  • In wireless sensor networks, there have been two methods for sensing continuously moving object tracking: user-query based method and periodic report based method. Although the former method requires overhead for user query rather than the latter method, the former one is known as an energy-efficient method without transferring unnecessary information. In the former method, a virtual tree, consisting of sensor nodes, is exploited for the user querying and sensor reporting. The tree stores the information about mobile objects; the stored information is triggered to report by the user query. However, in case of fast moving object, the tracking accuracy reduces due to the time delay of end-to-end repeated query. To solve the problem, we propose a query relaying method reducing the time delay for mobile object tracking. In the proposed method, the nodes in the tree relay the query to the adjacent node according to the movement of mobile object tracking. Relaying the query message reduces the end-to-end querying time delay. Simulation results show that our method is superior to the existing ones in terms of tracking accuracy.

  • Recent information technology achieves remarkable progress in almost all areas where it can be applied. However, this technology also causes technostress, such as fear and pressure to individuals, due to events, such as the threat of job loss. This technostress is becoming an important factor that can affect user performance and productivity in future society where information technology will be the focus. This kind of stress should be studied considerably in academic and practical applications. The effects of technostress on individual performance remain ambiguous. Therefore, academic research is needed to prove these effects. This study aimed to clarify the direct and indirect effects of technostress on information technology end-users. We developed a research model that integrates innovation resistance and technostress theory through previous studies and analyzed the questionnaire of 317 people. The PLS structural equation model and the study results of Baron and Kenny (1986) indicated that rapid change, connectivity, reliability, and complexity are crucial factors affecting the technostress of information technology. Technostress was analyzed indirectly only through innovation resistance, which affected the performance of end-users. This study will provide new implications for the relationship between technostress and performance or productivity in the IS field.

  • Technology acceptance model(TAM) has been widely used to predict the end-user's acceptance of a new IT/IS. We used TAM as a theoretical foundation to explain user's intention to use an Internet shopping mall. The theoretical model is tested with the questionnaires from 308 users of an Internet shopping mall. Results show that several individual characteristics such as Internet skills and self-efficacy have a significant impact on user's perception of usefulness and ease of use. Results also show that both perceived enjoyment and perceived usefulness of Internet shopping mall strongly predict intention to use the Internet shopping mall. However, perceived ease of use has no direct influence on intention to use the Internet shopping mall. Personal innovativeness and Internet skills also have a positive effect on perceived enjoyment. Therefore, Internet shopping mall managers have to consider intrinsic motivational factor(enjoyment) as well as extrinsic motivational factor(usefulness). In addition, individual characteristics should be emphasized to form the positive beliefs about using the Internet shopping mall.

  • This paper presents a user authentication scheme for healthcare application using wireless medical sensor networks, where wireless medical sensors are used for patients monitoring. These medical sensors' sense the patient body data and transmit it to the professionals (e.g., doctors, nurses, and surgeons). Since, the data of an individual are highly vulnerable; it must ensures that patients medical vital signs are secure, and are not exposed to an unauthorized person. In this regards, we have proposed a user1 authentication scheme for healthcare application using medical sensor networks. The proposed scheme includes: a novel two-factor professionals authentication (user authentication), where the healthcare professionals are authenticated before access the patient's body data; a secure session key is establish between the patient sensor node and the professional at the end of user authentication. Furthermore, the analysis shows that the proposed scheme is safeguard to various practical attacks and achieves efficiency at low computation cost.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the determinants of actual demand for wireless broadband (WiBro) services in Korea. To this end, this study identifies conceptual definitions of diverse latent variables and determines the significance of the causal relationship between independent and dependent variables. It then presents the nomadic user concept by testing the moderator effect. This study also proposes a revised Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model, which is an appropriate model for wireless communication services and users' attributes. Prior research has concentrated exclusively on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) based on future potential users. Compared to previous studies, the current research model and analysis results are useful in not only academic but also industry contexts.

  • GUI(Graphic User Interface) have an influence on end-user environments in information system. Consistency is one of the most important GUI characteristics. Consistency should apply across the different media which form the total user interface. User can get a lot of benefits through consistency. To achieve consistency of the total interface, the interface standards are very important. The goals of this study is to suggest GUI's development guidelines through analysis of real fields using ERP package in a electric assembly line. The guidelines fall into four functions: inquiry, registration, modification, deletion. The guidelines can be used for better system development later and as verification tool in GUI development.

  • Multi-queue I/O block layer has been recently employed in Linux kernel to support fast storage devices such as NVMe SSDs, but it lacks differentiated I/O services yet. In this paper, we propose an I/O scheduling scheme that can improve the user responsiveness of foreground processes, which are closely related to user satisfaction. To this end, we redesign the existing multi-queue block layer to classify the I/O requests from foreground processes and schedule them by exploiting the feature of NVMe interface. Experimental results show that latency and launch time of the foreground processes have been significantly improved compared to original Linux kernel.

  • The global FinTech industry has experienced significant growth, with key projects developing the financial sector. In Saudi Arabia, startups have used technology to offer FinTech services. In this area, it is important to investigate the usability of platforms that offer FinTech services. This research aims to examine the usability of samples of Saudi FinTech websites and identify design issues impacting user experience. Usability testing was conducted on the websites of two FinTech firms identified design issues, including navigation problems on the homepage and a lack of transparency in displaying investment details, negatively impacting end users. Employing usability methods can assist in enhancing the development of FinTech platforms and addressing these issues. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of FinTech usability problems and the user experience, enabling advancements in the industry.

  • In this paper, we propose a technique for tracking the classification and location of each user through body proportion analysis of the normalized skeletons of multiple users obtained using RGB-D cameras. To this end, each user's 3D skeleton is extracted from the 3D point cloud and body proportion information is stored. After that, the stored body proportion information is compared with the body proportion data output from the entire frame to propose a user classification and location tracking algorithm in the entire image.

  • In this paepr, a routing algorithm is proposed in order to reduce average end-to-end delay and congesting in the high speed network. The algorithm proposed here uses the existing one which adaptively modifies routes and the amount of traffic allocated to each link as user traffic partterns flutuate. This algorithm is ELB(Equitable Load Balancing). Also, the new algorithm considers the proportional to the distance between source and destination. It reduces congestion from the ELB and average end-to-end delay from the propagation dealy concepts respectively. Through the simulation, it shows that the algorithm proposed here reduces average end-to-end delay over low load to high load, and it also guarantees the congestion control.
