In order to utilize the data obtained during the deep-sea resources exploration program, the analysis of data structure and database were conducted to develop an appropriate data operating system called Deep-sea Database System. The Relation Data Base Management System, RDBMS, was chosen as a data managing system and the MS Access$^{TM}$ as a DB engine, and the MapInfo$^{TM}$ software as GIS tools. Problems in networking and security were detected and solved during the operation test. Accordingly, development of standardized operative procedure was proposed in obtaining raw data. This proposal will also be reflected in the subsequent phase of the deep-sea program. The Deep-sea Database System could be applied to the selection of potential mining sites and the estimation of economical efficiency over th KODOS (Korea Deep Ocean Study) region. It is also expected that this system might improve the efficiency of detail survey and help in the relinquishment process as a fulfillment of the obligation as a pioneer investor.

Dongrae is one of the most famous hot spring resort area in the Republic of Korea. The water temperature ranges $50^{\circ}C{\sim}66$. The chemical composition of the thermal water is quite different from normal groundwater. $Na^+$ and $Cl^-$ are the main components, measured more than 75%, $Ca^{+{+}}$ is contained about 22% and the other ions such as $SO_4$ or $HCO_3$ are the minor components. The heat source is uprising along the fracture zone of granite which is indicated as a subsurface high temperature belt. During the research period of 1991~1992, the groundwater table was lowered down to the depth of about 100 m according to continuous increase of daily use of thermal water. The groundwater table was fluctuated with an amplitude of day, weak or seasion. The groundwater table was the lowest at 18:00 h in a day and also lowest at the weekend for the week period. There was a relavent relationship between drawdown and the amount of thermal water use on a long term base. To protect such a rapid drawdown of groundwater table, Dongrae resort area is now asked to take strong municipal control for the daily use of thermal water.

The paper is to estimate the economic value of ecotourism in Anmyeondo tidal wetlands using a double-bounded dichotomous choice (DBDC) model of the Contingent Valuation Method (CVM). For the reliability and the validity of CVM a survey was conducted for 511 visitors by personal interview method in Anmyeondo during August 2000, and respondents were asked for maximum Willingness-To-Pay (WTP) to buy a ticket fer the tidal flat's ecotourism. Overall, respondents answered that they would be willing to pay 55,879 won for a ticket under the study. All equations and results estimated are statistically significant at the 1% or 5% level. For the aggregation of WTP estimates, the sample values are extended to the total annual number of visitors in Anmyeondo area during 1998. A conservative estimate, which considers the calibration factor (0.5) recommended by NOAA (1994) and a positive response rate (83.17%), is 73 billion won.

본 논문에서는 시장전환 메커니즘을 활용하여 심야전력제도의 개선 방안을 새롭게 제안하였다. 심야전력 창출을 위해 도입된 심야전력제도는 현재 국가적으로 경제적 손실의 가중과 에너지 시장의 왜곡을 확대하는 결과를 가져오고 있다. 이에 따라 본 논문에서는 심야전력제도와 관련된 모든 이해당사자의 경제적 비용편익 분석을 통해 국가적으로 가장 비용 효과적이며 효율적인 시장전환 방안을 제시하였으며, 이를 위해 요금제도의 정상화를 위해 수년간 요금인상 후 심야전력제도를 폐지하는 방안을 제시하였으며, 심야전력 소비자와 사업자의 보호를 위해 복수의 수명방안에 대한 보상방안을 분석하였다.

본 연구는 세계화와 지식기반경제로의 이행이 심화되면서 국가 간 및 지역 간 글로벌 인재 유치를 위한 경쟁이 심화되는 현상에 주목한다. 글로벌 스케일에서 인재의 분포와 공간적 변동을 고찰하여 인재의 글로벌 지리를 고찰하였다. 또한 글로벌 인재 유치를 위한 국가별 전략도 고찰하여 주요 시책과 메커니즘을 분석하였다. 끝으로 본 논문은 글로벌 경쟁력 제고를 위한 우리나라 대도시권의 발전전략에서 인재의 중요성을 간과하고 있다는 한계를 지적하고, 이를 극복할 수 있는 장소의 질 제고의 중요성을 강조하는 전략을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this research is to implement and develop the Economic Cost Driver Size(ECDS) extended model to determine the optimal cash driver size with measurement complexity cost and allocation fail cost. ECDS model can be used to seek both measurement accuracy and time efficiency of the Activity-Base Costing (ABC). The study also develops Activity Priority Number (APN) to evaluate the importance of nonvalue-added activities improvement and to determine the representative cost driver of value-added activities when applying ECDS model. APN consists of Severity Priority Number (SPN), Undetectablitiy Priority Number (UPN) and Occurrence Priority Number (OPN). APN can be obtained from lower-stream activity, current activity, upper-stream activity in terms of hierarchical dependency of SIPOC (Supplier, Input, Process, Output, and Customer). In order to seek both efficiency of invested capital and reduction of overhead cost, the paper proposes the integrated ABC and Economic Value Added (EVA) model using redesigned ABC-based statement of comprehensive income and EVA-based statement of financial position. For a better understanding of the proposed ABC-EVA integrated model, numerical examples are demonstrated in this paper. Cost drivers of ABC and capital drivers of EVA in the proposed model can be used to reduce activity overhead cost from ABC-based statement of comprehensive income and to lessen activity capital charge from EVA-based statement of financial position.

Recent trends in globalization and informatization underscore the importance of logistics. As a result, there is a need for skilled and specialized logisticians. Third Party Logistics (TPL) and Supply Chain Management (SCM) require logisticians with a broad base of knowledge in areas such as multimodal transport, international trade, information technology computers, finance, operations management, etc. This study conducted a survey to find out the opinions of demanders and suppliers. The results of the surrey show that there are more skilled logisticians in the field of management, computer works in manager level and system management. The survey also found that the certificate exam, which the Ministry of Construction and Transportation started in 1997 as the "Certified Logistics Manager" exam, should have more questions in areas such as foreign languages, computers, logistics information, management skills, etc. To produce better logisticians in Korea, the government will have to invest more into their education, especially near the major ports and metropolitan areas. In addition, it is important that universities and companies work together to provide students with internship and other field-experience teaming opportunities. Logistics education centers should be built at the national level. In addition, the existing certification should be divided into two separate certifications: one for ordinary logistics, and one for international logistics. To further improve the certification system, short-answer or essay questions should be added to the second exam, and an additional certification for the highest level logisticians, a so-called "professional logisticians certificate," needs to be introduced.ntroduced.

The government of Busan Metropolitan City conducted the "Survey on Shipping and Port Logistics Companies in Busan" between May and December, 2000. This was the first comprehensive survey of Busan Port conducted from the perspective of regional & industrial economics. The objective of the survey was to find out the level of influence of the shipping and port logistics industry on the regional economy of Busan, and to obtain base data for use in establishing an actual promotion program. The survey acquired information about human and physical resources, management conditions and consciousness of the industry, In addition, the study analyzed the survey data. The results of the analysis showed a method of creating added value in support of the marketing activities of the companies, and indicated methods of achieving systematic and sustainable promotion. The government of Busan City shall develop an e-Logistics infrastructure which can deliver a synopsis and intelligent information to people and companies in the industry by the end of this year. The information system would be of great help for people who may not be familiar with Busan's port and shipping industry, particularly international shipping companies. This will result in an Increase of trade and exchange in the shipping and port logistics industry, resulting in the generation of increased added value within the near future.

As quality of life improves recently, people began to pay more attention to outdoor environment and outdoor activities. In case of the U.S.A., community garden is utilized as space for plant cultivation and horticulture activities and the space is also used for complex activities such as education, play, leisure and rest. At the same time, such diverse activities are linked with creating social and economic wealth, thus creating sustainable values in the community. This study targets to identify the social and economic effects of community garden. For this purpose, the study analyzes the detailed cases of community gardens in the U.S. and analyzed the contents of the study based on the theory of social capital. In case of Korea, community gardens are operated in the form of urbane farming and parks in most cases but it is desirable in terms of contribution to the community and sustainability to manage the community gardens with space characteristics and programs that set up communities by gathering many residents in the community. It is necessary to approach the matter of community garden comprehensively and to set up comprehensive and complex plans to form community gardens. This study is expected to function as an important base for such purpose.

1990년대 들어 정보통신산업을 중심으로 기술혁신이 급속히 진행되면서 고정가중법에 의한 실질 GDP 통계의 현실반영도가 저하됨에 따라 연쇄가중법의 도입 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 연쇄가중법의 도입은 전기비 성장률의 작성 기준이 되는 계절조정계열산출에도 영향을 미치게 되며 특히 연간법, 특정분기법, 전년 동분기법 등 분기 연환지수의 연결방식에 따라 시계열의 계절패턴이 달라질 수 있어 이를 적절히 반영할 수 있는 계절조정방법을 필요로 한다. 또한 연쇄계절조정계열은 연쇄가중법 적용 후 사후적으로 계절조정을 실시하는지 아니면 계절조정계열을 대상으로 연쇄가중법을 적용하는지 등 적용순서에 따라 산출 결과에 차이가 발생할 수 있다. 국민소득통계를 이용한 시산결과 우리나라에서는 연간법에 의해 분기 연쇄지수를 산출하고 사후적으로 계절조정을 실시하는 것이 가장 바람직한 것으로 평가되었다.
