천인상응(天人相應)의 관점에서 바라본 "황제내경(黃帝內經)"의 인체관 연구 (Study on the Perception of the Human Body in "Huangdineijing" Viewed from the Perspective of the Correspondence between Nature and Human)

  • The organic and holistic recognition method about nature in east asian philosophy is also applied to the study of the human body in Korean medicine. In Korean medicine, the human body is being understood from a holistic point of view rather than a mechanical or reductive one. The main east asian philosophies are the heavens thought and the Yin-yang/Five Phase Theory. This study will explore the influence the general flow of heavens thought has on explaining the human body in Korean medicine and the formation of how the human body is perceived in "Huangdineijing"(黃帝內經). First, the primitive meaning of heaven was developed to include the natural heaven of Xia (夏), the lord heaven of Shang(商) and the moral heaven of Zhou(周) dynasties. Among these, the natural heaven notion of the Xia(夏) dynasty which recognized heaven as the one with the power to create everything. This was followed by Taoism which established the contrasting system of heaven and earth. Based on this, "Huangdineijing"(黃帝 內經) developed the perception of the human body, taking into account, heaven as the original substance to generate the human body through the mutual sympathy between heavenly energy and earthly form. The perspective of the correspondence between nature and human in "Huainantzu"(淮南子) and "L$\breve{u}$shichunqiu"(呂氏春秋) was succeeded by Tung Chung-Shu(董仲舒). Based on this development, the perception of the human body in "Huangdineijing"(黃帝內經) is related to the seasonal cycle and the notion of night and day to balance the physiology of the human body. It recognizes that its structure, shape, emotional state and physiological actions are correlated with heaven.

Urban Teachers' Perceptions and Practices of Culturally Relevant Science Teaching

  • This formative evaluation study presents a professional development program, "Earth Science Systems for Teachers (ESST)" held in a Midwest State in the United States. This study investigates how a professional development for urban teachers affects the teacher participants' perceptions of using the urban environment for their science teaching and their lesson unit development. The purpose of the program was to help urban teachers create science units using the urban geologic environment and its connection to urban students' everyday lives. The participant teachers' daily journal entries during the program, their lesson plans before and after the program, as well as their teaching reflections were collected as major data source. The teachers' daily journal entries were analyzed qualitatively and their pre-post lessons were analyzed quantitatively using a lesson plan analysis tool, Culturally Relevant Science Teaching Perspectives (CRSTP) was developed by the author. The lesson analysis tool was used to assess teachers' science lesson plans in the perspective of culturally relevant pedagogy and place-based pedagogy. The major findings include: 1) The teacher participants' field experiences in urban geologic sites and urban environments help the teachers to change their perceptions of using the urban environment as a teaching resource and 2) there were significant differences in their pre and post lesson unit scores based on CRSTP (P<. 01). The implications of this study are also discussed.

단양지역 지질·지형자원의 가치와 지오투어리즘 관점에서의 활용방안 (Value of Geologic·Geomorphic Resources of Danyang-gun and Its Application from Geotourism Perspective)

  • 단양에는 다양한 종류의 암석과 다양한 시대의 지층이 분포하고 있을 뿐만 아니라 고환경 및 구조운동을 학습하기 좋은 다양한 지질구조들이 발달해 있으며, 전형적인 카르스트지형, 풍화지형 그리고 하천지형이 발달해 있다. 따라서 지질·지형학적으로 큰 가치를 지닌 자원들을 잘 개발하고 지오투어리즘 관점에서 활용한다면, 관광객 흡수요인 다변화 및 지역민 고용창출 등 지역경제 활성화에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 특히, 단양은 야외지질답사를 위한 매우 좋은 지질자원들을 보유하고 있어서 지질학에 대한 관심유도를 통해 학문의 저변확대와 후학 양성 등에도 크게 기여할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 기존에 발굴된 자원과 가치평가를 통해 학술·교육적 가치가 크다고 판단되는 자원을 선정하였다. 특히, 이번 연구에서는 다양한 취성 및 연성 변형구조를 통해 지질구조운동을 학습할 수 있는 구조길(Route A: 일명 "정환길"), 다양한 암석과 층서, 그리고 접촉관계를 관찰할 수 있는 층서길(Route B: 일명 "순복길"), 전형적이고 다양한 지형(카르스트지형, 하천지형, 풍화지형)을 관찰하고 풍류를 즐길 수 있는 풍류길(Route C: 일명 "삿갓길") 등 세 개의 지질탐방코스를 제안하였다. 이들 지오트레일 코스가 지오투어리즘 관점에서 효율적으로 운영되기 위해서는 해설판과 전망대 설치, 지역민 해설사 양성, 탐방객 센터와 체험프로그램 개발 등이 함께 준비되어야 할 것이다.

우리나라 2009 개정 초등 과학교육과정과 핀란드 초등 과학교육과정 비교분석 (Comparison and Analysis of the 2009 Elementary Science Curriculum of South Korea and the Elementary Science Curriculum of Finland)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare and analyze the elementary science curriculum of Finland, which ranked at the first place in the science domain of Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), a comparative study on the academic achievements of OECD member nations, for three consecutive years and recorded a high national competitiveness index, and that of South Korea, thus providing information needed to develop curriculums and textbooks in the middle of occasional curriculum revisions and giving useful implications for the implementation of curriculum in the field of education in South Korea. The research findings were as follows: First, as for the science content areas based on the ratio of large area items according to the evaluation and analysis framework of TIMSS 2007, South Korea's ratio of life, chemistry, physics, and earth hardly showed fitness for TIMSS 2007 and exhibited equal distribution among the areas. In Finland, the ratio of life, chemistry, physical, and earth was similar to the fourth grade level of TIMSS 2007. The country showed differential distribution with life accounting for the highest percentage. Second, as for the cognitive domains, South Korea showed a high percentage in "Uses and Procedures of Tools" of "1. Knowing" and "Making Connections," "Comparison/Contrast/Classification," and "Uses of Models" of "2. Application." Finland recorded a high percentage in "Information Interpretation" of "2. Application." While South Korea focused on the uses and methods of scientific instruments during scientific activities, Finland made an approach with a focus on problems related to daily life such as the interpretation of information including reports and graphs from an interpretative perspective.

지식 축적과 AI 기술을 기반으로 한 인류 역사 모형 (Human History Model Based on Knowledge Accumulation and AI Technology)

  • 21세기 인류는 AI 실용 시대를 열어 가고 있다. 이제껏 인류는 산업 구조가 고도화 되어도 지식 생산의 추상화 작업 만큼은 자신의 고유 영역이라 보았는 데 그 믿음에 의구심을 갖게 되었고, 이에 현대인은 인간과 기계 지능을 구분하고 자신의 정체성을 새롭게 구축해야 하는 상황에 놓이게 되었다. 이에 본 논문은 현대 인류의 정체성을 과거로부터 축적한 지식의 결과라는 관점에서 살피고자 하였다. 이러한 논의를 지구와 인류 출현으로부터 시작하는 "단계별 지식 축적 방식의 변화" 라는 역사 모형으로 요약하여 제시하였다. 이 분석 모형의 1 단계는 지구 상에 인간 지능 출현까지의 "DNA 지식 축적" 이다. 2단계는 스스로 지식을 생산할 수 있게 된 인간의 생물학적 지능에 의한 "문명 지식 축적" 과정이다. 현재는 3단계로 분류되며 AI 기술을 이용한 "기계적 지식 축적"단계로 진입하고 있다고 보았다. 본 논문은 인류 역사를 이러한 단계별 지식 축적 모형으로 제안하며 관련한 논의를 기술하였다.

조선 침구(鍼灸)의 지향에 대한 소고(小考) (A Study on the Mind of Joseon's Acupuncture and Moxibustion Technology)

  • Objectives : This paper looks at the history of East Asian acupuncture and moxibustion in the context of the general orientations of craft and art. It is understood that acupuncture and moxibustion was the ultimate integration of reason and craft in which text and experience mutually influenced each other throughout its development. In Joseon, the pursuit of integration between the body and the order of the Heaven and Earth was particularly prominent. Methods : As in the words of Zhunagzi(莊子), the state in which something that deeply touches the mind manifests in the hands has been understood as the ultimate state in modern and ancient art. Starting here, I examined the possibility that Korean acupuncture and art has evolved from such foundations step by step. Major acupuncture and moxibustion texts were examined historically, starting with "Shenyingjing(神應經)", leading to "Junggan-Shenyingjing (重刊神應經)", "Chimgu-Gyeongheombang(鍼灸經驗方)", "Chijongjinam(治腫指南)", "Chijongjinam-Joseonchambon治腫指南朝鮮?本", "Chimgutaegilpyeonjip(鍼灸擇日編集)", "Chimgu-Myeonggam(鍼灸明鑑)". Introductions and main contents of the texts were analyzed and presented appropriately. Results : East Asian acupuncture and moxibustion has developed based on the study of pathways that correspond to Shen, of the accordance and harmony between body and the order of Heaven and Earth together with theoretical refinement, technical development, and acceptance of new discoveries. In the perspective of craft, this was motivated by artistic passions such as '得於心 應於手' and '醫者意也'. In the case of refined acupuncture methods, due to their difficulty in education and transmission there has been some fluctuation. Conclusions : Korea, China, and Japan share a largely similar philosophical and cultural basis. Reason and craft, text and experience mutually influenced each other while the core of refined acupuncture was widely shared. However, a certain bifurcation point could be detected.

"God Always Find a Way": The Crisis of Civilization and Its Overcoming through the Worldview of Daesoon Jinrihoe

  • This article is a compilation of civilizational crises and their overcoming from the worldview of Daesoon Jinrihoe, based on the premise that religion can offer advice on the crises faced by modern civilization. It is a reinterpretation of human history from a religious perspective, focusing on mutual contentions, grievances, grudges, and their overcoming. Daesoon Jinrihoe explains that modern civilizational crises were first recognized by divine beings in the 18th and 19th centuries, and then later recognized by humans in the 20th and 21st centuries. Unable to resolve the civilization crises, the divine beings asked the Supreme God to intervene in human history, and the Supreme God was born in a human body to reveal the root causes and development of various civilizational crise sand to propose solutions to overcome them. These solutions encompass setting the world aright and ushering in a new era through the Reordering Works of Heaven and Earth (天地公事), attaining enduring peace by practicing grievance resolution for mutual beneficence (解冤相生), and reconstructing the relationship between divine beings and humans in harmonious coexistence. Devotees hold that Daesoon Jinrihoe is a religion that originated as a solution to a problem faced by God rather than humankind. As such, it considers the crises of civilization and their overcoming as the reason for existence. According to the religion's worldview, the Supreme God has already provided the solution to these civilizational crises. With a tip of the hat to the film Interstellar (2014), it could be said, "God Found a Way. He Always Has." Now, Daesoon Jinrihoe posits that it is up to humans to implement the way that God found.

환경소양 요인별 수준에 따른 환경행동 실천 경험의 차이 (Differences in Environmental Behavior Practice Experience according to the Level of Environmental Literacy Factors)

  • 본 연구는 학습자들의 환경 소양을 조사하여 환경 소양의 요인별로 그 결과를 분류한 후, 요인별 분류에 따른 학생들의 환경행동 실천 경험에 대해 어떤 차이가 있는지를 알아보기 위한 연구이다. 연구의 실행은 P 광역시에 위치한 D 초등학교 6학년 학생 47명의 학생들을 최종 분석의 대상으로 진행되었으며, 환경소양 검사지와 환경행동 실천 경험에 관한 설문지를 주요 데이터로 사용하였다. 연구의 결과 학습자들은 환경소양 요인에 따라 세 군집으로 분류되었으며, 각각 고 환경소양군, 저 환경소양군, 저기능정서군으로 명명하였다. 각 군집별로 환경행동 실천 경험에 대한 기술 내용을 활용하여 언어 네트워크를 형성하고, 중심도 분석을 실시하여 시각화한 후 분석하였다. 분석한 결과 고환경소양군은 1) 환경행동 실천 주체를 개인과 가족으로 인식하고, 2) 환경행동 실천 경험을 환경소양의 모든 요소와 연관지어서 기술하였으며, 3) 기후변화에 대해 비교적 비관론적 관점으로 인식하는 것을 확인하였다. 저 환경소양군과 저기능정서군은 1)환경행동 실천 주체를 비교적 사회적 문제로 인식하고, 2) 환경행동 실천 경험에 대한 기술이 비교적 편향되어 있으며, 특히 저기능정서군은 지식 요소에 집중되어 있다. 그리고 3) 기후변화에 대해서는 비교적 낙관론적인 관점으로 인식하고 있는 것을 확인하였다. 이 같은 결론을 바탕으로 환경교육의 관점에서 시사점을 주는 제언을 하였다.

과학적 대칭성에 대한 이론적 고찰 및 과학교육에의 함의 (Theoretical Study of Scientific Symmetry and Its Implications for Science Education)

  • 본 연구는 대칭성에 대해 이론적으로 고찰하고 이의 과학교육적 함의를 도출하는 것을 목표로 한다. 이를 위해 첫째, 고대 그리스 학자들을 통해 일반적인 서양 과학의 사유방식을 살펴보았다. 둘째, 대칭성에 대한 인식을 고대와 근현대로 나누어 살펴보았다. 셋째, 이에 대한 과학교육적 함의를 도출하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 첫째, 서양 과학의 사유방식은 파르메니데스에서 시작되어 플라톤이 정립한 '추상화'이다. 둘째, 고대의 대칭성 인식은 추상화를 기반으로 한 아름다운 비율과 조화로서의 대칭성, 근현대의 대칭성 인식은 변화에서 불변을 찾고자 했던 추상화를 기반으로 한 불변의 관점으로서의 대칭성이다. 그리고 고대의 대칭성의 예시로서 에라토스테네스의 지구 둘레 측정 실험에 대해 고찰하였으며, 근현대의 대칭성의 예시로서 갈릴레이 상대성 및 변환을 고찰하였다. 셋째, 이에 따른 과학교육적 함의는 다음과 같다. 대칭성에 대한 인식은 고대부터 근현대 과학을 관통하는 핵심주제라는 관점에서 과학의 본성 교육에 도움이 될 수 있다. 둘째, 에라토스테네스 지구 둘레 측정 실험과 갈릴레이 상대성 및 변환의 경우 2022 개정 교육과정에는 제시되어 있지 않지만 과학과 핵심역량 및 개념 이해에 도움이 될 수 있다. 마지막으로, 대칭성을 중심으로한 통합적 접근으로의 과학교육은 과학적 태도와 흥미에 긍정적인 영향을 줄 수 있다.

초등과학교육에서 인공지능의 적용방안 연구 (A Study on the Application of Artificial Intelligence in Elementary Science Education)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate elementary school teachers' awareness of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and find out how to apply it in elementary science education. The survey was conducted online and involved 95 teachers working in the metropolitan area. The results of this study are as follows. First, teachers need to learn about the general characteristics of AI and how to apply it to education. Second, science classes had the highest preference for AI among elementary school subjects. Third, the preference for AI application by elementary science field was 68.4% for earth and space, 54.7% for exercise and energy, 32.6% for matter, 27.4% for life. Fourth, AI-based Science Education (AISE) teaching- learning strategies were developed based on AI characteristics and the changing perspective of elementary science education, AISE's teaching-learning strategies are five: 'automation', 'individualization', 'diversification', 'cooperation' and 'creativity' and teachers can use them in teaching design, class practice and evaluation stages. Finally, the creative problem-solving Doing Thinking Making Sharing (DTMS) model was devised to implement the creativity strategy in AISE. This model consists of four-steps teaching courses: Doing, Thinking, Making and Sharing based on the empirical learning theory. In the future, follow-up research is needed to verify the effectiveness of this model by applying it to elementary science education.
