화학산업에서의 안전성능지수 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Safety Performance Index in Chemical Industry)

  • In order to maintain the continual safety management in a company, it needs to evaluate and monitor its implementation of safety management. Because the number of major-accidents is not an effective method of indicating company's safety performance, various efforts to develop more reasonable indicators have been made in world wide. After Korean government has legally required the PSM report, PSM compliance audit has been developed and made by the authorities concerned since 2005. However, this audit consists of complicate procedures difficult to utilize as companies' own audit program and corresponds to only a conformity check that confirms whether the PSM be operated and maintained properly. So a new index by which to measure easily the level of safety performance and self-monitor the implementation of safety management is needed. We have studied a new method that may quantitatively evaluate the performance of safety management by investigating application cases in foreign countries and doing the domestic survey of lots of companies subject to PSM regulation in Korea. This study proposes three of safety performance indices(SPI) together with the several prerequisite preconditions and the timing for application of each index. Although the first draft of SPI needs further legal support, it might help to evaluate every company's safety level. The second draft of SPI is a voluntarily evaluating method based on web-site online program. The last draft of SPI consists of a series of simple questions about 12 elements of PSM. Also each of 3 indices has differences in evaluation methodology and application area and, therefore, they may be used concurrently.

중국 및 한국 Database에서의 위식도 역류질환에 대한 반하사심탕의 효과에 대한 최근 10년간의 연구경향 (A Study Trend for the Effects of Banxia-xiexin-tang Decoction (Banhasasim-tang) on Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) in Chinese and Korean Databases over the Last Ten Years)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this research is to examine the recent clinical research trends on the efficiency of traditional herb medicine (THM) on gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and to provide clinical evidence of herbal medicine, Banhasasin-tang or Banxiexin decoction by using a systemic review and meta-analysis of randomized trials (RCTs). Methods: In this study, randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were included that verified effects of traditional herbal medicine (THM), including a Banxia-xiexin-tang decoction, as a treatment for GERD. A study of the literature in Chinese and Korean databases was performed for papers published from January 1, 2010, to January 1, 2020. The selected literature was assessed by Cochrane's risk of bias (RoB). Results: A total of 90 RCTs met the inclusion criteria. Except for four RCT studies, all studies identified the effect of a Banxia-xiexin-tang decoction in the treatment of GERD. The effectiveness of treatment was significantly higher in the intervention group than in the control group, as shown through various evaluation indicators, including the reflux disease diagnostic questionnaire (RDQ). Adverse effects were reported in 22 articles (24.44%). Conclusions: Treatment with Banhasasin-tang, or a Banxia-xiexin-tang decoction, was found to be effective in treating GERD. However, due to the low quality of available studies, the significance of this conclusion is somewhat limited. This study could serve as a foundation for further clinical studies on the development of diagnosis and treatment methods for GERD based on Korean medicine.

양성 돌발성 두위 현훈에 대한 반하백출천마탕(半夏白朮天麻湯)의 효과 : 체계적 문헌고찰 - CNKI 검색을 중심으로 (The Effect of Banhabaekchulcheonma-tang on Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo: A Systematic Review Using the CNKI Database)

  • Objectives: This study examines the effect of Banhabaekchulcheonma-tang on Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) through a systematic review of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) in the Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure Database (CNKI). Methods: RCTs were included that tested the effect of Banhabaekchulcheonma-tang on BPPV. A study of the literature in the CNKI was performed for papers published from January 1, 2011 to June 30, 2021. Results: A total of eight RCTs met the inclusion criteria. All studies identified the effect of Banhabaekchulcheonma-tang in the treatment of BPPV. The effectiveness of treatment was higher in the intervention group than in the control group, as shown through evaluation indicators, including the total effective rate, dizziness handicap inventory (DHI), and blood lipids. Conclusion: Treatment with Banhabaakchulcheonma-tang was found to be effective in treating BPPV. However, due to the low quality of available studies, the significance of this conclusion is somewhat limited. Further clinical studies are needed on the development of diagnosis and treatment methods for BPPV based on Korean medicine.

환자안전을 위한 병원건축 설계지침과 디자인 기본구조 비교조사 - 미국과 영국을 중심으로 (Comparative Study of Hospital Architecture Design Guidelines and Frameworks for the Patient Safety - Focused on the US and UK)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to compare the changes in hospital accreditation evaluations, the changes in hospital building design guidelines, and the development of design indicators for reducing medical accidents in the state-of-the-art healthcare providers. Methods: The changes and tools were carefully investigated and compared that had been taken place and used in the building certification standards, design guidelines, and patient safety design standards to reduce accidents in the United States and the United Kingdom. Results: First, medical accidents are recognized as multiple defense layers rather than personal ones, and a public reporting and learning system is created, reporting the accidents in question publicly and suggesting ways to improve them based on the data at a time. Second, for the accreditation institute that secures the service quality of medical institutions, detailed standards for patient safety are continuously updated with focus on clinical trials. The United States is in charge of the private sector, but on the other hand the United Kingdom is in charge of the public sector. Third, the design guidelines are provided as web-based tools that complement various guidelines for patient safety, and are improved and developed as well. Fourth, detailed approaches are continuously developed and provided to secure patient safety and reduce medical accidents through appropriate research, evidence-based design and strict evaluations. Implications: When medical institutions make efforts to strength patient safety methods through valid design standards, accidents are expected to decrease, whereby hospital finances are also to be improved. A higher level of medical quality service will sure be secured through comprehensive certification evaluation.

제한급전하는 오프그리드의 독립형 마이크로그리드 최적 설계 및 경제성 평가를 위한 일부하곡선 추정 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Estimation Method of Daily Load Curve for the Optimization Design and Economic Evaluation of Stand-alone Microgrids Based on HOMER Simulation in Off-Grid Limiting the Supply of Electricity)

  • There is a growing interest in various microgrid solutions that supply electricity 24 hours a day to off-grid areas where are not connected with the main grid, and Korea has many positive effects by constructing overseas microgrids as a country operating the emission trading scheme. Since it is not clear how to obtain load curves that is one of the inputs of the HOMER used to design a microgrid optimization plan, or it is necessary to examine whether electricity is supplied to the peak load level of the areas where have not received the electricity benefits from the viewpoint of the demand management, a methodology should be developed to know the load composition ratio and the shape of the daily load curve. In this paper, the relative coefficient and average load information for each load group obtained from the survey are used besides peak load and total average load. A mathematical model is proposed to derive the load composition ratio in the form of a Quadratic Programming and the load forecasting is performed using simple linear regression with future indicators. The effectiveness of the proposed method is confirmed for the Philippine island region supported by Korea Energy Agency and the Asian Development Bank.

소양인 소증 진단평가지표 개발 연구 (A Study on the Development of Diagnostic Index for the Ordinary Symptom of Soyangin)

  • Purpose This study was to develop and study 'Diagnostic Index for the Ordinary Symptom of Soyangin'. Methods The main diagnosis and evaluation index symptoms of Soyangin were extracted based on 『Donguisusebowon』 and Clinical Practice Guidelines for Sasang Constitutional Medicine Symptomatology; CPG for soyangin. The selected ordinary symptoms were divided into 4 categories such as Exterior-Cold ordinary symptom (表寒素證), Exterior-Disease unfavorable's ordinary symptom (表病逆證素證), Interior-Heat ordinary symptom (裏熱素證), Interior-Disease unfavorable's ordinary symptom (裏病逆證素證) of Soyangin and translated into Korean. And the inclusion, importance and translation validity of major diagnosis and assessment indicators of Soyangin were surveyed online by a group of Sasang constitutional experts. Results & Conclusions 29 ordinary symptoms and pathological mechanism were selected from references and translated into 51 Korean symptoms. After inclusion yes or no survey by expert group, 45 symptoms were selected. The importance survey showed that 'Have a soft stool' of Exterior-Cold ordinary symptom indication, '(If you're stressed, if you're not in good health) Have a soft stool or diarrhea' of Exterior-Disease unfavorable's ordinary symptom, 'The feces harden easily' of Interior-Heat ordinary symptom and '(If you're stressed, if you're not in good health) Have an upset stomach' of Interior-Disease unfavorable's ordinary symptom were the most important. Finally, [Diagnostic Index for the Ordinary Symptom of Soyangin] was completed after survey of translation validity, reflection of individual opinions by the expert committee, and application of weighted value calculated from the importance survey.

  • 이 논문은 폐광지역진흥지구가 지정된 4개의 사례도시를 대상으로 최근 20년간 도시축소 유형을 분석하고 도시축소 실태분석을 통해 향후 도시공간정책의 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 최근 20년간의 1년 단위 도시축소유형 분석결과, 사례도시 모두 고착형 축소도시로 분석되었으며 최근 40년간 정점인구 대비 30 % 이상의 인구감소를 나타냈다. 공간구조적으로는 인구감소에도 불구하고 시가화면적과 비도시지역의 지구단위계획구역 지정면적은 매년 증가하고 있으며, 비도시지역의 개발행위허가 및 건축허가도 증가추세에 있어 도시공간의 효율적 관리와 운영이 필요하다. 향후 소멸 고위험단계에 있는 군급 도시에 대한 연구와 도시축소 유형의 세분화 및 유형별 실태분석을 위한 다양한 지표의 개발이 요구된다.

ESG 영역별 평가등급이 중국 상장기업 가치에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of ESG Ratings on the Value of Chinese Listed Companies)

  • Purpose - ESG(Environmental, Social and Governance) rating is an indicator to predict the sustainable development and long-term value creation of enterprises, which is becoming more and more important. This study divided the ESG rating into each sector(E, S and G) to identify which ESG elements are effective in enhancing enterprise value according to the characteristics of the enterprise, which is different from previous studies. Design/methodology/approach - In this study, Bloomberg ESG Disclosure Score was used to empirically analyze the relationship between ESG ratings and corporate value by taking the listed companies of China's Shanghai Composite Index from 2017 to 2020 as the object. Findings - First, the relationship between ESG ratings and enterprise value shows a statistically significant positive correlation, which supports the results of previous studies. Second, the analysis results from the classification of ownership structure of enterprises (state-owned enterprises and non-state-owned enterprises) show that compared with state-owned enterprises, the ESG ratings of non-state-owned enterprises is more closely related to enterprise value. Third, the analysis of various industries (manufacturing and non-manufacturing) shows that compared with manufacturing, ESG scores of non-manufacturing has a more positive effect on enterprise value. Lastly, the analysis by industry type (heavy-contaminated companies, non-contaminated companies) confirmed that ESG scores of non-contaminated companies has a positive effect on corporate value than heavy-contaminated companies. Research implications or Originality - This study classified ESG evaluation grades(E, S and G) for listed companies in China and analyzed in detail how they affect corporate value according to corporate characteristics, drawing implications for what ESG indicators should be focused on to increase corporate value.

메가가뭄 확산단계별 평가지표 개발 (Development of evaluation indicators for each stage of mega drought spread)

  • 메가가뭄으로 인한 적응전략 수립은 국민의 물 안보 및 수자원 재해에 대한 안전 증대에 매우 중요한 핵심기술임에도 불구하고 메가가뭄의 정량적인 평가지표는 개발 중인 상황이다. 본 연구에서는 국내/외 메가가뭄 분석 및 영향평가 관련 선행연구사례를 분석하여 메가가뭄 확산 단계별 평가지표를 도출하고자 하였다. 메가가뭄을 평가하기 위해 선행연구에서는 이상 강수량과 이상기온을 함께 고려하는 방법을 지속적으로 제안해 왔다. 이상 강수량은 기상학적 가뭄과 토양수분의 저하, 수문학적 가뭄, 사회경제적 영향에 이르기까지 가뭄을 평가할 수 있는 지표로써 활용할 수 있으며, 이상 기온은 폭염 등 기온 상승으로 인한 증발산량의 증가로 토양수분 저하와 저수량 감소 등의 영향을 평가할 수 있는 지표이다. 본 연구에서는 메가가뭄의 확산을 4단계로 구분하고 확산단계별 평가지표를 개발하였다. 또한 가뭄유형을 기상, 농업, 수문, 사회경제적 가뭄으로 구분하여 메가가뭄의 발생 단계와 그에 따른 가뭄의 확산 분야별 영향 분석을 수행하도록 제시하였다. 가뭄단계는 메가가뭄의 징후기, 진입기, 확산기, 지속적인 메가가뭄으로 인한 국가적 위기 4단계로 구분하였다. 메가가뭄은 1년 주기의 분석이 아닌 Carry over되는 연속적인 사상임에 따라 본 연구에서는 메가가뭄의 단계를 각각 2년, 3년, 4년 연속적으로 지속하였을 때로 구분하였으며, 이에 따른 기상, 농업, 수문, 사회경제적 평가지표를 제시하였다. 기상학적 메가가뭄 평가지표는 누적강수량을 이용한 강수량 부족으로 인한 가뭄, 이상기온(폭염)으로 인한 폭염으로 구분하였다. 농업적 메가가뭄 평가지표는 농업용수를 공급하는 농업용 저수지와 밭작물 생육에 영향을 미치는 토양수분에 관련한 평가항목을 이용하였으며, 수문학적 메가가뭄 평가지표는 다목적댐의 저수율과 하천 갈수량을 이용한 하천건천화 지수를 이용한 평가지표를 제시하였다. 사회경제적 메가가뭄 평가지표는 국민이 실제로 체감할 수 있는 지표로써 농작물 가격과 생·공용수의 제한급수 발생 현황을 이용한 평가가 가능하도록 제시하였다.

Evaluation of Pain Reduction and Clinical Efficacy of Feedback-Controlled Ultrasonic Scaler

  • Background: Recently, a piezoelectric ultrasonic scaler based on a feedback control mechanism was introduced for pain relief. This study aimed to investigate the effects of a new ultrasonic scaler in reducing pain and discomfort in adults. Methods: A newly introduced ultrasonic scaler (Master 700®) was used as the test device and a conventional ultrasonic scaler device (PIEZON®) was used as the control device. Forty-one healthy adults visited the dental clinic for dental scaling but did not undergo scaling or periodontal treatment within 6 months. Intraoral examinations were performed before scaling and 3 months later; before scaling, both devices were randomly assigned on the left or right side of each dentition (split-mouth model) and scaling was performed by a registered dental hygienist. The levels of pain and discomfort during scaling were evaluated subjectively and objectively using the visual analog scale (VAS) and physiological monitoring of the heart rate (HR), respectively. Time was measured for each device. Results: All clinical indicators, except bleeding on probing, significantly improved with both devices. The treatment times were 7 minutes, 13 minutes (control) and 6 minutes, 59 minutes (test). VAS scores for pain were 4.89±2.12 (control) and 4.58±2.77 (test) points out of 10; for noise, these were 4.68±2.33 (control) and 4.55±2.55 (test), and for vibration, the values were 4.26±2.0 (control) and 4.18±2.48 (test). HR averages were 72.34±3.39 (control) and 75.97±9.78 (test) beats/min. No statistically significant differences were observed between the devices. Conclusion:The pain, discomfort levels, and scaling time of the new piezoelectric ultrasonic scaler did not differ from those of the conventional device. Further research and development are necessary for more prominent pain-relief effects of scaling devices.
