디젤-에탄올 혼합연료의 에탄올 함량이 미세 그을음(Soot) 입자 배출특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Ethanol Content on Fine Soot Particle Emission from a Diesel-Ethanol Blended Fuel Diesel Engine)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 디젤-에탄올 혼합연료로 운전되는 디젤엔진에서 에탄올 혼합비율이 나노 크기 입자 배출 특성에 미치는 영향을 분석하는 것이다. 엔진의 연소 및 배기 배출물 특성은 배기량 373cc 의 단기통 디젤엔진과 배기 배출물 측정 장치, SMPS 를 이용하여 실험하였다. 그을음(soot) 배출은 착화지연 기간이 길어짐에 따라 증가하였다. 에탄올 혼합비율이 증가함에 따라 나노 입자의 총 개수 및 질량은 대체로 감소하는 경향을 나타냈다. 그러나 에탄올이 30% 혼합되었을 때 그을음(soot) 입자의 응결로 인해 큰 입자의 수 분포가 증가하였으며, 질량 또한 크게 증가하였다.

  • Based upon temperature calibration using the diffusion flame, the temperature and soot concentration of the turbulent flame in a visualized Diesel engine's turbulent flow of flame was qualitatively measured. Two different heads were used to judge the effect of swirl ratio within the combustion chamber. It was possible to measure the highest temperature of the non-swirl head visualized engine which is approximately 2400K, and that the swirl head engine managed up to 2100K. Also, the more the pressure of the spray increases the more the temperature increases due to the improved combustion situation with respect to the visualized diesel engine soot. This experiment also revealed that the KL factor was high where the fuel collided with the walls of the combustion chamber. Moreover the KL factor was high on parts of the chamber where the temperature dropped rapidly.

  • 본 논문은 카놀라 바이오디젤 혼합연료를 승용디젤엔진에 적용하였을 때 나타나는 연소 및 배기배출물 특성에 관한 연구이다. 본 연구에서는 카놀라 바이오디젤을 20%, 40%를 ULSD 80%, 60%와 체적비로 혼합한 혼합연료를 사용하여 ULSD 결과 데이터와 비교하였다. 엔진 회전속도, 엔진부하, 연료분사압력 변화를 실험변수로 사용하였으며. 카놀라 바이오 디젤의 혼합비가 증가 할수록 NOx 배출량은 증가하였지만, Soot 배출량은 감소하는 결과를 나타내었다. 또한 Soot 배출량은 낮은 연료분사압력에서 높은 배출량을 보였다.

  • Two dimensional flame temperature and KL value distribution from the luminous flame containing soot in a DI diesel engine were measured by the tow-color method using tow different wavelengths of the flame image. The combustion chamber of a DI diesel engine was visualized by elongating the piston and cylinder and the flame in the combustion chamber was photographed on a nega-color film using a high speed camera. In this study, color CCD camera was used to digitize the three color density of the film exposed to the flame and standard lamp . The accuracy of the measuring method depends on the calibration line of film made from a high temperature standard tungsten lamp. The formation and oxidization of soot in the diesel engine were studied by observing measured time history of KL factor and flame temperature . Also , effects of various shapes of combustion chamber and fuel injection on flame temperature. Also, effects of various shapes of combustion chamber and fuel injection on flame temperature and KL value distribution were examined.

디젤 엔진오일 내 Soot 함량 증가에 따른 오염도 측정에 관한 실험적 고찰 (An Experimental Study on the Measurement of Soot Contamination in a Diesel Engine Oil)

  • New method and device for the on-line measurement of soot concentration in a diesel engine oil are proposed, where the measurement principle is based mainly on attenuated internal total reflection. The detector were evaluated in various ranges of contaminated oils by carbon black particles. It was found that the proposed detector could be well used to monitor the oil deterioration due to soot contamination. Operational range of the detector was found from 0 to 5 mass percentage of soot content. Test results with water and fuel dilution showed that these effects were not remarkable. However, adsorption of carbon black particles onto the measurement surface was considered to be a critical problem of the detector. Effects of particle deposition on the interface was experimentally evaluated with the oil temperature and flow turbulence and discussed throughout this work.

  • Soot formation and oxidation is closely related to the combustion phenomena inside a diesel engine. Laser-based diagnostics provide a means for improving our understanding of diesel combustion, because they have highly temporal and spatial ability. To understand the soot behavior we did preliminary study by taking flame luminosity photographs and 2-D imaging soot distribution using Laser Elastic Scattering(LIS) and Laser-Induced Incandescence(LII). From the data we found that soot concentration was high in the bowl and disappeared from the central region in the late combustion stage.

  • In previous study, diesel-methanol stratified injection system is manufactured and applied to a D.I. diesel engine in order to realize combustion improvement using methanol, which is oxygenated fuel with large latent heat. We know that NOx and soot is reduced by stratified injection of diesel fuel-methanol. Therefore, in the present study, combustion diagnosis using optical measurement is tried to make clear effect of methanol on simultaneous reduction of NOx and soot. Two-color method is used to measure flame temperature and KL value, which is approximately proportional to the soot consentration along the optical path. Laser induced scattering method was used to measure distribution of soot at two dimensional area. Also, it is compared exhaust characteristics of NOx and soot with results of optical measurement.

4 실린더 직접분사식 디젤엔진에서 바이오디젤 혼합연료의 연소 및 배기특성 (Combustion and Emission Characteristics of 4 Cylinder Common-Rail DI Diesel Engine with Biodiesel Blended Fuel)

  • 본 연구는 4실린더 커먼레일 디젤엔진에 바이오디젤 혼합 디젤연료를 적용하였을 경우 엔진의 연소특성과 배출물 저감효과를 실험적으로 구한 것이다. 실험 연료는 바이오디젤 20%와 디젤연료 80%(체적분율)를 혼합한 BD20과 저유황디젤연료(ULSD)를 사용하였으며, 연료분사압과 엔진회전수를 변수로하여 실험을 수행하였다. 실험결과 B20과 ULSD 모두 연료분사압력이 증가함에 따라 NOx 배출농도는 증가하고, Soot 배출량은 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 특히 BD20의 경우 ULSD와 비교하여 NOx 배출농도는 다소 증가하였으나, Soot 배출량은 현저하게 감소하였다. 또한, 회전속도가 1000rpm에서 2000rpm으로 증가함에 따라 NOx 배출농도는 감소하고, Soot 배출량은 낮은 분사압력에서 현저히 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다.

  • NOx, Soot and other exhausted components already became a dangerous state as principal materials of the air pollution. Therefore, the exhausted regulations are getting strict in the many countries. In this paper, reduction characteristic of NOx, Soot and CO from diesel engine are investigated, when MF plasma-EGR hybride system is put to the diesel engine. NOx is decreased in all measured load and applied voltage to plasma renter However Soot is increased as increasing EGR rate and it is decreased as increasing applied voltage.

  • 디젤 매연여과장치내 포집된 입자상물질의 재생 시기를 제어하기 위해서는 매연 포집량을 정확히 예측하는 것이 중요하다. 필터내 축적된 매연 포집량은 필터 전 후의 압력차와 배기유량에 의해 예측될 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 먼저, 디젤산화촉매와 디젤매연여과장치 전 후의 각각 압력차의 비로써 정의한 매연지수의 산출을 위해 효과적인 신호처리방법을 제시하였다. 이를 3L급 승용 디젤엔진에서 정상운전조건과 과도운전조건에서 비교한 결과, 매연지수와 매연 포집량에 있어서 일정 상관관계가 있음을 알 수 있었다.
