"East and West Medicine Research Society Monthly View" was published 7 times to revive and develope the Eastern medicine that was in downward trend with an "review the old and learn the new" attitude to unite the East and West medicine. This magazine was lead by the East and West Medicine Research Society and therefore an academic magazine. Its contents mostly consist of lecture type serials. This is because the purpose of the magazine was to reeducate physicians of the Chinese school or to educate the people who had purpose on medicine. The contents of "East and West Medicine Research Society Monthly View" has many serials on various subjects such as Eastern Medicine, Western Medicine, East and West Medicine, and SaSang medicine. Puting in articles about hygiene to put in many writings about living health shows the effort in trying to treat epidemics with Korean Medicine.

The purpose of this study was to gain a suggestion how to educate pre-service elementary teachers in science education. One hundred and twenty three students were involved in the questionnaire to investigate the perception of science. Many of pre-service elementary teachers had a negative image of science. They consider science to be stiff, inflexible and dull. They suggested much more of foreign scientists than Korean ones as respectable scientists. They are very interested in science related to society, and themselves. It is necessary for elementary pre-service teachers to be educated to positively improve the images of science and scientist, and to understand modern scientific philosophical perspectives. And, Korean scientific history education should be educated formally or informally for them to count on about Korean scientists as respectable ones in science education.

The concurrent engineering technologies have been broadly used in the field of the design, testing, manufacturing and maintenance works to reduce development time and costs. For this purpose, many design environments with the product data management system, the virtual engineering system and web database system are developed. In this research, we developed the driving simulator of the KTX(Korea Train Express) as a basic study for building the concurrent engineering design environment of rolling stock. The virtual track was developed from the Seoul to the Busan and the Daejeon to Mockpo to generate immersible driving environment. Also. fault generation systems were developed to educate drivers of the KTX. We expect to reduce the time and costs of newly developed rolling stock using the design environment developed in the research.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between weights of backpack and back and shoulder pains of elementary school students in Korea. A cross-sectional sample of 278 boys and 233 girls aged between 7 and 12 years were analyzed for this study. 49.1% of the participated children reported their backpacks were felt heavy, and the weights of their backpack were grater than 13.3% of their body weight. About 65.4% of students carried greater than 10% of their body weights. The weight of the backpack showed significant positive relationship with shoulder pain but not with their back pain. The results of this study suggested that overweighed backpack could cause the musculoskeletal pain to the elementary school students. Therefore, an effective backpack safety program for parents and students is necessary to educate them how to prevent possible musculosketal pain related to the weight of backpack within the perspective of the ergonomical approach.

We also describe three techniques and experiments that can be used to implement the optical network chip.

In the 21st century, we need to educate students who can perform their learning activity by themselves through free investigation and gathering information instead of providing a piece of knowledge to them directly. It is suggested that we should use Internet to bring up students who have the ability to study self-directedly. In this study, we designed a virtual English conversation class and implemented it using Web and DBMS to improve the students' self-directed learning ability who study English conversation in high school.
