수지 혼합비가 FRMLs의 피로균열전파거동과 기계적 성질에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (Study on the Effect of Resin Mixture Ratios on the Fatigue Crack Propagation Behavior and Mechanical Property in a FRMLs)

  • FRMLs(Fiber Reinforced Metal Laminates) is a new type of hybrid materials. FRMLs consists of high strength metal and fiber which are laminated using a structural adhesive bond(epoxy resin). The effect of resin mixture ratios on the fatigue crack propagation behavior and mechanical property of Aramid fiber reinforced aluminum composites was investigated. The epoxy, diglycidylether of bisphenol A(DGEBA) was cured with methylene dianiline(MDA) with or without accelerator(K-54). Eight kinds of resin mixture ratio were tested for the experiment ; five kinds of FRMLs(1))epoxy & curing agent) and three kinds of FRMLs(2)(epoxy & curing agent & accelerator). FRMLs(2) have a more effective characteristics on the fatigue crack propagation behavior and mechanical property than FRMLs(1)

열을 받은 에폭시 수지 모르터의 강도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Strengths of Epoxy Resin Mortar under Heat Exposure)

  • The major objective of this study was to investigate the heat resistance of epoxy resin mortar. For this purpose, these tests of compressive and bending strength were accomp- olished with various heating temperature (40˚C, 60˚C, 80˚C, 100˚C, 120˚C), and with various mixing ratio (1: 2, 1: 4, 1: 6, 1: 8, 1:10, 1:12, 1:14). The exprimental resin was to be Epi-Bis type epoxy resin, which is widely used as construction materials. The results obtained are summarized as follows; 1. The variations of color tone started to begin at 60˚C, and it has come out very heavy at 120˚C. It was assumed that the decrement of weight resulted from carbonization were about 0.22% at 100˚C, and about 0.34% at 120˚C. 2. The compressive and bending strength were increased with temperature rise up to 80˚C, but these were made rapid decrease when the given temperature was over. And so, the mean decrement of compressive and bending strength at 120˚C reached up to 35.5% and 26.4%, respectively. 3. The regression equation between compressive and bending strength for epoxy resin mortar under heat exposure were obtained as follows; od=0. 371oc+39. 23 (r=0. 986) And the estimated value of bending strength was corresponded to about 37 percent in comparing with that of the compressive strength. 4. Consquently, the heat resistance temperature of epoxy resin mortar was to be around 80˚C, and it was generally very low values. But it was regarded that the epoxy resin mortar will not be difficult with materials of civil engineering works and agricultural structures.

포스파젠 유도체에 의해 경화된 에폭시수지의 내수.내약품성 (Resistance to Chemicals and Water of Epoxy Resin Cured with Phosphazene Derivatives)

  • 1, 1-diamino-3, 3, 5, 5-tetrachlorocyclotriphosphazene, 1, 1-diami-no3, 3, 5, 5-tetra-(p-bromophenoxy)cyclotriphosphazene, and 1, 1-diamino-3, 3, 5, 5-tetra-(p-chlorophenoxy) cyclotri-phosphazene(ACPP) was prepared from hexachlorocyclotriphosphazene and used for the curing agent of bisphenol A type epoxy resin and phenol novolak. The resistance to chemicals and water of the cured epoxy resins were examined by DMTA and compared with those of the epoxy rosins cured with phosphazene derivatives and 4, 4'-diaminodiphenylmethane. The effect of the curing agent on resistance to chemicals and water of the cured epoxy resins were investigated. The epoxy resins cured with 1, 1-diamino-3, 3, 5, 5-tetrachlorocyclotriphosphazene and 1, 1- diamino-3, 3, 5, 5-tetra- (p-bromophenoxy)cyclotriphosphazene showed superior resistance to chemicals and water to those of 1, 1-diamino-3, 3, 5, 5-tetra- (p-chlorophenoxy)cyclotriphosphazene and 4, 4'-diaminodiphenylmethane. It is an effective curing agent for epoxy resins to enhance the resistance to chemicals, water and tome proofing.

유전기법을 이용한 복합재료 기지재의 경화 모니터링 (Cure monitoring of a composite matrix by dielectrometry)

  • Dielectrometry has been used to monitor the cure of epoxy resin using composite matrix. In this investigation, physical properties of the mixture of epoxy resin(LY564), bisphenol A type, and cycloaliphatic hardener(HY 2954) were observed. Activation energy at maximum tan $\delta$ and gelation point was determined during isothermal scanning. From IonViscosity data, it was found that vitrification peak after gelation was appeared on slow heating rate. It was also measured that the duration time for full cure was necessary and it was about 24 hr at $145^{\circ}C$. Therefore, epoxy resin used in this research is required the extended time for full cure.

  • This study worked on the synthesis of waterborne polyurethane/epoxy hybrid resins containing aminosilane compound to replace conventional phenol resins used for a coating material for loudspeaker dampers, which are not harmful to human being. Waterborne polyurethane resins were synthesized from two diisocyanate of 4,4'-diphenylethane diisocyanate and toluene diisocyanate, two polyols of polyester polyols(PEP), polycarbonatediol(PCD), including and anionic center of dimethylol butanoic acid, a chain extenders of ethylenediamine(EDA), and a neutral agent of triethylamine. Synthesized polyurethane resins and commercially available bisphenol A type waterborne epoxy resin were blended in weight ratios of 80:20 to prepare polyurethane/epoxy hybrid resins. The synthesized waterborne polyurethane/epoxy hybrid resins were reacted with aminosilane compound to improve mechanical properties. Aminosilane-treated polyurethane /epoxy hybrid resins showed better mechanical properties.

Rehabilitation of exterior RC beam-column connections using epoxy resin injection and galvanized steel wire mesh

  • The efficacy of a galvanized steel wire mesh (GSWM) as an alternative material for the rehabilitation of RC beam-column connections damaged due to reversed cyclic loading was investigated. The repair mainly uses epoxy resin infused under pressure into the damaged zone and then confined using three types of locally available GSWM mesh. The mesh types used herein are (a) Weave type square mesh with 2mm grid opening (GWSM-1) (b) Twisted wire mesh with hexagonal opening of 15 mm (GSWM-2) and (c) welded wire mesh with square opening of 25 mm (GSWM-3). A reduced scale RC beam-column connection detailed as per ductile detailing codes of Indian Standard was considered for the experimental investigation. The rehabilitated specimens were also subjected to similar cyclic displacement. Important parameters related to seismic capacity such as strength, stiffness degradation, energy dissipation, and ductility were evaluated. The rehabilitated connections exhibited equal or better performance and hence the adopted rehabilitation strategies could be considered as satisfactory. Confinement of damaged region using GSWM-1 significantly enhanced the seismic capacity of the connections.

도자기 복원용 저황변 Epoxy 수지의 개발 및 물성에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Development and Physical Properties of Low Yellowing Epoxy for Ceramic Preservation)

  • 도자기 복원용으로 가장 많이 사용되고 있는 에폭시 복원제는 높은 접착력, 저수축, 고강도 등의 조건을 충족시키지만 에폭시 수지(Epoxy resin) 자체의 황변 현상으로 인하여 복원 후 시간이 경과함에 따라 복원부의 색이 변하는 단점을 지니고 있다. 본 연구에서는 도자기 복원용으로 사용되고 있는 에폭시 수지(Epoxy resin)의 문제점인 황변 현상을 대폭줄인 저황변 및 접착력과 고강도를 가진 복원제를 개발하고자 하였다. 기존 에폭시 재료 중에 도자기 복원 재료로 많이 사용되고 있는 EPO-TEK301$^{(R)}$, L30$^{(R)}$, XTR-311$^{(R)}$ 등과 비교하여 접착력과 강도 등의 물성을 가지면서 황변성이 거의 없는 복원제를 개발하고자 하였다. 접착력은 개발된 수지가 2.51 MPa를 나타내도록 하여, 최고의 접착력을 나타내는 XTR-311$^{(R)}$ 2.30 MPa를 능가하도록 하였으며 1.21 MPa를 나타내는 EPO-TEK301$^{(R)}$이나 1.81 MPa을 나타내는 L30$^{(R)}$보다 약 2 배의 접착력을 나타내 도록하였다. 특히 에폭시 수지(Epoxy resin)가 지니고 있는 황변 현상 실험 결과 ${\Delta}E^*ab$ 색상 변화량의 변화 값이 10 ~ 25 정도의 변화량을 나타내고 있지만 개발된 저황변 에폭시 수지(Epoxy resin)의 경우 원액 기준 ${\Delta}E^*ab$ 색상 변화 값이 8.3으로 기존의 재료들 보다 1 ~ 3 배 정도 황변 현상을 줄여 황변 현상으로 인한 색상의 변화에 따른 이질감에 대한 문제점을 해결하였다.

가역성이 우수한 도자기 복원용 Urethane resin의 개발 및 물성에 대한 연구 (Study on the Development and Properties of Ceramics Restoration Purpose Urethane resin with Excellent Reversibility)

  • 현재 토기 및 도자기를 보존처리 할 때 사용되고 있는 접착 복원제의 경우 크게 Epoxy계, Cellulose계, Cyanoacrylate계 등이 사용되고 있으나 재료에 따라 심한 수축으로 인한 재탈락, 황변 현상으로 인한 색상 변화, 사용시 도구와 손에 묻어나오는 불편한 작업성, 비가역성 등 다양한 문제점을 나타내고 있다. 본 연구에서는 도자기 복원용으로 사용되고 있는 Epoxy resin의 황변 현상과 비가역성의 문제점 해결을 목적으로 저황변, 가역성이 우수한 Urethane계 합성수지를 개발하였다. 개발된 Urethane resin의 접착력은 원액 2.07MPa로 기존 재료인 $EPO-TEK301^{(R)}$ 1.21MPa로 1.5배 이상의 우수한 물성을 지니고 있다. 가공성 측정 결과 Urethane resin(in Talc 50wt%)의 마모율이 1.09%로 기존 재료인 Quick $Wood^{(R)}$(1.02%)의 마모율 보다는 다소 높게 측정되었으며, EPO-$TEK301^{(R)}$(0.41%)와 $L30^{(R)}$ (0.39%)보다 는 2배 이상의 마모율을 보이고 있어 기존의 재료보다 쉽게 성형 과정이 이루어질 수 있는 장점을 지니고 있다. Urethane resin의 장점인 가역성 실험은 Acetone, Ethyl Alcohol 침적 후 12시간 경과 후 Urethane resin과 충전제인 Talc가 분말화 현상을 나타내며 100% 용해되었으며, 기존 Epoxy resin의 가역성이 0%인 것에 비해 매우 우수한 가역성을 지니고 있다. 내구성 평가를 위한 자외선 실험 결과 Urethane resin의 원액 기준 ${\Delta}E^*ab$ 색상 변화 값이 자외선 노출 전 후 2.76로 기존의 Epoxy resin보다 약 7~20배 정도 줄어 황변 현상으로 인한 이질감의 문제점을 최소화하였다.

환경친화형 에폭시계 분체도료의 조성구축 연구 (Study on the Compositional Construction of Epoxy Based Powder Paint)

  • 본 실험은 에폭시계 분체도료의 물성에 영향을 미치는 에폭시 수지, 경화제, 충전제 및 안료 의 최적 조성 결정에 대한 연구이다. 본 연구에서 사용된 에폭시계 수지의 경화 시스템은 Diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A (DGEBA)와 경화제로 dicyan diamide (DICY)를 사용하였다. 코팅 재료의 경화거동과 유변물성은 DSC와 레오메터를 사용하여 조사되었다. 또한 코팅재료의 스틸에 대한 접착력은 lap shear 실험을 이용하여 조사되었다. 연구 결과에 따르면 에폭시계 분체도료의 최적 조성은 에폭시계 수지 기준으로 DICY 6 phr, $CaCO_3$ 20 phr 및 $TiO_2$ 10 phr 이었다.

Resin Transfer Molding을 이용한 공기 압축기용 스크류로터 제작에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Manufacturing of Screw Rotors for Air-Compressors Using RTM Process)

  • Screw rotors are core parts of screw type air compressors, compressors in refrigerating machines and super chargers of automobiles etc. They are composed of a female and a male rotors which have complex section profiles and helically swept geometry. Screw type compressors have advantages of low noise, high efficiency, less needs in maintenance etc. Usually, machining process of screw rotors requires long machining time using CNC machine designed only for screw rotors, which increase the cost of production. In this work, the screw rotors for air-compressors were manufactured with fiber reinforced epoxy composite materials by resin transfer molding process. The mold for the RTM process was made of aluminum and silicon rubber and was designed for release of helical shape products. Composite screw rotors, manufactured by RTM process, have advantages of lightweight, less cost of production, good characteristics of vibration etc.
