This study aimed to develop an observation scale for assessing the quality of day care programs and to examine reliability and validity of the scale. Instruments included 3 self-assessment scales, the Evaluation Scale for Early Childhood Programs and an observation scale completed by 8 trained observers in 89 day care sites. Item analysis indicated that most items were acceptable in terms of item discrimination and item response distribution. Cronbach ${\alpha}^{\prime}s$ and inter-observer reliability were relatively high. Validity of the scale was evidenced by correlations between the observation scale and the criterion measure and inter-correlations among sub-areas of the observation scale. Scores on the observation scale were validated by quality ratings from self-assessment scores.

Objectives : The special class has been made, bringing rapid increase quantitatively. The authors carried out the child psychiatric interview and evaluation for 9 special-classed children in Asan city to find out clinical diagnosis and emotional/behavioral characteristics. Methods : The child psychiatrists evaluated special class children by DSM-IV and K-SADS-PL. Tools for the evaluation were Child Behavior Checklist- Korean version, Korean Personality Inventory for Children, Children's Depression Inventory, Abbreviated Conners Parent-Teacher Rating Scale-Revised, State-Trait Anxiety Inventory for Children, Vineland Social Maturity Scale, Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-III, and Childhood Autism Rating Scale. Results : Ultimately 53 children, consisting of 35 boys(67.9%) and 18 girls(32.1%), participated, and the average age was $10.5{\pm}1.3$ years old. Their measure of Vineland Social Maturity Scale was $78.7{\pm}20.0$, Childhood Autism Rating Scales was $25.4{\pm}9.0$, Child Depression Inventory was $22.2{\pm}5.2$, State-Trait Anxiety Inventory for Children was $35.2{\pm}8.2/36.5{\pm}6.2$, and Abbreviated Conners Parent-Teacher Rating Scale was $11.0{\pm}4.6$. In the clinical diagnosis evaluation, the prevalence rate of learning disorder was decreased compared to early research, ADHD had been newly appeared and depression disorder and anxiety disorder had been increased. Conclusion : This result suggests that a lot of children in a special class have complex emotional and behavioral problems in addition to educational problems.

This study was performed to examine attitude, perception, and sensory evaluation of Jjigae HMR (Home Meal Replacement) for Americans in the L.A. area. Attitude and perception of Jjigae were conducted by 128 consumers. The questions were as follows: 1) frequencies and attitude toward soup and stew, 2) experience and frequency of Korean food intake, 3) awareness of Korean Jjigae. A total of 69.5% of American had previous experience with Korean foods. However, the frequencies of Korean food intake were once every few months (27.4%) or once a year (18.9%). The 20.2% of consumers selected Kimchi-jjigae as the best-known Korean Jjigae, and 17.1% of consumers had previous experience with Kimchi-jjigae. However, the 23.7% of consumers did not have experienced with Jjigae. Sensory evaluation was conducted using Sundubu-jjigae and Kimchi jjigae. Overall liking and flavor liking were conducted by Americans using a nine-point scale (1: Dislike extremely - 9: Like extremely). The degree of intensity for sensory attribute was also rated using a nine-point Just-About-Right(JAR) scale (1: not nearly spicy/sour enough, 5: Just-About-Right, 9: too spicy/sour). Purchasing intention was rated using a five-point scale (1: Definitely would not purchase, 5: Definitely would purchase). Overall liking and flavor liking of two jjigae (Sundubu-jjigae & Kimchi-jjigae) had a value higher than five on the nine-point scale. The level of spiciness of Sundubu-jjigae was suitable for consumers whereas spiciness of Kimchi-jjigae was significantly different from the JAR value of five points on the nine-point JAR scale, showing that Kimchi-jjigae was significantly spicier than JAR point. Purchasing intention had a value higher than three on the five-point scale.

ROK Navy intends to secure the Korean-type aircraft carrier in order to effectively prepare for various future security threats. In general, the Korean national competency is considered to be at the level of having an aircraft carrier, but it is unclear what scale aircraft carrier would be appropriate. In this study, the efficiency was evaluated through the relative comparison between national competency(national power, economic power) and the scale of aircraft carriers, and the optimal scale of the Korean-type aircraft carrier that could be acquired was presented. A DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis) model was applied to aircraft carriers(19 aircraft carriers in 11 countries) currently in operation and scheduled to be possessed in the world. As input variables, CINC(Composite Index of National Capability) and GDP(Gross Domestic Product), which are the most widely used as indicators of national and economic power, and as output variables, the full-load displacement, length, and width of aircraft carriers were selected. ARIMA(short-term within 5 years) and simple regression(long-term over 5 years) were used to estimate the future national competency of each country at the time of aircraft carriers acquisition. The relative efficiency score of the Korean-type aircraft carrier currently being evaluated is 1.062, and it was evaluated as small-scale aircraft carrier compared to the national competency. Based on Korean national competency, the optimal scale of the Korean-type aircraft carrier calculated by aggregating benchmark groups, is 58,308.1 tons of full-load displacement, 279.4m in length, and 68.3m in width.

The certification of software products can provide a greater level of acceptance and feeling of security to customers of these products. This paper presents a certification method for the quality of package software. First of all, the evaluation criteria are derived from ISO/1EC 9126 and 12119 standards, and then the evaluation module are designed considering the measurement scale type. The results can be applied to construct the certification scheme of software product quality for the commercial purpose.

The purpose of study was to develop and validate Korean Sleep Scale A which can be easily administrated by nurses for a wide range of adult subjects. Dimensions of sleep concept were derived by literature review. Previously developed sleep sclaes were also analyzed in order to develop scale items. The Korean sleep scale A was structured as a 15 item, 4 point likert type scale. The Scale was tested an 298 female and male adult subjects after pilottest and content validation. The results showed reliability by internal consistency of Cronbach's α=.75 Construct validity was tested by factor analysis and known group technique. Factor analysis showed 4 factors-sleep pattern, sleep evaluation, sleep result, and cause of sleep disturbance. These four factors explained 55.9% of total variance. Correlations between factors ranged from .15-.32. There was correlation among Korean Sleep ScaleA score, Verran and Snyder-Halpern(VSH) Sleep Scale score, and sleep satisfaction scale score, r=.71(p=.00), r=.51(p=.03), respectively, These study results partially support reliability, construct validity, and criterion related validity of Korean Sleep Scale A. Further validation study is required with other subjects and other settings.

The purpose of this paper is to establish the standard method of evaluation English-to-Korean MT systems We focus on test suites, evaluation procedure and evaluation results. Four computer programs on the market are tested on a test suite consisting of 1,501 sentence, The quality of translation and the capacity of MT system are the key points for evaluation . The sentences in the suite are classified according to the grammatical properties they reveal. The classificatory scheme has the structure of a directory: each sentence belongs to a subclass, which belongs to a major class,. We place the sentences in the test suite on a scale of difficulty (hard ordinary easy) and each output sentence is graded on a scale of four accuracy levels. We also test the programs with respect to their speed.

The purposes or this study were to develop the scientific experimental model, experimental guidelines for teachers, experiment planning & report form for students, and evaluation scales for the Home Economics Textiles class in high school. First, through review of literature concerned, scientific experimental model was defined, and the usefulness of this model on the teaching situation testified on other subjects such as Physics and Bilolgy, was reviewed. Secondly, scientific experimental model, experimental guidelines for teachers, experiment planning & report form for students, and evaluation scale were developer on the bases on APU evaluation model, experimental guidelines for teachers, experiment planning & report form for students, evaluation scale applicable to the teaching situation ere established by analysing the significant differences scientifically.

In complex industrial world, many companies make every effort to analyze their competition capability through various performance evaluation tools to cope with rapidly changing business environment. Among evaluation tools the balanced scorecard (BSC), put forward by Kaplan and Norton in 1992, is a strategic performance management tool for measuring whether the smaller-scale operational activities of a company are aligned with its larger-scale objectives in terms of vision and strategy. The BSC tool offers a comparative advantage over others to evaluate the objective achievement of a company by linking its strategic objectives with operational KPI. In this paper, we introduce a case that the BSC performance evaluation system was implemented based on product data management and applied it to the business process. Specially, we shows a implementation procedure to derive discipline-specific topics and key performance metrics.
