The purpose of this study is to examine current issues in theories and practices of bibliographic organization of and access to the Web resources. and find out how to apply them to libraries in Korea. Literature reviews and case studies of five major academic Libraries in Korea as well as United State were conducted to describe and analyze patterns of actual bibliographic organization and access. Libraries definitely vary in how to organize or integrate bibliographic records of Web resources into OPAC and how they provide access to electronic journals and selected Web sites. Academic libraries in Korea are expected to collect more systematically and comprehensively Web resources of high quality and establish strategic plans for building reliable Web resource collection.

In traditional environment, user must search each journal OPAC, bibliographic DB, and full-text DB and E-Journal separately until user finds scientific and technology informations that he needs. The purpose of this study is to build one-click service system of Journals that supports integrating search. This system provides various functions, such as, journal browsing, journal search, article search, alert function, my library, document delivery service by integrating databases and electronic journals. Users search all information sources through journal OPAC and acquire journal full-text by single interface.

Scholarly communication plays a significant role in the development and dissemination of research outputs in library and information science (LIS). This study presents findings from a survey which examines the key attributes that characterize the publishing by Pakistani LIS scholars, i.e. academics and professionals, in national journals. A pilot-tested, electronic questionnaire was used to collect the data from the target population. 104 respondents (or 69.3% of target) provided feedback on areas such as number of articles published, number of citations, and the nature of any collaboration with other authors. The findings of this survey revealed that, among the various designated regions of Pakistan, the Punjab region was the most highly represented. In articles published in national journals, there was a clear preference among all respondents to collaborate with at least one other author. The citation metrics for LIS articles in national journals were relatively low (30.22%), which aligns with Scimago’s Journal and Country Rankings. The uptake of social scholarly networks mirrors international trends. Respondents were asked to score factors which could impact negatively on their ability to undertake research and/or publish the results. The study recommends that concerned stakeholders work together, as appropriate, to address concerns. In addition, it recommends that further research be undertaken to define patterns of Pakistani co-authorship in the social sciences.

Objectives : The aim of this study is to investigate the current research trend of herbal medicine based on the published articles in pharmacoepidemiologic journals. Methods : A total of 3 electronic journals, Pharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety(PDS), Drug Safety and Journal of Pharmacoepidemiology and Risk Management(JPERM) from January 2013 to August 2018 were used for searching articles about herbal medicine. Selected articles were reviewed and classified under 5 categories-collection of adverse events in herbal medicine, statistical modeling and methodology, pharmaco-epidemiologic outcome study, drug utilization review(DUR), risk management system and regulation. Results : A total of 8 articles were finally included for analysis. 2 articles were categorized in collection of adverse events in herbal medicine, 1 was statistical modeling and methodology, 2 were pharmacoepidemiologic outcome study and 3 were risk management system and regulation. There was no article in DUR. And then pharmacoepidemiologic research trends of herbal medicine were summarized in classification of 5 categories. Conclusions : To sum up with these 8 articles of herbal medicine in pharmacoepidemiologic journals, herbal medicine was of interesting concern among researchers. The need for research on safety and risk management of herbal medicine is steadily increasing, pharmacoepidemiologic research about herbal medicine must be activated in Korea.

The distribution of electronic journals in Korea was rapidly diffused in the early 2000's constructing an organization for group buying of electronic resources. However, the price policies by publishers are various and it is admittable that these price policies haven't been reviewed closely. A need for development of reasonable and flexible price models has been recognized for a long time. Therefore this study investigates price models that were suggested in the many previous articles. This study focuses on analyzing several price policies which are suggested in the KESLI consortium, the biggest group buying organization of electronic resources in Korea. The ultimate aim of this study is to have an effect on the development of affordable price models to libraries and publishers.

As information technology has developed, the function of a library has been expanding gradually. The traditional library has changed into the electronic library so that users can directly access the library from remote sites and get electronic information without visiting the library. The purpose of this study is to build a model on the basis of the elements that are identified from the existing electronic libraries, and then to survey the current state of electronization in Korean university libraries. The electronic library model consists of four elements : OPAC, commercial online databases, CD-ROM databases, electronic books and journals, access to OPACs of other libraries, and access to other information resources through Internet.

Today, As the internet and electronic publishing technology was powerful and there are many benefits to using various academic information which has an electronic document of high quality. Many researchers had much required to see a full-text of electronic document. There was an requirement of digital achieving activities between countries for each other electronic document in order to safely preserve and services. In this paper, we have implemented an electronic document local-hosting system to provide free service to KESLI member institutions and provide pay-per-view service to individual users and small/medium size companies who are not member of KESLI and builded national long-term preservation system of electronic information resources.

Lately, most of the libraries subscribe electronic resources such as e-journals, under the license contracts for the access and use of these electronic resources. It was found that the management of licensed electronic resources in the library has become one of the major problems due to the lack of proper metadata elements in the existing management system of electronic resources. The purpose of the study is to establish metadata for licensed electronic resources.

To improve the international competitiveness of research and academic libraries in Korea, it is essential to review the total amount of domestic information resources in comparison with those of other advanced countries, and then to make their best use. In this study, an attempt is made to estimate the annual budget for collecting foreign knowledge information resources spent by academic and research libraries in Korea. This budget estimate could be used for a basis for setting up the appropriate collection size and the efficient channel for distributing and sharing information resources among academic and research libraries on the governmental level. The total budget for collecting foreign knowledge information resources, including foreign monographs and scholarly journals in print, and the budget for foreign electronic journals, and web databases were estimated for academic libraries and research libraries, respectively, while the budget for international document delivery services was estimated without distinction between the types of libraries.

This study aims to improve the accessibility of websites that can search for online e-journals and check the original text, and the accessibility of web contents in the form of article papers. In order to publish online e-journals in Korea, article contribution management system is used, and services are provided through public or private academic DB companies. There was no content related to accessibility in the publishing and editing stage of online e-journals. In the case of foreign countries, objective to comply with Level AA of WCAG 2.1 to improve accessibility of websites and web content. In addition, the level of accessibility of academic journals is guided through VPAT. In order to improve access to web content in online journals, Accessibility matters are added to the academic society's editorial and publication regulations. Accessibility education should be provided to journal editors. Accessibility checklists should be developed and researchers should verify themselves. To improve the accessibility of online e-journals to websites, For equal use, various convenience functions should be provided when using the website. It guides the accessibility function to the article contribution management system. Each academic and academic DB company should be required to submit a Korean VPAT.
