A Reliable Study on the Accident Reconstruction using Accident Data Recorder (사고기록장치를 이용한 교통사고재현에 관한 신뢰성 연구)

  • As an Accident data recorder (ADR) is a system to record a vehicle's status and dynamics information on the before and after of accident, Traffic accident investigation agencies and parts developers have a lot of interest to analyze an accident objectively and develop automotive safety devices by using real accident data, This study is to analyze an accident objectively and scientifically on the basis of traffic accident reconstruction with the use of output data of an event data recorder. This study is conducted double lane change test six times and slalom test one time as a field driving test and simulation. Based on the vehicle speed, the longitudinal and transverse acceleration, steering angle, driving path, and other kinds of information obtained from the field driving test, this study performed a simulation with PC-Crash program of reenacting and analyzing a traffic accident. The simulation was performed twice in the acceleration-steering angle input method and in the acceleration-driving path input method. By comparing the result of the field driving test with the results of the two simulations, we drew an analysis method with the optimal path reconstruction.

Analysis of Total Loss of Feedwater Event for the Determination of Safety Depressurization Bleed Capacity (안전감압계통의 방출유량을 결정하기 위한 완전급수상실사고 해석)

  • The Ulchin 3&4, which are 2825 MWt PWRs, adopted Safety Depressurization System (SDS) to mitigate the beyond design basis event of Total Less of Feedwater(TLOFW). In this study the results and methodology of the analyses for the determination of SDS bleed capacity are discussed. The SDS design bleed capacity has been determined from the CEFLASH-4AS/REM simulation according to the following design criteria : 1) Each SDS flow path, in conjunction with one of two High Pressure Safety Injection (HPSI) pumps, is designed to have a sufficient capacity to prevent core uncovery if one SDS path is opened simultaneously with the opening of the Pressurizer Safety Valves (PSVs). 2) Both SDS bleed paths are designed to have sufficient total capacity with both HPSI pumps operating to prevent core uncovery if the Feed and Bleed (F&B) initiation is delayed up to thirty minutes from the time of the PSVs lift. To verify the results of CEFLASH-4AS/REM simulation a comparative analysis kas also been per-formed by more sophisticated computer code, RELAP5/MOD3. The TLOFW event without operator recovery and TLOFW event with F&B are analyzed. The predictions by the CEFLASH-4AS/REM of the transient too phase system behavior are in good qualitative and quantitative agreement with those by the RELAP5/MOD3 simulation. Both of the results of analyses by CEFLASH-4AS/REM and RELAP5/MOD3 have demonstrated that decay heat removal and core inventory make-up can be successfully accomplished by F&B operation during now event for the Ulchin 3&4.

Joint Space Trajectory Planning on RTOS (실시간 운영체제에서 관절 공간 궤적 생성)

  • This paper presents an implementation of a smooth path planning method considering physical limits on a real time operating system for a two-wheel mobile robot. A Bezier curve is utilized to make a smooth path considering a robot's position and direction angle through the defined path. A convolution operator is used to generate the center velocity trajectory to travel the distance of the planned path while satisfying the physical limits. The joint space velocity is computed to drive the two-wheel mobile robot from the center velocity. Trajectory planning, velocity command according to the planned trajectory, and monitoring of encoder data are implemented with a multi-tasking system. And the synchronization of tasks is performed with a real-time mechanism of Event Flag. A real time system with multi-tasks is implemented and the result is compared with a non-real-time system in terms of path tracking to the designed path. The result shows the usefulness of a real-time multi-tasking system to the control system which requires real-time features.

A Method of BDD Restructuring for Efficient MCS Extraction in BDD Converted from Fault Tree and A New Approximate Probability Formula (고장수목으로부터 변환된 BDD에서 효율적인 MCS 추출을 위한 BDD 재구성 방법과 새로운 근사확률 공식)

  • BDD is a well-known alternative to the conventional Boolean logic method in fault tree analysis. As the size of fault tree increases, the calculation time and computer resources for BDD dramatically increase. A new failure path search and path restructure method is proposed for efficient calculation of CS and MCS from BDD. Failure path grouping and bottom-up path search is proved to be efficient in failure path search in BDD and path restructure is also proved to be used in order to reduce the number of CS comparisons for MCS extraction. With these newly proposed methods, the top event probability can be calculated using the probability by ASDMP(Approximate Sum of Disjoint MCS Products), which is shown to be equivalent to the result by the conventional MCUB(Minimal Cut Upper Bound) probability.

  • In this study, a risk assessment model based on the ETA (Event Tree Analysis) and FTA (Fault Tree Analysis) is developed according to the procedure of hazard analysis and risk assessment in order to estimate the risk quantitatively. The FTA technique is applied to estimate the branch probability (frequency) and the ETA technique is applied to estimate the consequence for each branch path on the ET (Event Tree). A risk assessment model is developed by the combination of those ETA and FTA. In addition, the reliability and the validity of the risk assessment model are verified by comparing the risk estimated through the developed model with the actual equivalent fatality.

  • WebView is a vital component in smartphone platforms like Android, Windows and iOS that enables smartphone applications (apps) to embed a simple yet powerful web browser inside them. WebView not only provides the same functionalities as web browser, it, more importantly, enables a rich interaction between apps and webpages loaded inside the WebView. However, the design and the features of WebView lays path to tamper the sandbox protection mechanism implemented by browsers. As a consequence, malicious attacks can be launched either against the apps or by the apps through the exploitation of WebView APIs. This paper presents a critical attack called Supplementary Event-Listener Injection (SEI) attack which adds auxiliary event listeners, for executing malicious activities, on the HTML elements in the webpage loaded by the WebView via JavaScript Injection. This paper also proposes an automated static analysis system for analyzing WebView embedded apps to classify the kind of vulnerability possessed by them and a solution for the mitigation of the attack.

  • Various events of stop, playback, capture, and zoom-in/out in playing video is available in the monitor of a small size such as smart phones. However, if the size of the display increases, then the cost of the touch recognition is increased, thus provision of a touch event is not possible in practice. In this paper, we propose a video event control system that recognizes a touch inexpensively from the depth information, then provides the variety of events of the toggle, the pinch-in / out by the single or multi-touch. The proposed method finds a touch location and the touch path by the depth information from a depth camera, and determines the touch gesture type. This touch interface algorithm is implemented in a small single-board system, and can control the video event by sending the gesture information through the UART communication. Simulation results show that the proposed depth touch method can control the various events in a large screen.

The Influences of Cognitive Conflict and Situational Interest by a Discrepant Event on the Conceptual Change Process in Learning the Concept of Combustion (연소 개념 학습에서 변칙 사례에 의한 인지 갈등 및 상황 흥미가 개념 변화 과정에 미치는 영향)

  • In this study, we investigated the role of a discrepant event from both cognitive and motivational perspectives in learning the concept of combustion. A preconception test, a test of response to a discrepant event, and a situational interest questionnaire were administered to 433 eighth graders. After learning the concept of combustion, the tests of attention, effort, and conceptual understanding were administered as post-tests. The reponses of 208 students who had been found to possess the target misconception were analyzed. The percentages of rejection and exclusion responses were relatively high compared to the previous studies about density concept, whereas a proportion of belief change was low. The results of the path analysis indicated that situational interest after presenting an alternative hypothesis had a direct effect and an indirect effect via attention and effort on conceptual understanding. Situational interest induced by a discrepant event directly influenced cognitive conflict after presenting an alternative hypothesis.

Analysis of the Critical Path of Underground Gas Pipe According to Interference Behavior (간섭 거동에 따른 지하 가스 배관의 영향선 분석)

  • In order to make the critical path analysis of gas pipeline located under rigid pipes for interference behavior, FE analysis is performed considering real buried conditions of a drain and a gas pipe according to intersection angle of two pipes. A drain pipe and gas pipe have cover depth respectively 1.0m and 3.39m and this study considers a interference angle in the range of $0{\sim}90^{\circ}$. In this paper, the critical path is analyzed from the result of Ring Deflection and bending stress according to intersection angle. In the event intersection angle of two pipes equal to the critical path of lower pipe. The analysis results show that the critical path of lower gas pipe according to interference behavior has relation to intersection angle of two pipes.

Improved Operation Criteria for a Power Generation Gas Turbine on the Blade Path Temperature Variations (날개통과온도 변화에 기반한 발전용 가스터빈의 운전관리 개선)

  • In this study, I discussed a way of the improved operation criteria to detect combustion instability in advance F-Class Gas Turbine, which adopts lean pre-mixed combustion system. The data of 16 blades path temperature thermocouple installed radially at the gas Turbine exit were collected to analyze the variation of individual blade path temperature. The cumulative variation in individual blade path temperature for one week under normal combustion conditions was confirmed to be up to 26℃. On the other hand, in the event of combustion instability, the symptoms of increased temperature variations in the individual thermocouple were mostly seen from a few days ago. Based on the results of this study, it is deemed appropriate to inspect and maintain in Ulsan Thermal Power Gas Turbine when the individual blade path temperature exceeds 50℃ of the cumulative variation for 10 days.
