Construction industry has been participated in the effort for the reduction of environmental pollution such as introduction of green building certification, enactment of environment related regulation. However these efforts are focused on the design and maintenance phases of entire life cycle, construction phase that can occur intensive environmental impact in a short period is insufficient. Therefore this study aim to derive environmental management factors in construction phase and assess them using reliability analysis and factor analysis. As a results, the 20 factors was classified into 4 superordinate such as 'plan and supervision', 'environmental factor management', 'licensing management', 'surrounding environment management'.Based on result of this study, further study should be developed the checklist for effective environmental management in construction phase.

Chemical industry has contributed significantly to the enhancement of quality of human life, but it has been regarded as a major area of environmental problem due to the potential hazards in environment and safety. This paper examines environmental management programs of chemical industry such as RC(Responsible Care) and PRTR(Pollutant Release and Transfer Register). Through the survey of Dow Chernical's environmental management system, it is examined in detail how a leading company in chemical industry has coped with environmental problem companywide.

ndustrial development began to cause serious pollution problems. Most of the environmental problems are related with operations of industrial companies. Environmental problems should be considered at all the stages of business activities or processes, from product design to new forms of packaging, from marketing to disposal. This paper suggests that how to cope with environmental issues is an important factor in the global market, and environmental management has become one of the key success factor. Through the survey of P&G's environmental management, it is intended to provide a chance to benchmark or give a cue on how to conduct the environmental management.

Vast quantities of environmental pollutants from construction projects are causing significant damage to nearby local communities and thus generate environmental complaints. The construction company, responsible for compensating and resolving environmental complaints, suffers economic damages due to additional expenditures and schedule delays in construction projects. Meanwhile, the construction industry can stagnate from a broader perspective. Therefore, this study aimed to propose a framework for developing an automated management system which consists of two models for environmental complaints in construction projects: (i) the prediction model: a model for predicting environmental complaints based on factors related to environmental complaints; and (ii) the prevention model: a model for providing construction companies with the optimal prevention measure to effectively prevent environmental complaints according to the results of the prediction model. In addition, the algorithm for integrating the developed models into the management system in construction projects was proposed. Eventually, the application of the management system to construction projects can ensure the profitability of construction companies and mitigate damage from environmental pollutants to the nearby local community.

This research empirically investigated the influence factors on the activation of environmental innovations (EI) in Korean manufacturing firms. In this study, external factors (compulsory demand, government regulation, normative pressure and imitative pressure) and internal factors (environmental resources, top management support, integration of environmental tasks, capabilities of environmental personnel, and environmental strategy/environmental management systems) were totally considered. The results of a multiple regression analysis showed that influence factors such as top management support, environmental resources and integration of environmental tasks have a significant and positive impact on levels of EI. However, the effects of external factors were not statistically significant. We also examined whether capabilities of environmental personnel as well as environmental resources, which are directly related with degrees of EI, have a moderating impact on relationships between other internal factors and levels of EI. With a subgroup analysis, the moderating role of abilities of environmental personnel were empirically confirmed. Through a multiple regression analysis, the direct effects of external factors on the adoption or construction of internal factors were demonstrated. The effects of government regulation, normative pressure and imitative pressure on internal factors were significant and positive. It was also found that external factors have indirect effects on EI through internal factors. Finally, the results of multiple regression analyses indicated that EI positively influences the achievement of environmental competitive benefits, and environmental competitive advantages can improve the organizational performance of a firm.

The current Total Pollution Load Control (TPLC) sets the Target Water Quality (TWQ) by utilizing the delivery ratio, unit loads, and water quality modeling, it also allocates the watershed's permitted discharge load. Currently, common target pollutants of every unit watershed in TPLC are BOD and T-P. This study has reviewed the 1th and 2th of TWQ setting process for the Nakdong River 3th TWQ setting in Total Pollution Load Control (TPLC). As a result of review, 1th and 2th were divided into one management basin (mulgeum) for setting management goals. However, 3th was divided into six management basins (mulgeum, gnagjeong, geumho river, nam river, miryang river, end of nakdong river). The principle of management goal setting were to achieve the objective criteria of Medium Areas for the linkage of the water environment management policy. And Anti-Degredation (principle of preventing deterioration) were applied to the 3th TWQ. Also, additional indicators were considered in accordance with the reduction scenarios for the final management goals.

본 연구는 공분산 구조방정식 분석기법을 이용하여 환경경영전략, 환경경영시스템, 환경경영활동, 환경경영성과 간의 구조 관계와 상호 영향의 정도를 실증적 자료를 통해 규명하는 데 목적이 있다. 특히 환경경영전략 유형에 따라 이들 요소들 간의 구조 및 영향이 어떻게 달라지는지 규명하는데 연구의 초점을 둔다. 적극형 환경전략유형의 경우 환경경영시스템, 환경경영활동, 환경경영성과 모두에 정 (+)의 유의한 영향을 주었다. 그러나 소극형 환경전략유형의 경우 환경경영시스템, 환경경영활동에는 유의한 영향을 주었으나, 환경경영성과에는 유의한 영향을 미치지 못하였다.

We study on the dynamic interaction with a simulated physical-biological coupled model response to nutrient reduction scenario in Jinhae Bay. According to the low relative errors, high regression coefficients of COD and DIN, and realistic distribution in comparison to the observation, our coupled model could be applicable for assessing the marine ecosystem response to nutrient input reduction in Jinhae Bay. Due to the new construction and expansion of sewage treatment plant from our government, we reduce 50% nutrient inputs near Masan Bay and sewage treatment plant. COD achieves Level II in Korea standard of the water quality from the middle of the Masan Bay to all around Jinhae Bay except the inner Masan Bay remaining at Level III. When our experiment reduces 50% nutrient inputs near Masan Bay and Dukdong sewage treatment plant simultaneously, COD decreases to about 0.1-1.2 mg/L $(128^{\circ}30'{\sim}128^{\circ}40'\;E,\;35^{\circ}05'{\sim}35^{\circ}11'\;N)$. The COD from the middle of the Masan Bay to Jinhae Bay achieves Level II.

Although the role of information systems (IS) on environmental sustainability much attention, the coordination between green practices and environmental management information systems (EMIS) in a firm remains unexplored area in environmental management and IS disciplines. This study elaborated the antecedents of the coordination between green practices and EMIS and then examines the links among them. Also, this study investigated the links from the coordination between green practices and EMIS to firm's environmental performance. The results showed that both attitudes of managers who are responsible for a firm's green practices and their support had direct effects on the coordination between green practices and EMIS. Also, consistent with environmental management literature, the study provides a better understanding of the relationship between the coordination between green practices and EMIS and environmental performance.

Under WTO we are confronted with the upcoming of the infinite competition and the opening of education market. In order to meet such new changes, more and more university in education industry participate in the certification of ISO 14000. This paper presents an effective approach to obtain the ISO 14001 environmental management system, summarized as follows: First, the top manager should understand the environmental problems and motivate all personnels. Second, a systematized environmental management system should be constructed in accord with actual circumstances of firms, and should be improved continuously by means of effective operation, internal audit and management review. Third, an environmental policy should be published, the environmental programs should be established following an environmental objective, target and they should be monitored regularly.
