Background: Dental hygienists, who play a vital role in promoting oral health, experience burnout due to various factors. This study aimed to identify these factors through a scoping review of the literature on burnout among dental hygienists in Korea to develop prevention and intervention strategies for burnout. Methods: The literature review was conducted following a scoping review protocol, which included five stages: identifying the literature question, identifying relevant studies, study selection, charting the data, summarizing, and reporting the results. Of the 352 documents initially reviewed, 35 were ultimately selected as final studies. These documents were analyzed to identify general characteristics and key variables related to burnout and to review the recommendations made by the studies. Results: Analysis of the final documents revealed that most studies published between 2013 and 2018 involved sample sizes ranging from 201 to 300 participants. Burnout-related characteristics include age, salary, work experience, and marital status. Emotional labor was the key variable most frequently identified, followed by intention to leave, job stress, job satisfaction, job involvement, and self-efficacy. Conclusion: This study suggests that strategies for preventing and intervening in burnout should be developed through both personal efforts and institutional measures. This approach will improve the work environment for dental hygienists and, consequently, enhance the quality of dental healthcare services.
The purposes of this study was to investigate job related attitudes of emotional labors working at call centers in Korea. The attitudinal variables were burnout, psychological capital and turnover intention with job characteristics as the independent variables. In addition, leadership behaviors of the superiors, self leadership behavior in particular, was incorporated to see if it has any bearing on these relationship as moderating variable. Data has been collected from 543 respondents for this study using questionnaire method. The survey for the actual analysis of the research was done and analyzed with the employees who work for contact centers in Seoul, Busan, and Gwangju, Korea. The survey was done for 24 days from November, 2016 through December, 2016. * The following study results were revealed: First, the job characteristics does not have direct positive effect on turnover intentions. Second, the job characteristics were related positively to job burnout. Third, the job burnout does mediate the relationship between job characteristics and turnover intentions. Lastly, results of research on the moderating effect of self leadership in relationships between emotional labor, job burnout, psychological capital and turnover intention show that super leadership has only a limited regulatory effect between job characteristics and turnover intention.

Child labor is being recognized as the key issue of human rights, and the International Labor Organization and the Convention on the Rights of the Child emphasize that children are individuals with dignity and rights. Male and female child actors belong to a profession with wide public exposure and there is a potential danger of invading classes and roles not matching the developmental stage of the child. In this study, we would like to discuss international and domestic laws and future complementary measures surrounding legal and institutional issues that need to be considered for child actors. Although the basic rights for child workers are stated in the Constitution Article 32 Paragraph 5 and Labor Standards Act Articles 64 through 70, they are insufficient. Following the revised broadcasting deliberation regulations by the Korea Communication Commission and amendment of the Juvenile Protection Law, several changes are taking place in the working environment. In certain foreign places such as California, United States, the economic and educational rights of male and female child actors are being protected. Although legal and institutional frameworks for the male and female child actors are being reinforced, more consistent devices are needed. Consideration for working hours, regulations to keep up with learning while working, and preparation for physical and emotional influences are required to keep up with international changes.
This study examines work and family life of married women employed in a manufacturing industry. Data were gathered from the use of fact-to-face interview method from a sample of 230 married working women. The major findings of this study can be summarized as follows : (1) With high rates of change of job, most of the respondents remain unstable in their working situation. It was shown that the important factors influencing job satisfaction of married women are women's life cycle, degree of contribution of wife's income toward total family income, and husband's attitude toward wife's empolyment. The degree of job satisfaction is also strongly influenced by labor structural factors such as pay, work environment and fringe benefits. (2) The amount of household labor time was limited by job-related factors rather than by family-related factors, because among these working women employment itself is necessarily for their subsistance. (3) It was shown that wives participated more actively in their marital communications than their husbands. Most of the respondents showed the syncratic type of the decision making patterns, but this results does not necessarily mean wives exercised an equal power with their husbands. The economic factors and the emotional instability of the husband are the ones mostly influencing marital conflicts of the employed women. It was found that the respondents easily revealed marital conflicts related to personal problems of their husbands(such as extramarital affairs, gambling and alchoholism). However, they tried to overcome the structural conflicts related to authoritarian attitudes of their husbands or economic problems without any complaints. (4) Mothers have difficulty in controlling their adolescent children, due to the weakening of parental authority. Although most of the respondents perceived their employment as having negative impacts on their children, they still have high expectations toward their children. Inspite of low degree of father role expectations and facther role performance of their husbands, most of the respondents anticipated expressive roles as well as traditionally instrumental role from their husbands. Finally, these findings would help us determine family welfare policies in Korea. Improvements in paid and household labor structure of married women should be accomplished at the national level. Also, the acting programs for parent education, marital councelling services, and law enforcement for equal employment between men and women should be provided in our society.
This study aims to identify the types and characteristics of followership perceived by hotel employees as emotional workers in terms of the diagnosis of their fellowship awareness toward their managers and the detailed patterns of subjective followership. The Q methodology is applied to find out the types of followership of hotel employees, the similarities and differences between each type, and the meanings of each type. A total of 40 questions are selected for the Q sample. The analysis shows that there are four types such as 'organizational oriented', 'individual oriented', 'adaptive oriented' and 'critical passive oriented'. It also shows that each type has a unique characteristic, and identifies the items in the all four types that they share or do not. This study is expected to present a new perspective on hotel management by identifying the characteristics of the followership from the perspective of the hotel staff who are supposed to do some emotional labor caused by the emotional dissonance hotel staff suffer.

This study investigated first, socio-economic, residential characteristics, and values for future life among low-income family wives. Second, the relationship of these characteristics to the wives' stress was examined. The subjects were 249 mothers of urban low-income families whose children attended one of 20 daycare centers located in poor residential areas. The instruments included Social Network Scale, Home Stress Scale, and Occupation Stress Scale. Data were analyzed by means, standard deviations, frequencies, paired t-tests, and the stepwise multiple regressions. We found that a majority of the mothers and their husbands had high school educational status and simple labor or sales/service work status. They lived in rental houses or apartments. Their families of origin were a major source of emotional supports. Insufficient income for non-employed wives, long work hours and lack of free time for employed wives were a major stress. Levels of the wives' home-related job-related stress were negatively related to their own and their hudsbands' work status.

And it examined time use on weekdays and weekends by the time amount of each activities and the ratio of actor on each hour. The survey participants included 131 married people who were dual-career commuting couple and who were maintained separate residence and work place. The major findings are as follows: First, weekday separation of the dual-career commuting couples is largely due to career. This kind separation is mostly due to sociostructural labor market factor and individual factor to increasing working women. Second, 94.6%(53) of male participants were resident living apart from their family on weekdays. Third, the most wives mentioned some kind of emotional liberation such as freedom on weekdays. Finally, there was gender difference in the time spent on each activities when dual-career commuting couples are living together and they are apart. Especially the most gender difference on weekdays is household work time and leisure time.
