Human-induced vibration could present a serious serviceability problem for large-span and/or lightweight floors using the high-strength material. This paper presents the results of heel-drop, jumping, and walking tests on a large-span composite steel rebar truss-reinforced concrete (CSBTRC) floor. The effects of human activities on the floor vibration behavior were investigated considering the parameters of peak acceleration, root-mean-square acceleration, maximum transient vibration value (MTVV), fundamental frequency, and damping ratio. The measured field test data were validated with the finite element and theoretical analysis results. A comprehensive comparison between the test results and current design codes was carried out. Based on the classical plate theory, a rational and simplified formula for determining the fundamental frequency for the CSBTRC floor is derived. Secondly, appropriate coefficients (βrp) correlating the MTVV with peak acceleration are suggested for heel-drop, jumping, and walking excitations. Lastly, the linear oscillator model (LOM) is adopted to establish the governing equations for the human-structure interaction (HSI). The dynamic characteristics of the LOM (sprung mass, equivalent stiffness, and equivalent damping ratio) are determined by comparing the theoretical and experimental acceleration responses. The HSI effect will increase the acceleration response.

Evaluation of accurate design moments in two directions is a primary concern in designing R/C Slab. For this purpose, the use of finite element method utilizing isoparametric plate element is proposed. An example of the simply supported slab shows that the results agree well wth those from elastic plate theory throughout the span. The finite element solutions are also compared with those from equivalent frame method in a flat plate example. It is indicated that the distribution of total moment through the width of design strip using the ACI coefficients is unreasonable. In contrary to this, for the same strip model, the finite element method gives accurate moments in two directions. The proposed method can be applied to any geometric configuration of the slab system, thus the approach is considered to be much advantageous and improved one compared with existing methods.

Nanotechnology has become one of the interesting technique used in material science and engineering. However, it is low used in civil engineering structures. The purpose of the present study is to investigate the static behavior of concrete plates reinforced with silica-nanoparticles. Due to agglomeration effect of silica-nanoparticles in concrete, Voigt's model is used for obtaining the equivalent nano-composite properties. Furthermore, the plate is simulated mathematically with higher order shear deformation theory. For a large use of this study, the concrete plate is assumed resting on a Pasternak elastic foundation, including a shear layer, and Winkler spring interconnected with a Kerr foundation. Using the principle of virtual work, the equilibrium equations are derived and by the mean of Hamilton's principle the energy equations are obtained. Finally, based on Navier's technique, closed-form solutions of simply supported plates have been obtained. Numerical results are presented considering the effect of different parameters such as volume percent of SiO2 nanoparticles, mechanical loads, geometrical parameters, soil medium, on the static behavior of the plate. The most findings of this work indicate that the use of an optimum amount of SiO2 nanoparticles on concretes increases better mechanical behavior. In addition, the elastic foundation has a significant impact on the bending of concrete slabs.

There exist different kinds of aircrafts, such as conventional airplane, rotorcraft, fighter, and unmanned aerial vehicle. Their shape and feature are dependent upon their own assigned mission. One of the fundamental analyses performed during the aircraft design is the structural analysis. It becomes more complicated and requires severe computations because of the recent complex trends in aircraft structure. In order for efficiency in the structural analysis, a simplified approach, such as equivalent beam or plate model, is preferred. However, it is not clear which analysis will be appropriate to analyze the realistic configuration, such as an aircraft wing, i.e., between an equivalent beam and plate analysis. It is necessary to assess the limitation for both the one-dimensional beam analysis and the two-dimensional plate theory. Thus, in this paper, the static structural analysis results obtained by EDISON solvers were compared with the three-dimensional results obtained from MSC NASTRAN. Before that, EDISON program was verified by comparing the results with those from MSC NASTRAN program and other analytic solutions.

A multilayer gaseous detector has been developed for fast dose-verification measurements of raster-scan-mode therapeutic beams in particle therapy. The detector, which was constructed with eight thin parallel-plate ionization chambers (PPICs) and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) absorber plates, is closely tissue-equivalent in a beam's eye view. The gas-electron signals, collected on the strips and pad arrays of each PPIC, were amplified and processed with a continuous charge.integration mode. The detector was tested with 190-MeV raster-scan-mode beams that were provided by the Proton Therapy Facility at Samsung Medical Center, Seoul, South Korea. The detector responses of the PPICs for a 190-MeV raster-scan-mode proton beam agreed well with the dose data, measured using a 2D ionization chamber array (Octavius model, PTW). Furthermore, in this study it was confirmed that the detector simultaneously tracked the doses induced at the PPICs by the fast-oscillating beam, with a scanning speed of 2 m s-1. Thus, it is anticipated that the present detector, composed of thin PPICs and operating in charge.integration mode, will allow medical scientists to perform reliable fast dose-verification measurements for typical dynamic mode therapeutic beams.
This article deals with the dynamic analysis in pad concrete foundation containing Silica nanoparticles (SiO2) subject to seismic load. In order to control the foundation smartly, a piezoelectric layer covered the foundation. The weight of the building by a column on the foundation is assumed with an external force in the middle of the structure. The foundation is located in soil medium which is modeled by spring elements. The Mori-Tanaka law is utilized for calculating the equivalent mechanical characteristics of the concrete foundation. The Kevin-Voigt model is adopted to take into account the structural damping. The concrete structure is modeled by a thick plate and the governing equations are deduced using Hamilton's principle under the assumption of higher-order shear deformation theory (HSDT). The differential quadrature method (DQM) and the Newmark method are applied to obtain the seismic response. The effects of the applied voltage to the smart layer, agglomeration and volume percent of SiO2 nanoparticles, damping of the structure, geometrical parameters and soil medium of the structure are assessed on the dynamic response. It has been demonstrated by the numerical results that by applying a negative voltage, the dynamic deflection is reduced significantly. Moreover, silica nanoparticles reduce the dynamic deflection of the concrete foundation.
Laminated plates have many applications in different industrials. Buckling analysis of these structures with the nano-scale reinforcement has not investigated yet. However, buckling analysis of embedded laminated plates with nanocomposite layers is studied in this paper. Considering the single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) as reinforcement of layers, SWCNTs agglomeration effects and nonlinear analysis using numerical method are the main contributions of this paper. Mori-Tanaka model is applied for obtaining the equivalent material properties of structure and considering agglomeration effects. The elastic medium is simulated by spring and shear constants. Based on first order shear deformation theory (FSDT), the governing equations are derived based on energy method and Hamilton's principle. Differential quadrature method (DQM) is used for calculating the buckling load of system. The effects of different parameters such as the volume percent of SWCNTs, SWCNTs agglomeration, number of layers, orientation angle of layers, elastic medium, boundary conditions and axial mode number of plate on the buckling of the structure are shown. Results indicate that increasing volume percent of SWCNTs increases the buckling load of the plate. Furthermore, considering agglomeration effects decreases the buckling load of system. In addition, it is found that the present results have good agreement with other works.

In this paper, a microstrip antenna with a small loop consisting of the left and right parallel plate to load capacitor is proposed. It is obtained the improved small size than the antenna of the transformed Uh and the antenna of the left and right parallel plate to load capacitor on QMSA. Equivalent circuit of transmission line model is designed to find more accurate resonant frequency. Also, the designed and fabricated antenna can receive both vertically and horizontally polarized waves to operating frequency of 1.5GHz. Therefore proposed antenna is available as a small antenna for wireless communication and will be quite useful for indoor communication
It is well known that, in order to accurately predict the behaviour of steel structures a requirement the definition of the mechanical behaviour of beam-to column joints is of primary importance. This goal can be achieved by means of the so-called component method, which, in order to obtain the whole behaviour of connections, provides to break up joints in basic components of deformability and resistance. One of the main joint components used to model bolted connections is the so-called equivalent T-stub in tension, which is normally used to predict the behaviour of bolted plates in bending starting from the behaviour of the single bolt rows. In past decades, significant research efforts have been devoted to the prediction of the behaviour of bolted T-stubs but, to date, no particular attention has been devoted to the characterization of their plastic deformation capacity. To this scope, the work presented in this paper, taking into account the existing technical literature, proposes a new theoretical model for predicting the whole behaviour up to failure of bolted T-stubs under monotonic loading conditions, including some complexities, such as the bolt/plate compatibility requirement and the bolt fracture, which are necessary to accurately evaluate the ultimate displacement. After presenting the advances of the proposed approach, a comparison between theoretical and experimental results is provided in order to verify its accuracy.
This paper investigates the sound insulation performance of the fiber sandwich panels for a tilting train. Due to the high strength and low mass, fiber sandwich panels are widely used for aircraft structures, railway vehicle structures. These fiber sandwich panels show orthotropic behavior because of the fiber's structural characteristics. This orthotropy often reduces the critical frequency and makes negative effect on the sound insulation performance. In this study, transmission loss of the fiber panels is analyzed based on the equivalent orthotropic plate model. An analysis program is developed to calculate the transmission loss of the fiber sandwich panels. Using the program, the coincidence frequency ranges and their effects on the transmission loss are investigated.
