  • With the development of information and communications technologies, there have been increasing cases of services and use free educational materials in educational field through the Web. However, as most of the materials are provided in a finished form via the Web services, teachers are in a situation where they have difficulty in using the materials through development or revision according to their educational goals. In this background, this study aimed to develop requirements and functions necessary for the educational contents development tools by having teachers as actual users develop contents using existing tools of the educational contents development. As a result, this study developed 10 requirements, including intuitive interface environment, support for various multimedia materials, and diversification of output versions etc. Also, the study suggested 13 functions, including links with external resources, automatic format conversion function, usage and editing of existing documents, writing learner's answers, and hiding function etc.

  • A variety of educational digital contents are provided for both distance and on-line learning on the Internet recently. Especially, as edutainment fields are activated, fun-centered educational contents are improved so much. But it is still lack of high quality, which could lead a learner to study by himself without losing enjoyment for an appropriate duration (about $1{\sim}2$ years). A system, which enforces learning motivation for a learners positive learning, is demanded. This paper shows the planning and the implementation of learning Reward System (LRS) which is providing rewards a learner for achievement of the teaming object which is suggested by him (her) and his (her) mentors. LRS is aiming at enhancement of educational effects by providing both amusements and rewards employing edutainment contents.

  • In existing educational systems, it is impossible to synchronize multimedia contents and it is required additional client applications. SMIL(Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language) is based on XML which allows to arrange multimedia objects temporally and spatially, and it can represent multimedia effectively on Web browsers. It is possible to serve the high-quality multimedia on Web browsers by applying SMIL to the previous Web-based educational contents without any client applications. In this paper, we propose the method of developing multimedia educational contents applied by SMIL, and design an authoring tool with a function of transforming SMIL documents to XHTML documents. The tool allows common users to use easily without any plug-ins or applications.

  • The importance of ICT is being emphasized in this information-oriented society. In the 7th curriculum, it is necessary to use ICT more than 10% in teaching every subjects to keep pace with this trend. The distinctive feature of the curriculum lies in the introduction of various gradations and levels of the individual students. In this paper, by designing and applying the teaching idea based on educational contents, we analyzed how it has an effect on achieving of studies. As the results of this research, we found that teaching based on educational contents made students the meaningful increasement of interest in the controlled group and according to the increasement of the achievement in studying, the improvement of teaching are confirmed.

A Study for Contents Complement related to Ocean of the Kindergarten' guidebooks and Elementary School' Textbooks (유치원과 초등학교 교과서의 해양관련 내용 보완을 위한 연구)

  • It is required to amend the manuals and textbooks that have contents related an ocean. There are 4 manuals covered about an ocean from all of 12 manuals for the course of the kindergarten education. And there are also 47 textbooks related an ocean among 145 books for an elementary course of study. It is necessary to analyze educational goal, contents, and other concerns. Here is the amendment against present manuals and textbooks. The objective for teaching the kindergarten is involved in the manuals properly. But, It is required to revise 'the oceanic artificial environment and facilities', and 'marine pollution' in contents of the manual. Some contents don't mention about an ocean, so it is necessary to add photos and maps covered with marine parts. Plus, there are no mentions about the value and attitude for an educational goal in the elementary textbooks. And it is required to add the solutions to conserve the sea and ethics about oceanic preservation. Also, it is needed to utilize cartoons and maps which give students interest.

  • Most domestic educational mobile contents put special stress on learning foreign languages such as English, and usually the telecommunications companies and the education companies partner to provide mobile terminals with the contents such as video files. Recently the trend of mobile platforms for the educational contents have been changed because of the release the many kinds of smart phones like iPhone and Google Phone. In this paper, we design the educational contents for Korean listening education to aid to study Korean effectively as a foreign language. It carries out a detailed design to realize and run the contents based on the Android OS which is an open source platform backed by Google.

  • There has been an increasing interest in new industry and demand creations by the convergence and integration between IT and infrastructure and BT, NT, and CT and the convergence of IT and spread of cloud computing have changed the IT service environment. Even in the educational field, the convergence and integration of contents with various IT have rapidly emerged and learning equipments for the educational purpose have expanded to the mobile media platform from PCs so that learning without limitations to time, place and equipment has become possible. Contents necessary for the smart education are under way by research development utilizing cyber reality and simulation, and 3D technologies. The purpose of this study is to propose marine contents use and service plans for the educational purpose in order to produce various types of contents for the marine life and environment, to improve the school achievement by stimulating interest and to provide individually customized learning.

  • Recently, the number of People who want to study by online has been gradually increased. In addition, people's desire is increasing that represents their special knowledge and personality with new paradigm of UCC(User Created Contents). Most of the educational web-sites offer currently boring and unified educational contents without interesting objects. Therefore I want to solve these problems of existing online educational web-sites and I strongly propose the method of design to make the place educational and useful that everyone can enjoy and manifest the user's dispositions. On this study, it's possible to make pleasant environment and improve educational effects on cyber space by designing it in accordance with the individual tastes which have various design elements, beauties and facilities by the customized design method. As a result, this study proposes the model of online educational web-site having various interfaces and focusing on the customized design.

  • The Knowledge and information are rapidly built through networks; and, through this, epochal changes and developments are reoccurring in diverse societal economic cultural ways. Especially, digital-education emerging together with educational environment changes is taking its place as an educational system which will be able to replace traditional education methods by overcoming the limitations of time and space held by present education methods. The role of GUI(Graphic User Interface) design, which adds user cognitive power and convenience as a method of purveying innumerous information, is growing. Consequently in this research, through the analysis of educational contents utilized in public organizations, research is performed regarding an educational content design for a more effective education of learners.
