내진설계를 위한 지진 입력하중 조정 방법 (Method of the Calibration of earthquake Ground Motions for Seismic Design)

  • In the current seismic design codes design earthquake is usually defined as the earthquake with the 90 percent probability of not being exceeded in the life time of a structure which is assumed as 50 years equivalent to the earthquake with 475 year recurrence period. However the life time of tall building structures may be much longer than 50 yers. The current seismic design code requires the modal analysis or dynamic time history analysis for the buildings with the height exceeding a certain height limit. The objective of this study is to collect the earthquake ground motion(EQGM) which can be used for dynamic time history analysis for tall buildings. For this purpose linear elastic design response spectrum (LEDRS) in the code is scaled to account for the recurrence period of the design earthquake. The earthquake ground motions which has been recorded are calibrated to fit the scaled LEDRS. The set of calibrated EQGM can be treated as design EQGM for the design of tall building with longer lifetime than ordinary building.

  • The aging characteristics of vulcanized rubber products manufactured in Korean industries have been studied, especially in terms of relationship between aging temperature and time, and also the comparison of results between Geer's oven testing and tube testing was made. It was assessed from changes in tensile properties resulting from conditioning at elevated temperatures for specified period of time. Even though the recipe of each sample is different, the results, as would be expected, has shown that at lower aging temperature the change of tensile strength indicate moderately and at the elovated severely as shown in Figure 9. Consequently, in spite of that the results from conditioning at various temperatures for certain specified period of time must be equivalent to each other, it shows inignorable tolerance. The results of Geer's oven test and tube test have shown slightly different value. It seemed to be caused by the result of migration phenomena on aging in Geer's oven.

  • In order to make reliable earthquake-resistant design of civil engineering structures, one of the most important considerations in a region with high seismicity is to pay attention to the local soil condition of regions. It is aimed in the current study at specifying dynamic soil characteristics of Kirikkale city center conducting the 1-D equivalent linear and non-linear site response analyses. Due to high vulnerability and seismicity of the city center of Kirikkale surrounded by active many faults, such as the North Anatolian Fault (NAF), the city of Kirikkale is classified as highly earthquake-prone city. The first effort to determine critical site response parameter is to perform the seismic hazard analyses of the region through the earthquake record catalogues. The moment magnitude of the city center is obtained as $M_w=7.0$ according to the recorded probability of exceedance of 10% in the last 50 years. Using the data from site tests, the 1-D equivalent linear (EL) and nonlinear site response analyses (NL) are performed with respect to the shear modulus reduction and damping ratio models proposed in literature. The important engineering parameters of the amplification ratio, predominant site period, peak ground acceleration (PGA) and spectral acceleration values are predicted. Except for the periods between the period of T=0.2-1.0 s, the results from the NL are obtained to be similar to the EL results. Lower spectral acceleration values are estimated in the locations of the city where the higher amplification ratio is attained or vice-versa. Construction of high-rise buildings with modal periods higher than T=1.0 s are obtained to be suitable for the city of Kirikkale. The buildings at the city center are recommended to be assessed with street survey rapid structural evaluation methods so as to mitigate seismic damages. The obtained contour maps in this study are estimated to be effective for visually characterizing the city in terms of the considered parameters.

  • 본 연구는 in vivo 와 유사한 환경을 조성하여 기존의 기관 배양기간인 7일보다 연장하려는 연구이며 세포가 있는 경우 세포가 없는 경우보다 morphology나 길이 성장 면에서도 모두 우수한 결과를 나타냈으며 minoxidil 첨가실험을 통해 DE를 이용한 모델이 단순 액침배양보다 한 단계 진보된 hair growth model 임을 확인할 수 있었다.

하천유역의 설계 홍수량 결정을 위한 P.M.P.의 산정 및 적용 (PMP Estimation and Its Application for the Design Flood Determination in River Basin)

  • 본연구는 하천유역에 있어서, 대규모 수공구조물의 설계홍수량 결정을 위한 최대가능강우량(PMP)분석 및 적용에 그 목적이 있다. PMP는 수문기상학적 방법,통계학적 방법, 포락선 방법으로 산정하였으며, 최대가능홍수량(PMF)은 합성단위도법과 Chow 방법으로 산정하였다. 각 방법에 의한 PMP를 비교해 본 결과, 통계학적 방법, 수문기상학적 방법, 포락선 방법의 크기 순으로 나타나고 있음을 알 수 있었으며, 산정된 PMP를 기왕의 최대강우량과 비교해 본 결과 수문기상학적 방법이 기상학적 제요소를 고려한 방법이 가장 타당한 방법이라고 사료된다. 산정된 PMP 및 PMF를 확률 수문량과 비교해 본 결과 수문기상학적 방법 및 통계학적 방법은 재현기간 1000년 확률 수문량을 다소 상회하는 것으로 나타났으며, 포락선 방법은 재현기간 200∼500 년 확률 수문량에 접근하고 있음을 알 수 있었다.대규모 수공 구조물의 설계에 있어서 위험도를 고려할 경우에는 PMP로부터 PMF를 산정하는 것이 타당할 것이다.

중온 혐기성 연속회분식 공정에 의한 도시하수슬러지의 소화가능성 평가 (Application of Anaerobic Sequencing Batch Reactor to Mesophilic Digestion of Municipal Sewage Sludge)

  • Laboratory experiments were carried out to investigate the performance of anaerobic sequencing batch reactor(ASBR) for digestion of a municipal sludge. Each cycle of the ASBR comprised feeding, two-or three-day reaction, one-day thickening, and withdrawal. The reactors were operated at an HRT of 10days and 5days with an equivalent organic loading rate of 0.8-1.54 gVS/l/d, 1.81-3.56 gVS/l/d at 35$\circ$C, respectively. Solids accumulation was remarkable in the ASBR during start-up period, and directly affected by settleable solids in the feed sludge. Floatation thickening occured in the ASBRs, and Solids profiles at the end of thickening step dramatically changed at solid-liquid interface. Slight difference in solids concentrations was observed within thickened sludge bed. Efficiencies through floatation thickening were comparable to that of additional thickening of the completely mixed control reactor. Average solids concentrations in the ASBRs were 2.2-2.6 times higher than that in the control throughout the total operation period. The dehydrogenase activity had a strong correlation with the solids concentration. Organics removals based on clarified effluent of the ASBRs were consistently above 86%. Remarkable increase in equivalent gas production of 27-52% was observed at the ASBRs compared with the control though the control and ASBRs showed similiar effluent quality. Thus, digestion of a municipal sludge was possible using the ASBR in spite of high concentration of solids in the sludge.

Distribution and evolution of residual voids in longwall old goaf

  • In this paper, simulation tests were conducted with similar materials to study the distribution of residual voids in longwall goaf. Short-time step loading was used to simulate the obvious deformation period in the later stage of arch breeding. Long-time constant loading was used to simulate the rheological stage of the arch forming. The results show that the irregular caving zone is the key area of old goaf for the subsidence control. The evolution process of the stress arch and fracture arch in stope can be divided into two stages: arch breeding stage and arch forming stage. In the arch breeding stage, broken rocks are initially caved and accumulated in the goaf, followed by the step deformation. Arch forming stage is the rheological deformation period of broken rocks. In addition, under the certain loads, the broken rock mass undergoes single sliding deformation and composite crushing deformation. The void of broken rock mass decreases gradually in short-time step loading stage. Under the water lubrication, a secondary sliding deformation occurs, leading to the acceleration of the broken rock mass deformation. Based on above research, the concept of equivalent height of residual voids was proposed, and whose calculation equations were developed. Finally, the conceptual model was verified by the field measurement data.

체위변경이 간동맥 화학색전술 환자의 요통, 불편감, 출혈 합병증에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Position Change on Low Back Pain, Discomfort, and Bleeding after Transarterial Chemoembolization)

  • Purpose: This study was to test the effects of the positional change on low back pain, discomfort, and bleeding complications during the period of bed rest following transarterial chemoembolization (TACE). Methods: The research design for this study was a non-equivalent control group quasi-experimental design. The participants were 23 patients for the experimental group, and 23 patients for the control group. The experimental group received positional change of taking the semi-Fowler's position and the 30-degree lateral position alternatively during the period of bed rest after TACE for 4 hours at one-hour intervals. The control group maintained the supine position continuously during the period of bed rest after TACE. Results: There were statistically significant differences in low back pain and discomfort between the experimental and the control group after intervention. And no significant difference was found in bleeding complication between two groups. Conclusion: The results of the study suggest that the positional change is an effective nursing intervention to reduce low back pain and discomfort without increasing the risk of bleeding after TACE.

보건소 등록 고혈압 환자에게 실시한 사례관리 프로그램의 효과 (The Effect of Case Management Program for Hypertensive Patient)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of case management service for hypertensive elderly patients through the customized visiting home health care program. Method: Non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design was employed. Data were collected from April 2007 to January 2009. Among a total of fifty subjects, 25 subjects were belonged to the case management group and the others were belonged to the general management group. Results: 1) In experimental group, significant increasing rate of number of people within normal blood pressure by time, but no significant increasing rate of number of people within normal blood neutral fat, total cholesterol, HDL, & LDL. 2) In experimental group, the score of knowledge about disease and healthy life practice were increased on 8 week period but decreased on follow up period. Number of people within normal blood HDL and mean score of healthy life practice were significantly higher than control group on follow up period. Conclusion: Case management service was effective on controlling blood pressure but partly effective on blood lipid, knowledge about disease, and healthy life practice in hypertensive patients. Further study is needed to conduct a periodic re-evaluation of the effect of case management and to verify an optimal interval to provide the case management service.

Development of Site Classification System and Modification of Design Response Spectra Considering Geotechnical Characteristics in Korea

  • Site response analyses were performed based on equivalent linear technique using shear wave velocity profiles of 162 sites collected around the Korean peninsula. The site characteristics, particularly the shear wave velocities and the depth to the bedrock, are compared to those in the western United States. The results show that the site-response coefficients based on the mean shear velocity of the top 30m ($V_{S30}$) suggested in the current code underestimates the motion in short-period ranges and overestimates the motion in mid-period ranges. The current Korean code based on UBC is required to be modified considering site characteristics in Korea for the reliable estimation of site amplification. From the results of numerical estimations, new regression curves were derived between site coefficients ($F_{a}\;and\;F_{v}$) and the fundamental site periods, and site coefficients were grouped based on site periods with reasonable standard deviations compared to site classification based on $V_{S30}$. Finally, new site classification system and modification of design response spectra are recommended considering geotechnical characteristics in Korea.
