The Development and Evaluation of a Program for Understanding Gender Differences in Dating Relationships (이성교제에서의 남녀차이 이해 증진 프로그램 개발 및 평가 -대학생을 중심으로-)

  • An education program was developed and evaluated to improve college students 'understanding on gender differences in dating relationships. This program was designed based on literature review and a survey of students' preference on subjects concerned with dating and premarital education. The program consisted of three sessions which were ‘Are men & women different\ulcorner’, ‘How are they different\ulcorner’, and ‘How can we cope with the differences\ulcorner’. Questionnaires and pre/post interviews were adopted for evaluation of the program. Participants reported that they were satisfied with the structure of the program as well as the teaching methods and materials. The program was effective in recognizing the existence of gender differences, understanding gender differences, and improving skills to maintain intimacy in dating relationships.

The Home-based Program for Child with Sensory Modulation Disorder: Case Study (감각조절장애 아동에 대한 가정 프로그램의 적용 - 사례연구)

  • Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of the home-based program composed of sensory diet for child with sensory modulation disorder. Method: The subject underwent the home-based program composed of sensory diet for 8 months. Evaluation tools we used are the Developmental Screening Test II(DDSTII) for developmental screening; the Short Sensory Profile(SSP), clinical observation and the clinical history record form for sensory integrative function; the Motor-Free Visual Perception Test(MVPT) and draw a person test for visual perception. Evaluation was executed before and after the program is provided. Results: The subject has showed remarkable improvement in developmental level, sensory integrative function and visual perceptual ability after went through the home-based program. Conclusion: The home-based program composed of sensory diet is effective for children with sensory modulation disorder when it is difficult to apply classical sensory integrative approach.

  • Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome(OSAS), that is a complex disease of neuromuscular, respiratory and cardiovascular system, can be cured by various treatment such as weight control, medical and surgical intervention. As most of OSAS may be caused by various anatomical abnormalities, preoperative evaluation for exact anatomical site of obstruction must be needed. And various diagnostic procedures such as fiberoptic nasopharyngoscopy, Mueller test, cinefluoroscopy, cephalometry, computerized tomography, polysomnography would be used for this purpose. Uvulopalotopharyngplasty is currently the most popular method for the patient with OSAS among various surgical maneuvers and is very effective for the relieving the symptoms as like snoring, daytime somnolence, and nocturnal restlessness etc. Although subjective improvement is not compatible with it's objective assessment in postoperative evaluation for it's results, uvulopalatopharyngoplasty could be a recommandable surgical procedure because of it's ample effectiveness in promoting symptom improvement without any risk of serious complications.

  • It is important to estimate the capability for the facilities and the condition of schools continually and correctly because the structure's life is remained more longer through the effective building control and preservation. In accordance with above of that, it is required to understand the knowledge about all matters at the stage of management for educational facilities and establish the procedure of the facility management consistently. This research suggests the method, which remains consistent and objective and deals with the total functional degree by following ㄴthe way to systemize the management plan of the facility estimation. The functional estimation of the existing facilities will be useful to make an plan for repair, maintain and checking of them as well as be the standard for remodeling and the educational facility duration, including long period project for building mending.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to report clinical effect of herbal medicine on developmental disorder Methods: The patients were treated with herbal medicine and evaluated by gross motor function measure(GMFM), and pediatric evaluation of disability inventory(PEDI). Results: The patient's gross motor function measure, and pediatric evaluation of disability inventory were significantly improved after six months to nine months of herbal medicine treatment. Conclusions: This study shows that herbal medicine is effective on developmental disorder induced. However, further clinical studies are needed.

  • The fetus is completely dependent on mother for glucose and other nutrient transfer across the placenta. At birth, when the maternal supply is discontinued, the neonate must adjust to an independent existence. The changes in the neonate's glucose homeostasis during this transition to the extrauterine environment are influenced by the mother's metabolism and intrinsic fetal and placental problems. Maturation of carbohydrate homeostasis results from a balance between substrate availability and coordination of developing hormonal, enzymatic, and neural systems. These mechanisms may not be fully developed in neonates, so the neonate is vulnerable to carbohydrate disequilibrium resulting in damage to the central nervous system. Hypoglycemia is a relatively common metabolic problem seen during newborn care. However its definition, management and long term sequalae remain controversial. Hyporglycemia occurs frequently as a transient disorder with excellent prognosis. It also may persist and recur and cause permanent neurological complications. Although the key to effective treatment of hypoglycemia is diagnostic specific, the maintenance of euglycemia is critical to the preservation of central nervous system function. This article discusses physiology of perinatal glucose homeostasis, focusing on evaluation and treatment of hypoglycemia.

A Study on a Site Selection Model of Marine Products Centers (수산물 산지종합처리장 부지선정 모형 개발 및 적용에 관한 연구)

  • Recently increasing amount of efforts has been devoted to the improvement of logistics in the marine products industry. Yet, few studios have been conducted on the development of site selection models of marine products centers. This paper Proposes a systematic assessment model for the decision making, which is composed of a set of evaluation criteria and an appropriate evaluation method. In choosing criteria we consider completeness and comprehensiveness to reach a right solution. For more flexibility of the model in the future, this study proposes two sets of criteria according to the size of planned centers. The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is adopted in this study, since the criteria incorporate both subjective factors and objective factors and the AHP is known effective in the situation. This study then illustrates the model application with plausible alternatives. Finally, a dependency problem in the decision criteria is discussed and the Analytic Network Process (ANP) is recommended, in the context, as e solution method.

A Digital Signal Processing System for Analysis of Skeletal Muscle EMG Signal (골격근의 근전도 신호 분석을 위하 디지탈 신호처리 시스템의 설계)

  • In the clinical environment, measurements of some characteristics of the skeletal muscle are currently used to assess the severity of a neuromuscular disease or in some cases to assist in making a diagnosis. But a quantitative method of evaluation has not yet been introduced satisfactorily. In this paper, the skeletal EMG(biceps muscle, masseter muscle) analysis has been processed both in the time and in the frequency domain by designing the digital signal processing system based on pentium PC and transputer (IMS 7805). The experiment have been performed in five normal subjects, and various parameters have been statistically tested and compare4 As a results, the effective parameters obtained for the evaluation of skeletal EMG electrical activity are turn analysis, MiTi, MiTa, IEMG, PDF in the time domain, and are mean frequency, median frequency, skewness, kurtosis, muscle fatigue slope in the frequency domain. The designed H/W and S/W in this study can be used effectively for the establishment of EMG data base and for clinical research.

  • As an effective way of response evaluation in structural vibration analysis, the phase vector sum(PVS) method used in shaft torsional vibration analysis is introduced. Basic relation of PVS applicable to structural problem is derived and applied to Diesel engine structures. Concepts of forced phase vector sum (FPVS) and significance level (SL) are proposed to visualize the correlation between excitation orders and vibration modes in the SL map. The maximum responses and SL are compared and reviewed to confirm the validity of the method. It is regarded FPVS is adequate to newly evaluate the structural vibration based on excitation information.

  • Several simulation techniques have been developed which are not practical deformation processes but are designed to embody specific tribological aspects. Sliding rolling type friction test machine (Cold rolling tribosimulator) was developed to simulate the tribological phenomena at the roll bite in real mill by laboratory scale. A rolled material is fed at a low speed of Max. 1/20 to that of roll speed, so as to obtain simultaneous plastic deformation in the material during rotation of the rolls in simulator. New cold rolling tribe-simulator is effective for evaluation of the lubricity of lubricant in cold rolling process.
