국민학교 교사들의 영양지식과 식습관 및 영양태도에 관한 조사연구 (A Study on the Nutritional Knowledge, Eating Habits and Nutritional Attitudes of Elementary School Teachers)

  • This study was designed to observe the degree of nutritional knowledge, eating habits and nutritional attitudes of elementary school teachers in Seoul. Two hundred seventy eight teachers were examined on questionnaire I October. 1994. The results of this study are summarized as follows. 1. 82.7% of the subjects were not experienced the nutrition education after graduated. They had information about nutrition through the newspaper and magazine and only 26.4% of the subjects reflected in their daily lives the nutrition information. 2. More than 65% of the subjects took a regular meal and above 90% of the subjects took korean food style as breakfast and dinner and 71.5% of the subjects ate mixed food such as barley or bean. 3. 693% of the subjects pointed out the problem of meal pattern such as overeating, too salty and hot, and irregular meal time. 4. The average score of their nutritional knowledge was 21.88(the highest mark was 30.00) and related to the sex, age, monthly total income, the length of career in school lunch program. 5. The average score of their eating habits was 8.65(the highest mark was 16.00) and related to the sex, the number of family, monthly total income, the length of career in school lunch program. 6. The average score of their attitude toward the nutrition was 26.83(the highest mark was 45.00) and related to the only age. 7. Nutritional knowledge had positive correlation with their eating habits and nutritional attitude. Eating habits had positive correlation with nutritional attitudes, too. In this study, the subjects was poor in nutritional knowledge, attitude and eating habits. It is necessary to develop the nutrition education program to make us recognize the importance of nutrition and health.

조현병 외래 환자에서 야간식이증후군의 유병률과 관련요인 (Prevalence and Its Correlates of Night Eating Syndrome in Schizophrenic Outpatients)

  • 연구목적 본 연구의 목적은 조현병 외래 환자를 대상으로 야간식이증후군(night eating syndrome : NES)의 유병률과 이와 관련된 임상적 요인들에 대해 살펴보는 것이다. 방 법 정신건강의학과 외래를 방문한 201명의 조현병 환자들을 14 문항의 자기보고 형식인 야간식이증후군 설문지(Night Eating Questionnaire : NEQ)로 평가하였다. 인구학적, 임상적 특징과 체 질량 지수(BMI)을 조사하였고, 주관적인 기분과 수면, 폭식과 체중 관련 삶의 질에 대해서는 각각 Beck's Depression Inventory(BDI), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI), Binge Eating Scale(BES)와 Korean version of Obesity-Related Quality of Life Scale(KOQoL)를 이용하여 평가하였다. 결 과 조현병 외래 환자에서 야간 식이 증후군의 유병률은 10.4%(201명 중 21명)이었다. NES 군과 non-NES 군간에 나이를 제외하면 인구사회학적 및 임상적 특성, BMI에서는 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. NES 군이 Non-NES 군에 비해 보다 우울했고, 수면과 폭식 양상, 체중 관련 삶의 질에 있어서 의미 있는 장애를 나타냈다. '아침 식욕부진'과 '지연된 아침식사'(NEQ에서 NES 핵심 항목 5개 중 2개)는 두 군간에 차이가 없었으나, '야간 섭식', '야간 식욕항진' 그리고 '기분/수면'은 NES 군에서 더 손상되어 있는 것으로 나타났다. 결 론 본 연구는 조현병 외래 환자를 대상으로 NES의 유병률과 관련 요인에 대해 기술한 최초의시도이다. 비록 NES와 비만과의 연관성은 밝히지 못했지만, 본 연구의 결과는 NES가 정신 건강에 부정적 영향을 준다는 사실을 보여주었다. 향후 이러한 결과를 뒷받침할 수 있는 추가 연구가 필요할 것이다.

제주지역에서 사육중인 경주 육성마의 여름철 방목행동에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Grazing Behavior of Thoroughbred Colts Grazed in Pasture at Summer Season of Jeju Island)

  • 본 연구는 2007년 6월 23일부터 6월 29일까지 제주도에 위치한 말 목장의 방목지에서 말의 연령에 따른 군별 행동양식을 알아보고자 실시하였다. 공시마는 육성마군 3세 11두, 육성마군 1세 12두를 대상으로 행동을 조사하였다. 연령에 따른 행동의 차이가 약간 나타나 육성마(1세) 군에서는 채식이 56%, 기립 23%, 횡와 10%, 보행 5%, 러닝 2.5%, 음수가 3%였다. 육성마 1세의 3두의 개체별 행동발현은 개체차이가 나타났으며 비율의 평균은 채식이 53%, 기립이 29%, 횡와 11%, 보행 5%, 음수 1%, 러닝 1%를 나타내었다. 육성마(3세) 군에서는 채식 54%, 기립 27%, 보행 13%, 러닝과 음수가 1.5%, 횡와가 1% 였다. 육성마 3세의 개체별 발현 비율 평균은 채식이 53%, 기립 32%, 보행 10%, running과 음수행동이 각각 1%였다. 본 연구는 우리나라에서 생산되는 경주마의 방목행동에 관한 최초의 연구라고 생각된다. 이 자료가 충분할 수는 없으나 이를 기반으로 경주마를 생산, 육성할 때 사양관리에 도움이 되고 앞으로 연구의 기초자료가 될 수 있을 것이라 사료된다.

비만 및 과체중 성인 여성에서 한방비만변증과 생활 습관 및 심리적 요인 간의 상관관계 (Relationship between Oriental Obesity Pattern, Life Habitual Factors and Psychological Factors in Korean Obese and Overweight Women)

  • Objectives: The aim of the study was to investigate the relationship between oriental obesity pattern, life habitual factors(eating attitude, physical activity) and psychological factors(depression, stress, self-esteem) in korean obese and overweight women. Methods: This study was performed in obese and overweight(BMI ${\geq}$ 23 kg/$m^2$) women in Korea (n=56). Simple anthropometry including weight, BMI, waist circumference, BIA(bioelectrical impedance analysis) were done. To assess psychological factors, the Rosenberg self-esteem scale (SES) questionnaire, Beck depression inventory (BDI) questionnaire and stress response inventory (SRI) questionnaire were administered. Regarding diet, Korean eating attitude test(KEAT-26) was done. International physical activity questionnaire(IPAQ) was administered for exercise and physical activity intensity and quantities. All values were verified using correlation analysis. Results: 1. The subjects had stagnation of the liver qi>food accumulation>yang deficiency>blood stasis>spleen vacuity in the order. 2. Stagnation of the liver qi score had significant relationships with self-esteem(r=-0.520, p<0.05) and depression(r=0.688, p<0.01) in stagnation of the liver qi group. There was a relationship between food accumulation score and eating attitude(r=0.784, p<0.01) in food accumulation group. 3. Lean mass had a significant relationship with self-esteem(r=0.434, p<0.05) fat mass had a significant relationship with stress (r=0.633, p<0.01) and in stagnation of the liver qi group. 4. Physical activity had significant relationships with lean mass(r=0.628, p<0.01) and with fat mass(r=-0.478, p<0.05) in group. Conclusions: This study maintained that psychological factors play major roles in obesity with symptoms of stagnation of the liver qi and life habit(dietary factors and physical activity) in food accumulation.

양극성 장애 외래환자에서 야간식이증후군의 임상적 특성 (Clinical Characteristics of Night Eating Syndrome in Outpatients with Bipolar Disorder)

  • 연구목적 이 연구의 목적은 양극성 장애로 진단받은 정신과 외래 환자에서 야간 식이습관의 임상적 특성을 조사하는데 있다. 방 법 정신건강의학과 외래를 방문한 84명의 양극성 장애 환자를 대상으로 14개 항목의 야간 식이증후군 설문지(NEQ)를 자가 보고로 실시하였다. 이들의 인구학적, 임상적 특성을 조사하고 신체 질량 지수(BMI), 주관석 기분과 수면, 폭식과 체중에 관련된 삶의 질에 대한 평가를 Beck Depression Inventory(BDI), Binge Eating Scale(BES), Korean version of Obesity-related Quality of Life scale(KOQoL), Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index(PSQI) 등을 포함한 설문을 통해 얻었다. 결 과 양극성 장애 외래 환자 중 야간 식이증후군의 유병률은 14.3%(84명 중 12명)이었다. NES와 Non-NES군 사이에서는 경제적 상태와 동반되는 내과 질환을 제외한 성별, 나이, 교육 년 수, 결혼 및 직업 상태, 흡연, 음주 등의 인구사회학적 특성에서 양군간에 유의한 차이를 보이지는 않았다. 하지만, Non-NES 군에 비해 NES군에서 폭식이 많았고 비만으로 인한 삶의 질 저하가 나타났다. 결 론 이번 연구는 야간식이를 보이는 양극성 장애 외래환자의 임상적 특성을 처음으로 기술하였다. 비록 양극성 장애 외래 환자의NES군에서 뚜렷한 상관 관계를 보이는 특성이 많지는 않았지만, 상대적으로 NES 유병률이 높은 것으로 볼 때 임상에서 양극성 장애 환자 평가 시 비만 여부에 관계 없이 NES를 염두에 두어야 할 것이다.

한국 어린이와 청소년 식생활 구조의 시간적.공간적 변화 : 1998, 2009 국민건강영양조사 자료 분석 (Change of Children's Meal Structure in Terms of Temporal and Spatial Dimensions : Analysis of the Data from the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys of 1998 and 2009)

  • This study was conducted to characterize changes in the meal structure of Korean children in terms of temporal and spatial dimensions. The data of 1,891 and 1,627 school-aged children and adolescents extracted respectively from the 1998 and 2009 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys were analyzed by gender, age group, and residential area. From 1998 to 2009, the total eating events increased from 4.3 to 4.6 (p = 0.001); the average number of meal intake decreased from 2.8 to 2.7 (p < 0.001) while that of snack intake increased from 1.5 to 1.9 (p < 0.001). The prevalence of "3 meals a day" pattern tended to decrease while that of "2 meals a day" pattern increased over the years. Especially, the "2 meals a day" pattern with "lunch + dinner" increased from 13% in 1998 to 20% in 2009. The percentage of eating breakfast or dinner at home decreased over the years. These results indicate that over the last decade, "destructuration" occurred in Korean children's meal structure in terms of temporal and spatial dimensions. Especially, such alteration was more distinctive in male than female and in the high school-aged group than the elementary or middle school-aged groups. Overall, the difference of meal structure between genders and residential areas became smaller while the difference among age groups became larger over the years.

인천광역시 노인의 식생활과 식생활 관련 인자 연구 (A study on the Food Behavior and Factors Influencing the Food Behavior of the Elderly Living in Incheon)

  • Food habit, eating-out pattern, smoking and drinking habits of 814 elderly (aged over 60) living in Incheon were surveyed by questionnaire. The ratio of the elderly who have balanced meals at moderate amount was slightly higher in urban area. Urban elderly tended to have mild foods, while rural elderly preferred hot and salty foods. Score for food habit was higher in urban elderly and there was no difference between male and female elderly. Most urban elderly had their meal at the public facilities for elderly, while most rural elderly used general restaurant and public room for elderly. Korean foods were the most favorite menu when ate out. Ratio of elderly who have difficulties in chewing was 21.2 and 39.6% for urban and rural elderly, respectively. Many elderly, especially more than 70% of female elderly, prepared the meals for themselves. Rural elderly smoked and drank more than urban elderly and male elderly did more than female elderly.

주부들의 식용유지류 이용의식 및 사용실태 (A Study on the Utilization Pattern and the Perception of Housewives about Edible Oil & Fats)

  • This study was carried out to obtain the information concerning the perception and utilization patter of the housewives about the edible oil and fats. Data were obtained through questionnaires from 442 housewives in Chonbuk area. The eating frequency of food that used oil & fat was affected by age, residing area and educational level. family's preference score of food that used oil & fats was 3.34 point in the 5 point scale. 47% of the subjects answered that the intake rate of oil & fats had more from vegetable oils than animal sauces. Most of the subjects had negative response such as increased cholesterol and body weight for psychological state after the intake of food that used oil & fats. The main reason why some housewives did not use frequently oil & fats was inconvenience of tidying up. The kinds of the oil & fat used frequently were soybean oil, sesame oil, com oil and perilla oil. The nutrition knowledge score rotated to oil & fat was 7.62 point in the 10 point scale. The eating frequency of food that used oil & fats and its preference were positively correlated. These results indicate that the housewives haute a widespread tendency to pursue a health and convenience in the utilization of edible oil & fats.

기본생계비를 위한 식품비 산정에 관한 연구 (Estimated Food Cost to Maintain Basic Living Expenditure)

  • In this study, the food cost for the urban worker's living expenses was estimated for the Korea Labor Union. The urban workers living expenses are minimum of healthy and decency level expenses with allowances for minimum quality of life. Thus, the food cost should be enough for purchasing proper kinds and amount of foods which can supply sufficient nutrient to maintain health and which should reflect current food consumption patterns. To estimate the food cost, the Korean Recommended Dietary Allowances was used to calculate the amount of nutrients which should be supplied. The National nutrition survey and the Food balance sheet, were used to estimate the current consumption patterns for the kind and amount of food. To estimate price for each food item, the market survey was executed in six large cities. Also, to verify the estimated food cost, actual food costs were surveyed. For 5 kinds of model household, dietary allowances were calculated for the each nutrient. Using the Korean food guides, the number of serving for each food group were decided for the model households. In each food group, the amount and kind of foods were decided by the current food consumption pattern. The kind and amount of food were adjusted by the amount of calculated nutrient. When the amount of nutrient was between 90% and 110% of the recommended dietary intake, it was accepted. With these amount and kinds of foods, the food cost were calculated using the market survey. Considering extra expenses for the eating-out and processed foods, extra expenses are added. As a results, for single person family, the estimated food cost was 149,210won per month. For two, three, four and five person family, the estimated food costs were 245,179won, 381,182won, 501,669won and 687,980won per month, respectively. The estimated food cost were lower in the single and two person family than the actual food cost by the survey. The cost for eating-out gave major differences. In the future, to estimate food cost, the food consumption patterns for the different kind of household, sex and age should be studied carefully. Also, the pattern of eating-out should by analyzed.

도시지역 성인의 식습관, 식품기호도 및 영양섭취의 세대간 비교 -대학생과 부모 세대간 비교- (Comparisons of Korean Adults' Eating Habits, Food Preferences, and Nutrient Intake by Generation)

  • This study compared eating habits, food preferences, and the nutrient intakes of university students and their parents. The subjects were 186 students (68 males and 118 females) and 143 parents (62 fathers and 81 mothers) in 2 middle-sized cities and 3 metropolises. Eating habits and food preferences were investigated by questionnaire, and nutrient intake by a self recoding for 24-hour. The university students ate out, and ate breads, fast foods, instant foods, and canned or frozen products more frequently than their parents. They had higher preferences for meats, but lower preferences for fish, beans and bean products, vegetables, and sea weeds than their parents. Students took in more energy, total fat, total cholesterol, and SFA (saturated fatty acids) than their parents. The energy ratio of carbohydrate to the total energy intake was lower in the students than in their parents, while the energy ratio of fat to the total energy intake was higher in the students than in their parents. The intake of fats by the students amounted to more than 25% of the total energy intake. In conclusion, the university students had developed a more Western eating pattern and food preference, and were exposed to more risk factors to health than their parents, They should therefore, learn how to manage their meals more carefully in order to reduce risk factors to health.
