  • Recently the architectural paradigm have been changing into eco-friendly architecture as an sustainable architecture. This social background encourages the development of various methods of building applicable for eco-friendly buildings in architectural design. Among them, passive architecture is an design approach for eco-friendly design that contrasts with technology-based methods through MEP for renewable energy. This study researches the Passive Architectural Design methodology with two points of view; Passive Architectural Design Techniques as a guideline, which defines the elements to consider for passive architecture, and the project of Sejong Municipal Public Library as a case, which is to analysis the architectural design process. The purpose of this study is to propose an eco-friendly public building based on the methodology which is suitable for passive architectural design. Finally, this study suggests that the eco-friendly public building design for passive architecture should consider from the early step of design process, such as concept and building form etc. What is important for the passive architecture is not how much building can produce the natural energy but how less building consumes it to maintain.

  • The contemporary South Korean landscape is characterised by a massive display of modern apartment buildings. They are omnipresent in their monotonous manifestation and represent the dream of the Korean population. Serial mass housing is a typology that has had a great diffusion all over the world, but how has modern housing developed in South Korea? To this end, what are the resulting local adaptations?. This paper retraces these key evolutional aspects. Methodologically, it draws on a scholarly literature review as well as on-site photographic surveys, developed in connection with an educational program at the Korea Tech University. The result is the analysis of both the urban and architectural transformation from the early modernisation period to the present condition of contemporary housing. A historical background introduces Korean traditional urban houses, to be used as a context to describe the contemporary modern city that has developed since the 1960s. The main emphasis is then placed on the urbanisation process that fully matured during the 1980s together with a focus on the mass housing typology as the main pivot in the urban transformation. Finally, the paper will draw a parallel between modern Western theories and Korean applications.

대학 기숙사 건물의 안전성 및 사용성 평가 연구 (A Study on the Safety and Usability of University Dormitory Buildings)

  • This study evaluated the vibration use and safety of students living in the dormitories on the 12th and 14th floors by feeling uncomfortable. The measurement method was to measure the acceleration due to free vibration and single - person walking. The slab stiffness was then calculated, and the usability and safety were compared according to international standards. The natural frequency of the slab was 6.8 Hz. The natural frequency of a typical slab is around 15Hz. Therefore, the evaluation slab is judged as a flexible floor structure. It is considered that there is a high possibility of resonance in the middle of daily life because of low natural frequency and near harmonic component of walking vibration. As a result, the RMS acceleration level is within the tolerance range defined by ISO 10137 code, but the 13th floor exceeds the reference limit, so that a sensitive person could detect the vibration somewhat in the lying position.

  • 본 연구는 현재의 학교시설의 건축계획적 분석을 통하여 향후 학교시설의 계획단계에서 실용적으로 활용 가능한 피난 및 대피 동선의 최적화를 목적으로 한다. 건축물의 계획단계에서, 건축물의 기능과 목적에 따라 구분된 평면 및 단면상의 조닝(Zoning)을 하고, 이에 따라 동선이 결정된다. 화재 또는 지진의 발생을 비롯한 재난의 발생 상황에서 효율적인 피난동선의 유무는 학교시설에서 생활하는 모든 이들의 생사와 연결되는 중요한 사항임은 물론이다. 인간의 행동특성을 분석하고 이해한 후, 최적화된 동선계획을 통하여 효과적으로 피난이 가능할 수 있도록 건축계획 및 설계의 발전 시에 활용할 수 있도록 하고자 한다.

Construction of sports-educational places using resistant and water-repellent raw materials in concrete

  • Any place where exercise is common, such as a club, sports hall, or school, is considered a place for teaching sports. When doing sports, a very safe environment for sports should be chosen. The athlete should consider the safety of sports facilities and equipment, and if there is a defect, he should refrain from exercising in these places. The safety of sports facilities is very effective in creating people's sports activities, with the benefits of staying away from physical harm, enjoying sports, and having mental peace. Everyone has the right to participate in sports and recreation and to ensure that they enjoy a safe environment. The ability to manage and solve issues that may arise plays the most critical role in creating a safe environment. The quality of construction materials used for the construction of sports facilities is of great importance. In this work, the resistance and water repellency of concrete constituents for the construction of sports buildings have been investigated by nanoscience. Nano-concrete material solves the main problem of concrete surfaces, i.e., the entry of water and humidity into the structure. It also gives it a self-cleaning ability with its water repellency. Nanoparticles are placed between pores and cover the cracks, which causes roughness in the surface structure of concrete. The high roughness of the surface of the coated concrete caused its super-hydrophobicity. In hydrophobic surfaces, the higher the contact angle, the more hydrophobic the surface will be. In order to investigate the hydrophobic properties, silica nanoparticles, silica nanoparticles, and fly ash were prepared on concrete, and their properties were analyzed.

지역별 초·중등학교의 물리적 특성에 따른 에너지 사용량 분석 (Analysis of Energy Usage Quantity According to Physical Characteristics of Elementary, Middle, and High School of Each Regions)

  • 국내 학교시설은 교육 환경 개선 등으로 학습공간의 쾌적성과 편의성이 개선되었으나 에너지 사용량은 급증하였다. 미국에서도 마찬가지로 학교시설물의 에너지사용량은 1990년에서 2000년 사이에 17%가 증가하였고 특히 전기의 사용량은 25%나 증가하였다.(NCES 2003) 학교시설물의 에너지 사용과 관련하여 지난 10년 동안 지속적으로 전기와 가스 사용량을 억제하고자 노력하고 있으나 정확한 현재의 정보 분석과 이에 대한 구체적인 에너지 절감을 위한 실현 방안은 다소 부족하다. 이에 본 연구는 지역별 초중등학교의 물리적 특성에 따른 에너지 사용량을 분석하는 것이 목적이다. 본 연구는 학교에너지와 학교시설의 중요성에 대한 연구를 파악하고 2014년도 기준 초중등학교의 지역별 학교수, 학생수, 학급수, 학급원수 등의 개황을 파악한다. 지역별 학교의 에너지 절감을 위한 기본적인 현황 파악하기 위하여 2015 교육통계연보와 기상청 정보를 바탕으로 초중등학교의 물리적 특성(학교수, 학생수, 학급수, 학급원수 등)과 지역별 온도를 파악하여 초중등 학교시설물의 물리적 특성에 기반하여 지역별 에너지 사용의 특징을 파악한다. 즉, 학교 건축물의 전기 에너지 사용량을 일반고등학교수 대비 학교수, 학교당 학생수, 학급당 학생수, 일반고등학교 대비 학교수와 학생수 비율, 지역별 여건 등을 고려하여 지역별, 학교급별로 에너지사용량을 분석하고 시사점을 도출하고자 한다.

투자회수기간을 고려한 군 주거시설의 단열수준 산정 연구 (Insulation Level Assessment on the Military Residential Facilities Considering the Investment Payback Period)

  • Purpose: This study, which is based on the investment payback periods, aims to suggest the proper insulation level which can be adapted to the Defense Military Facility Criteria regarding the military residential condominiums. For the energy performance simulation, it is required to collect the residential data regarding the military condominiums and climatic data concerning the regions they belongs to. The estimates through energy performance simulation are the regional heating loads and the heating transmission coefficients of building components. Method: With the heating loads, the annual heating cost saving per square meters is assessed. With the heating transmission coefficients of building components, the additional insulation installment cost per square meters is evaluated. With two outcomes, one as an annual value and the other as a present value, the investment payback period is calculated. Result: In result, it could be concluded that 55~70% insulation ratio can lead a superior residental environments as well as be contributed to the national policy associated with zero-energy buildings because the estimated investment payback period is shorter than the life span of the military residental condominiums. This upshot can be used as a foundation to enactment the Defense Military Facility Criteria associated with military residential condominiums.

교회(敎會)의 교육공간(敎育空間)을 위한 매체(媒體)센터 시설(施設)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (A Study on the Educational Space in Religeous Buildings)

  • The importance of church school education is becoming more emphasized. To maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of church school education, frequent utilization of instructional media is more desirable. Systematic approach to media utilization will be developed by the extabilishment of church media center. The purpose of this study was to review the concept and components of church media center and to survey the current status and hope for the facility of church media center. For the survey the 400 questionnaries were distributed to pastors or missionaries who are responssible for education, or personnels in church media center in Korea. The churches that they belong to have above approximately 500 church members. Among the distributed questionnaires, the 202 were collected. The results of the survey are as follows. The printed media and the AV media were managed separately in most churches. Many church media center was shared the space with other programs. The space was allocated mainly for storage. Most respondants hoped that they have a variety of areas in their churches. Many church media center have no separation between the area for the adults and that for children. However, most respondants hoped the separation of that areas. Followings are suggestions for the plan of church media center facilities. The space only for the church media center should be allocated. Church media center should be located in the first floor of the building as soon as possible. (If there is elevators in the building, it may be located above first floor). If enough space for the church media center is allocated, the areas for the adults and children should be separated by partitions or separate room. The space should consist of various areas like circulation area, reading area, working area for the personnel, production area, and storing area.

학교시설의 장애물 없는 생활환경(Barrier Free) 인증 사례를 통한 정성평가 텍스트마이닝 기법 적용에 관한 기초연구 (A Basic Study on the Application of Text-Maining Method for Qualitative Evaluation through Barrier Free Certification in School Facilities)

  • BF인증을 도입하여 운영한 이래 2020년 2월까지 총 6,432건의 인증서 발급이 있었고, 그 중 교육연구시설은 건축물 6,237건 중 1,091건(예비인증 754건, 본인증 337건)으로 약 20%의 BF인증을 취득하였다. BF인증 건축물 평가지표 3개 항목 매개시설, 내부시설, 위생시설 중점적으로 정성평가를 실시하고, 그 도출 결과를 Text Mining 분석 통해 주요 키워드를 도출한다. 도출된 결과 매개시설의 경우 접근로에 대한 문제점이 발생되었으며, 내부시설의 계단에 대한 평가사항 중 사용자에 대한 평가지표 마련이 필요하다는 결과를 알 수 있었다. 마지막으로 위생시설의 경우 주민 개발시설에 설치되는 화장실에 대한 개선이 필요한 것을 알 수 있었다. 도출된 결과를 바탕으로 학교시설 BF인증에 필요한 평가지표가 별로도 마련되어야할 것이다.

사례분석을 통한 미래지향적 학교의 건축 계획적 특성 연구 - 교육공간구성을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Architectural Design Feature for Future School - Focusing on the Space Composition of Educational Space -)

  • 제4차 산업혁명을 맞아 시대적으로 현실이 요구하는 인재의 상과 교육의 패러다임이 변화하고 있다. 학교건축 또한 변화된 교육을 수용하는 방향으로 개선되고 있으며 그 움직임으로 국내외에서 학교건축개혁 정책들이 수립되었다. 본 연구는 이러한 흐름에 따라 미래지향적 학교의 건축계획적 공간구성의 특성을 고찰하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구방법은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 국내 선행연구조사를 통해 미래지향적 학교계획특성을 정리한다. 둘째, 선진사례분석을 통해 앞서 정리한 특성이 건축계획적으로 어떻게 적용되었는지, 활용요소의 실태를 정립하고 계획예시를 제시한다. 이때, 선행연구에서 지향해야 할 학교건축의 명칭을 'Future School', '미래학교'라 정한 것을 참고하여 본 연구는 이를 '미래지향적 학교'라고 명명한다. 본 연구는 미래지향적 학교계획 특성에 있어 건축 계획적 특성을 중심으로 다룬다는 점과 이론의 실제 적용사례에 초점을 맞췄다는 점에서 그 의의가 있다.
