This study analyzes the potential demand for automobiles based on fuel type using survey data in Korea. The dependent variable of the model is the future desired fuel type, including gasoline, diesel, hybrid, electricity, and hydrogen. The main explanatory variables are the respondent demographic characteristics, key reasons for choosing vehicle fuel type and environmental awareness extracted via principal component analysis (PCA). Using a multinomial logit (MNL) model, we find that respondents who consider fuel economy and infrastructure increase the demand for a hybrid car but decrease the demand for electric and hydrogen vehicles. The denial-types increase the demand for gasoline (petrol) and diesel (light oil), and decrease the demand for electric vehicles. The anxiety-types increase the demand of hybrid vehicles, and decrease the demand for electric vehicles. In contrast, in the case of pro-types, the demand for diesel (light oil) hydrogen vehicles decreased.

Recently, e-scooters have been attracting attention as eco-friendly modes of transportation in cities due to an increasing interest in the environment. Accordingly, various studies on usage behavior are being conducted, but studies that reflect individual travel attitudes are insufficient. Therefore, this study surveyed commuters in Seoul and analyzed respondents' traveling attitudes through factor analysis. It also built a binary logistic regression model for the intention to use shared e-scooters to determine how individual travel behaviors are affected. In particular, the model results showed that age, the main mode of transportation (car), walking time to the bus stop, and four travel attitude variables (disutility of travel, preference to self-drive, internet/smartphone friendliness, and willingness to pay extra money for services) significantly affected the intention to use shared e-scooters. This study is expected to be used as basic data, with aspect to travel behavior, for the efficient operation and use of shared e-scooters in the future.

Global auto parts companies are making efforts to develop EWP(: Electric Water Pump) which is one of the core parts of environment friendly car. In eco-friendly automobiles, an independent cooling system is used rather than a cooling system that is linked to an internal combustion engine. Therefore, the research and development of the water pump operating separately from the engine and the related production system are being actively carried out. In order to overcome the shortcoming of EWP of PPS material suitable for injection system, G company which is a global parts company that researches and develops EWP around SUS and is in the process of developing robot-based production equipment for mass production. In this paper, a heat shock simulation system is designed and implemented that works with the robot-based production system to test the performance of the produced EWP. By using this system, it is possible to test the EWP in an virtual environment similar to the actual environment, thereby reducing the defect rate of the product. At the same time, all the data produced during the entire process for testing can be stored, which can be utilized in the future development of CPS(: Cyber Physical System) of EWP system based on big data.

Previous management for speed in road traffic system was aimed only to the improvement of mobility and safety. However, consideration for the aspect of environment and energy consumption efficiency was valued less than the former ones. Nevertheless, economical damage scope caused by climate change has been increasing and it is estimated that environmental value will be increased because of the change of external circumstances. In addition, policy for reducing carbon emission in transportation system was assessed as insufficient in improving the condition of traffic road since it only focused on the transition of private vehicle into public transportation and development of eco-friendly car. Now it is the time to prepare for the adaptation strategy and precaution for the increased number of private vehicle in Korea. For this, paradigm shift in traffic operation which includes the policy not only about the mobility but also about caring environment would be needed. It is needed to be able to monitor the actual amount of greenhouse gas in real time to reduce the amount of emitted greenhouse gas in the aspect of traffic management. In this research, a methodology which can build on-line greenhouse gas emission monitoring system by using real time traffic data and predicting the circumstance in next 5 minutes was suggested.

Korea faces major changes in energy policy, which include eco-friendly and zero-nuclear power. On the other hand, there are very few policies for the waste-management of mid- to large-sized lithium-ion batteries, such as electric car batteries and energy storage systems, which are expected to increase explosively due to such energy policy changes. Therefore, this study estimated the amount of mid- to large-sized lithium ion batteries waste and performed economics analysis of a middle and large sized secondary battery recycling project. Based on the results, a policy alternative for the revitalization of the related lithium-ion battery recycling industry is suggested. As a result, the B / C ratio of a domestic mid - to large - sized lithium ion battery recycling project is 1.06, in which the benefit is higher than the cost, so the business is economic feasible. Although the recycling project's economic efficiency is high, the recycling industry has not been activated in Korea because the domestic demand for rechargeable batteries recycling is very low. To solve this problem, this study proposes a plan to activate the industry by adding lithium secondary batteries to the EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) items.
E-TPE (Engineering Thermoplastic Polyether Ester) was Ester Elastomer with functional groups as recycling and fast processability. In addition, if the car's lightweight enough to highlight eco-friendly materials that help to improve fuel economy has become. Have all the attributes of the rubber and engineering plastics E-TPE the available temperature area is spacious, heat resistance and oil resistance is excellent but getting attention as a new material in the field of auto parts in the field of electrical and electronic domestic depends entirely on imports by the lack of core technology and has been research and development is urgently needed. In this study, the hard segments, polyester (TPEE) as the base soft elastomers of the segments Ethylen-prophylene-Copolymer and CSM (Choloro sulphonated polyethylene Rubber), VAMAC (Ethylene Acrylic Rubber), NBR (Acrylonitrin Butadiene Rubber), 1, 3-Phenylene-bisoxazoline is dealing with Dynamic Vulcanized by content and added rubber properties, thermal variation observed. As a result, the properties of the dynamic vulcanization with NBR compared to other rubber heat resistance and oil resistance is on the increase.

Green IT, composed term with Green and Information Technology(IT), use IT for energy savings and carbon emission reductions. Green IT went beyond the scope of greening IT, and recently it's concept is expanded as far as counterplan of climate change including greening other industries by IT. 85% of total greenhouse gas emissions from the energy sector and 20% of them comes from transport parts, so it is time to research IT for automotive industry. In this paper, we take up the knowledge based fuzzy logic to provide life cycle analysis associated with greenhouse gas emissions for industry produced warranty claims frequently such as automobile industry. We propose a analysis method of warranty claims using expert knowledge about the warranty in car exhaust systems related to greenhouse gas emissions, past test results of malfunction, analysis of past field data, and warranty data. Furthermore, we propose life knowledge-based GWS (Greenery Warranty System). We demonstrate the applicability of IT in eco-friendly automotive industry by implementing knowledge-based fuzzy logic and applying.

Electric vehicles, which are attracting attention as eco-friendly vehicles, have been increasing in number since 2011 in Korea. The purpose of this study is to analyze the efficient operation of existing charging stations and factors to consider when installing additional charging stations based on the case of Jeju Island where the electric vehicle penetration rate is high and the charging infrastructure is relatively well established. The characteristics of using electric car charging stations by region, type of facility, and time of day are analyzed. As a result of analyzing the frequency of using the charger installed in Jeju Island, the utilization of both the fast charger and the slow charger is found to be concentrated in a specific area. The usage rate of charger installed in a business facility and a public parking lot is high in both fast charger and slow charger. However, according to the usage rate by time of day, the fast charger has a high utilization rate throughout the afternoon, while the use of a slow charger is concentrated in the morning. In order to enable users to utilize the electric vehicle charging station efficiently, it is necessary to provide a publicity guide for the charging station having a low utilization rate, a notice for using the charger, and a notification of completion of charging. Considering the charging demand, the area where the charger is not yet installed should be considered as the area to install the charger, and in addition, the additional installation should be considered in the area and the facility where the amount of charge is large. Service improvement is expected to be possible by utilizing actual electric vehicle charging behavior analysis result.

To solve the limitation of traffic monitoring that occur from embedded sensor such as loop and piezo sensors, the thermal imaging camera was installed on the roadside. As the length of Class 1(passenger car) is getting longer, it is becoming difficult to classify from Class 3(2-axle truck) by using an embedded sensor. The collected images were labeled to generate training data. A total of 17,536 vehicle images (640x480 pixels) training data were produced. CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) was used to achieve vehicle classification based on thermal image. Based on the limited data volume and quality, a classification accuracy of 97.7% was achieved. It shows the possibility of traffic monitoring system based on AI. If more learning data is collected in the future, 12-class classification will be possible. Also, AI-based traffic monitoring will be able to classify not only 12-class, but also new various class such as eco-friendly vehicles, vehicle in violation, motorcycles, etc. Which can be used as statistical data for national policy, research, and industry.
This research work is to suggest the experimental results capable of solving an initial unsuitability of combustion and environment in a constant volume combustion chamber by using LFG(Land Fill Gas) which consists of 40% CO2 and 60% CH4. The experimental condition is set as 0.9~1.6 of air-fuel ratio, 3bar of combustion pressure, 25℃ of room temperature, methane for using gas, and 2.5~4.5 of Pre-chamber hole sizes. As a result, it can be seen that diffusion of initial flame is significantly increased by M3.0 model comparing with other one. The reason for the characteristics is that orifice effect is extremely improved by 0.9, 1.0, and 1.2 of air-fuel ratio comparing with other one. Consequently, this experiment is shown that M3.0 model is partially capable of improving combustion performance than a conventional ignition plug in case of applying to LFG with Pre-chamber design.
