원형제트출구 전단류 조절에 따른 제트충돌면에서의 열전달 특성 (Heat Transfer Characteristics on Impingement Surface with Control of Axisymmetric Jet(I))

  • The present experiment is conducted to investigate heat transfer characteristics on the impinging surface with secondary flows around circular nozzle jets. The changed vortex pattern around jet affects significantly the flow characteristics and heat transfer coefficients on the impinging surface. The effects of the jet vortex control are also considered with jet nozzle-to-plate distances and main jet velocities. The vortex pattern around a jet is changed from a convective instability to an absolute instability with a velocity suction ratio of the main jet and the secondary counterflow. With the absolute instability condition, the jet potential core length increases and the heat transfer on the impinging surface is increased by small scale eddies. The region of high heat transfer coefficients is enlarged with the high Reynolds number due to increasing secondary peak values. The effect of suction flows is influenced largely with collars attached the exit of the jet nozzle because the attached collar guides well the counterflow around the main jet.

정방형 벨트구동 캐비티의 흐름특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Flow Characteristics of Lid-Driven Square Cavity)

  • Time-dependent Flow characteristics of a two-dimensional lid-driven square cavity flow of six high Reynolds numbers, $10^4 2{\times}lO^4., 3{\times}l0^4, 5{\times}lO^4, 7.5{\times}lO^4$ and $10^5$ were investigated. A convection conservative difference scheme based upon SOLA to maintain the nearly 2nd-order spatial accuracy was adopted on irregular grid formation. Irregular grid number is $80{\times}80$ and its minimum size is about 1/400 of the cavity height(H) and its maximum is about 1/53 H. The result shows that at Re= $10^4$, periodic migration of small eddies appearing in corner separation region and its temporal sinusoidal fluctuation are represented. And another critical Reynolds number which shows the commencement of flow randomness emerging from the periodic fluctuation is assumed to be around Re= $1.5{\times}10$. At five higher Reynolds numbers ($2{\times}lO^4., 3{\times}l0^4, 5{\times}lO^4, 7.5{\times}lO^4$ and $10^5$), an organizing structure of four consecutive vortices similar to a Moffat vortex at two lower corners is revealed from time-mean flow patterns.

  • LNG Carriers are currently known as sole commercial means of shipping natural gas on the sea. They are designed to proven dangerous explosion for shipping a lot of gas over long distance. In this study. In this study, a scaled model chamber was made to investigate ventilation characteristics of the hood room in LNG carrier. Experimental study was performed in model using visualization equipments with laser apparatus and image intensifier CCD camera gated by an AOM controller Twelve different kinds of measuring area were selected as experimental condition. Instant simultaneous velocity vectors at whole field were measured by using 2-D PIV system which software adopts two-frame grey-level cross correlation algorithm. To look into stagnation area of hood room for LNG carrier, a three-dimensional numerical simulation with standard ${\kappa}-{\varepsilon}$ model was carried out by using PHOENICS for three kinds of Reynolds number, $6.5{\times}10^3$, $9.7{\times}10^3\;and\;1.29{\times}10^4$, based on the cavity inlet velocity and cavity height. The flow pattern showed the large scale counter-clockwise forced-vortex rotated at center area, small eddies at each corner and stagnation area located at left-back upper side of model.

어족의 소상을 위한 계단식어도 수리특성에 관한 연구 (Study on Hydraulic Characteristis for Upstream Migration of Fish in a Pool-and-Weir Fishway)

  • 본 연구에서는 단계식어도 내의 격벽 형상, 잠공설치, 측벽 홈설치 등에 따른 수리현상을 수리시험을 통해 규명하고 어족의 소상에 적합한 적정 구조물 형상을 제시함으로써 어도 구조물 설계에 지침이 되도록 하였다. 분석 결과 어족의 소상은 표면류 상태가 바람직하며, 잠공설치는 어족 소상을 방해하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 측벽에 설치된 홈을 돌출부로 대치함으로써 격벽 월류 유속을 줄이고 소상을 용이하도록 했으며, 퇴적된 토사를 제거하기 위해 고정식 격벽보다는 상·하 2단식 수직이동 격벽을 설치하며, 새들에 의한 어족의 피해를 고려하여 그물망을 설치하고, 어도 바닥의 색깔을 통과 어족의 색깔과 같이 함으로써 보호색 기능을 갖추는 것이 바람직한 것으로 판명되었다.

  • 복도나 터널과 같이 특정한 방향성을 가지는 공간에서는 천장아래에 형성되는 연기선단의 성상해석이 학술적인 면에서나 실용적인 면에서도 매우 중요하다. 본 연구는 2차원 축대칭 천장제트 선단의 전파속도를 모델화하기 위하여 상사해석 및 차원해석을 수행하였다. 실험에서는 질소와 헬륨의 혼합가스를 원형 천장에 노즐로 분출시켜 화재로 인한 연기를 구현하였으며 속도측정을 위하여 레이저와 고속카메라를 이용한 가시화 기법이 사용되었다.

Some features of Korean Seas observed by ADEOS/OCTS

  • The chlorophyll-a concentration measured by OCTS could be used for observing the physical phenomena such as eddies, fronts, and up welling in the oceans as well as for studying the ecology of phytoplankton. In this study, biological and physical features in the East Sea/Japan Sea (the East Sea) and the Yellow Sea observed by OCTS are analyzed in comparison with other satellite data. And in situ chlorophyll data were compared with OCTS Level 2 chlorophyll data. There was a striking correspondence between the satellite chlorophyll structure and other satellite data in the East Sea in the spring. Very complicated ring structures in the 557 are reflected in chlorophyll structure. In the Yellow Sea, the surface structure was rather simple. While the discrepancies between in situ and OCTS algorithm version 3 chlorophyll were small in the East Sea, those for the Yellow Sea were rather big. Comparison with CZCS data for similar time of the year (May-June) shows that OCTS chlorophyll is higher in general. Although the error is partly due to the fact that NASDA chlorophyll algorithm is an empirical algorithm for case 1 water, how much of this error is also due to the errors in sensor calibration or in atmospheric correction is not clear.

해양에서의 염료 플럼의 사행에 대한 모델 (A Diagnostic Model for Dye Plume Meandering in Oceanic Waters)

  • 본 연구는 해양에서의 염료 플럼축의 사행에 관한 것이다. 농도 확산장에서의 이러한 과정은 산단 염료 확산장의 무게 중심의 분석에 대하여 속도장의 여러 주기 성분이 원점으로부터의 거리의 함수로서 차별적으로 기여하기 때문에 일어나는 것으로 이해된다. 제시된 진단 모델은 과동장을 보여줄 뿐만 아니라 플럼축이 증폭되어 사행하는 현상까지도 설명할 수 있다. 염표 플럼의 항공사진을 이용한 자료로부터 사행 과동의 파장을 추정한 바 연안 표층수에서 5.5에서 60.3 미터까지 분포하였다. 또한 수치 시뮬레이션을 통하여 사행 플럼 농도장을 예측하였다.

  • 최근의 실험 결과에 의하면 하이브리드 로켓 연료의 표면에 연소가 진행되지 않은 채 남아있는 점들이 존재함을 확인하였다. 이러한 불규칙적인 spot은 연료의 기화로 인한 분출유동(blowing effect)과 산화제의 유동 사이에서 발생하는 교란에 의한 현상인 것으로 여겨진다. 본 연구에서는 LES를 이용하여 분출이 있을 때 channel 유동을 해석함으로써 연료 표면으로 전달되는 열전달 특성을 해석하였다. 비록 원형 그레인이 아니며 화학반응을 무시하고 열전달을 계사하였으나 근본적으로 연료 표면에서 발생하는 불규칙한 spot의 발생은 작은 크기의 난류 eddy의 존재 때문인 것으로 판단된다.

A Circulation Study of the East Sea Using Satellite-Tracked Drifters 1 : Tsushima Current

  • Satellite-tracked drifters deployed in the East Sea since 1991 are used to study the Tsushima Current (TC). It is found that the TC is a steady current with a mean speed of 10 cm/s before it enters the East Sea. Only during the summer, the TC flows along Honshu Island with a mean speed of $30\~40\;cm/s$ and then exits through the Tsugaru Strait. In fall and winter, the TC does not follow the coast along Honshu Island but it enters into the interior of the East Sea before it reaches the Tsugaru Strait. The water that passes the West Channel of the Korea Strait mostly comes from the western East China Sea and spreads into the interior of the East Sea. It also forms the large eddies in the southern East Sea. The outflow through the Tsugaru Strait comes from the interior of the East Sea in all seasons except summer. The mean speed of the Tsugaru Strait outflow is about 60 cm/s. The largest current variability is found in the eastern central area of the East Sea, south of sub-polar front.

충돌제트계에서 사다리형 로드 배열에 의한 열전달 및 유동특성 (Heat Transfer and Flow Characteristics by Trapezoid Rod Array in Impinging Jet System)

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the characteristics of jet flow and heat transfer caused by trapezoid rods array in impinging jet system. In this study, trapezoid rods have been set up in front of flat plate to serve as a turbulence promoter. The bottom width of trapezoid rod was W=4, 8 mm and oblique angle were 80$^{\circ}$. The space from rods to the heating surface was C=1, 2, 4 mm, the pitch between each rods was P=30, 40, 50 mm, and the distance from nozzle exit to flat plate was H=100, 500 mm. This results were compared with the case without trapezoid rods. As a result, when rods are installed in front of the impinging plate, the acceleration of the jet flow and the eddies due to the rods seem to contribute to the heat transfer enhancement. Among test conditions, the heat transfer performance was best for the condition of W=8 mm, C=1 mm, P=30 mm and H/B=10. The maximum heat transfer rate is about 1.9 times larger than that without trapezoid rods.
