The Harry Potter series is considered to represent the multicultural aspect of contemporary British society and to show critical perspectives of racism. This series, however, also includes many elements of British imperialism. This paper examines the ideas about education and Harry's role in relation to British imperialism. One of the main ideas prevalent in 19th century British boys' public schools was that people's blood origin is the most important element in determining their characteristics, ability and moral qualities. The students' inherited capacity and their family background are more highly regarded than their secondary learning and training. This reflects a 19th century concept that ultimately, inborn quality makes 'a hero', a truth presented in the educational policies of Hogwarts. Hogwarts' educational policies and systems can also be related to 'developmentalism', which defines children as imperfect, in-progress and incomplete, thus needing proper training and discipline. As this concept functioned to justify the control of children while educating them, Hogwarts adopts diverse controlling devices and oppressive policies, which are mainly justified in the name of education. On the one hand, child characters are controlled and oppressed by the school authorities, on the other hand, some of the students such as Harry have remarkable magic powers enough to resist the adult authority and even to save the magic society from the evil power. Harry plays dual roles, which the British boys of the Empire were assigned from their society; they are important heirs to conquer the 'evil' or 'barbarous' world but need to be obedient to a 'good' authority to achieve the mission. Harry's magic power and self-discipline ultimately contribute to fulfilling Dumbledore's mission, which mirrors 19th century British boys' roles as the heirs of the British Empire.
Aim : The purpose of this study was to investigate the hypothesis that treatment with self-checking behavior management program was valuable in the management of temporomandibular disorders compared with a existing method treatment group. Methods : All participants who are diagnosed with temporomandibular disorders were treated with medication and physical therapy. They came into the clinic at intervals of two weeks, three times. The signs and symptoms were assessed investigating Pain NRS(Numerical Rating Scale), MCO(Maximum comfortable opening), Noise NRS, LOM(Limitation of Mouth opening) NRS at every visit. Experimental group received instructions repeatedly by using self evaluation questionnaire. Control group was educated once at the beginning of treatment. The difference Pain NRS, MCO, Noise NRS, LOM NRS between first and second visits, first and third visits were estimated.. Result :Experimental group showed greater improvement on MCO difference after stopping medication(p=0.001). This improvements were prominent in the male(p=0.001) and the first or second decade of the patients(p=0.004). Conclusion : The present study showed that there was better result when educating repeatedly with using self evaluation questionnaire than educating once at the beginning of the treatment.

The purpose of this study was to put forth of a future vision from examining of social contribution, future direction, and theoretical framework of home economics education and its cases of practice in educational setting. This study was carried with literature review, and results of study were as follows: First, home economics education should contribute to society through (1) educating individuals suffering from family tiredness to maintain autonomous lives free from distorted family ideology by being critically conscious of them in individual dimension, (2) educating individuals to develop a competence as a citizen to be critical of family ego-centric ideas and to participate and support communal life in family-social dimension, and (3) educating female and male students gender sensitivity and management of family life to be critical of gender discrimination ideology in gender dimension. Second, future home economics education should reinforce all round character education which let students develop their creativity and problem solving ability and foster students' wisdom of life with honesty and morality rather than merely acquiring knowledge in individual dimension. Third, this study employed Brown and Paolucci's conceptual scheme as a theoretical framework which focuses on the role of home economics education leading individuals and families as a changing agent. This framework let individuals and families to critically examine the social character and ideas provided by existing social, economical, and political systems, and to transform social character and ideas to build an ideal societal condition when there are any problems in them. Fourth, this study examined sample classroom instruction of Japan and FCCLA of United States of America to see how they educate students to become a changing agent. In conclusion, future vision of home economics education is to accomplish family revolution to sustain happy family relation and their family lives in which they feel pampered from achievement and free from distorted family ideology. For home economics to accomplish family revolution, it should strengthen education for empowerment, enlightenment, and autonomy. This study calls for immediate paradigm shift not as an occupational but as a practical-critical praxis subject matter for family revolution through home economics education.
Our medical care system is trying to diversify in order to meet the client's needs, and to adjust to a medical environment which is changing very rapidly. Because current nursing theory and practice focus on holistic care, health care management, education, and research, contrary to the traditional emphasis on only assisting a physician, more autonomy and specialization for the implementation of nursing are required. Considering these trends and actual needs, the category of clinical nurse specialist should be established as soon as possible. In order to develop strategies for implementing this new professional specialty, the authors conducted a field survey and literature review of the current system in Korea. As a result, various obstacles and constraints were discovered as follows : 1) There are few accredited educational programs for the training of CNS's. 2) Several hospitals already have staff designated as clinical nurse specialist (CNS) even though the term CNS is not yet standardized or adopted in nationwide. 3) The role of the CNS is not clearly understood by the medical societies, or even nursing societies. A nurse who works in specific nursing areas such as central supply, kidney dialysis, intensive care, coronary care, etc. for a long time, considers herself /himself a CNS. Based upon the above findings, the following alternatives are recommended. 1) The role of the CNS should be defined according to specified functions and authority : professional autonomy ; counselling and educating patients and their familes, nurses, and even other medical personnel ; research on improvement of nursing ; and management of the nursing environment including medical resources, information, and cases. 2) the qualification of CNS should be attained only by a nurse who has an RN license and clinical experience of more than 3 years in a specific nursing field: passes a qualifying examination; and contributes to the professional development of peers, colleagues, and others. A master's degree should only be optional, because of the insufficient of graduate programs which are well designed for the CNS. 3) The CNS should initially be a head nurse rather than line staff in order to deal with as wide an experience base as possible. 4) The nursing specialty could be divided into two areas such as a clinical field and a community field. The clinical field could then be categorized by the Styles' classification such as diseases and pathogenics, systems, ages, acuity, skills/techniques, and function/role ; the community field could be classified according to work site.

As a result, on the visual aspects of the user experience based on the design that can be used to know, and be sound or through interaction with the user of the machine-to-machine interaction (and interaction) that must be provided, such as location-based or speech recognition technology will help you through the convenience of the user. Through this research, the smart environment and helping act of understanding, effective UXD (User eXperience Design) to take advantage of to help.
The reasons of traffic accidents can be classified into the vehicle, road environment and human factors. In development of vehicle and road technologies, the human factor is the most important. The emotion research recently carried out showed that emotions play an important role in human judgment and decision making. They are also expected to partly determine driving behavior. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of drivers' emotions on their driving behavior. The results of this study showed that positive emotions do not affect driving behavior. As for negative emotions, however, safe driving(SD) and comfort driving(CD) factors have a negative correlation, and violence driving(VD) and regulation violation(RO) factors have a positive correlation. This study is significant as a basic study for establishing and determining a policy for reducing traffic accidents and for educating drivers.

Objectives: Adolescent suicide, a major cause of adolescent death, is affected by various factors, including attitudes toward suicide. This study investigated the association between parenting style and adolescents' attitudes toward suicide and the mediating role of attitude toward suicide between parenting style and suicidal ideation. Methods: We surveyed 1,071 adolescents from eight middle schools in Incheon, Korea. The survey included sociodemographic information, attitudes toward suicide, perception of parenting style, depression severity, and suicidality. Results: Students in the authoritarian parenting group had a more permissive attitude toward suicide compared with the democratic and permissive parenting groups. These students considered that suicide is justified in certain situations and that choosing suicide is an individual's right. They also had a negative attitude toward talking about suicide or intervening in others' suicide. This association remained statistically significant after adjusting for the impact of confounding factors that could affect attitudes toward suicide, except for suicidal processes and preparedness to prevent suicide. In the mediation analysis, we observed that some factors of the attitudes toward suicide mediated between authoritarian parenting attitudes and suicidal ideation, namely, suicide as a right, preventability, suicide as normal/common, preparedness to prevent suicide, and resignation. Conclusion: This study revealed the significant impact of parenting style on children's attitudes toward suicide. Educating parents about the appropriate parenting attitudes-sympathetic and rational-can help prevent youth suicide.
This study is about Le Corbusier's early years of loarning and training at La Chaux-de-Fonds. It is an attempt to show how Le Corbusier's groundwork was laid which characterize his work throughout the life. Charles Edouard Jeanneret was trained as a watch engraver and wished to be a painter. C. L'Eplattenier was to play a decisive role in shaping the young introspective boy's future. He encouraged Jeanneret's habit of the close study and observation of nature. Jeanneret was not the product of an established school, but instead made the unusual choice of educating himself. He found two indispensible sources of inspiration in study the past and in contemplating nature. His four years of self-education consisted of extensive reading, summer travels and winter layovers in larger cities-Vienna, Paris, Berlin-while sketching in museums or apprenticing local architects-Pellet, Behrens-. All these impressions then blended together to become part of a comprehensive source book of knowledge and imagination of the later Le Corbusier. A largely self-taught man, he never stopped making notes, drawing and writing, always aspiring to a clearer understanding of the meaning and underlying principles of objects and architecture. Jeanneret's five villas in La Chaux-de-Fonds are barometers which show the sequences of his development and change as an architect. In 1917, being thirty, he uprooted himself from his hometown to get a wider range of opportunities and moved to Paris. By that time Jeanneret was almost ready to blossom into Le Corbusier It was during this formative years of his life that Le Corbusier established the working method, mind-set and philosophical basis that determined the course of an architect in the making.
The main Purpose of this survey was to identify for elements of an effective hospital infection control program for Korea. Nurses and doctors who had participated in an education program for infection control or were re s ponsible for hospital infection control were selected as data informers. The data were collected from 51 subjects by employing a Delphi technique in a series of three rounds from september 1, 1987, to March 31, 1988. IN each round the responses to questionaires were analyzed and the results were communicated back to the individuals. Finally 32 elements of effective hospital infection control program were reduced to 10 elements. 10 elements are as follows ; 1) Hospital administrator's knowledge of importance and necessity for HIC(hospital infection control) 2) Supporting HIC administratively 3) Constituting infection control committee and role of ICC 4) Developing an eductional program and providing a work manual for the hospital infection control staff 5) Educating and informing medical staff about hospital infection 6) Surveillance for hospital infection 7) Developing patient care technique 8) Controlling the hospital environment 9) Executing regular health examination of all medical staff 10) Recruiting the medical staff sufficiently Three rankings of response rate about 32 elements are as follows ; 1) Hiring a full tim staff member for the HIC(66%) 2) Establishing a hospital policy and standards for the HIC(66%) 3) Activating the infection control committee and taking administrative action to support the ICC(63%) In addition the rankings of importance score by Likert 5 scale are as follows ; 1) Washing hands scrupulously(4.88) 2) Nurses participation as key members of the ICC(4.75) 3) Reviewing and evaluating all ongoing aseptic techniques (4.69) In conclusion, first of all, administrative support must be given to hiring a full time staff member and to organization of infection control committee for the HIC in Korea.

Most human behaviors are based on self-perceptual image. Subjectivity in professional nursing image is shown in their opinions, beliefs, values, and attitudes of professional nursing and it helps to understand individual's behavior. This study was initiated to find the characteristics and patterns in subjectivity of hospital nurses' professional nursing image. The Data were collected from Apr. 20 to Aug. 22, 1996. The research method employed Q-methodology which is based on self-psychology and abductive logics. Analysis of Q-type obtained by QUANL pc program. The characteristics of professional nursing image was analyzed based on the typal array, extreme comments, and the subject's demographic information. The results revealed that there are three different types on the professional nursing image. The three types were named as follows : The first type, the Improvable, consisting of 6 subjects, preferentially perceived nursing is human behavior as life process, coordinating with other health personnel for the patients as nurses' important role. On the other hand, they are taking a little dissatisfied view of professional nursing image, which can be estimated to advance for the construction of the professional nursing image. The second type, the Self-conflicted, consisting of 13 subjects, who have the subjectivity of the image by focusing on external and environmental factors rather than developing positive individual nurses' image for their profession. They have very conflic-ting and self-degrading traits. The third type, the Affirmative, consisting of 10 subjects, who appreciate the essence of nursing, and that they highly perceived nurse' positive attitude, devotion, mature interrelationship and self-developing efforts etc. In conclusion, this study discovers three types on the professional nursing image and their relationship. By identifying the nature of three types, this study suggests that the results should be useful reinforcement tool in educating nursing students as well as in continuing education for hospital nurses.
