Need of Dormitory Environment Improvement and School-life Stress in the Special-purpose high school according to Residential Satisfaction in Dormitory and Housing (기숙사와 자가의 주거환경 만족도에 따른 특목고의 기숙사 환경개선 요구도 및 학교생활 스트레스)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence the need for improvements to dormitory environments and to study the stress from school-life according to residential satisfaction in dormitories and housing. For the purpose of this study, a survey was conducted including a questionnaire consisting of a residential satisfaction scale, a need of dormitory environment improvement scale, and a school-life stress scale. The subjects were 453 special purpose students in Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do who all live in a dormitory. Factor analysis, Cronbach' $\alpha$ and MANOVA were employed for data analysis, and Scheffe test was used for post-hoc analysis. First, the lower group the satisfaction of a physical residential environment in a dormitory, the more likely it is that the dormitory environment need improvement. The result of this study suggests that dormitory students are much more sensitive to conditions relating to physical residential satisfaction than to sociopsychological residential satisfaction. Also, the residents believe that change to these physical residential conditions facilitate an improvement to sociopsychological residential satisfaction. Moreover, when the satisfaction of a physical residential environment is lower group, more perceptive stress occurs from academic, health and personal factors while a lower satisfaction for the sociopsychological residential environment results in a more perceptive stress from the environment. The result of this study suggests that dormitory conditions indicate the necessity of improving the environment to adapt well to school-life, thus reducing stress. Also when simply providing a supplementary physical residential environment the sociopsychological residential environment should be considered, as this can cause conflicts between roommates. Second, the lower group the satisfaction for a physical residential environment in housing, the more likely it is that the dormitory environment need improvement. The result of this study suggests that for environments of inadequate housing there is a strong urge towards needing more independence and a better living environment. Third, when group feel there is a more substantial difference in the physical residential environment between dormitories and housing, it is more likely it is that the dormitory environment need to be improved. Also, when they feel there is more substantial difference in the sociopsychological residential environment between dormitories and housing, a more perceptive stress is detected from the environment. The result of this study suggests that dormitory students want to have the same level of conditions as those provided in housing. Also, dormitory students want to need more physical environment improvement than sociopsychological environment improvement.

  • Architectural design for school can be completed well when the environment-friendly elements are satisfied. In other words, the environment-freindly element could be most important idea for school planning, and one should have this direction for each element as a design goal. In this study, I defined the "environment-friendly" as the environment for nature and human. I examined what could satisfy those and would be its principles. I set up the criteria to satisfy each priciple. Most important factor to keep the relation between nature and human would be reducing carbon dioxide emissions, and a green belt would absorb it. Therefore, I think that there would be effective possibility when suitable conditions are applied in phases. Every school can have comfort as environment-friendly facility, at the same time, contribute to nature. Also, students can learn and study nature, and perform a duty as human.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the actual condition of environment conscious logistics system which is essential to make material recycling economic society. Environment conscious logistics management which means simple recycling tends to promote material reduction, reuse and recycling. We have made some case studies about advanced environment conscious logistics system. To examine Korean companies,' environment-conscious logistics practices we made a survey form which contains 81 questions and asked companies to respond. Thus we have the analysis from the survey responses. As a result of this study, we propose the way of constructing environment conscious logistics system in Korea.

  • Environmental problems caused by rapid industrialization and environmental issues have emerged worldwide. The Green Building Certification Policy has been introduced. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the environment-friendly planning factors in Environment-friendly Housing Certification. Six multi-family housing in Environment-friendly Housing Certification have been analyzed. The findings of this study are as follows. While outdoor planning factor is focused on building arrangement and ecological environment, its application in building material and environment plan is inadequate. In ecological environment, various green planting systems such as green zone and plant inhabitation area are utilized.

The Utilization of Environment-Friendly Agricultural Products of College Students in Seoul and Incheon Areas (경인지역 대학생의 친환경농산물 이용실태)

  • The purpose of study was to investigate the utilization of environment-friendly agricultural products of the college students attending nutrition education. The subjects were 387 college students (male 53.2%, female 46.8%) at universities in the Seoul and Incheon areas. A cross-sectional study was conducted by a self-administered questionnaire. The percentage of subjects who purchased environment-friendly agricultural products was 37.2%. The most purchased environment-friendly agricultural products were vegetables. The main reason for preferring the environment-friendly agricultural products was good for health (53.7%). Also, the main motive of purchasing the environment-friendly agricultural products was for health (87.5%). For the quality of the environment-friendly agricultural products, they answered 'safety' (4.19), 'freshness' (4.03) and 'nutrition' (3.90), respectively. For college students' right choices of environment-friendly agricultural products, information and consumer education on these products are necessary.

  • This study discusses the concept on environment-friendly textile products, environmentally oriented processes of fiber and fabric production, and case reports of environments-friendly products. This study may inspire recognition and necessity of environment-friendly textile products to textile industry and designers ,and also develop the consideration of environmental aspects in the field of textile design and fashion design. Environment-friendly textile products mean not only natural products but also the products reduced the environmentally harmful consequences of their production processes. Because the textile production processes may cause environmental problem. the processes of bleaching, dyeing, mercerising, proofing, and establishing must be carefully controlled. These environment-friendly textile products in this study are divided into development of environment-friendly textile products, recycled textile products, products which are produced by environmentally oriented processes, and recycling capacity in the process of the coming into use. If the textile industrialists and its designers are continuously interested in those environment-friendly products, the textile industrialists produce environment-friendly products in manufacturing process, and the textile and the fashion designers design their products having the conciousness of environment. They reduce environmental pollution caused by producing textile products and are survived in the struggle of existence of the future world trade market.

Heterogeneity of Variance by Sex in Postweaning Gain of Angus Calves under Different Environment Levels

  • Angus postweaning daily gain (PWDG) were analyzed to investigate heterogeneous variance by sex. A set of data (16,239 records) was divided into six sub-data sets according to level of environment. REML estimation was conducted by a multitrait model, where PWDG in each sex was treated as a separate trait. Estimates showed diversity among environmental levels, where the heritability for heifers was high in good environment but low in poor environment. The bull's estimates varied among environmental levels. The largest heterogeneity of phenotypic variance between sexes was estimated in a data set of the poor environment level. The genetic correlations between the heifer's PWDG and the bull's PWDG were high in the good environment and low in the poor environment (-0.17). The results suggest existence of genotype by sex interaction in the poor environment.
