Radio interferences have been a frequent problem on the TRS service, which has been in operation in the southern coastal area of Korea since 1994. By Korea-Japan joint analysis, the main reasons of the radio interferences are due to the radio ducting signal from the seaside of Japan. As the mobile services become spreading in China as well as Japan, interference problems between Korea and China will occur more frequently in various frequency bands. Therefore, in this paper we propose a method for measurement and analysis of the radio interference signal, and summarize the measurement results of interference from China, which was performed to solve the interference problem between Korea and China.

It is necessary to apply SSB modulation method with high bandwidth efficiency to the DS-CDMA mobile communication systems in order to accommodate the increasing number of voice users as well as the broad band and high data rate service in the future. Even though the bandwidth efficiency increases if SSB modulation is applied to BPSK-DS/CDMA, its performance gets degraded because of the increased multiple access interference. Therefore for eliminating the increased multiple access interference, the SSB/BPSK-DS/CDMA with successive interference canceller(SIC) is proposed and its performance and capacity are analyzed. With the limited system bandwidth, it is shown that the SSB/BPSK-DS/CDMA with SIC can accommodate more capacity than the conventional BPSK-DS/CDMA with SIC.

In this paper, the derivation of the protection ratio for the digital microwave system with diversity is newly suggested for a basic guidance of initial planning for frequency coordination, and computational results are presented for an actual radio frequency band. The net filter discrimination has been also examined to see the effect of the adjacent channel protection ratio caused by adjacent channel interference. In addition, the protection ratios for the space or frequency diversity system are analyzed in terms of diversity improvement factors to find out an equivalent allowable noise-to-interference ratio (N/I) from degraded fade margin. According to results for 6.2 GHz system, with the space diversity of 25 m distance between antennas or the frequency diversity of ${\Delta}f/f=0.05$, under 64-QAM and 60 km at BER $10^{-6}$, the protection ratio can be greatly reduced in comparison to the non-diversity system. So, assuming that only the same protection ratio as the non-diversity system is kept, it is shown that the system with diversity may get more interference level of N/I allowing from 9.0 to - 5.9 dB or from 6.0 to - 4.3 dB for the space or frequency diversity. In consequence, it is concluded that the diversity system is more robust or tolerable for interferences or fades, which may play an important role in overcoming N/I to some extent.

In this paper, to counteract a cross-polarization interference caused by co-channel dual polarization technique of digital radio relay system(DRRS), we analyze the theoretical model and digital design of cross-polarization interference canceller(XPIC). In addition a complex adaptive time domain equalizer(ATDE) is designed using a finite impulse response filter, and the structure of XPIC and its control method are also illustrated including ATDE. Our computer simulation shows that about 25 dB signature and more than 23 dB XPIC improvement factor can be obtained with XPIC and ATDE. In order to verify the operation of designed XPIC, we review the simulated results in view of tap number, algorithm convergence, system signature, and XPlC improvement factor in connection with 64-QAM DRRS with co-channel dual polarization.

In this paper, we proposed and analyzed the performance of the partial SSPIC (Successive Serial Parallel Interference Cancellation ) scheme adopting modified successive serial interference cancellation (SIC) scheme. Modified partial successive serial cancellation (SIC) stage is used to effectively shorten interference cancellation delay. Performance is analyzed in Rayleigh fading channel with both perfect and imperfect channel estimation. From the results, proposed partial SSPIC I and II multiuser detectors can shorten effectively a detection delay at first SIC stage. The partial SSPIC type l detector outperformed the conventional concatenated SICPIC detector in both performance and capacity and type ll detector maintains similar performance. Proposed partial SSPIC multiuser detector can effectively improve the system performance without excessive detection delay.

IMT-2000 will provide worldwide mobile telecommunication services with the extended coverage areas such as polar regions and mountainous district. GMPCS also provides global telephony and paging services via satellite network at the altitude of 500~12,000 km. "Big LEO" which is one of the GMPCS systems using frequency above 1 GHz and IMT-2000 will share the frequency range of 1 to 3 GHz. Therefore, there exists possible interference between the two systems which can cause the performance degradation of both systems. In this paper, the radio-propagation modeling and interference analysis methods are presented and these methods are used to analyse the effect of the interference between IMT-2000 and GMPCS on system performance.rformance.
Radio sources are very weak, as they can travel through large distances. Radio sources also have photons with low energies compared to others electromagnetic waves (EM). Microwave photons have a little more energy than radio waves, infrared photons have still more, then visible, ultraviolet, X-rays, and the most energetic electromagnetic wave is gamma-rays. Radio astronomy studies are restricted due to radio frequency interference (RFI) produced by people. If this disturbance is not minimized, it poses critical problems for astrophysical studies. The purpose of this paper is to profile RFI maps in Peninsular Malaysia with a minimum mapping technique for RFI interference. Decision-making processes using GIS (Geographical Information System) for the selection requires gathering information for a variety of parameters. These factors affecting the selection process are also taken into account. In this study, various factors or parameters are involved, such as the availability of telecommunications transmission (including radio and television), rainfall, water lines and human activity. This mapping step must be followed by RFI site testing in order to identify areas of low RFI. This study will benefit radio astronomy research, especially regarding the RFI profile.

In this paper, we proposed the method of the interference evaluation between the microwave oven noise and the wireless LAN(Local Area Network) by using the GTEM cell. We used microwave oven noise in time to assess the interference unintentional noise effects on wireless LAN and realized by combining an AM(Amplitude Modulation) modulator and a FM(frequency Modulation) modulator. Also the GTEM cell can be used to guarantee the reliability by the evaluations of the frequency and time responses. As measurement results for the APD(Amplitude Probability Distribution) of the interfering noise we analyzed the effect of microwave oven noise to the throughput of wireless LAN.

In this paper, we have analyzed the effects of interference from HAPS ground stations to P-MP FWA base station and to P-MP FWA terminal station using more detail parameters such as a new interference model, a realistic HAPS scenario, practical antenna patterns for both the HAPS system and FWA systems. The analysis results show that, in the case of interference from HAPS GSs into a P-MP BS, compatibility of the two systems can be obtained by using a sectored BS antenna with the boresight directed away from the nadir. However, in the case of interference from HAPS GSs into a P-MP TS, the two systems cannot operate effectively in the same band unless the separation distance is guranteed and/or some form of interference mitigation technique is employed such as dynamic channel allocation.

Recently, World Radio Conference(WRC)-2007 approved the ultrawide bandwidth of 500 MHz for the use of spaceborne synthetic aperture radar in X-band for the EESS(Earth Exploration Satellite Service) in order to improve the SAR imaging resolution. It is concerned about the interference impact from the spaceborne SAR that may cause to most of ground radars due to the extended ultra wideband. In this paper, in order to predict the interference impact of the ground-based radar from the spaceborne radar, radar interference model is presented using radar characteristic parameters by taking into account the operating environments of the spaceborne and ground based radar in the time, space, and spectrum domains. Using the spaceborne SAR model of TerraSAR-X and ground radar model of meteorological radar recommended by ITU-R, the interference impact was assessed through the computer simulation to see the possible interference impact of the ground based radar operating in the Korean peninsula.
