  • This study conducted case studies in order to suggest the improvement of GDP (Gross Domestic Product) deflator method which is adopted on calculating fluctuation rate on BTL (Build-Transfer-Lease) sewer rehabilitation projects in Jeju. As a result, because GDP deflator method calculates fluctuation rate by each quarterly, the fluctuation rate of GDP deflator method is higher than it of index adjustment rate method. And GDP deflator method cannot reflect real price because of applying fixed index in whole construction cost for calculating fluctuation rate. Especially, the notification day - the base point influences fluctuation rate and fluctuation amount strongly in GDP deflator method.

  • The cost percentage of engine part in the total building cost of a ship is about 30-40% and the main engine occupies about 50% of the engine part cost. For certain ships the fuel bill can be as high as about 60-70% of the total operating cost after two oil shocks and its amount for one year is nearly equivalent to her main engine price. This fact has further increased the pressure on the engine builders to develop engines of higher efficiency and better possibilities to burn further deteriorated fuel qualities. But the energy-saving plants are ordinarily more expensive and their available amount of exhaust gas energy is less and therefore, they are not always profitable and optimum systems. This paper is prepared to decide the most economical and efficient engine systems by presenting reasonable selecting and economical evaluation methods of the main engine, which is the largest single unit and the most expensive, and its auxiliaries. In order to demonstrate the application of investigated methods in a practical case, a 46, 000 DWT class bulk carrier is selected as a model ship and her main engine and its auxiliaries are selected and evaluated. The result shows that the optimum determined has one year three months POP, 0.903 IRR at a year, 4, 116, 000 dollars PW in 15 years (for 5% escalation rate of fuel cost) and 9.522 BCR for same condition, when the engine plant of a same existing ship is taken as the basis.

  • Workplace violence (WPV) is an increasing cause of concern around the globe, and healthcare organizations are no exception. Nurses may be subject to all kinds of workplace violence due to their frontline position in healthcare settings. The purpose of this systematic review is to identify and consider different interventions that aim to decrease the magnitude/prevalence of workplace violence against nurses. The standard method by Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA, 2009) has been used to collect data and assess methodological quality. Altogether, twenty-six studies are included in the review. The intervention procedures they report on can be grouped into three categories: stand-alone trainings designed to educate nurses; more structured education programs, which are broader in scope and often include opportunities to practice skills learned during the program; multicomponent interventions, which often include organizational changes, such as the introduction of workplace violence reporting systems, in addition to workplace violence training for nurses. By comparing the findings, a clear picture emerges; while standalone training and structured education programs can have a positive impact, the impact is unfortunately limited. In order to effectively combat workplace violence against nurses, healthcare organizations must implement multicomponent interventions, ideally involving all stakeholders.

  • This study aims to analyze the effect of (a) sharia governance on transparency, muzakki's trust, and muzakki's loyalty in paying zakat to zakat management organizations, (b) trust and accountability on muzakki loyalty in paying zakat to zakat management organizations, (c) transparency, loyalty and accountability on the amount of zakat payments to zakat management organizations This is explanatory research with data analysis techniques using the smartPLS method. The sample is 117 people who had paid zakat to BAZNAS, Indonesia. The results showed that the sharia governance variable had a significant effect on the accountability, transparency, and muzakki trust variables. The accountability variable has a significant effect on the muzakki loyalty variable and not on the zakat payment variable. The transparency variable has a significant effect on the muzakki loyalty variable and not on the zakat payment variable. The muzakki trust variable has a significant effect on the muzakki loyalty variable, and the loyalty variable has a significant effect on the zakat payment variable. This new model can explain the variables that affect the increase in trust and loyalty in increasing the amount of zakat payments. Muzakki's trust and loyalty improvement model against zakat payment in BAZNAS Indonesia, explains how BAZNAS organizers can increase zakat revenue, loyalty, trust, and good sharia governance.

  • Despite long-term research achievements, the development of cell therapy (CT) products remains challenging. This is because the risks experienced by the subject and therapeutic effects in the clinical trial stage are unclear due to the various uncertainties of CT when administered to humans. Nevertheless, as autologous cell products for systemic administration have recently been approved for marketing, CT product development is accelerating, particularly in the field of unmet medical needs. The human experience of CT remains insufficient compared with other classes of pharmaceuticals, while there are countless products for clinical development. Therefore, for many sponsors, understanding the rationale of human application of an investigational product based on the consensus and improving the ability to apply it appropriately for CT are necessary. Thus, defining the level of evidence for safety and efficacy fundamentally required for initiating the clinical development and preparing it using a reliable method for CT. Furthermore, the expertise should be strengthened in the design of the first-in-human trial, such as the starting dose and dose-escalation plan, based on a sufficiently acceptable rationale. Cultivating development professionals with these skills will increase the opportunity for more candidates to enter the clinical development phase.

  • A rapid and simple LC-MS/MS analytical method in determining Jaspine B has been developed and validated in rat plasma. The standard curve value was 25 - 5000 ng/mL and the linearity, inter-day and intra-day accuracy and precision were within 15.0 % of relative standard deviation (RSD). The mean recoveries of Jaspine B ranged from 87.5 % to 91.2 % with less than 3.70 % RSD and the matrix effects ranged from 91.1 % to 108.2 % with less than 2.6 % RSD. The validated LC-MS/MS analytical method of Jaspine B was successfully applied to investigate the dose-escalated pharmacokinetic study of Jaspine B in rats following an intravenous injection of Jaspine B at a dose range of 1 - 10 mg/kg. The initial plasma concentrations and area under plasma concentration curves showed a good correlation with intravenous Jaspine B dose, indicating the dose independent pharmacokinetics of Jaspine B in rats. In conclusion, this analytical method for Jaspine B can be easily applied in the bioanalysis and pharmacokinetic studies of Jaspine B, including its administration at multiple therapeutic doses, or for making pharmacokinetic comparisons for the oral formulations of Jaspine B in small experimental animals as well as in vivo pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic correlation studies.

  • On offshore platforms, oil and gas leaks are apt to be the initial events of major accidents that may result in significant loss of life and property damage. To prevent accidents induced by leakage, it is vital to perform a case-specific and accurate risk assessment. This paper presents an integrated method of Ddynamic Qquantitative Rrisk Aassessment (DQRA)-using the Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL)-Bayesian Network (BN)-for evaluation of the system vulnerabilities and prediction of the occurrence probabilities of accidents induced by leakage. In the method, three-level indicators are established to identify factors, events, and subsystems that may lead to leakage, fire, and explosion. The critical indicators that directly influence the evolution of risk are identified using DEMATEL. Then, a sequential model is developed to describe the escalation of initial events using an Event Tree (ET), which is converted into a BN to calculate the posterior probabilities of indicators. Using the newly introduced accident precursor data, the failure probabilities of safety barriers and basic factors, and the occurrence probabilities of different consequences can be updated using the BN. The proposed method overcomes the limitations of traditional methods that cannot effectively utilize the operational data of platforms. This work shows trends of accident risks over time and provides useful information for risk control of floating marine platforms.

  • Purpose: Seclusion room in a psychiatric facility limit the body and space for treatment or protection, so controversy over human rights violations arises despite their necessity. The seclusion room should be created as an environment that can promote the recovery and healing of patients, not the purpose of managing patients. while ensuring the safety of medical staff. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to compare and analyze the standards of overseas guidelines for the seclusion room in psychiatric facility, and through this, it is intended to contribute to the improvement of facility standards for seclusion rooms in Korea, which are at a very insufficient level. Method: This study takes the method of comparative analysis through literature review. We analyze the facility standards of seclusion room in Korea, and compare and analyze guidelines for seclusion rooms in Australia, US, UK, and Canada. Result: As a result, the elements of the guideline for seclusion room were classified into size, space, opening, furniture and equipment, and etc. The results of comparative analysis of details are presented. Implications: Korea should also prepare guidelines for psychiatric institutions, and among them, the standards for seclusion room, which are at the center of controversy over human rights violations, should be reviewed in depth.
