A Study on the Development Direction of Export and Import Logistics Service in e-Trade (전자무역의 수출입 물류서비스 개발방향에 관한 연구)

  • These days international trade has been converting to e-Trade formation. At this point, Korea has been striving for the trade facilitation; reducing logistics cost and improving foreign competitiveness by computerization operations of the maritime transportation that logistics and customs clearance are involved. However, due to the substantial characteristic of logistics service, the necessity of flexible and various logistics service development using internet has been strongly suggested. In particular, the logistics service which could share documents related to international physical movement between shippers and logistics organization. In this regard, this study carried out interview to explore the problems of physical distribution service and to suggest development direction of e-logistics service. The reason why this survey carried out is that most of users want more effective e-logistic service that could diminish successively real expense decrease. After analysis of survey results, this paper presents the basic development direction and emphasis development subjects. Therefore, the basic direction is presented from four viewpoints; customer-oriented approach, service-oriented approach, total approach and step-by-step implementation. Furthermore six development subjects; web-based standard module development for small and medium forwarders, development of standard logistics ERP system, collaboration model between KTNET and KLNET, system improvement for real users, on-demand system building for SMEs and connection with legacy system have been required.

An Empirical Analysis on the Service Quality and the User Satisfaction in e-Trade Portal Sites (전자무역 포탈사이트의 서비스품질과 이용자만족도에 관한 실증적 연구)

  • This paper examines the major determinants affecting the user satisfaction on e-Trade portal sites in small and medium-sized exporters. The development of our research model is based on the empirical studies on the service quality of information system, web sites or Internet shopping mall, and on the factors influencing the user satisfaction. With the help of a regression analysis and factor analysis, five hypotheses are derived and tested. The results from regression analysis suggest that the user satisfaction of e-Trade portal sites is affected by information characteristics and ease of use of e-Trade portal sites. In addition, the user satisfaction of e-Trade portal sites is enhanced by support for international trade. Our findings will be useful, especially for those who are planning to build user-oriented e-Trade portal sites.

  • This thesis examines the problems faced in the electronic trade platform for which improvements are necessary, and suggests various ways of overcoming those problems. Practical implications regarding the advancement of Korea's u-TradeHub system are as follows. First, from the technical and legal aspects, to make up for a lack of support systems for spread of users, it is required to promote customized advertising strategies through Ministry of Knowledge Economy and establish a global certification system. Second, document standardization and digitalization should be achieved in advance to make the documents distributed through the e-Trade platform in a seamless manner. Furthermore, an ongoing global network development project should be promoted through the e-Trade platform to achieve standardization. Third, from the operational aspect, it is important to maintain an integrated and systematic relationship with related organizations. Because vertical integration among logistics service providers and GSCM are enabled through the e-Trade platform, it is necessary to standardize global network-based linkage and operating systems.

A Study on e-B/L Korea Service and its Facilitation Strategies (한국형 전자선하증권 활성화 전략에 관한 연구)

  • Korea has accomplished the establishment of the National Single Window for Paperless Trade. Since 1991, it has developed Trade Automation Service System based on EDI technology. In 2003, Korean government and private sectors jointly began to set up National Paperless Trade Service( e-Trade Service) as one of the e-government projects. In 2008, they commenced the uTradeHub Service which was equipped with Internet based e-B/L and e-Nego service systems for the first time in the world To facilitate the service Korea amended its e-Trade facilitation Act and Law by 2007. At the end of 2011, Korea historically recorded its trade volume of 1 trillion US dollars and joined '$1 trillion trade club' as the 9the member country since the country had started international trade less than five decades ago. A rolling out of the e-B/L and e-Nego service will 'ally reduce the transaction costs of trading businesses and accelerate the activation e-trade services. The purposes of the study are to examine 'e-B/L Korea' service and its facilitation strategies as well as identify obstacles to utilize the 'e-B/L Korea' service. The paper reviewed and analyzed Korea's Paperless trade system and distinctive characteristics of the 'e-B/L Korea Service. Parts of the fOWld distinctive characteristics of the Korea's e-B/L service are as follows; It is well equiped with IT and legal system. It also has more that 30,000 potential users who are already uTradeHub service users. The paper indicated several weaknesses of the current system such as global KPI issues, circulation of the electronic documents not only in the domestic market but also among economies, development of the electronic Bill of Exchange. As resolution measures, the paper recommended the introduction of mutual recognition system of PKI among trade partner counties, setting up e-trade solution for small and medium companies, and special attention to raise users' awareness of the e-B/L service.

  • It is very necessary to find how to develop international government procurement by analyzing functions and roles of information providing circumstance and existing total international government procurement information system. In addition, it would require to draw up a way of improving current international government procurement information system based on the problems of existing system. In this study, we analyze the current status of Korean international government procurement information system and give an idea of mutual cooperating with DGMARKET, a good example of international government procurement information system. As a practical method, cooperating with DGMARKET by building each countries' gateway will be very helpful in cost saving and providing information. It will also complement the limitation of Korean system's one way service. But supplying only international government procurement information is insufficient in realization of e-trade in international goverment procurement market. To settle these problems, treating international government procurement as a same field of trade and giving political support and incentive to company which hopes to participate international goverment procurement are absolutely needed.

  • As the rapid development of IT and the internet changed the trading method from the traditional offline transaction into the online e-Trading, the international documentation standards, the eUCP and the domestic laws and legislations have been established, adapting to the new e-Trading environment. This study was conducted to analyze the factors which affect the use of uTradeHub on the domestic trading companies and trade-related organizations and suggest how to activate e-Trading. To do this, classify the users into the enterprises and the trade-related organizations, set up the hypothesis of the study with the measurement variables of the user convenience, the new service, the system suitability and the legislation environment and carry out a survey targeting the trading companies and the trade-related offices to do an actual proof analysis. The analysis was performed by using the statistical program, SPSS IBM22.0, and the study hypothesis was tested by the multiple regression analysis methodology. The test result showed that the trading companies set a high value on the user convenience, the new service and the legislation environment of uTradeHub, meanwhile the trade-related organizations regarded the system security and reliability, the user convenience and the legislation environment as the major affecting factor on the use of uTradeHub.

  • The purposes of the study are to measure the relative importance of independent variables, to analyze relation between user satisfaction and use, and to improve the level of user satisfaction in using e-Trade system(uTradeHub). The study develops the independent variables in three dimensions(i.e the quality of system, quality of information, and quality of service), estimates the level of satisfaction on a par with these variables, and analyzes the causal relation of these variables. The major findings of the study are as follows. First, there is a significant casual relationship between the quality of system and user satisfaction, thus the hypothesis is accepted. Second, there is a significant casual relationship between the quality of information and user satisfaction, thus the hypothesis is accepted. Third, there is a significant casual relationship between the quality of service and user satisfaction, thus the hypothesis is accepted. Final, there is a significant casual relationship between the user satisfaction and use, thus the hypothesis is accepted.

  • The purpose of this paper is to review the major issues of between electronic trade and Ubiquitous computing. The rapidly developed environment by ubiquitous computing make the paradigm form e-trade to u-trade.   • Recently, in the global and digital business environment, we are in need of a single window through which we can exchange market information, make a contract, exchange foreign currency, clear customs and settle accounts. The "e-Trade platform" provides all the stakeholders in international trading circles with these series of trading processes by use of any available information technologies in an effective and seamless manner. The platform collectively includes e-trade infrastructures(e-trade documents repository, e-trade messaging system, e-trade standard documents repository) enabling small and medium sized companies as well as large enterprises to interface with government organizations and global trading institutions. The IT levels of the trading companies are significantly important in terms of benefiting the quality services from the e-trade platform.

  • The purpose of this study is to look at the role of e-trade for trade facilitation, which was the conclusion of November 27, 2014 which is based on the main discussions and content of the WTO. This study examines the data collected based on previous research and literature data, and it proposed a policy direction using it. Trade facilitation agreement also contains a number of e-Trade related information and internet-based electronic documents can be sent very quick flow of information and it can save time and cost concerning parties. e-Trade is a very important basement and it is needed to continually develop and exchange for trade facilitation. To make easy trade facilitation, e-Trade is one of the means to achieve competitiveness of companies and countries under these circumstances. The conclusion of this study shows that it is necessary to steadily develop e-trade technologies for trade facilitation and to continuously exchange e-trade system for easy customs services in concerining countries to maximize these effects.
