크롬환원제와 인산염으로 처리된 6가 크롬 오염토양의 고정화 (Immobilization Characteristics of Hexavalent Chromium Contaminated Soils Treated with Phosphate and Chromium Reducing Agent)

  • Hexavalent chromium-contaminated soils are encounted at many unregulated discharge and improper handling of wastes from electroplating, leather tanning, steelmaking, corrosion control, and wood preservation industries. Contamination of hexavalent chromium in the soil is a major concern because of its toxicity and threat to human life and environment. Current technologies for hexavalent chromium-contaminated soil remediation are usually costly and/or cannot permanently prohibit the toxic element from entering into the biosphere. Thus, as an alternative technique, immobilization is seen as a cost-effective and promising remediation technology that may reduce the leachable potential of hexavalent chromium. The purpose of this paper is to develope an immobilization technique for the formation of the geochemically stabilized hexavalent chromium-contaminated soil from the reactions of labile soil hexavalent chromium forms with the added soluble phosphate and chromium reducing agent. From the liquid phase experiment, reaction order of chromium reducing agent, soluble phosphate, alkali solution shows the best removal efficiency of 95%. In addition, actual soil phase experiment demonstrates up to 97.9% removal efficiency with 1:1 molar ratio of chromium reducing agent and soluble phosphate. These results provide evidence for the potential use of soluble phosphate and chromium reducing agent for the hexavalent chromium-contaminated soil remediation.

  • 태양광 및 풍력단지 건설 운영 사례에서 나타나는 환경 사회적 갈등들을 통하여 그 원인을 분석하고, 국내외의 긍정적인 건설 운영 및 갈등 조정 사례들을 분석하여 갈등의 최소화 방안 및 제도적 보완책을 모색하였다. 국내 태양광 및 풍력단지의 건설 운영 사례에서 나타나는 갈등은 지역 환경 훼손, 발전 시설에 따른 직접적인 피해, 발전 사업에 따른 지역 이익의 부재, 환경규제 및 관리상의 문제가 주된 원인이며, 이의 해결을 위한 방안으로 발전 사업 지침 개선 및 강화, 주민 수용성 확보, 사업설명회 규정 강화, 이해당사자의 참여 확대 방안 및 대안 입지와 해상풍력의 조속한 시행을 제시하였다. 이들 방법을 통해 신재생에너지기본계획 중 태양광 및 풍력에너지의 목표, 환경의 보호 및 보전 그리고 주민수용성 향상을 달성할 수 있다.

Aad의 대안적 역할에 대한 탐색적 연구 : 환경 관여도와 메시지 방향성을 중심으로 (An exploratory study of Aab alternative role: In consideration of environment level of engagement and message direction)

  • This study aimed to explore how the involvement of environment influenced eight subjects group. Thus, experiment was performed to clarify the role that the attitude of university student consumer plays in the communication process depending on the level of engagement of consumer in the environment and method to raise donation for preservation of environment. Analyzing as per the type of appeal, the mark in altruistic appeal type was higher in all variables than egoistic appeal type. Finally, checking the average mark of each variable as per the condition of donation, the value in unconditional donation was higher than in all variables than conditional donation. It was found 3 groups composed of 2 groups with high level of environmental engagement and 1 group with low level of environmental engagement were suitable to double mediation model among the 8 experimental groups. The group where double mediation model best corresponds than any other group was high level related to environment and the group that contacts altruistic appeal and the message in the form of conditional donation. It was also found that the group that has low level of environmental engagement and contacts egoistic appeal type and conditional donation shows the group that corresponds to double mediation model in the second place among the 8 groups. Finally, it was found that the group that has high level of environmental engagement and is stimulated by altruistic appeal and unconditional donation corresponds to double mediation model. Depending on the condition of message stimulation, unconditional donation is found to better correspond to double mediation model than conditional donation. However, opposite phenomena is observed when the level of environmental engagement is high and appeal type is egoistic. Namely, it was found that conditional donation better corresponds to double mediation model than unconditional donation.

친환경간척농지개발과 우리농업 (Phil-Environmental Tide Land Reclamation and Korean Agriculture)

  • In Korea, It was natural and inevitable to reclaim tidal land for farming due to over-population in small territory. Looking back upon the history of tidal land reclamation in Korea, We can find the first case of it in 13th century KangHwaDo(Island), and also find several records of small scale reclamations of western sea-coast from Korea dynasty to Chosun dynasty. A lot of wide fertile agricultural areas on western sea-coast have been developed through tidal land reclamation for about 1000-year after Korea dynasty. and on these areas, we have produced rice which we live on. An average areas of farming land per capital in korea is only 0.04ha, which is one sixth of global average. For water resources, similarly, capacity of water resources alloted to one person is $11{\%}$ of global average. So, without supplementary water development, we will have suffered from a severe deficiency of water Therefore we must prepare for these predictable short water and food problems. and tidal land reclamation may be suitable alternative to settle these problems. However, tidal land reclamation is a work of closing estuary, intercepting sea water inflow, developing a freshened estuary lake and farming lands etc. therefore it apparently causes a change of ecosystem, water quality and littoral environment. Nowadays, widely recognized the importance of environmental preservation, it is desirable or requested to make phil-environmental and sustainable development minimizing the environmental influence due to tidal land reclamation project. In this paper, the role of tidal land reclamation project in the development process of Korean agriculture was reviewed and the direction of afterwards tidal land reclamation project was suggested.

농업용저수지를 이용한 환경생태유량 확보방안 경제성 비교 연구 - 동복천을 중심으로 - (A Economic Feasibility Study on Environmental Ecology Flow Supply Plan using Agricultural Reservoir - Focused on Dongbok River -)

  • The environmental ecological flow (EEF) of stream or river will be designated according to the enforcement of the Water Environment Preservation Act. Previous researches by Ministry of Environment have proposed agricultural reservoirs as alternative resources to secure river flow where multi-purpose dam does not exist. However, agricultural reservoirs are constructed for the supply of agricultural water, and in fact, there is not a sufficient amount of water to be supplied to rivers as EEF. Therefore, this study examines the economic feasibility of securing EEF through the remodeling or construction of agricultural reservoirs. We investigated water balance of reservoir through simulation of three types of water supply demands such as agricultural water, agricultural water and river maintenance flow, and agricultural water and environmental ecology flow. The economics analysis was conducted on water supply demands and corresponding remodeling or construction of reservoirs. As a result, it was found that the method of securing through heightening existing reservoir enhancement is economically feasible. However, it was not possible to secure all the amount of the EEF due to the size limitation of existing reservoirs or constrain of the watershed for newly built reservoir. Therefore, in order to secure all of the EEF, the utilization of other alternatives as well as agricultural reservoirs should be considered. This study demonstrated the method of economical feasibility study of securing river maintenace flow and EEF using agricultural reservoirs and other considerations.

미세조류 동결보존 기술 개발의 최근 연구 동향 (Recent Research Trends of Cryopreservation Technology Based on Microalgae Chlorophyta)

  • 미세조류 연구는 18세기 후반부터 시작된 이후 생물산업에서 가장 중요한 생물자원으로 인식되어 왔다. 특히 미세조류의 산업 활용에 초점을 맞춘 식품/사료 및 생리 활성 화합물에 대한 초기 주요 연구 분야는 현재 대체 에너지 자원, 탄소 배출 저감 및 폐수 처리를 포함한 환경 연구 분야로 더욱 확대되고 있다. 하지만 그 산업적 활용의 중요성에도 불구하고 미세조류 배양의 장기 보존과 관련된 기초 연구 분야는 많은 주목을 받지 못하고 있다. 그러나 생물학적으로 활성을 띄는 안정적인 미세조류 배양체 보존은 이러한 미세조류의 산업적 활용을 더욱 부각시킬 수 있는 핵심적인 성공요소이다. 따라서 본 총설은 조류(algae)의 분류체계에서 가장 큰 분류군을 차지하는 녹조류(Chlorophyceae)를 포함하여 현재까지 개발된 다양한 최첨단 미세조류 냉동보존기술을 조사하였다. 또한, 국내 생물자원은행 및 국제 미세조류 자원은행에 기탁된 생물학적으로 활성을 띄는 미세조류 배양체를 보존·유지하기 수행하고 있는 보존 기술과 함께 동결보존 시 온도조절 효과, 보존제 효과 등 미세조류의 성공적인 동결보존 기술과 관련된 주요 요인들을 조사하였다. 본 연구를 통해 확인된 결과를 살펴보면, 미세조류의 형태 및 생리학적 다양성으로 인해 현재로서는 범용적으로 사용할 수 있는 표준 미세조류 장기 보존 방법이 없다는 것을 확인하였다. 따라서, 이러한 문제를 극복하기 위해서는 미세조류의 분류학적 체계를 명확하기 위한 종 특이적 바이오마커의 개발과 종 특이적 동결보존 방법에 기반한 체계적인 접근을 위한 기초 연구 분야에 대해 훨씬 더 많은 노력이 필요함을 확인하였다.

Current methodologies in construction of plant-pollinator network with emphasize on the application of DNA metabarcoding approach

  • Background: Pollinators are important ecological elements due to their role in the maintenance of ecosystem health, wild plant reproduction, crop production and food security. The pollinator-plant interaction supports the preservation of plant and animal populations and it also improves the yield in pollination dependent crops. Having knowledge about the plant-pollinator interaction is necessary for development of pesticide risk assessment of pollinators and conservation of endangering species. Results: Traditional methods to discover the relatedness of insects and plants are based on tracing the visiting pollinators by field observations as well as palynology. These methods are time-consuming and needs expert taxonomists to identify different groups of pollinators such as insects or identify flowering plants through palynology. With pace of technology, using molecular methods become popular in identification and classification of organisms. DNA metabarcoding, which is the combination of DNA barcoding and high throughput sequencing, can be applied as an alternative method in identification of mixed origin environmental samples such as pollen loads attached to the body of insects and has been used in DNA-based discovery of plant-pollinator relationship. Conclusions: DNA metabarcoding is practical for plant-pollinator studies, however, lack of reference sequence in online databases, taxonomic resolution, universality of primers are the most crucial limitations. Using multiple molecular markers is preferable due to the limitations of developed universal primers, which improves taxa richness and taxonomic resolution of the studied community.

탄소 균형과 1차식에 의한 대체 연료의 공연비 산정법 (Air Fuel Ratio Determination Method for Alternative Fuel Based on Carbon Balance and Linear Equation)

  • 본 연구에서는 탄소 균형 및 1차식에 의한 공연비 산정방법을 대체연료에 적용하여 그 결과를 비교하였다. 이전의 연구에서는 Eltinge 차트의 확장, 미연탄화수소의 보상 및 다양한 방법으로부터 계산한 결과를 비교하였다. 또한 Eltinge 방법은 현재 공연비를 산정하는 방법 중 가장 일반적인 식이라는 것을 확인하였다. 그러나 최근 지구온난화 방지를 포함하여 환경 보호와 에너지보존에 대한 요구가 증가하면서 내연기관에 대체연료를 사용이 도입되기 시작하면서 이러한 대체연료들에 대한 공연비의 정확한 산정이 필요하게 되었다. 특히, 산소를 포함하는 연료에서는 Eltigne방법을 제외하고 모든 공연비 산정법들이 다시 유도되어야한다. 이 연구에서는 이미 그 정확성이 확인된 탄소균형식을 이용하여 대체연료의 공연비를 산정하기 위해 다시 유도하였고, 각 대체 연료에 실제로 적용이 가능한 1차식을 새로이 제시하였다. 평가 결과, 탄소균형식으로 계산한 공연비는 가솔린 연료와 비교하여 다소 오차가 증가하였지만, 그 정확도는 다양한 대체 연료들에 적용하기에 충분하다는 결론을 얻었다. 또한, 제시된 1차식은 $\lambda=1.2$이하에서는 그 정확도가 매우 높았다.

자연환경 평가 - I.식물군의 선정 - (Assessment of Natural Environment - I. Selection of Plant Taxa -)

  • 본 연구는 현행 환경영향평가의 식물상 항목에서 내제되어 있는 여러 문제점의 대안으로써 환경평가를 위한 식물군을 제시하였다. 이들은 어느 특정한 지역공간의 자연환경 우수성의 정도와 종보존 우선순위를 파악하고 결정하는 데 이용될 수 있다. 구계분석을 통하여 선택된 식물군은 그들의 분포범위에 따라 5개의 등급으로 구분하였다. 제V등급은 고립하거나 혹은 불연속적으로 분포하는 식물로 41과 76속으로 83분류군이 이에 해당한다. 제 IV등급은 1개의 아구에만 분포하는 식물로 78과 217속으로 314분류군이 해당되며, 제III등급은 2개의 아구에 나타나는 식물로 93과 223속으로 307분류군이 이에 딸린다. 제II등급은 비교적 국내의 전 아구에 분포하지만 일반적으로 1,000m이상의 높은 산지에 나타나는 식물로 43과 92속으로 109분류군이 이에 속하고, 제I등급은 3개의 아구에 나타나는 식물로 91과 207속으로 258분류군의 집합체로 환경평가를 위한 식물군은 142과 559속으로 도합 1,071분류군으로 집계되었다. 결론적으로 제V등급 식물군은 분포하는 면적이 가장 협소하기 때문에 다른 등급 식물군에 비해 구조적으로 환경 변화에 도태될 가능성이 가장 크다.

발아증진 및 소독을 위한 물리적 방법을 이용한 종자처리 기술 (Physical Seed Treatment Techniques for Germination Enrichment and Seed Sterilization)

  • Since seeds can be directly used as food resources as well as for crop cultivation or preservation of genetic resources, it is essential to develop high-quality seed processing technology to increase agricultural productivity. Seed treatment means processing technologies of seeds through physical or chemical treatment processes from after harvesting seeds to before sowing of seeds to improve germination and growth rate, durability, and immunity, etc. Since chemical seed treatment technology using pesticides or plant growth regulators has problems of environmental pollution and human toxicity, it is desired to develop an alternative technology. As a physical seed treatment method, various technologies such as ionizing radiation, plasma, microwave, and magnetic field are being developed, and some of them are being used practically. In this paper, I will summarize the mechanism of seed priming and disinfection, and the advantages and disadvantages of application, focusing on these physical seed treatment methods. Low dose or moderate intensity ionizing radiation, microwave, low-temperature plasma, and magnetic field treatments often promoted seed germination and seedling growth. However, effective removal of direct seed pathogens at these treatment intensities appears to be difficult. And it has been shown that relatively high-dose electron beam treatment using low-energy electron beams kills microorganisms on the seed surface and hull layer while not damaging the inner tissue of the seed, and is also effectively used for seed treatment on a commercial scale. In order to put the physical seed treatment technology to practical use in Korea, it is necessary to develop an economical scale treatment device along with the development of individual treatment technology to each crop.
