Imagism of The Early Poems of William Carlos Williams

  • This paper attempts, not to evaluate, but to describe William Carlos Williams' poetic techniques in accord with his poetic theory of Imagism; it does this by showing the early poetry in 1910's. The purpose of this paper is to analyze how Williams developed his poetic techniques with his theory of poetry. The progress of his poetic theory is drawn from the influence of another poet, Ezra Pound. William Carlos Williams' poetic development in Imagism threads the periods of his writing from the early 1910's to the early of 1920's. William Carlos Williams forms progressively the theory of his poetic technique of Imagism in this period. He treats the poems as images. In his theory of Imagism, his art continually demonstrates the development of poetic techniques by the help of other artists. This period represents Williams' attention to the essence of poetic elements: 'the thing itself.' All of these things in life come before us in his poetry in such a way as to be a technical process divided into the well-formed theory of poetry. The development of William Carlos Williams' poetic technique takes a particular pattern in order to achieve a theory of Imagism. At last, the steps of his poetic technique arrive at an organic unity of poetic theory in the early poetry of Williams.

전통적 교육이론에 따른 유아교육용 멀티미디어 콘텐츠 설계 방안 (Multimedia Contents Design for Early Childhood Education to Traditional Education Theory)

  • This study investigates design strategies for improving the educational quality of multimedia contents for early childhood education. It emphasizes both traditional education theory and developmental aspects in its exploration of interactive and educational qualitative multimedia contents for early children. Accordingly, for an effective early childhood education, it is necessary to experience of the playful learning for the conception of ideas and the understanding of the social life. Because this study 1) possibility of multimedia contents for early childhood education, 2) computer application method for early childhood education, 3) examines used in the designing of multimedia contents for early childhood education according to traditional education theory. Multimedia early childhood education system is possible to organize information such as test, image, sound and video based on hyperlink system. I use Microsoft's Ms-office and Asymetrix's ToolBook software that are useful for hyperlink and parameter. Multimedia contents and other pages are used by Dynamic Data Exchange(DDE). Therefore multimedia contents for early childhood education is a useful tool for students of early childhood education department, parents, and children.

농암(農巖) 김창협(金昌協) 인물성론(人物性論)의 초(初)·만년설(晩年說) 구분에 대한 비판 (A Critic on Analysis for theory of Nature between Human and Animal in Nongam Kim Changhyob)

  • 농암(農巖) 김창협(金昌協)에 대하여 당시 학계에서 그의 인물성론(人物性論)에 대한 해석에서 초년미정설(初年未定說)과 만년정론(晩年定論)이라는 논란이 일어났다. 오희상(吳熙常)은 "상우재중용의의문목(上尤齋中庸疑義問目)"은 초년미정설, "여권유도재론사변록변(與權有道再論思辨錄辨)"은 만년정론이라고 해석하였다. 뿐만 아니라 그의 동생 김창흡(金昌翕)도 "상우재중용의의문목(上尤齋中庸疑義問目)"을 초년미정설이라고 해석한다. 김창협의 제자 어유봉(魚有鳳)은 서변(書辨)과 잡식(雜識)을 만년정론이라고 해석하였다. 임성주(任聖周)는 잡지를 초년미정설과 만년정설이라고 해석하였다. 이로 인하여 현재의 연구자들도 그에 동조하여 김창협의 인물성론에 대하여 초년설과 만년설에 차이가 있다고 해석한다. 반면에 임성주는 김창협의 잡지에서 초년의 인물성동론이 만년에 인물성이론으로 고쳤다고 주장한다. 그러나 김창협의 "상우재중용의의문목(上尤齋中庸疑義問目)"에서는 기의 통색(通塞)으로 인하여 리도 그에 따라서 편전(偏全)이 있다고 말함으로서 인물성이론이 나타나고 있다. 반면에 "여권유도재론사변록변(與權有道再論思辨錄辨)"에서 직접 동론과 이론이 모두 나타나고 있다. 만물과 인간의 리가 같다고 여겼고 그것은 인물성동론을 의미한다. 반면에 인간이 생성될 때 형기의 정을 얻었기 때문에 그 성은 온전하지만, 다른 생물은 그 편을 얻었기 때문에 그 성이 온전하지 못하다고 하는데 그것은 인물성이론이다. 인물성동론의 이유는 리(理), 이론은 형기(形氣)의 차이에서 일어난다고 여겼던 것이다. 하지만 잡지에서 직접은 아니지만 간접적으로 인물성동론과 이론이 나타나고 있다. 반면에 낙론의 어유봉과 오희상은 잡지를 만년정론이라고 해석한다. 같은 글에 대한 해석에서 이러한 차이점이 있다는 것은 결국 이들 모두 자신의 학설을 김창협에 가탁했다고 할 수 있다. 김창협의 인물성론에 대한 해석으로서 초년미정설과 만년정론은 후세 학자들의 구분일 뿐이다. 자신들의 학설을 김창협의 권위에 가탁했던 것이다. 결국 김창협에게서 그러한 변화는 없었다고 할 수 있다.

  • Sophus Lie's research is regarded as one of the most important mathematical advancements in the $19^{th}$ century. His pioneering research in the field of differential equations resulted in an invaluable consolidation of calculus and group theory. Lie's group theory has been investigated and constantly modified by various mathematicians which resulted in a beautifully abstract yet concrete theory. However Lie's early intentions and ideas are lost in the mists of modern transfiguration. In this paper we explore Lie's early academic years and his object of studies which clarify the ground breaking ideas behind his theory.

The use of network theory to model disparate ship design information

  • This paper introduces the use of network theory to model and analyze disparate ship design information. This work will focus on a ship's distributed systems and their intra- and intersystem structures and interactions. The three system to be analyzed are: a passageway system, an electrical system, and a fire fighting system. These systems will be analyzed individually using common network metrics to glean information regarding their structures and attributes. The systems will also be subjected to community detection algorithms both separately and as a multiplex network to compare their similarities, differences, and interactions. Network theory will be shown to be useful in the early design stage due to its simplicity and ability to model any shipboard system.

  • Traditional Chinese Medicine is based on Five Phase theory that link Liver, Heart, Spleen, Lung, Kidney to Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water respectively. Recently, some argue that this correspondence scheme had been established by political or socio-humane issues in early Eastern Han dynasty. But according to our analysis on Changgongyeoljeon(in Sagi), it has been revealed that this scheme had their own history from early Western Han dynasty. So we may conclude that people with medical profession had preserved the current correspondence scheme in Five Phase theory regardless trends of literature and politics in Western and Eastern Han dynasty.

  • The "Dismal Theorem" (Essay) of Maithus is juxtaposed to the utopianism of both Marquis de Condorcet and of William Godwin who believed in the perfectibility of man and of the greater power of civilization over that of population. The socio-political environment that gave birth to the neo-Maltbusianism and of the economic Malthusianism is briefly sketched on, along with the discrepancy between the early theories (1978) of Malthus and the later Malthusian theory; nemely, the biological population principles of his early period runs head-on into his theory of effective demand and underconsumption. Malthus belonged to both the anti-Ricardian and the Ricardian classical tradition, and his attempt to reconcile the anomalies was not very satisfactory. Karl Marx criticized Malthus for his incon-sistent radical conservative theory of population and John Maynard Keynes came to the rescue of this Maltbusian dilemma in the 1930's, with but a morsel of success.f success.

유아교육의 구성주의적 접근 : 구성주의 교수에 대한 성찰 (Constructivist Approach to Early Childhood Education : Reflections on Constructivist Teaching)

  • The purpose of this article was to clarify the meaning of constructivist teaching and to improve methods related to constructivist teaching. As a theory of learning, constructivism is serving as the basis for many of the current reforms in education. Many educators, however, misconceive what constructivist teaching means. The application of Piagetian theory to early childhood education was reviewed and analyzed. This article provides the overarching principles of constructivist teaching in early childhood classrooms with emphasis on illumination of the misconception. It postulates that constructivist teachers find their own autonomously selected ways to integrate the principles of constructivist teaching.

  • Early academic warning is considered as an inherent problem in education data mining. Early and timely concern and guidance can save a student's university career. It is widely assumed as a multi-class classification system in view of machine learning. Therefore, An accurate and precise methodical solution is a complicated task to accomplish. For this issue, we present a hybrid model employing rough set theory with a back-propagation neural network to ameliorate the predictive capability of the system with an illustrative example. The experimental results show that it is an effective early academic warning model with an escalating improvement in predictive accuracy.
