On the basis of sustainable long-term water resources planning, the development of ground water resources should be interlocked with the surface water development In considering the intertemporal equity, overpumping of groundwater may diminish or eliminate the groundwater resources stock of post-generations. Regulatory landuse zoning for groundwater resources recharge area is indispensable measures to prevent groundwater pollution. Adequate treatment of polluted water from various sources such as municipal sewage, industrial wastewater, landfill site leachate, and abandoned boring wells, is also necessary for groundwater protection. To preserve groundwater resources as common property goods, groundwater use tax should be imposed upon the large scale groundwater use. Finally, the establishment of groundwater development license system is recommended to achieve the social optimal production and to avoid external diseconomy.

Apartments, having advantages of providing high density in limited area, are now booming in these days in Korea. However, most of the apartments are monotonus and all alike in the siteplan. As a result, they we in lack of humanity for the Apartment residents. The subject of this study is analysis and development of the site planning and design trends in Apartment Complexes in the official sector. In order to suggest the new planning and Design method, the study has analyzed the Apartment complexes exemplary, that have built in recent 10 years in Seoul districts. As a results a environmentally friendly planning and design in Apartment complexes estates as a new paradigm for environmentally sound sustainable development. Apartment Unit Plans have few Flexibility and Variability in the inner space.

This study was carried out to introduce current status to discuss erosion control strategy for the conservation of stream valley ecosystem. To restore stream valley ecosystem, we should establish restoration plans to keep the original shape of stream. It is necessary to use environmentally sound materials with conservation of valley stability. Valley construction for erosion control works should be evaluated continuously based on concepts of conservation and development of stream valley ecology. It is categorized in point of the important of class of stream valley conservation ahead planning and constructure. We suggest that the development of stream valley construction needs to prevent mass movement of soil sediments. In addition, it is established the basal strategy to protect macro and micro aquatic organisms in stream valley ecosystem.

Life Cycle Assessment(LCA) and Design for Environment(DfE) method were applied to design the environmentally sound manufacturing process of f31k lift in this study. Not only external movement of LCA and DfE method in the legal and systemic phase, but also active researches of those in the development phase of case study and application to the industrial field, have been going on. In concretely, the manufacturing processes of the folk lift generating the most environmental impact were examined by applying LCA method, and the environmentally sound manufacturing process was designed by applying, DfE method to the processes. As the results of LCA, environmental impacts for the eco-toxicity and human toxicity of seven major environmental categories were in high value, and so be in the cutting & welding process and painting process among the manufacturing processes. High solid paints, increasing the solid content of the existing solvent paints used in painting process, were developed to reduce the environmental impacts generated in the painting process. By utilizing the high solid paints, about 20% of environmental impacts (as environmental index of LCA) could be reduced.

1970년대 지구적 차원의 에너지 부족, 인플레이션, 과도한 경제성장 그리고 환경보전에 대한 관심고조는 자연환경과 경제활동에 대한 지금까지의 양상과는 다른 인식전환을 요구하였다. 1992년 Rome Club에서 발표된 "Limits to Growth"에서 인류에 대한 위기를 지적, 우리의 미래에 대한 Sustainability의 개념은 새로운 이슈가 되었다. 1992년 $\ulcorner$리우환경선언$\lrcorner$ 에서 앞으로 인류가 나아가야만 하는 미래의 방향으로 ESSD(Environmentally Sound and Sustainable Development)를 제시하였다. 한국의 경우, 환경에 대한 고려는 최근까지도 정부의 경제성장 우선 정책에 의해서 뒷전으로 밀려나 있었다. The main purpose of this study is to research ways for waste reduction in manufacturing, materials regeneration and clean production in apparel manufacturing in Taiwan, in order to achieve 3E: Efficiency, Economy and Environmental Protection. Specifically, this study hopes to address the following three areas: (1) To study the processing technologies which can turn apparel wastes to resources (2) To increase the efficiency in the use of energy and resources in apparel production (3) To establish a system for improving the recovery from unwanted apparel in Taiwan, in order to improve environmental protection and to reduce pollution.

최근에 들어와서 환경문제에 대해서는 일반인들의 관심을 끌기에 충분할 정도로 사회적 관심도가 높아져 있다. 1992년 리우환경정상회의 이후 거세게 불고있는 ESSD (environmentally sound and sustainable development)는 환경과 개발을 상충이 아닌 공존의 시각에서 보도록 요구하고 있으며, 이에 따라 건물에서 에너지와 환경문제를 동시에 해결하기 위한 방안이 등장하게 되었으며, 그 기술개발과 보급의 중요성이 국내에서도 최근에 크게 증대되고 있다. 안전하고, 쾌적하고, 에너지와 자원을 절약하면서도 주변환경에 부담을 주지 않고, 편리함을 추구할 수 있는 건물에 대한 요구사항은 21세기의 주된 이슈라고 볼 수 있다. A current environmental issue, 'Enviromentally Sound and Sustainable Development(ESSD)' is very important in that it is for our common future. Environmental education is essential as a long-term strategy to realize sustainable environments and society. So we developed a new program about ESSD. The purposes of development were as follows. First, introduce ESSD to students, second, make them know ESSD appropriate to our nation, third, make change from economy-centered thoughts to environmental economy-centered thoughts, ultimately make form behaviors related to ESSD. To verify the effects of new developed program, the direct learning was carried out by 212 students in total. Post test scores of experimental groups were significantly higher than those of control groups about four goals, respectively. Therefore this program is effective to achieve four goals of environmental education for ESSD.
