Iridium (III) quinoxaline 착물의 전자 구조, 인광 및 전기 발광 특성에 대한 DFT 및 시간-의존 DFT 연구 (DFT and Time-dependant DFT Investigation of eLectronic Structure, Phosphorescence and Electroluminescence Properties of Iridium (III) Quinoxaline Complexes)

  • 3개의 적색 발광 Ir(III) 착물들인 $(fpmqx)_2Ir$(L) {fpmqx=2-(4-fluorophenyl)-3-methyl-quinoxaline; L=triazolylpyridine (trz) (1); L=picolinate (pic) (2) and L=acetylacetonate (acac) (3)}의 전자 구조, 흡수 및 인광 메커니즘, 전기 발광(EL) 특성을 양자화학적으로 연구하였다. 계산 결과에 따르면, 1의 HOMO는 강한 ${\eth}$-전자 받개 능력을 갖는 trz 부분에 편재되어 있으며, 2와 3의 HOMO는 Ir d-오비탈 과 페닐 고리 ${\pi}$-오비탈의 결합이라는 것을 나타내었다. 이 논문에서는 1-3사이의 인광 수득률과 차이에 대하여 연구하였으며, 1과 3보다 2의 EL 효율이 더 큰 이유를 합리적으로 설명하였다.

  • In this paper, we studied the matrix type Powder AC Electroluminescence using ZnS:Cu,Cl Phosphor. Previously, Powder AC EL was used in Backlighting of LCD. Rescently, organic Thin Film EL was rapidly developed because of high Luminescence and low applied voltage. But Powder AC EL has Superior features that include sheet like flexibility thickness, low weight, self-emission, a wide viewing angle and a fast response time. We tried to change of phosphor thickness and binder mixture rate in order to obtain the good condition of powder AC EL and we obtained the very low breakdown voltage that was just 15V. Till now, we measured the current-voltage(V-I), luminance-voltage(V-L), Luminance-current (L-I), color coordinate (CIE), and phosphor Intensity of variable thickness. In experiment result, the devices has the luminance of 840 cd/$m^2$ and improved color coordinate, x=0.1557, y=0.2145, using a 10kHz drive frequency.

PPV 발광층 및 전자 수송층을 가진 이종 접합구조 EL 소자의 제작 및 특성 (Fabrication and Characteristics of Hetero-junction EL Devices Containing Electron Transport Layer and PPV as Emitting Layer)

  • Poly(p-phenylene vinylene), PPV를 발광층으로 하고 전자수송층(electron transport layer, ETL)이 도입된 이중 접합구조 유기 전기발광소자(electroluminescence device, ELD)를 제작하고 전기 발광 특성을 조사하였다. 전자 수송제로는 2-(4-biphenyl)-5-(4-tert-butylphenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole(PBD)를 사용하고 이를 분산시킬 기재 고분자(matrix polymer)로는 stilbene계 공단량체를 포함하는 poly(styrene-co-p-vinyl-trans-stilbene (PVTS)), poly(styrene-co-MeO-PVTS) 및 poly(styrene-co-MeO-ST)를 합성하였다. 이들 재료를 이용하여 이종 접합구조 ELD를 제조하였으며 poly(styrene-co-PVTS)를 기재 고분자로 쓴 EL 소자가 최대의 휘도를 나타냄을 확인하였다. Poly(styrene-co-MeO-PVTS) 및 poly(styrene-co-MeO-ST) 등 전자 주게 성질을 가진 methoxy기를 함유하는 기재 고분자를 쓴 EL 소자는 전자 수송층이 없는 ITO/PPV/Mg 단층 소자와 휘도가 유사 혹은 낮게 나타났다. Poly(styrene-co-PVTS)를 ETL에 쓴 EL 소자에 있어서 styrene보다 긴 conjugation 길이의 증가가 EL 발광 스펙트럼에 미치는 영향은 크지 않고 실제 발광은 PPV에 의해 주로 일어남이 관찰되었다.

  • Orange-yellow phosphor has been synthesized by solid-state method for inorganic EL devices. Zinc sulfide is used as host material for the phosphor and the phosphor consists of copper and manganese as activators. The dependence of the photoluminescence (PL) and electroluminescence(EL) properties on the copper and manganese concentrations has been investigated.

  • SrS:Ce thin films for blue EL devices are prepared by Hot Wall Method and their crystallographic and optical characteristics are investigated by various methods. Deposition rates are decreased with substrate temperature, but increased with SrS cell temperature. The crystallographic characteristics are strongly affected by deposition rates. The peak of photoluminescence are found ar 470 and 540nm.

  • Electroluminescence(EL) devices based on organic thin films have attracted lots of interests in large-area light-emitting display. Recently, many EL researcher have interested a new emissive organic material. In this study, light-emitting organic electroluminescent devices were fabricated using Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) technique with new emissive organic material. This new emissive organic material were synthesis by our teams and we called PECCP [poly(3,6-N-2ethylhexyl carbazoly cyanoterephthalidene)] which has strong electron donor group and electron acceptor group in main chain repeat unit. This material has good solubility in common organic solvent such as chloroform. THF, etc. and has a good stability in air. In here, the new emissive material is applied to Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) method because our new material has a good stability in air. Optimum conditions of film deposition were examined by a surface pressure-area( $\pi$ -A) isotherms with various factors. The LB film were deposited on a indium Tin Oxide(ITO) glass. We were investigated by measuring current-voltage(I-V) characteristics. Also we were measured the UV/visible absorption at about 410nm and PL spectrum at about 530nm. We are attempt to the electroluminescence device properties of the new emissive material by Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) technique.

유기 EL 소자의 전기-광학적 특성 (Electro-optical properties of organic EL device)

  • ITO(indium-tin-oxide)/PPV(poly(p-phenylenevihylene))/음극 전극의 단층구조와 ITO /PVK(poly(N-vinylcarbazole))/PPV/음극전극의 이층구조를 가진 유기 EL(electroluminescence) 소자를 제작하였으며, 전기-광학적 특성을 측정하였다. 실험 결과, 단층구조에서는 PPV막의 열변환 온도를 $140^{\circ}C$에서 $260^{\circ}C$로 증가할수록 최대 휘도가 $118.8\;cd/m^{2}$(20V)에서 $21.14\;cd/m^{2}$(28V)으로 감소하였고, EL 스펙트럼의 최대 피크가 500nm에서 580nm로 이동하였다. 또한, 음극전극의 일함수가 낮을수록 소자의 발광휘도와 주입 전류는 증가되었다. 이층구조에서는 PVK막의 농도가 감소함에 따라 발광휘도가 $70.71\;cd/m^{2}$(32V)에서 $152.7\;cd/m^{2}$(26V)으로 증가하였다.

Systematic Approaches for Blue Light-emitting Polymers by Introducing Various Naphthalene Linkages into Carbazole Containing PPV Derivatives

  • Poly(2,3-naphthalenevinylene-alt-N-ethylhexyl-3,6-carbazolevinylene), 2,3-PNCPV, poly(2,6-naphthalene vinylenealt- N-ethylhexyl-3,6-carbazolevinylene), 2,6-PNCPV, and poly(1,4-naphthalenevinylene-alt-N-ethylhexyl-3,6- carbazolevinylene), 1,4-PNCPV were synthesized through the Wittig polycondensation reaction. The conjugation lengths of the polymers were controlled by differently linked naphthalenes in the polymer main chain. The resulting polymers were completely soluble in common organic solvents, and exhibited good thermal stability at up to $400^{\circ}C$. The synthesized polymers showed UV-visible absorbance and photoluminescence (PL) in the ranges of 357-374 nm and 487-538 nm, respectively. The carbazole and 2,3-linked naphthalene containing 2,3-PNCPV showed a blue PL peak at 487 nm. A single-layer light-emitting diode was fabricated with an ITO/polymer/Al configuration. The electroluminescence (EL) emission of 2,3-PNCPV was shown at 483 nm.

Coronene을 이용한 청색 유기전계 발광 소자의 개발 (Blue Light Emitting Electroluminescence Diode)

  • Blue light emitting electroluminescence(EL) diodes were fabricated utilizing Coronene and some organic materials. Coronene showed photoluminescence(PL) peak at 450nm in solution with high quantum efficiency. Multi layer system was applied to fabricate EL diode utilizing Coronene. The device showed didode-like applied voltage-current relationship. And blue light emitting was observed. The decay time of device was in a scale of some seconds. The trun-on voltage of device was about 9 V.

Synthesis and Luminescent Properties of Blue Light Emitting Polymers Containing a 4,4' or 3,3'-Linked Biphenyl Unit

  • Poly[4,4'(3,3')-biphenylenevinylene-alt-2-methoxy-5-(2-ethylhexyloxy)-1,4-phenylene-vinylene], 4,4'(3,3')-PBPMEH-PPV, and poly[4,4'(3,3')-biphenylenevinylene-alt-N-ethylhexyl-3,6-carbazolevinylene], 4,4'(3,3')-PBPCAR-PPV, of varying effective conjugation lengths, were synthesized by the well-known Wittig condensation polymerization between the appropriate biphenyl diphosphonium salts and dialdehyde monomers such as carbazole or dialkoxyphenyl dialdehyde. The conjugation lengths of the polymers were controlled by biphenyl linkages (4,4' or 3,3'). The resulting polymers were highly soluble in common organic solvents and exhibited good thermal stability up to $300^{\circ}C$. The synthesized polymers showed UV-visible absorbance and photoluminescence (PL) in the ranges of 314-400 nm and 430-507 nm, respectively. Carbazole and 3,3'-biphenyl containing 3,3'-PBPCAR-PPV showed a blue PL peak at 430 nm. A single-layer light-emitting diode was fabricated in a configuration of ITO/polymer/Al. Electroluminescence (EL) emission of 3,3'-PBPCAR-PPV was shown at 455 nm.
