소성 조건 변화에 따른 수직 폴리이미드 표면에서 이용한 네마틱 액정의 틸트 제어 (Control of Tilt Angle in the Nematic Liquid Crystal on the Homeotropic Polyimide Surface as a Function of the Baking Condition)

  • The control of tilt angle for nematic liquid crystal (NLC) with negative and positive dielectric anisotropy on the rubbed homeotropic polyimide (PI) using baking method by hot plate equipment was investigated. LC tilt angle decreased with increasing baking temperature and time. Especially, the low LC tilt angle of positive type NLC (Δ$\varepsilon$>0) on the rubbed homeotropic PI surface by increasing temperature and time was measured. The tilt angle of positive type NLC(Δ$\varepsilon$>0) is smaller than that of the negative type (Δ$\varepsilon$>0) on rubbed PI with increasing baking temperature and time. We consider that the tilt angle of NLC is decreased due to increasing the steric interaction between horizon component of permittivity $\varepsilon$ = of NLC and the stress of polymer side chain by high temperature. As the increase of baking temperature, we obtain that AFM (atomic force microscope) image of rubbed PI surface using Hot-plate method has formed better solid micro-groove structure than oven method.

Structural integrity of a 2.5-MW spar-type floating offshore wind turbine under extreme environmental conditions

  • The main objective of this study was to establish design guidelines for three key design variables (spar thickness, spar diameter, and total draft) by examining their impact on the stress distribution and resonant frequency of a 2.5-MW spar-type floating offshore wind turbine substructure under extreme marine conditions, such as during Typhoon Bolaven. The current findings revealed that the substructure experienced maximum stress at wave frequencies of either 0.199 Hz or 0.294 Hz, consistent with previously reported experimental findings. These results indicated that the novel simulation method proposed in this study, which simultaneously combines hydrodynamic diffraction analysis, computational dynamics analysis, and structural analysis, was successfully validated. It also demonstrated that our proposed simulation method precisely quantified the stress distribution of the substructure. The novel findings, which reveal that the maximum stress of the substructure increases with an increase in total draft and a decrease in spar thickness and spar diameter, offer valuable insights for optimizing the design of spar-type floating offshore wind turbine substructures operating in various harsh marine environments.

식생 및 해안표착물에 의한 비사 퇴적 풍동실험 연구 (A Study on Wind-drift Sand Deposition by Vegetation and Coastal Debris using a Wind Tunnel Test)

  • 본 논문에서는 낙동강 하구역 진우도 자연해빈을 대상으로 해안표착물과 식생대 전선의 상관성 및 상호거동에 대하여 연구하였다. 해안표착물과 식생대 주변의 비사에 의한 퇴적 특성을 고찰하기 위해 현장 바람과 바닥조건을 고려하여 실내 풍동실험을 수행하였다. 본 연구에서 고려하는 주요 영향은 해안표착물과 식생대 주변의 바람에 의한 모래의 퇴적현상이다. 해안표착물에 대한 실험결과로서, 모형 전면부터 퇴적되고 퇴적된 높이가 모형의 70% 정도 퇴적되었을 때 모형 후면이 퇴적되는 양상이 나타났다. 이에 반해, 식생을 대상으로 한 실험에서는 모형 전면보다 후면이 먼저 퇴적되고, 후면이 전면보다 60%정도 더 높게 쌓이는 양상이 나타났다.

간호대학생의 방문이동목욕 봉사경험 연구 (A Study on Nursing Students' Volunteer Experience in Visiting Ambulatory Bathing Service)

  • Purpose: 'The purpose of the present study was to understand students' experiences from their standpoint, to identify relevant variables and to examine into their relations by analyzing and describing what phenomenon 'nursing students' visiting ambulatory bathing service' is, what are the reasons for the phenomenon, and what interactions are in the phenomenon. Method: The subjects were thirteen students. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed by Strauss and Corbin's analysis method. Result: With regard to ambulatory bathing service, participants responded 'lack of education', 'inexperienced personal relations' and 'disappointment with recipients families'. They recognized 'burden' and 'compassion'. The intensity of generated 'burden' and 'compassion' was determined by volunteering persons, the degree of health care service, recipients' response and interaction of climate. When 'burden' and 'compassion' were generated, participants selected their own coping strategies. Strategies in the situation of 'burden' and 'compassion' were significantly influenced by 'burden' and 'compassion' and structural situation - 'mutual relation structure,' 'volunteers' capability,' 'the degree of volunteering guidance,' 'community participation,' 'recipients' environment,' 'information sharing,' 'special vehicle equipment' and 'economical burden.' Strategies include' service training,' 'receiving volunteering training,' 'preliminary service preparation,' 'volunteering.' 'connection to local medical center,' 'intention,' 'information sharing,' 'passive response to recipients' appreciation' and 'the understanding of publicity'. The results of selected 'burden' and 'compassion' are described with 'worthiness' and 'cohesion' as follows. Conclusion: This study is significantly meaningful in that it examined bathing service welfare in its initial stage. There are not much outcome from previous studies. However. it is meaningful that this study intended to develop theories on the nature of experiences and the relations among concepts derived from the visiting ambulatory bathing service process of nursing students. Professors who taught social volunteering in universities understood the experience of nursing students who did the visiting ambulatory bathing service. Consequently, professors will provide an effective instruction to enable these students to carry out visiting ambulatory bathing services efficiently in order to meet demands when they conduct the services. For the volunteering service activity in major-related fields among college students' social volunteering activities, they recognized the necessity of systematic education and preparation.

비상디젤발전기의 회전체 및 구조물 해석적 건전성 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study of Analytical Integrity Estimations for the Structure and Rotor System of an Emergency Diesel Generator)

  • 이 논문에서는 비상디젤발전기의 구조물 및 내부 회전체에 대한 건전성 평가를 위한 해석적 방법을 제시한다. 비상발전기는 원자력발전소 안전과 관련된 매우 중요한 기기로써 지진과 같은 비상사태에 원전의 안전 정지를 위한 관련 기기에 비상 전원을 공급한다. 비상발전기의 회전기 부분 또한 지진과 같은 충격에도 안전성을 확보해야 한다. 비상발전기 본체에 대한 모달 해석을 하여 공진 주파수가 지진 주파수 영역에 있는지를 확인하여 응력 해석의 방법을 정했다. 회전체 부분의 안전성은 저널 베어링의 필름 두께와 임계 회전수를 계산하여 최소 유막 요구치와 운전속도와 비교하여 안전성을 판단하였다. 계산된 응력해석의 최대치는 허용치보다 작았으며, 저널 베어링의 유막과 회전수 또한 안전한 범위에 들었다. 이 논문에서는 저널 베어링의 안전해석에 지진하중을 정적 하중으로 보았으나 향후 연구에 있어서는 지진하중의 동적 특성을 회전체에 적응하는 새로운 해석적 방법의 개발이 필요할 것으로 사료된다.
