The properties of High Performance Concrete Using Fly Ash and Blast-Furnace Slag (플라이애쉬 및 고로슬래그를 사용한 고성능콘크리트의 특성)

  • In this study, to increase fluidity and resistance of segregation of materials, the effect of each of the materials, which have effects on high performance concrete from investigating the properties of strength and drying shrinkage of high performance concrete made by the basic mix proportion used fly-ash and ground granulated blast-furnace slag after hardening, has been checked. By the results of this experiment, fluidity on W/C=34% was satisfied within slump-flow 65$\pm$5cm and U-type self-compacting difference 5cm. On the properties of strength, high performance concrete produced compressive strength over 400kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ in 28days when powder was replaced by 40% of fly-ash and 60% of ground granulated blast-furnace slag. And compressive strength was taken over 600kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ equal to non-replacement in 91days. Also, the length change of concrete with the addition of fly-ash was smaller than that without it. Therefore, it may be effective on the decrease of drying shrinkage volume.

  • We study on the segregation reduction effect of Self-Leveling Color Mortar by using variable composition set of plasticizer and thickener, Naphthalene, melamine and polycarbonate-based dispersants were employed as plasticizers for examining on fluidity of mortar mixtures. For enhancement of mortar stability without loss of it's fluidity, two types of thickener were used such as polysaccharide(PS) and hydroxyethylcellulose(HEC). As a result, the most effective mortar was composed by feeding 0.519% of polycarbonate-based dispersant with 0.002587% of PS and 0.155844% of HEC on amount of basic mortar.

  • This paper describes the properties analysis of concrete using bleeding reduction agent. According to the results, the fluidity and the air content of fresh concrete with increase of bleeding reduction agent show little difference in compare with plain concrete which does not use bleeding reduction agent. The efficiency of bleeding reduction agent is confirmed because in variation of W/C and slump, the increase of bleeding reduction agent dosage reduces bleeding remarkably. And the compressive strength of hardened concrete does not show any differences with increase the dosage of bleeding reduction agent. Bleeding reduction agent does not have bad effect on the quality of concrete such as fluidity, air content and the strength of hardened concrete and so on, the dosage of it can reduce bleeding effectively.

  • This paper is to investigate the effect of W/B, blend ratio of crushed sand with sea sand on fluidity and strength properties of high strength concrete utilizing crushed sand. W/B set up 0.25, 0.30, 0.35 and the blend ratio of crushed sand with sea sand set up 0:100, 30:70, 50:50, 70:30, 100:0 The results of this study are summarized as the follows; 1) The increase of the blend rate of crushed sand, affected on the enhancement of flow, the increase of dosage of SP and water content, but the decrease S/a 2) Compressive strength is increased when crushed sand $30\~70\%$ was replaced with sea sand. 3) The optimal replacement percentage of crushed sand is $50\%$ with sea sand.

  • This study evaluated the crack reduction characteristics of concrete by type of fiber reinforced concrete. As a result of the experiment, it was shown that the fluidity decreased due to the mixing of the fiber reinforcing material. The higher the amount of fiber reinforced material used, the higher the decrease in fluidity. It was confirmed that the tensile strength was improved by the mixing of the fiber reinforcing material. The selection of fiber reinforcement has a great influence on the crack reduction effect.

  • This paper investigates the influence of fine aggregates on bleeding of concrete. According to test results, as water content decreases, crushed sand content increases, fluidity shows decline tendency. As for aggregates kinds, concrete using sea sand shows most fluidity loss among the tested results. Compressive strength gains highly when crushed sand is used. As for bleeding of concrete, bleeding shows decline tendency because of increasing in powder content and filling effect of voids. Bleeding amount is in a decreasing order of magnitude for concretes made with the following aggregates: sea sand, river sand, and crushed sand. Accordingly, crushed sand mixed with river sand and sea sand with certain proportion enable to reduce bleeding and enhance strength.

  • The numbers of synthetic greases have been developed with synthetic oils because of their excellent performance factors including thermal/oxidation stability, low-temperature fluidity and plastic compatibility. Long life under high-temperature condition and excellent low-temperature fluidity are required to serve as grease for bearings of engine room electrical component. As many plastics are used in place of metals for the purpose of weight saving, synthetic hydrocarbon grease is in use to avoid adverse effect on plastics. Other various special synthetic greases are also in use depending on specific requirements like conductivity and vacuum condition.

  • Concrete has been used for many years as a composite material that has excellent mechanical properties and durability for construction. However, concrete ia a poor electrical conductor, especially under dry conditions. Concrete that is excellent in both mechanical and electrical conductivity properties may have important applications in the electrical, electronic, military and construction industry (e.g for de-icing road from snow). The purpose of this investigation is to improve the electrical conductive of cement mortar preparared with graphite as filler. From the test result, as the ratio of graphite/cement increased, fluidity, fluidity and strength decreased but resistivity decreased. The resistivity of electrical conductive cement mortar is effect by water/cement ratio and water content of specimen. From this study, it is enough to assure the use of graphite as a conductive filler for electrical conducive cement mortar.
