  • The article is based on a model, in the context of which there are two fundamental building blocks of basic library skills and skills in the use of information technology. The former are formed within the framework of educational programs for users of academic libraries, the latter are formed within the framework of initiatives such as the European Computer Driving License. Between the basic and the highest levels of the concept of "information literacy" there are seven heading skills and attributes, the repeated practice of which leads from the position of a competent user to an expert level of reflection and critical awareness of information as an intellectual resource. Freshmen will likely be at the beginning of the arrow, probably practicing only the first four skills, while graduate students and young scientists will be closer to the end and will use seven skills.

Influence of the perceived educational environment on future career planning among nursing students in Egypt

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to examine attitudes and knowledge regarding career planning after graduation, as well as the perceived educational environment of a pediatric clinical course, among nursing students at Menoufia University in Egypt. This study also investigated the influence of the perceived educational environment on future career planning among nursing students. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was used, with a structured interview questionnaire that included demographic characteristics, a section that measured students' attitudes and knowledge toward their career planning, and the Dundee Ready Educational Environment Measure Scale (DREEM). Results: The mean total score for the DREEM scale was 109.61, and most students perceived many areas within the program as more positive than negative. However, they had low levels of knowledge regarding career planning. Conclusion: Based on the findings of this study, further efforts should be made to stimulate students' interest in pediatric nursing, to integrate theoretical content with practice, and to improve their planning activities early during their study. It is important to engage students in discussions concerning their ideas and worries about factors they perceive as less enhancing and more threatening in clinical settings.

Analysis of Outcome-based educational model in Engineering Education with preliminary Findings

  • The notion of outcome-based educational paradigm and its adaptability for higher education has become a recent growing and quite stirring trend. In the year 2017-18, this educational philosophy has been embraced by some of the higher educational institutions in Pakistan as well. This research attempts to investigate OBE and non-OBE systems in the context of students learning outcomes and academic attainment levels in engineering education in Pakistan. The study has been conducted on undergraduate students of MUET, Jamshoro, Sindh Pakistan. The students of the software engineering department are taken as the sample. Student cohorts are formed i.e., OBE and non-OBE (traditional/teacher-centered approach) cohorts. The summative assessments of semester exams are used for data analysis descriptive statistics and independent samples t-test is performed to set up the group statistic. The findings of this study show that, in terms of students' performance, the OBE system outperforms the traditional system and this transition in engineering institutions might be beneficial in the future.

학부모의 연령, 학력 및 소득수준에 따른 스마트교육 관련변인 태도분석 (Analyses on Attitudes to Smart Education-related Variables Based on Parents' Age, Levels of Education and Income)

  • 본 연구는 학부모들의 연령, 학력 및 소득수준에 따라 스마트교육과 관련된 주요 이슈에 대한 태도를 분석하기 위해 실시되었다. 설문내용으로는 주로 디지털 활용 교육효과, 스마트교육에 대한 이해도, 교육개선의 필요성, 그리고 태블릿PC의 개별구입 등과 관련된 것들이었다. 연구수행을 위해 서울시내 5개 초등학교로부터 수집된 432명의 학부모 설문결과가 활용되었다. 분석 결과 첫째, 학부모들은 태블릿 PC보다 일반 컴퓨터의 교육적 활용가능성에 보다 우호적이었으며, 휴대폰과 SNS의 교육효과에 대해서는 매우 부정적인 편이었다. 둘째, 스마트교육과 관련된 친숙도와 이해도는 어머니의 학력 및 가계수입과 비례하는 경향을 보였다. 셋째, 학부모들은 학교 교육방식의 변화 필요성, 그리고 학습자 측면에서는 자기주도 학습능력, 협력, 탐구능력, 창의성 등의 신장 필요성에 공감하였다. 넷째, BYOD 정책과 관련해서는 필요시 일정금액 한도 내에서 자녀에게 기기를 구입해 줄 수 있다는 의견이 우세하였다. 본 연구결과가 참조되어 학부모 의견이 적절히 반영된 스마트교육 시행이 요청된다.

수학교과서에서 사용하는 정의의 특성 분석과 수준 탐색 - 기하 영역을 중심으로 - (An Analysis of the Characteristics of Definitions and Exploration the Levels of Definitions in Mathematics Textbooks - In the Area of Geometry -)

  • The purpose of this thesis is, through analysing the characteristics of the definitions in Korean school mathematics textbooks, to explore the levels of them. Definitions use din academic mathematics are rigorous. But they should be transformed into various types, which are presented in school mathematics textbooks, with didactical purposes. In this thesis we investigated such types of transformation. With the result of this investigation we tried to identify the levels of the definitions in school mathematics textbooks. We tried to construct, with consideration about methods of definition, frame for analysing the types of the definitions in school mathematics. Methods of definition are classified as connotative method, denotative method, and synonymous method. Especially we identified that connotative method contains logical definition, genetic definition, relational definition, operational definition, and axiomatic definition. With these analyses we made a frame for investigating the characteristics of the definitions in school mathematics textbooks. With this frame we identified concrete types of transformations of methods of definition. We tried to analyse this result with van Hieles' theory about let·els of geometry learning and the mathematical language levels described by Freudenthal, and identify the levels of definitions in school mathematics. We showed the levels of definitions in the geometry area of the Korean school mathematics.

전북지역 중년기 여성들의 신체만족도와 유행지향성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Body Cathexis and Fashion Orientation of Middle-aged Women in Chonbuk Province)

  • The purpose of this study were to measure the body cathexis and the characteristics of middle-aged women groups segmented by their fashion orientation. Self-administered questionaire method was used. Seven demographic variables, 9 self-images, body cathexis were included as independent variables. Fashion orientation developed by Gutman and Mills was used. Data was collected from 369 Middle-aged women in Chonbuk Province. Frequencies, Percentages, means, standard deviation were caculated. ANOVA, cluster analysis, and discriminant analysis were used for data analysis. The results were as follows: 1. The body cathexis of the subjects were lower than capital city and increased according to age. 2. The self-image of the subjects were down-to-earth, modern, conventional, playing it safe, confident, stable, reserved and blending out into a crowd. The subjects with the self-image of being more sophisticated, confident, creative, stood out in a crowd, or complicated life style had higher body cathexis. 3. When the subjects were divided into segmentations according to their fashion orientation by cluster analysis, the best suitable number of groups was seven. The characteristics of seven groups were: *Fashion negatives showed low levels of fashion leadership and fashion interest, and medium level of importance of being well-dressed, and high level of antifashion attitudes. *Fashion neutrals showed medium levels of fashion leadership, fashion interest, and importnace of being-well dressed, and low level of antifashion attitudes. *Fashion uninvolveds showed low levels of fashion leadership, fashion interest, and antifashion attitudes. *Fashion followers showed high levels of fashion interest and importance of being well dressed, but low levels of fashion leadership and antifashion attitudes. *Fashion independents showed a littel bit high levels of fashion leadership, fashion interest, and importance fo being well-dressed, but low level of antifashion attitudes. *Fashion rejectors showed low levels of fashion leadership, fashion interest, and importance of being well-dressed, but high level of antifashion attitudes. 4. The seven groups segemented by their fashion orientation showed significant differences according to the educational levels, employment status, and total monthly income. Fashion leaders and fashion independents had higher educational level and monthly income, and involved more women with jobs. 5. Fashion leaders had self-image of being most sophisticated modern, diffenrent, creative, sociable, stood out in a crowd, and complicated life style. Fashion rejectors had self-image of being most down-to-earth, traditional, conventional, stable, reserved, blend into a crowd, and simplified life style. 6. The most effective variables among body cathexis, demographic variabls and self-images in discirminating fashion oreintation group differences were different-conventional, creativestable, and employment status. The discriminating power of above variables were high in very low in discriminating fashion negatives, fashion neutrals, and fashion independents, and the total discriminating power of these variables was 32.25%.

제7차 중학교 기술.가정 교육과정 상황과 투입 평가 -가정영역을 중심으로- (Context and Input Evaluation of the 7th Technology.Home Economics Curriculum in the Middle Schools focusing on Home Economics)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 제7차 가정 교육과정에 대해 CIPP모형을 적용한 상황과 투입을 평가하여 차기 가정과 교육과정의 발전에 기여하는데 있다. 본 연구는 경상남도에 소재한 중학교 가운데임의 표집한 250 개교에서 제7차 교육과정 기술 가정교과의 가정 영역을 담당하고 있는 교사를 대상으로 설문지를 발송한 후, 응답 수집된 109명의 설문지를 최종 분석 자료로 사용하여 이루어졌다. 자료에 대해서는 SPSS 10.0 for Windows 프로그램을 이용하여 빈도, 비율, 평균, 표준편차를 산출하였다. 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 상황 평가(교육 상황 평가)로 보면 가정 교육과정의 교육목표와 성격에 대한 요구 조사에서 '진로탐색'에 대한 요구도가 높게 나타나고, '가정생활에 대한 이해를 높임'에 대한 요구도는 낮게 나타났다. 담당 교사의 자신감도 부족하지만, 교과에 대한 학생의 흥미와 관심도 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째. 투입 평가(교육 계획 평가)로 보면 기술 가정 교육과정의 가정 영역에 대한 적절성에서 시간 배당, 내용 수준, 내용 분량에 대해 적절하지 못하다고 여기는 것으로 나타났으며 학교 수준에서 기술 가정 교육과정 구성과 교사의 수업지도안도 충실하게 이루어지지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 조사 항목 중에서 평가에 대한 학교 수준 계획 수립이 상대적으로 충실한 것으로 나타났고, 이에 비하여 교과 협의는 충실하게 이루어지지 않아 다양한 내용들을 제대로 협의하지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

수학의 형식과 대상에 따른 수학적 추론 지도 수준 (The Levels of the Teaching of Mathematical Reasoning on the Viewpoint of Mathematical Forms and Objects)

  • 본 연구는 학교 수학에서 추론 지도의 수준을 보다 상세히 구분해 보고자 한 것이다. 수학의 특징으로부터, 대상에서 분리된 순수한 형식적 관점은 새로운 지식의 창안에서 한계를 지닌다는 점을 알 수 있으며, 수학교육에서도 이를 반영할 필요가 있다고 본다. 이런 점에서 귀납 추론과 형식적 연역 추론의 매개 단계로서 구체적 조작이나 감각 경험과 관련된 직관적 증명의 수준을 설정하는 것이 적절할 것으로 생각되며, 이 수준의 핵심적인 활동은 경험으로부터 일반성을 통찰하는 것이다. 이 수준은 낮은 수준의 귀납 추론보다는 대상과 분리되며 보다 형식적인 논리의 개입을 필요로 하는 과정에 있다. 이와 같이 보다 점진적으로 대상으로부터 분리되고 형식적 논리를 학습할 수 있도록 추론 지도 수준을 구분하고, 이에 따라 수학적 추론을 지도하는 것이 필요할 것이다.

여대생의 자궁경부암 지식, 인유두종바이러스 예방접종 관련 건강신념 및 접종실태 (Knowledge about Cervical Cancer, Health Beliefs and Human Papillomavirus Vaccination Rate in Female University Students)

  • Purpose: This study was a descriptive study to determine knowledge regarding cervical cancer, health beliefs, and Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination rate of female university students. Methods: The subjects of this study were 777 female university students. The data were collected through interviews using a structured questionnaire from september 1 to October 30, 2010. The data were analysed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and chi-square test. Results: The mean of cervical cancer knowledge was low (13.75 score). Regarding health beliefs about HPV vaccination, the levels of perceived benefit (3.01 score) and seriousness (2.91 score) were relatively high, whereas the levels of perceived barrier (2.09 score) and susceptibility (2.01 score) were relatively low. The rate of HPV vaccination was 5.5%. Conclusion: These results show that concrete educational programs and advertisement are mandated to reduce HPV infection and increase HPV vaccination rate. Also the strategies emphasizing perceived seriousness and benefits of obtaining HPV vaccination are taken into account in developing educational programs in addition to knowledge improvement on HPV and cervical cancer.
