EML에서 Ir(ppy)3와 CBP의 도핑 위치에 따른 녹색 인광 OLED 특성 변화 연구

  • 본 연구에서는 Host와 Dopant $Ir(ppy)_3$의 도핑 위치 변화에 따른 bottom emission 인광 OLED를 제작하여 발광 효율 및 특성을 분석하였다. 소자의 EML은 $Ir(ppy)_3/CBP$$CBP/Ir(ppy)_3$ 순으로 증착하여 제작하였다. $Ir(ppy)_3/CBP$은 낮은 구동 전압에서 큰 전류밀도와 큰 luminance을 측정하였고, 반대로 $CBP/Ir(ppy)_3$은 높은 구동 전압에서 $CBP/Ir(ppy)_3$은 큰 전류밀도와 큰 luminance가 측정되었다. 이는 $Ir(ppy)_3/CBP$에서 HTL과 EML 사이에 hole direct injection이 발생으로 Hole이 증가하지만 charge balance 불일치로 roll-off가 발생하고, $CBP/Ir(ppy)_3$에서 electron direct injection에 의한 electron 증가로 charge balance가 향상된다. EL spectrum 측정에서 $Ir(ppy)_3$은 파장 512nm 발광이 일어나고, CBP와 NPB은 각각 파장 380nm, 433nm로 분석된다. 각 물질의 triplet의 전달은 energy level이 큰 곳에서 작은 곳으로 전달되는데 이러한 이유로 전압에 따른 recombination zone 변화로 각 물질에서 나오는 파장의 intensity가 달라지는 것을 확인하였다. $Ir(ppy)_3/CBP$은 낮은 전류 밀도에서는 CBP의 영향으로 380nm 파장대가 크고, 높은 전류 밀도에서는 $Ir(ppy)_3$의 영향으로 512nm 파장대가 크게 나오는 것을 확인했고, $CBP/Ir(ppy)_3$에서는 낮은 전류 밀도에서 512nm 파장대가 커지고, 큰 전류 밀도에서는 CBP에서 NPB로의 triplet 에너지 전달의 증가로 433nm 파장대가 커지는 것을 확인하였다.

  • Three methods for gain saturation tone application were compared for optical wavelength division multiplexing transmission using more than 32 channels. The methods are to use high power distributed feedback laser diodes, to use amplified light sources, and lastly to use one saturation tone and several WDM light sources. 1532.3 nm, 1545.7 nm, and 1558.2 nm for the wavelength dependency of the saturation tone were also compared. As a result, the effect of amplified spontaneous emission noise caused by an amplifier was very slight. long wavelength for a saturation tone caused 1 dB gain reduction and its reason was analyzed.

  • Phenomenological nonlinear gain saturation effect on the noise characteristics of a multi-electrode DBR laser, when the lasing wavelength changes continuously, is presented theoretically. Using the optical transmission line theory, noise characteristics reliant on output power are analyzed by taking into account both the spontaneous enhancement factor K due to the distribution of the spontaneous emission along the active cavity and the nonlinear gain saturation effect. Spontaneous emission rate was increased due to an increase in injected current into the passive section, which in turn lead to increase in relative intensity noise (RIN) and frequency noise. Phenomenological nonlinear gain saturation was found to have significant effect on RIN and frequency noise characteristics. However. Iinewidth was found to decrease due to a phenomenological nonlinear gain saturation effect. ffect.

  • The low cost fiber ring laser can be tuned by controlling polarization states within the loop. In this paper, we investigate its operating principle and verify the performance through an experiment. This ring laser consists of a polarization controller and an intracavity polarizer for the wavelength tuner and semiconductor optical amplifier for the gain medium. It is seen that the lasing wavelength may be tuned through the range of 1540~1560 nm as a polarization controller and a polarizer are adjusted.

  • 본 연구에서는 캐소드 방향으로 발광하는 Top emission 소자를 설계 제작하였다. 이를 위하여 반투명한 금속 박막을 제작하여 전기적 특성과 광학적 특성을 비교 평가하였다. 이를 바탕으로 제작한 Top emission 소자를 bottom emission 소자와 비교하였을 때 구동 전압은 다소 높았으며 색좌표 및 스펙트럼이 이동하였는데 이동 정도와 경향성은 파장에 따라 다르게 나타났다

  • Stable amorphous calcium carbonate were synthesized from the serial work for the synthetic conditions such as concentration of solution, reaction temperature, aging time and pH of mother liquor. By using this as a precusor, calcite, aragonite and vaterite crystal particles were obtained in the water from adequate crystallization conditions. Furthermore, characterization for flourescence were performed by using crystals which were crystallized from the Sn dopped amorphous calcium carbonate. Calcite showed the most intensive emission and the center of emission wavelength was 464 nm with pure blue color. Calcite is expected to be used as phosphor for flourescent lamp because the maximum emission intensity was obtained from the excitation with 255 nm wavelength.

Oil Fluorescence Spectrum Analysis for the Design of Fluorimeter (형광 광도계 설계인자 도출을 위한 기름의 형광 스펙트럼 분석)

  • To evaluate the degree of contamination caused by oil spill accident in the sea, the in-situ sensors which are based on the scientific method are needed in the real site. The sensors which are based on the fluorescence detection theory can provide the useful data, such as the concentration of oil. However these kinds of sensors commonly are composed of the ultraviolet (UV) light source such as UV mercury lamp, the multiple excitation/emission filters and the optical sensor which is mainly photomultiplier tube (PMT) type. Therefore, the size of the total sensing platform is large not suitable to be handled in the oil spill field and also the total price of it is extremely expensive. To overcome these drawbacks, we designed the fluorimeter for the oil spill detection which has compact size and cost effectiveness. Before the detail design process, we conducted the experiments to measure the excitation and emission spectrum of oils using five different kinds of crude oils and three different kinds of processed oils. And the fluorescence spectrometer were used to analyze the excitation and emission spectrum of oil samples. We have compared the spectrum results and drawn the each common spectrum regions of excitation and emission. In the experiments, we can see that the average gap between maximum excitation and emission peak wavelengths is near 50 nm for the every case. In the experiment which were fixed by the excitation wavelength of 365 nm and 405 nm, we can find out that the intensity of emission was weaker than that of 280 nm and 325 nm. So, if the light sources having the wavelength of 365 nm or 405 nm are used in the design process of fluorimeter, the optical sensor needs to have the sensitivity which can cover the weak light intensity. Through the results which were derived by the experiment, we can define the important factors which can be useful to select the effective wavelengths of light source, photo detector and filters.

  • $Y_{1-x}PO_4:{Eu_x}^{3+}$ red phosphors were synthesized with changing the concentration of $Eu^{3+}$ ion by using a solid-state reaction method. The crystal structures of all the red phosphors were found to be a tetragonal system composed of (200) diffraction peak centered at $25.88^{\circ}$, and the morphology of grains approached the spherical form with homeogenous size distribution as the concentration of $Eu^{3+}$ ion increased. As for the photoluminescence properties, all of the ceramic phosphors, irrespective of $Eu^{3+}$ ion concentration, showed the red-orange and the red emission peaked at 593.0 and 619.2 nm respectively. As the concentration of $Eu^{3+}$ ion increased, the excitation spectrum moved into a longer wavelength with the increase of emission intensity. The maximum excitation and the emission spectrum were observed at 0.15 mol of $Eu^{3+}$ ion.

A Study on the Land Surface Emissivity (LSE) Distribution of Mid-wavelength Infrared (MWIR) over the Korean Peninsula (한반도 중파장적외선 지표 복사율 분포 연구)

  • Surface emissivity and its background values according to each sensor are mandatorily necessary for Mid-Wavelength Infrared (MWIR) remote sensing to retrieve surface temperature and temporal variation. This study presents the methods and results of Land Surface Emissivity (LSE) of the MWIR according to land cover over the Korean Peninsula. The MWIR emissivity was estimated by applying the Temperature Independent Spectral Indices (TISI) method to the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) band 4 Day/Night images ($3.74{\mu}m$ in center wavelength). The obtained values were classified according to land-cover types, and the obtained emissivity was then compared with those calculated from a standard Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) spectral library. The annual means of MWIR emissivity of Deciduous Broadleaf Forest (0.958) and Mixed Forest (0.935) are higher than those of Croplands (0.925) and Natural Vegetation Mosaics (0.935) by about 2-3%. The annual mean of Urban area is the lowest (0.914) with an annual variation of about 2% which is by larger than those (1%) of other land-covers. The TISI and VIIRS based emissivity is slightly lower than the ASTER spectral library by about 2-3% supposedly due to various reasons such as lack of land cover homogeneity. The results will be used to understand the MWIR emissivity properties of the Korean Peninsula and to examine the seasonal and other environmental changes using MWIR images.
