본 연구는 mesocosm의 정의, 규모, 연구사례, 국내 외 연구동향, mesocosm 조성 시 일반적인 문제점, 해결방안을 거론하고, 끝으로 향후 발전방향을 제시하였다. 지면의 제약 때문에 주로 연성저질생태계(soft-bottom ecosystem)를 위한 mesocosm의 조성에 관련된 내용에 중점을 두었다. Mesocosm이란 규모적인 측면에서 "중형(1~1000 $m^3$)규모이며, 외부에서 먹이 공급 없이 스스로 유지가 가능하며, 환경의 일부 조건을 인위적으로 조절 가능한 인공생태계"를 말한다. 이러한 연구는 1960년대 중반부터 해양/담수생태계, 특히 해양식물플랑크톤이 주 연구 대상이었으나, 점차 확대되어, 최근에는 독성학, 육수학, 환경학, 환경공학, 지구화학 등 다양한 분야에서 흔히 사용하는 도구가 되었다. 과학적인 도구의 하나로서 mesocosm은 기본적으로, 1. 재현성(replicability), 2. 반복성(repeatability), 그리고 3.생태학적 현실성(ecological realism or accuracy)이 구비되어야 한다. 여기에 구체적으로 필요한 규모(scaling), 퇴적물과 해수의 조성, 광량, 난류(亂流), 물 교환율, 포식자 등 기술적인 문제에 대한 해결책을 상세히 언급하였다. Mesocosm이라는 과학적인 도구의 미래 발전 방향은 1. 다양한 통계기법을 통한 객관성의 확보, 2. 수치모델분야와 상호 보완하여 "생태계의 살아 움직이는 모델"로서 보다 더 광범위한 적용이 될 것이다. 앞으로 독성물질에 대한 생태계의 반응 및 독성물질의 거동과 지구온난화에 대한 생태계 및 지구환경의 반응 등을 예측하는데 mesocosm은 매우 유용한 도구가 될 것으로 확신한다.

This study investigated the user's attitude to the nature trail called Gubulgil in Gunsan reservoir area and evaluated the quality of user's satisfaction of the trails and their facilities by importance-performance analysis (IPA). User's evaluation was achieved through questionnaire survey and total 283 pieces of subjects were used for the analysis. The results are as follows. Firstly, importance value of circularity of trails was very high, and it has great implication to ordinary trails which connect ecological, historical and cultural spots routinely and linearly. Secondly, through the IPA, relatively dissatisfied attributes were parking lots, direction boards, storytelling, convenient facilities and encountering of wildlife. Expansion of parking lots can cause the environmental disruption, so running a shuttle service from Gunsan downtown to the reservoir at weekends can be more reasonable. In case of ecological and historical information delivery, softwares like storytelling contents with sense of realism as well as hardwares of informative signboards are very important in nature trails. Encountering wildlife in trails is fascinating experience but it means visitors may disturb wildlife habitats. So route design should be done very carefully not to intrude their territories.

Kilpatrick(1992)은 수학교육이 전통적으로 수학 학습에 대한 연구의 이론적 근거를 주로 심리학에서 찾아왔음을 지적하고 있다. (Williams et at., 2000, 재인용). 이는 기존의 수학교육 연구가 대체적으로 실증적이고 경험적인 교수공학적 측면에서 접근하여 왔음을 시사한다. Williams et al. (2000)은 최근의 수학교육 연구가 기존의 연구 틀에서 벗어나 다양한 영역으로 확장되고 있음을 지적하면서, 이를 학문으로서의 수학교육으로 특징짓고 있다. 본고는 학문으로서의 수학교육 연구라는 측면에서 현재 수학교육 연구에 이론적 틀을 제공하고 있는 체험주의의 인식론적 성격을 밝히고자 하였다. 그 결과, 체험주의가 Dewey나 Merleau-Ponty와 같은 인식론적 가정을 공유하는 철학으로서 Hamlyn의 사회적 인식론이나 사회적 구성주의에 비해 수학적 지식의 보편성을 폭넓게 인정하고 있음이 드러났다.

What is the semantic function of visual image in Contemporary art? This article proposes that representation is semantically still important in post-modernism as well as in modernism. The semantic function of representation has been changed by keeping pace with times. In modernism the 'outer representation' changed to 'inner representation', and in postmodernism the 'inner representation' changed to 'metaphorical representation'. The 'outer representation' means that image indicates a certain object or subject as the classical realism. In this case, the meaning of image is subordinate to an object, and a one-to-one correspond existed between the image and the object. Because this 'outer representation' is focused on an object but subject's intention, the indicative function of meaning is definite and singular. The 'inner representation' means that image exposes the fundamentals or process of an object. In this case, the meaning of image resolves itself into an absolute fundamental, and one-to-many correspond existed between the image and the object. Because this 'inner representation' is focused on essence and substance but an external form, the indicative function of meaning is inclusive and general. The 'metaphorical representation' means that image critically relates social constraint and condition as metaphor and allegory. In this case, the meaning of image is not subordinate to an object and a subject, and the image and the object indicate interactively. Because this 'metaphorical representation' is focused on interaction between subject, object, and interpreter, the indicative function of meaning is differant and ecological. This article focused on the representation because I believe that continuous thinking of totality can be opened by cognitive mapping, even though we never understand the world totally in the chaotic post modern age.
