  • The computational fluid analysis was carried out to investigate structural stability of exhaust duct for turboprop engine. In order to calculate the thrust and shear force acting on the flight condition of the aircraft, the flow in the exhaust duct and the flow in the direction of the exhaust duct flange were analyzed by Fluent software to obtain thrust, shear force and bending moment. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that the allowable loads set idle engine manual were not exceeded.

  • In our research we have offered a solid solution for aeronautical analysis. which can guarantee the asymptotic stability of coupled nonlinear facilities. According to the theoretical solutions and methods presented, the engine of this aircraft is a small high-bypass turbofan engine. using the non-linear aero-motor control approach and this paper focuses on the power management function of the aero-motor control system. These include static controls and transient controls. A mathematical model of the high-bypass-ratio two-spool unmixed-flow aeroengine was developed through a set of nonlinear dynamic equations verified by experimental data. A single actuator using the displacement method is designed to maintain a certain level of thrust under steady-state conditions. and maintains repeatable performance during transient operation from the requested thrust phase to the next. A single controller can compensate for the effects of noise and harmonic noise at many performance points. And the dynamic performance of a single controller is satisfactory during the transient. for fairness Numerical and computer experiments are described in the perfection of the methods we offer in research.

  • Supersonic and hypersonic aircrafts must pass wide range of speed to reach high speed region. But for existing engines the most efficient operating speed ranges are decided according to their flying speed, so an engine which mixes several engines like TRJ (Turbo Ramjet) and ARJ (Air Turbo Ramjet) has been planed. This mixed type engine has inefficiency that more than two engines must be installed simultaneously, but the pulse detonation engine (PDE) that uses detonation wave has a strong point that it can operate in all speed range with single engine. This paper deals with the simulation of the pulse detonation engine which uses hydrogen peroxide $(H_2O_2)$ mono propellant. Hydrogen peroxide is low-cost propellant, and it is reacted without oxidizer. Comparison between $H_2-O_2$ mixture with $H_2O_2$ mono propellant about thrust, pressure, temperature and velocity shows that $H_2O_2$ is a very useful propellant.

  • Design and fabrication of a sub-scale thrust chamber for verification of 7 tonf-class thrust chamber injectors were described in this paper. The 7 tonf-class thrust chamber consists of mixing head with 90 coaxial swirl injectors and regeneratively combustion chamber cooled by kerosene. The coaxial swirl injectors with different pressure drop and recess number were designed for 7 tonf full-scale thrust chamber. By applying the designed injectors to the sub-scale thrust chamber before applying them to the full-scale thrust chamber, the injector performance and functioning were verified. The sub-scale thrust chamber consists of 19 injectors, has chamber pressure of 70 bar, total propellant mass flow rate of 4.3 kg/s, mixture ratio(O/F) of 2.45.

  • This paper presents the numerical thermal analysis for regeneratively cooled rocket thrust chambers. An integrated numerical model incorporates computational fluid dynamics for the hot-gas thermal environment, and thermal analysis for the liner and coolant channels. The flow and temperature fields in rocket thrust chambers is assumed to be axisymmetric steady state which is presumed to the combustion liner. The heat flux computed from nozzle flow is used to predict the temperature distribution of the combustion liner. As a result, we present the wall temperature of combustion liner and the temperature change of coolant.

  • A turbo fan engine performance analysis program combined with a particle swarm optimization(PSO) has been developed to optimize the major design parameters of the combat aircraft gas turbine engine. The optimized parameters includes bypass ratio, fan pressure ratio, high pressure compression ratio and burner exit temperature. The objective parameters have been determined using a multi-objective function consisting of the net thrust and specific fuel consumption along a weight function. The basic model for the combat aircraft gas turbine engine has been selected as the F404 turbofan engine which is widely used in the combat aircraft, F-18 and Korean high level training aircraft, T-50. The optimal conditions of four parameters have been obtained for various design conditions.

  • A prestudy on expendable turbine engine for high-speed vehicle was conducted. The two possible mission profiles were established to decide the engine requirements and Design Point, and Design Point analysis was performed with the values of design parameter which were obtained from similar class engines and technical references. The results showed that Specific Net Thrust is 2599.4 ft/s and Specific Fuel Consumption is 1.483 lb/($lb^*h$) at the flight condition of Sea Level, Mach 1.2. It was also found through the performance analysis on the two possible mission profiles that major design parameters for determining Net Thrust were Turbine Inlet Temperature for low supersonic flight speed and Compressor Exit Temperature for high supersonic flight speed. In addition, simple turbojet engine with axial compressor, straight annular combustor, axial turbine and fixed throat area converge-diverge exhaust nozzle was proposed as the configuration of simple low cost light engine.

  • The present paper describes the first development of a LOX/kerosene type turbopump in Korea. The liquid rocket engine, that the turbopump can be applied to, has a 30-ton(metric) level of vacuum thrust and employs a gas generator cycle. The turbopump consists of two single-stage centrifugal pumps, that is, LOX and kerosene pumps, and one single-stage impulse turbine. Inter-propellant seal(IPS) is located between the LOX pump and the kerosene pump to avoid any interaction between the propellants. A series of component and TPU(Turbopump Unit) test has been completed in the level of simulant propellants and ready for hot firing tests.
