대학입학전형 관련 요인에 따른 간호학과 1학년의 학업성취 분석 : 일 대학 간호학과를 대상으로 (Nursing Student Academic Achievement depending on College Entrance System-related Factors)

  • Purpose: This study aims to understand the influence of college entrance system-related factors and scores of college scholastic ability test on a first year nursing student's academic achievement. Method: Data collected include both a descriptive survey designed to assess college entrance system-related factors with respect to 182 nursing students attending a 4-year nursing college program and their test scores in the first year. The data were analyzed via descriptive statistics, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis test with Bonferroni's correction, and Spearman's rank correlation coefficient through an SPSS 18.0 program. Results: Student academic achievement with regard to college entrance system-related factors exhibited significant divergence from first year grade point averages (hereafter GPA) and natural science grades. Conclusion: This study confirmed the existence of significant differences, depending on the factors regarding the college entrance system. As a result, conducting assessment to evaluate the level of basic knowledge before college entrance is highly recommended. Also recommended is the development of a support program for students projected to have difficulties with respect to their academic achievement.

영국, 호주, 일본의 대학입학 수학시험 개정 (Revisions of University Entrance Exams of Mathematics in the UK, Australia, and Japan)

  • 본 연구에서는 최근에 대학입학 수학시험 개정이 발표된 영국, 호주, 일본의 개정 사례를 통하여 우리나라 대학입학 수학시험의 개정에 대한 시사점을 얻고자 하였다. 영국의 A-level 시험은 순수수학과 응용수학의 조화를 이루는 방향으로 개정되어 각 시험의 과목 및 내용이 조정되고, 문항 유형의 변화가 예고되었다. 호주 NSW주의 대학입학 시험은 기본적으로 수학을 강화하는 교육과정 개정 방침에 발맞추는 방향으로 개정되고 있다. 일본의 대학입시센터 시험은 고등학교와 대학을 연결시키는 교육 개혁의 일환으로 새로운 시험을 도입한다. 새로운 수학 시험에서는 이해력, 판단력, 표현력을 강조하고 수기식 단답형 문항이 출제된다. 이와 같은 영국, 호주, 일본의 사례를 바탕으로 본 연구에서는 우리나라 대학입학 수학시험의 목적과 성격, 시험 체제와 문항 유형, 학계의 뒷받침에 관하여 논하였다.

RFID 이용 돈사 출입 자동관리 시스템 개발 (Developement of a RFID Enterance Control System for Biosecurity of Pig Farm)

  • 정부의 축산업 및 축산차량 등록제 실시로 인하여, 양돈농가에서는 의무적으로 출입구에 차단장치를 설치하여야 하며 출입기록을 관리하여야 한다. 또한, 양돈장의 생물보안을 위해서도 출입인원과 차량, 동물 등의 양돈장 출입과 소독기록 등을 관리하여야한다. 본 연구에서는, RFID와 웹서버 시스템을 이용한 양돈장 출입차단 및 기록장치를 개발하였다. 사람의 출입관리를 위하여 13.56MHz의 접촉식 RFID 시스템을 개발하였으며, 차량 출입관리를 위해서는 900MHz RFID 시스템을 이용한 차량인식 시스템을 개발하였다. 시험결과 시스템 작동, 인식, 웹서버 데이터 저장 등의 성능이 양호한 것으로 판단되었다. 이후, 차량 출입시스템과 사람 출입 및 소독기록장치를 연동하여 시험을 실시하였으며, 기록된 데이터는 전용 프로그램을 이용하여 웹서버의 DB에 저장하였다. 성능시험결과, 출입관리와 데이터관리에 문제가 없는 것으로 판단되었다.

간호학생의 학업성적과 성격 검사와의 상관연구 (A Study of the Correlation between Academic Achievement and Personality test in a Nursing College)

  • I. Purpose of the study An ultimate objectives of entrance examination for the selection of students by the nursing school is to evaluate their abilities and readiness for the further study as a competent and professional nurse at the college. As a method to measure the above mentioned achievement Inchon Nursing College conducts personality test in addition to the college made entrance examination. The study amid to find out the correlation between personality test and academic achievement including clinic nursing practice through analysing the data and affecting factors for the purpose of improvement and desirable entrance examination system. II. Content and Method of the study Selected experimental groups were 36 students who were admitted to the college in 1973 and 35 senior students who enrolled in the second semester in 1976. Gathered date, personality test achievement academic achievement record in the college and achievement of clinic nursing practice, from the total number of 71 students were analysed for the clarification of their correlation. III. Findings of the study 1. It was revealed that the correlation between the entrance examination achievement and personality test was meaningful. 2. Found no significant correlation between personality test and academic achievement through 3 years. 3. It was revealed the meaningful correl, n between personality test and clinic nursing practice. 4. The most dominant affecting elements for the academic achievement was the 2 nd year academes achievement showing 91.39%. Approximately 8% were affecting for the 1 st year and 2 nd year academic achievement by the entrance examination achievement and personality test. 5. Achievement of clinic nursing practice was greatly affected by the 2 nd year clinic nursing practice with 81.26%. Achievement of the 3 rd year clinic nursing practice and personality test were affecting with approximately 15%.

약학대학생들의 입학전형요소와 학업성취도의 상관관계에 관한 연구 (Relationship between Entrance Qualifications and Academic Performance of Pharmacy Students)

  • Background: A new admission procedure was introduced to Korea when Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D.) program was first established in 2011. In the new procedure, applicants are reviewed based on quantitative qualifications, which include Pharmacy Education Eligibility Test (PEET) scores, Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) scores, and grade point average (GPA), as well as qualitative qualifications such as essay writing, extracurricular activities including volunteer experiences. Purpose: This study aimed to find relationships between entrance qualifications and academic performance of pharmacy students. Method: Entrance qualifications and academic performance of 164 first-year students were analyzed from 2011 to 2013 at Catholic University of Daegu. Other characteristics such as age and gender were also considered in the study. Results: Only GPA and TOEIC scores showed positive Pearson correlation with academic performance, while PEET scores did not. Conclusion: GPA and TOEIC scores could potentially have predictive validity for academic performance in pharmacy school. PEET scores, however, should simply be considered as pre-entrance qualifications, without predictive validity for academic performance.

간호원의 근무성적 예측에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Possibility of Predicting Nurse′s Efficiency after Graduation.)

  • This study was made to assess the possibility of predicting the nurses efficiency after graduation in college through their entrance examination and general attitude test results and their academic records. It was observed that generally nurses with the highest academic records were the most efficient in their work after graduation while those with high general aptitude test results came next although their college entrance examination results were comparatively low. Therefore it could be deduced from this study that college entrance examination results alone could not be depended upon in predicting the nurse's working efficiency after bet graduation.

  • 본 연구에서는 내경이 각각 8.5mm와 10.3mm이며 무차원길이가 각각 710과 1158인 두 개의 시험관을 사용하는 유동장치를 제작하여 시험관 입구에서부터 유체역 학적 경계층(hydrodynamic boundary layer)과 열적 경계층(thermal boundary layer)이 동시에 발달하기 시작하는 경계조건을 형성하고 관벽에서 일정한 열 플럭스(constant heat flux)를 발생하는 조건을 부여하였다. 퇴화현상(degradation)에 대하여 비교적 안정성을 가진 폴리아크라마이드(polyacrylamide) Separan Ap273을 수도물에 용해하여 제조한 폴리머용액으로 유동특성과 열전달특성을 실험하여 열적입구길이와 열전달특성 을 규명하고자 한다.

재수생의 건강 위해행위와 관련요인 (Health Risk Behaviors and Related Variablesin Students Rewriting College Entrance Examinations)

  • Purpose: To provide basic information for developing a nursing program by examining health risk behavior of students rewriting college entrance examinations. Method: Data were gathered using questionnaires from 804 examinees in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province and analyzed with the SAS program using t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, and Pearson correlation coefficients. Results: The mean score for health risk behaviors was 17.70 and the highest score for sub-areas of health risk behavior was drinking alcohol while substance use ranked lowest. There were significantly different scores for health risk behavior according to the following general characteristics; frequency of rewriting college entrance examinations, parents' marital status, level of father's education, grades, satisfaction with rewriting of college entrance examinations, parents' health concerns, need for health education and health status. Each behavior had positive or negative correlation with more than one other behavior. A negative correlation was found between health risk behavior and family support and self-esteem, while positive correlations were found between health risk behavior and general stress, studying stress and anxiety. Conclusion: This study suggest that these results be used to developed a prevention program to decrease health risk behaviors by promoting family support and self esteem and decreasing stress and anxiety.

Analysis of the Predictive Validity of College Entrance Criteria

  • Korea Military Academy has been using College Scholastic Ability Test(CSAT) and High School Grades(HSG) with other measures such as an Essay-type Test(ET), Physical Test(PT) and Personal Interview(PI) as criteria for entrance. The purpose of study is to investigate the properness of the criteria in admission decisions by examining the relationship between the college GPA and criteria, and the prediction of academic performance. The study showed that CSAT and HSG are significantly correlated with the college GPA, and these two criteria are better predictors for academic performance. Regression analysis also provided an important message that HSG is a better predictor than CSAT.

아로마 흡입이 고3수험생의 고3증후와 피로에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Aroma Therapy on Exam Syndromes and Fatigue in Grade 12 Students Preparing for College Entrance Exams)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of aroma therapy on exam syndromes and temporary fatigue of senior high school students who are preparing to take college entrance exams. Method: This study was a pre-experimental research using a one-group pre-post test design and was conducted between April and July 2003 with 35 high school students. A pre-post test was used to measure long-term exam syndromes and temporary fatigue during the first period of school. Paired t-test was used. Aromas were given using an aroma electrical lamp, aroma necklet with basic oils of rosemary and lemon. According to the condition of the students, one or two oils were added: peppermint, pine, eucalyptus and Clary-Sage. Results: After two months (May, June), the result of administering aroma therapy to senior high school students showed in June there was a decrease in principal exam syndromes such as eye fatigue, headache, shoulder pain, neck stiffness, back pain, and common cold, and there was an increase Un study concentration during the two months. However, in May, there were no significant effects. The reason may have been a strong extraneous factor from midterm exams that would affect their college entrance. Conclusion: According to these results, if we use aroma oil carefully, with evidence-based applications, aroma therapy can have a positive effect on senior high school students who are preparing for the college entrance exams.
