심야용 축열식 전기온풍기의 화재 위험성에 관한 연구 (A study on Fire Hazard of Electric Radiant Heating Systems with Thermal Storage Using Off-peak Electricity)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the fire danger of the electric radiant heating system and check the way how to use it and the problems that could be possible through a actual case. We carry out an experiment to identify the possibility of the fire in the similar condition of the actual fire case. The results of this study are as follows. It is a possible condition to fire if the air blast of the electric radiant heating system is blocked by some combustible materials such as plastic bags continuously. A temperature sensor and a residual current device are necessary to disconnect the power source. It is also necessary to attach a notice in front of the electric radiant hearing system that shows users the fire danger to forbid the possible fire. Fires could be happened by internal defects of the electronic products. However, we can also find many external reasons to happen fires. Therefore, we need to check all reasons to make fires in the scene of a fire.

  • Approximately 20% of the total fire is electrical fire, and electrical energy is a potential source of heat. Large-scale fault currents that occur during a line ground fault flow into electric utility poles, electric power equipment, or electric appliances of the customer, and cause simultaneous electrical fire. In this paper, we investigated the possibility of fire through the change of fault current flowing in faulty and sound feeder in case of 1 line ground fault in 22.9 kV distribution line. We propose a fire investigation analysis method for simultaneous multiple electrical fire such as evidence analysis method, and fault current occurrence confirmation method in case of fire accident by analyzing the fault current occurring in the ground fault in the distribution line using EMTP, electric power system analysis program.

전기장판의 화재위험성 실험연구 (An Experimental Study on the Fire Hazard of Electric Heating Pad)

  • 본 연구는 가정용 전열제품인 전기장판에 대한 화재실험과 난연성실험을 통하여 화재위험성을 분석하였다. 화재실험은 정상조건에서 정격전압을 인가하는 경우와 온도조절기 고장시 정격전압이 인가되는 경우를 모델링하였다. 난연성실험은 UL 94의 수직 연소시험방법을 이용하여 전기장판의 난연성능을 평가하였다. 실험에 사용된 전기장판의 종류는 전기매트, 전기요, 비닐장판이다. 실험결과 온도조절기가 고장난 상태에서 정격전압이 인가되는 경우 화재위험성이 높은 것으로 나타났으며 전기장판의 재질은 난연성이 없는 것으로 나타났다.

  • Fire hazard and risk analysis at Nuclear Power Plants is implemented on the basis of the normal operational configuration. This steady configuration, however, can be changed due to the temporary displacement of equipment, electric cable and irregular movement of workers through the fire compartments when the on-line maintenance is processed during the power operation mode or the scheduled outage mode for the refueling. With the consequence of this configuration change, the fire analysis condition and the evaluation result will be different from those that were analyzed based on the steady configuration. In this context, at this paper, the general items for the reassessment are categorized when the configuration has changed. The contemporary zone models for the detail fire analysis are also illustrated for their application for each classified condition.

  • 본 논문은 카본열선을 사용하는 전기장판에서 발생한 전기화재에 관하여 기술하였다. 카본열선을 사용하는 전기장판은 카본 재질의 특성상 전기용접이나 납땜 등의 방법으로 접속이 불가능하며, 열선 끝단을 카본 재질의 연결부를 만들어 접속해야 한다. 이러한 과정에서 열선 사이의 불완전 접속이 발생되며, 불완전 접속부에는 접촉저항의 증가로 국부적인 발열이 발생되고, 최종적으로 화재사고로 진전된다. 본 논문에서는 카본 열선 접속부에서 불완전 접속이 형성되는 경우, 접속부에서 전기적 발열에 의해 발생되는 열선의 손상 형태를 분석하여 화재원인을 규명하였다. 이러한 분석 결과는 카본 열선을 사용하는 전기장판의 화재원인 조사의 기초 자료로 활용 가능할 것으로 기대한다.

Review on the New Fire Protection Standard for Nuclear Power Plants and Investigation for the Applicability of the Performance-Based Fire Modeling

  • NFPA-803 has been referred as the Fire Protection Standard at the Nuclear Power Plants of Pressurized Water Reactor. This Standard has been used as the fire protection regulation, containing prescriptive requirements with deterministic methodology. Recently, with cumulative efforts by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and Utilities in America to establish a new Standard, including a quantitative evaluation methodology, NFPA-805, the Performance-Based Standard for FIRE Protection for Light Water Reactor Electric Generating Plants was issued and approved by the American National Standards Institute as an American National Standard with an effective date of February 9, 2001. This paper presents an analysis result from the computer modeling for the fire simulation In addition, it proposes the idea that this kind of analytic method can be available for the facilities design of fire prevention and protection fields, as well as an evaluation for the fire suppression system with a quantitative analysis for the thermal phenomena in fire compartments in Nuclear Power Plants.

회로 차단기 절연파괴로 인한 직류 전기철도 화재 사고사례 분석 (Analysis of Fire Accident on DC Electric Traction Vehicles Caused by Breakdown in the Line Breaker)

  • Fire or electrical problem while DC electric traction vehicle operation caused by various reasons can lead to not only suspension of the operation, but also severe aftermath such as massive casualty. In this paper, fire analysis on DC electric traction vehicle caused by electrical breakdown on line breaker, which is in connection with the power supply, is presented. When the electric arc, the by-product of frequent line breaker operation, is not fully diminished, it leads to electrical breakdown and fire. Especially, electrical breakdown can be easily induced by the open-and-close operation of inner contractor inside line breaker, eventually followed by ground fault and generation of transient current. Electric arc is consequent on the ground fault and acts as possible ignition source, leading to fire. Also, during the repetitive operation of the line breaker, the contactor is separated each other and some copper powder is generated, and the copper powder provided breakdown path, resulting in fire.

  • This paper describes a cause of fire accidents on power system for DC electric traction vehicles. We investigated fire scene of power line for DC electric traction vehicles. From analysis results, the cause of fire on power line turned out line to ground fault between a feeder of electric power services(pantagraph) and DC electric traction vehicle roof. Fire accidents of DC electric traction vehicles be assumed that electric sparks had been produced between the pantagraph and the power line conductor by repetitively making contact and separation, maybe if some material like branches get in between connecting rod it make progress line to ground fault. ZnO arresters are widely used to protect DC electric traction vehicles against overvoltages caused by lightning or switching surges. However, the arresters are deteriorated by commercial frequency overvoltages and/or lightning one. Deteriorated arresters could lead power failures, such as line to ground fault by a thermal runaway resulting from the increases in leakage current even in a nominal power system voltage. The power failures, such as line to ground fault would be causative of the fire accidents.

  • This study presents on the analysis fire hazards of drum type electric washing machine. In order to analyze fire hazards fire experiment is conducted. The fire experiment is conducted to simulate under the normal condition and abnormal condition. The experiment under the abnormal condition is simulated in safety device failure, situation of accumulated dust and tracking phenomenon caused by humidity. The results show that fire hazard is high at the abnormal condition. In this paper, we suggest to use the safety device of low operating temperature in electric washing machine for reducing fire hazard.

트래킹에 의한 전기화재 가능성 예측 (Prediction for Possibility of the Electric Fire by Tracking Breakdown)

  • 전기화재의 주요 원인 중 하나인 트래킹은 서서히 진전하는 특징을 가지기 때문에 진전단계를 분석함으로서 화재가능성을 예측할 수 있다. 본 논문은 부하가 연결된 모의 전기설비에서 트래킹에 의한 전기화재 가능성을 예측하고자 시도하였다. 부하는 무유도 저항을 사용하였고, 트래킹은 모의 전기설비의 일부인 비닐캡타이어 타원형코드에 전해액을 적하하여 발생시켰다. 트래킹에 의한 전기화재 가능성을 예측하기 위해 모의 전기설비의 전체 전류파형을 검출하였다. 전류파형으로부터 트래킹 진전을 분석하기 위해 시간-에너지 변환과 확률분포를 이용하였고, 이를 신경망에 입력함으로써 전기설비 내에서 전기화재의 발생가능성을 4단계로 예측할 수 있게 하였다.
