부모역할(父母役割)에 대한 책임의식(責任意識) - 아버지와 어머니의 차이 - (Perceptions of Parental Role Responsibilities: Differences Between Fathers and Mothers)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate parents' perceptions of parental role responsibilities and to examine how these are influenced by parent's sex and child's sex. A total 320 subjects who have preschool or elementary school children (fathers, 151: mother 169) were randomly selected from nursery school, kindergarten, elementary schools in Seoul. The Perceptions of Parental Role Responsibilities Scales (PPRS) of Gilbert and Hanson (1983) was translated and supplemented by the investigator and employed in this study. The obtained data were analyzed by Two-way MANOVA, Univariate F-test, and One-way MANOVA. The results of this study showed that: 1. In Cognitive Development (CD), Handling of Emotions (HE), Social Skills (SoS), Personal Hygiene (PhH), Health Care (HC), Material (M), Meeting the Emotional Needs (EN) and Child Care (CC), mothers perceived higher parental role responsibilities than fathers did, and in Physical Health (PhH), fathers were higher than mothers. 2. In HE, Survival Skills (SuS), and M, mothers perceived higher parental role responsibilities toward daughters than sons. 3. In HE, SuS, M, EN and CC, fathers perceived higher parental role responsibilities toward daughters than sons, and they were higher in SoS and PhH, toward sons than daughters.

어머니의 문해 신념과 유아-어머니의 상호작용 및 문어의 의미 구성 전략 사용에 관한 질적 연구 (Mother's belief of literacy development, preschooler-mother interaction and strategies during literacy events)

  • This study was designed to compare mothers' beliefs of literacy development and home literacy environment and to explore how the children interacted with their mother during literacy activities and how they used the strategies to develop knowledge of literacy. The qualitative data was collected from multiple sources of naturalistic information and analyzed through triangulation of diverse methods including participant observations in the home, parental during literacy events, written logs kept by the mothers, the children's writing products, three emergent assessment forms, and photographs. The three preschoolers and their mothers provided different literacy experiences to support their children's emerging conventional literacy development. Child 1's mother highly valued the rich home literacy environment and the child 1's initiative interactions during literacy events. Child 3's home literacy context was very similar to her Montessori classroom's phonic approach and writing skills. Child 2 was provided with an inappropriate literacy environment at home through direct instruction and an emphasis on correct writing. All of the children were interested and attended to story. Child 1 interacted with her mother in expanded cycles as child's initiation, mother's clarification, and child's evaluation, compared with the child 2's simple cycle and the child 3's classroom-like cycle as mother's initiation, child's response, and mother's evaluation. The children and their mothers employed a number of diverse strategies to understand knowledge of literacy. Importantly parent education needs to emphasize the importance of playful one to one mother-child interaction, a functional holistic literacy environment., and strategies for expanding child's knowledge with parent as mediator.

부모의 자녀에 대한 구강건강 관심도 조사 (Parents' concern for child oral health)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the interest level of mothers in oral health. The subjects in this study were 184 mothers whose children attended daycare centers in the city of K. A survey was conducted from March 15 through April 30, 2007, and SPSS WIN 11.5 program was employed to analyze their answer sheets. The findings of the study were as follows: 1. A group of mothers whose children brushed their teeth three times a day on the average made up 55.7 percent of those who were at the age of 35 and under. Among the mothers having three or more children, those mothers accounted for 59.1 percent. The daily mean toothbrushing frequency of children was higher among the better-educated mothers. 2. Concerning dietary and oral guidance, the mothers whose academic background was better curbed their children's excessive sugar intake more often, and the gap between them and the others was statistically significant(pE.05). As to the importance of oral health by the number of child and academic credential, those who had two children(36.0%) taught them the importance of oral health frequently(pE.01), and the better-educated mothers taught about it often(pE.05). The gap between the groups and the others was significant. 3. As for experience of visiting dental institutions, the working mothers visited dental institutions more often than the stay-at-home mothers, and the gap between them was statistically significant(pE.05). Regarding purpose of the visit, the largest group aimed to get treatment(64.6%), followed by having a dental checkup(14.6%) and receiving preventive treatment(13.5%). As to any inconveniences in using dental institutions, those who were working and who were in the upper income bracket found it more inconvenient to do that because of a long distance or time constraints. The gap between them and the others was significant. 4. In regard to concern for dental care, the mothers who were better educated(pE.001) and whose family income was 3 million won or more had their teeth scaled more often, and the gap between them and the others was statistically significant(pE.01). The rate of the regular visitors of dental institutions stood at 32.7 percent of the junior-college graduates, 31.0 percent of the mothers receiving college or higher education and 10.1 percent of the high-school graduates(pE.01). And those who earned larger income paid a visit to dental institutions more often and on a regular basis. The gap between them and the others was statistically significant(pE.05).

어머니의 취업여부에 따른 양육태도, 모-자녀상호작용, 유아의 또래놀이 상호작용 및 문제행동 간의 관계 (Relationship among Parenting Style, Mother-Child Interaction, Young Children's Interactive Peer Play and Problem Behaviors by Mother's Employment Status)

  • 본 연구는 육아정책연구소에서 제공하는 한국아동패널 6차년도(2013)데이터를 사용하여 유아기 자녀를 둔 1614명의 어머니를 대상으로 취업여부에 따른 양육태도, 모-자녀상호작용, 유아의 또래놀이 상호작용 및 문제행동에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 18.0 프로그램을 이용하여 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어머니의 취업여부에 관계없이 어머니의 온정적 양육태도가 높을수록, 유아의 또래놀이 상호작용이 높을수록 유아의 내재화, 외현화 문제행동이 모두 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 취업모의 경우 모-자녀상호작용이 유아의 내재화, 외현화 문제행동에 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않았지만, 비취업모의 경우에는 유의미한 영향을 미쳐 자녀와 상호작용이 많을수록 유아의 내재화, 외현화 문제행동이 증가하는 것으로 나타나 취업모와 비취업모의 차이가 있었다. 이러한 연구결과에 기초하여 유아의 다양한 문제행동을 예방하는 부모교육 프로그램이나 아동 가족 상담현장에 실제적으로 활용할 수 있는 기초자료를 제공했다는 데 본 연구의 의의가 있다.

중년기 취업모의 가족부양부담이 심리적 복지감에 미치는 영향 - 가족지지 자원의 조절효과를 중심으로 - (The Effect of Family Caregiver Burden on Psychological Well-Being among Middle-Aged Working Mothers: Focused on the Moderating Effect of Family Support Resources)

  • This study aimed to explore the moderating effect of family support resources on family caregiver burden as it in turn affects psychological well-being among middle-aged working mothers. Through purposive sampling, the study recruited 325 married employed mothers age 40-50 years who live in Seoul and who have more than 1 child and living parents or parents-in-law. The investigation was performed April 1-30, 2018, with the participants sampled from companies, schools and religious organizations in Seoul. The collected data were statistically analyzed using the SPSS 21.0 package. The results of this study were as follows: First, of all categories of caregiver burden, the score for burden of caring for elderly parents was 3.01 (SD = .81), slightly higher than the median of 3 points; childcare burden scored 3.16 (SD = .73), also higher than the median value; and family support resources scored 3.40 (.89), higher than the median of 3. Overall psychological well-being rated 3.25 (SD = .56). Second, health and educational level, the burdens of caring for elderly parents and childcare and family support resources were found to significantly affect psychological well-being. Third, family support resources, a moderating variable, were found to significantly moderate and ease the effect of childcare burden on middle-aged working mothers' psychological well-being. Furthermore, in the analysis of their moderating effect, family support resources were confirmed to positively affect psychological well-being by moderating childcare burden experienced by middle-aged working mothers.

산후 2주 축약형 모유수유 적응 측정도구의 구성 타당도, 신뢰도와 측정 불변성 (Breastfeeding Adaptation Scale-Short Form for mothers at 2 weeks postpartum: construct validity, reliability, and measurement invariance)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to evaluate the construct validity, reliability, measurement invariance, and latent mean differences in the Breastfeeding Adaptation Scale-Short Form (BFAS-SF) for use with mothers at 2 weeks postpartum. Methods: This methodological study was designed to evaluate the validity, reliability, and measurement invariance of the BFAS-SF at 2 weeks postpartum, with data collected from 431 breastfeeding mothers. Confirmatory factor analysis and multi-group confirmatory factor analysis were conducted to assess the factor structure and the measurement invariance across employment status, delivery mode, parity, and previous breastfeeding experience, and the latent mean differences were then examined. Results: The goodness of fit of the six-factor model at 2 weeks postpartum was acceptable. Multi-group confirmatory factor analysis supported strict invariance of the BFAS-SF across employment status and delivery mode. Full configural invariance, full metric invariance, and partial scalar invariance across parity and full configural invariance and full metric invariance across previous breastfeeding experience were supported, respectively. The results for latent mean differences suggested that mothers who were employed showed significantly higher scores for breastfeeding confidence. Mothers who had a vaginal delivery showed significantly higher scores for sufficient breast milk and baby's feeding capability. Multiparous mothers showed significantly higher scores for baby's feeding capability and baby's satisfaction with breastfeeding. Conclusion: The validity and reliability of the BFAS-SF at 2 weeks postpartum are acceptable. It can be used to compare mean scores of breastfeeding adaptation according to employment status, delivery mode, and parity.

영아의 수유 및 보충식에 대한 조사연구 (A Survey Of Infant Feeding Practices In Seoul, 1991.)

  • A survey of infant practices was conducted to provide information on which to base planned nursing interventions. The subjects were a convenience sample of 168 mothers visiting out - patients departments of five general hospitals and one public health center in Seoul for immunizations or treatment for common colds for their infants from two to 12 months of age. Data collection was carried out from July 8th to September 30th, 1991 using a questionnaire of 84 questions, 31 on the type of feeding, 22 on supplementary feeding and 21 on demographic infer mation. The results are summarized as follows : 1) The type of feeding was primarily artificial feed-ing (63.1%), followed by mixed feeding (22%) and breast feeding (14.9%) of the 59 mothers expecting during pregnancy to breast feed, 54. 2% changed artificial feeding and 30.5% went on to breast feed as they had expected. For mothers expecting to continue breast feeding over seven months. only one infant was being breast fed for over seven months. 2) For the 106 mothers using artificial feeding, 70. 8% hed attempted breast feeding, 64% of them for less than a month. Breast milk had been suppressed by for medication (38.7%) : 34.9% had used no specia] means. 3) The major reasons for replacing breast feeding with artificial feeding were the infants' demand for more milk (47.2% ) and insufficient supply of breast milk (49.3%). 4) Most mixed feeding was started at the age of one to three months (59.5%). Only 34.4% gave an artificial feeding after breast feeding : most (46%) alternated breast feeding with artificial feeding. On the whole, the motive for mixed feeding was the lack of breast milk (70.3%). 5) Many mothers (81.8%) were adding vitamin or mineral supplements to artificial milk and 51.5% were adding something to faciliate digestion. As for the method of sterilizing milk bottles and nipples, 56% had sterilized them together in boiling water from the beginning : 27% were just washing the bottles after boiling only once initially when measuring artificial milk powder, 31. 5% of the mothers over filled the measuring spoon rather than to the level. 6) The mother's occupation was related to her way of feeding. Mothers at home full time did more breast feeding than mothers employed outside the home. (x²=5.72, p=〈0.05). 7) Most mothers began supplementary food, from three to four months (48.8%) : 11.2% began later than seven months. Supplementary food was given between milk feedings by 67.2% of the mothers : 19.2% gave it before a milk feeding. Some mothers(26.4%) made their own supplementary food : 19.2% used ready - made supplementary food products for convenience. Recommendations for nursing interventions included : 1. Prenatal education about the advantages of breast feeding and breast care, and home visits after delivery for counselling related to breast feeding. Correct preparation of artificial feeding methods need to be taught in both pre & postnatal periods. In addition, specific education about supplementary feeding needed. 2. Further research is indicated about the Perceived lack of supply of breast milk and about the effectiveness of nursing interventions to Promote breast feeding.

미혼모의 사회적 관계망이 자아존중감에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Social Relationship on Unmarried Mother's Self-Esteem)

  • 본 연구에서는 미혼모의 사회적 관계망의 기능적 특성이 미혼모의 자아존중감에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였으며, 특히 기존 연구에서 배제되어 있던 사회적 관계망의 부정적 측면인 사회적 갈등에 주목함으로써, 연구의 폭을 넓히고자 시도하였다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 전국 미혼모 시설 8곳 중 6곳에 거주하고 있는 미혼모들 205명을 대상으로, 설문조사를 실시한 후 다중회귀분석방법을 사용하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과 미혼모들이 지각하는 사회적 지지의 수준이 높을수록 자아존중감이 높게 나타났으며, 사회적 갈등이 높을수록 자아존중감은 낮게 나타났다. 특히 미혼모들이 지각하는 사회적 갈등은 사회적 지지보다 낮은 수준이기는 하지만, 자아존중감에 미치는 영향력은 사회적 지지와 비슷한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 사회적 관계망의 부정적 기능에 대한 인식은 시설내 미혼모에게 개입하는데 있어 새로운 방향을 제시해 준다. 즉, 지금까지 관심을 가져왔던 사회적 지지체계에 대한 개입 외에, 갈등의 원천이 될 수 있는 관계망과의 관계를 제거하고 새로운 대안을 찾거나 개선하는 방향으로 개입의 방향을 전환할 수 있을 것이다.

어머니와 정년기여자와의 커뮤니케이션에 관한 연구 (Communication Between Mother and her Adolescents)

  • This study was carried out to learn about the contents of communication between mother and her adolescents in this country, and possible differences in the contents of communication with demographic variables. In particular, I wanted to find out the following; 1)contents of communication between mother and her adolescents. 2)Contents of communication between parents with adolescents. 3)Possible differences in the contents of communication with differences in the level of education, employment status, and age of mother, family income level, and sex, and birth order of children. To test these hypotheses, I distributed questionnaires to 600 mothers of selected high school juniors(11th grade) in Seoul. Four hundred and fourty-eight questionnaires were returned, and the results were analyzed using frequency distribution, percentage, and x2-test. The results were as following; 1) In general, mothers communicated well with their adolescents, especially in topics related to studying, friends, school, parents and family, and future career. Communication on sex-education or sex-role, however, was rather limited in contents. ool, parents and family. Communication on sex-education or sex-role of adolescent was almost never attempted. This result showed similarity with 1 above. 3) (1) contents of communication and educational level of mother; contents of communication between mother and her adolescents differed significantly with educational level on all topics except parents and family, indicating that the educational level of mother, the more diverse was contents of communication between mother and her adolescents. (2) Contents of communication and employment status of mother: On all topics except sex-education, communication between mother and her adolescents differed significantly between employed and unemployed mothers, indicating that unemployed mothers communicate on greater number of topics with their adolescents than employed mothers do. (3) contents of communication and family income level; Family income level did not affect contents of communication between mother and her adolescents significantly. (4) contents of communication and age of mother; Age of mother did not affect a contents of communication between mother and her adolescents significantly. (5) contents of communication and sex of adolescent; Thee were significant differences in contents of communication on certain topics; On virginity, sex, marriage, and dating, mother communicate more diversely with daughters than with sons. This result certainly reflects the deep-rooted traditional value system among koreans, with permissive attitude toward males, and far more strict attitude toward females, on sex-related matters. (6) Contents of communication and birth order of adolescents; The birth order of adolescents did not affect contents of communication between mother and her adolescents significantly.

학령 초기 자녀의 어머니를 대상으로 한 부모존경-자녀존중 부모교육 프로그램의 효과 (The Effectiveness of the Respected Parents & Respected Children Parent Education Program for Mothers of Early School-age Children)

  • The present study employed a pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design model in order to evaluate the effectiveness of the Respected Parents & Respected Children (RPRC) parent education program for mothers of early school-age children. Ninety mothers were randomly assigned to an intervention (n=45) group or a control group (n=45). Mothers in the intervention group participated in 8 weekly sessions of the parent education program. After the termination of the program, the differences between pretest and posttest were analyzed in terms of both maternal parenting characteristics (i.e., parenting behavior, parenting efficacy, parenting stress, and co-parenting) and children's social competence. The results indicated that only in the intervention group, self-reported positive parenting characteristics were significantly improved and negative parenting characteristics were significantly decreased. There were no significant effects of the program on children's social competence as rated by the mothers. These findings suggest that the RPRC parent education program is effective in changing parenting characteristics known as crucial predictors of child outcomes.
