The researches and developments to provide multimedia communication services such as Video on Demand(VoDJ), real time video phonc and multipoint vidco conferencing on broadband ISDN environmcnts have been proceeded with activity. Specifications for Vol) services which is worked by Digital Audio-Visual Council(DAVIC) to support detail technologies including total service system that is consist of VoD server. delive[\! networl, and Set-Top Box(STB) had been already finished and ITU-T SG16 also recommended the standards of H.300 series terminal aspects for conversational multimedia services, But the architectures of multimedia tenninals recommended and specified by these organizations do not have an efficient st11lcture to provide all of retrieval, distrihution and conversational service due to a different point of view about multimedia terminals and services. In this paper, we analyzed the recornmendatio!E and the specifications of intemational public and private organizations like lTU-T, DAVIC and ATM forum. As a result of these analysis. we propose an efficient terminal architecture, and then we have designed, lmplemented the multimedia communication terminal for offering VoI) and real- time conversation ,,, functional module test according to the individual commumication service session and confirined the validiry or terminal implemented to be used on broadband ISDK environments.

Internet is no longer a network for special communities but became a global means of communication infrastructure for everyday life. People are exchanging their personal messages using e-mails, students are getting their educational aids through the web, people are buying a variety of goods from cyber shopping malls, and companies are conducting their businesses over the Internet. Recently, such an explosive growth of the traffic in the Internet raised a big concern on how to accommodate ever-changing user's needs in terms of an amount of the traffic, characteristics of the traffic, and various service quality requirements, Over provisioning can be a simple solution but it is too expensive and inefficient. Thus many new technologies to solve this very difficult puzzle have bcen introduced recently, Any single solution, however, can be insufficient and a carefully designed architecture, which integrates a group of solutions, is required. In this paper, we propose a policy-based Internet QoS provisioning, traffic engineering and perfonnance management system as our solution to this problem. Our integrated management QoS solution can provide highly responsive flow-through service provisioning, more realistic service and resource policy control based on the real network performance information, and centralized control of traffic engineering for heterogeneous networks.
With the development of e-Commerce and the proliferation of easily accessible information, information filtering systems such as recommender and SDI systems have become popular to prune large information spaces so that users are directed toward those items that best meet their needs and preferences. Until now, many information filtering methods have been proposed to support filtering systems. XML is emerging as a new standard for information. Recently, filtering systems need new approaches in dealing with XML documents. So, in this paper our system suggests a method to create multiform user profiles with XML's ability to represent structure. This system consists of two parts; one is an administrator profile definition part that an administrator defines to analyze users purchase pattern before a transaction such as purchase happens directly. an other is a user profile creation part module which is applied by the defined profile. Administrator profiles are made from DTD information and it is supposed to point the specific part of a document conforming to the DTD. Proposed system builds user's profile more accurately to get adaptability for user's behavior of buying and provide useful product information without inefficient searching based on such user's profile.

Extraction and selection of the informative features play a central role in pattern recognition. This paper describes a modified back-propagation algorithm that performs selection of the informative features and trains a neural network simultaneously. The algorithm is mainly composed of three repetitive steps : training, connection pruning, and input unit elimination. Afer initial training, the connections that have small magnitude are first pruned. Any unit that has a small number of connections to the hidden units is deleted, which is equivalent to excluding the feature corresponding to that unit.If the error increases, the network is retraned, again followed by connection pruning and input unit elimination. As a result, the algorithm selects the most im-portant features in the measurement space without a transformation to another space. Also, the selected features are the most-informative ones for the classification, because feature selection is tightly coupled with the classifi-cation performance. This algorithm helps avoid measurement of redundant or less informative features, which may be expensive.Furthermore, the final network does not include redundant parameters,i.e.,weights and biases, that may cause degradation of classification performance. In applications, the algorithm preserves the most informative features and significantly reduces the dimension of the feature vectors whiout performance degradation.

Recently, software-based programmable logic controller (PLC) systems, which are implemented in standard PLC languages on general hardware, are gaining popularity because they overcome the limitations of classical hardware PLC systems. Another noticeable trend is that the use of integrated development environment (IDE) is becoming important. IDEs can help developers to easily manage the growing complexity of modern control systems. Furthermore, industrial Ethernet, e.g. EtherCAT, is becoming widely accepted as a replacement for conventional fieldbuses in the distributed control domain because it offers favorable features such as short transmission delay, high bandwidth, and low cost. In this paper, we implemented the extension of open source IDE, called Beremiz, for developing EtherCAT-based real-time, synchronized motion control applications. We validated the EtherCAT system management features and the real-time responsiveness of the control function by using commercial EtherCAT drives and evaluation boards.

The first mission for the IoT based hyper-connectivity communication is developing a device-to-device communication technique in infra-less low-power and lossy networks. In a low-power and lossy wireless network, IoT devices and routers cannot keep the original path toward the destination since they have the limited memory. Different from the previous light-weight routing protocols focusing on the reduction of the control messages, the proposed scheme provides the light-weight IPv6 address auto-configuration, IPv6 neighbor discovery and routing protocol in a IoT capable infra-less wireless networks with the bloom filer and enhanced rank concepts. And for the first time we evaluate our proposed scheme based on the modeling of various probability distributions in the IoT environments with the lossy wireless link. Specifically, the proposed enhanced RPL based light-weight routing protocol improves the robustness with the multi-paths locally established based on the enhanced rank concepts even though lossy wireless links are existed. We showed the improvements of the proposed scheme up to 40% than the RPL based protocol.
Various business model and computing environments are currently merged into web services and many web related application products are also develop. Most of IT enterprises in Korea use the Service-oriented architecture (SOA) whenever they develop the web applications. SOA is an approach to loosely coupled, protocol independent, standards-based distributed computing where software resources available on the network are considered as Services. SOA is believed to become the future enterprise technology solution that promises the agility and flexibility the business users have been looking for by leveraging the integration process through composition of the services spanning multiple enterprises. But, There are no specific development methodology to apply into SOA standard model until now. The developer uses the currently existing methodology to develop the application with SOA. The users have some limitations to use it. In this paper, we suggest a Frameworks for applying agile methodology into SOA to address the productivity and quality of small web related project. We design and implement a frameworks architecture for applying the agile method into SOA and describe the process model to implement it. We finally evaluate the frameworks with productivity, flexibility and maintainability.

A number of construction companies in Korea invest considerable human and financial resources to construct a system for managing apartment defect data and for categorizing repair tasks. Thus, this study proposes machine learning models to automatically classify defect complaint text-data into one of the sub categories of 'finishing work' (i.e., one of the defect repair tasks). In the proposed models, we employed two word representation methods (Bag-of-words, Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF)) and two machine learning classifiers (Support Vector Machine, Random Forest). In particular, we conducted both binary- and multi- classification tasks to classify 9 sub categories of finishing work: home appliance installation work, paperwork, painting work, plastering work, interior masonry work, plaster finishing work, indoor furniture installation work, kitchen facility installation work, and tiling work. The machine learning classifiers using the TF-IDF representation method and Random Forest classification achieved more than 90% accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score. We shed light on the possibility of constructing automated defect classification systems based on the proposed machine learning models.

The data response speed is a critical issue of cloud services because it directly related to the user experience. As such, the in-memory database is widely adopted in many cloud-based applications for achieving fast data response. However, the current implementation of the in-memory database is mostly based on the linked list-based hash table which cannot guarantee the constant data response time. Thus, cuckoo hashing was introduced as an alternative solution, however, there is a disadvantage that only half of the allocated memory can be used for storing data. Subsequently, bucketized cuckoo hashing (BCH) improved the performance of cuckoo hashing in terms of memory efficiency but still cannot overcome the limitation that the insert overhead. In this paper, we propose a data management solution called Wall Cuckoo which aims to improve not only the insert performance but also lookup performance of BCH. The key idea of Wall Cuckoo is that separates the data among a bucket according to the different hash function be used. By doing so, the searching range among the bucket is narrowed down, thereby the amount of slot accesses required for the data lookup can be reduced. At the same time, the insert performance will be improved because the insert is following up the operation of the lookup. According to analysis, the expected value of slot access required for our Wall Cuckoo is less than that of BCH. We conducted experiments to show that Wall Cuckoo outperforms the BCH and Sorting Cuckoo in terms of the amount of slot access in lookup and insert operations and in different load factor (i.e., 10%-95%).
Key-value storage engines are an essential component of growing demand in many computing environments, including social networks, online e-commerce, and cloud services. Recent key-value storage engines offer many features such as transaction, versioning, and replication. In a key-value storage engine, transaction processing provides atomicity through Write-Ahead-Logging (WAL), and a synchronous commit method for transaction processing flushes log data before the transaction completes. According to our observation, flushing log data to persistent storage is a performance bottleneck for key-value storage engines due to the significant overhead of fsync() calls despite the various optimizations of existing systems. In this article, we propose a group synchronization method to improve the performance of the key-value storage engine. We also design and implement a transaction scheduling method to perform other transactions while the system processes fsync() calls. The proposed method is an efficient way to reduce the number of frequent fsync() calls in the synchronous commit while supporting the same level of transaction provided by the existing system. We implement our scheme on the WiredTiger storage engine and our experimental results show that the proposed system improves the performance of key-value workloads over existing systems.
