Energy Demand in Steel Structures with Buckling Restrained Braces (좌굴이 방지된 가새가 설치된 철골조 건물의 에너지 요구량)

  • In this study, a story-wise distribution of hysteretic energy in steel moment resisting framse(MRF), buckling restrained braced frames(BRBF), and hinge-connected framed structures with buckling restrained braces(HBRBF) subjected to various earthquake ground excitations was investigated. Sixty earthquake ground motions recorded in different soil conditions were used to compute the energy demand in model structure. According to analysis results, the hysteretic energy in MRF and BRBF turned out to be the maximum at the base and monotonically diminishes with increasing height. However the story-wise distribution of hysteretic energy in HBRBF was relatively uniform over the height of the structure. In this case damage is not concentrated in a single story, and therefore it is considered to be more desirable than other systems. The story-wise energy distribution pattern under three different soil types turned out to be approximately the same.

  • Wind speed is measured on the nacelle at the location of wind turbines are installed. The wind speed is transformed to inlet wind speed at the front of hub using newly developed algorithm derived from energy conservation. Wind energy potential is analyzed using the inlet air velocity in the region of Bieung-do wind farm. As results, wind speed depending on the month, yearly averaged wind speed, wind speed distribution, and energy density are showed in this study. Bieung-do area is close to Saemankeum, and the analysis of wind energy potential in Bieung area will be helpful to understand and develop wind energy industry in Saemankeum area.

  • It is DC power that Output of renewable energy being recently developed and researched. Also, demand of DC power will expect to proliferate due to increase of digital load. Thus, DC distribution system providing high quality of power and reliability has emerged as a new distribution system. If the conventional distribution systems are substituted by proposed DC distribution system, the output of renewable energy can be connected with distribution systems under minimum power conversion. Therefore, in the event of connection with DC load, it can construct an efficient distribution system. In this paper, the integrated parallel operation of power conversion module for DC distribution system is proposed. Also, this paper proposed modularization of power conversion devices for DC distribution system and power control for parallel operation of large capacity system. DC distribution system consists of three power conversion modules such as AC/DC power conversion module 2 set, ESS module 1 set. DC distribution system controls suitable operation depending on the status of the DC power distribution system and load. Integrated operation of these systems is verified by simulation and experiment results.

  • A Study on the electron energy distribution function in $SF_6+Ar$ mixtures gas used by MCS-BE algorithm, the electron swam parameters in the 0.5% and 0.2% $SF_6+Ar$ mixtures are measured by time of flight method over the E/N(Td) range from 30 to 300(Td). A two-term approximation of the Boltzmann equation analysis and Monte Carlo simulation have been also used to study electron transport coefficients. The electron energy distribution function has been analysed in $SF_6$ gas and $SF_6+Ar$ mixtures at E/N : 200(Td) for a case of the equilibrium region in the mean electron energy. The measured results and the calculated results have been compared each other.

  • Electron swarm parameters in pure $CF_4$ and mixtures of $CF_4$ and Ar, have been analyzed over a range of the reduced electric field strength between 0.1 and 350[Td] by the two-term approximation of the Boltzmann equation(BEq.) method and the Monte Carlo simulation(MCS) The results of the Boltzmann equation and the Monte Carlo simulation have been compared with the data presented by several workers. The deduced transport coefficients for electrons agree reasonably well with the experimental and simulation data obtained by Nakamura and Hayashi. The energy distribution function of electrons in $CF_4$-Ar mixtures shows the Maxwellian distribution for energy. That is, f(${\varepsilon}$) has the symmetrical shape whose axis of symmetry is a most probably energy

  • The characteristics of heat energy distribution on the fire-proof clay with microwave heating drying are numerically investigated using finite element method. The modelled regular hexahedron chamber$(50cm\times50cm\times50cm)$ filled with air consists of vertical heat source and sink walls, a fire-proof clay model, and adiabatic plates on the top and bottom walls. With different geometrical aspect ratios of the fire-proof clay model, the heat energy distribution is throughly investigated. The model gave a good prediction of the microwave heating characteristics of fire-proof clay. The optimal shape of the fire-proof clay for given chamber geometry and microwave power is analyzed.

  • Recently, distributed generation using renewable energy resources have increased due to the limitation of conventional energy. To utilize these energy source effectively, a method of applying the energy storage system(ESS) in distribution system has been considered. In this paper, we simulated the one line-to-ground fault in power system with ESS. Based on these simulations, we analyzed the effect on Over Current Relay(OCR) operation. As a result, ESS operation modes result fault current fluctuation. Thus, OCR need to reset the pick up current. This paper analyze effect of ESS in distribution system according to OCR setting by using ElectroMagnetic Transient Program(EMTP).

  • The phenomenon of non-steady-state current flow through the interface traps during the dielectric relaxation of MOS device is presented. Experimental method is also described for determining the energy distribution of interface traps, which is based on isothermal dielectric relaxation current technique. Actually, the energy distribution of interface traps was obtained by measuring the transient current through the traps at Si-SiO$_{2}$ interface only in lower-half of the bandgap. It is shown that the trap energy distributio has peak value 1.72*10$^{13}$ cm$^{-2}$ eV$^{-1}$ near 0.73eV approximately.

Analytical Solution of Non-dimensional Turbulent Kinetic Energy Distribution Function in the Turbulnet Wake behind a Submarine (잠수함 난류항적 기술을 위한 무차원 난류 에너지 분포함수 B(ξ) 예측)

  • To describe turbulent wake behind a submarine, it is very important to know turbulent kinetic energy distributions in the wake. To get the distribution is to solve the turbulent kinetic energy equation, and to solve the equation, it is needed both information of ${\lambda}$ and ${\sigma}$ which define physical characteristics of the wake. This paper gives analytical solution of the equation, which is driven from $8^{th}$ order polynomial fitting, as a function of given ${\lambda}$, even though there is no information of ${\sigma}$. In comparison between numerical solution(i.e. exact solution) and analytical solution, the relative errors between them are less than to 5% in the range of 0 < ${\xi}$ < 0.95 in most given ${\lambda}$.

  • The high frequency and quasi-state C-V curves were measured to determine the interface state density in MNOS devices. Berglund method was appropriate for determination of energy distribution of interface state density all over the energy gap. Applying Vg vs Øs relation by Berlund method to comparison-analysis method of the high-frequency and quasi-static C-V curves, we were able to determine the energy distribution by only measured C-V curves without theoretical C-V curves. The interface state density near the conduction band was high at lower temperature than room temperature.
