This study explores the impacts of e-learning system characteristics on learner committment and satisfaction by surveying the firms utilizing e-learning systems for learning. In the study, we have, first, drawn the key factors and instruments to measure e-learning system characteristics through intensive literature review. Second, we have investigated whether the characteristics contribute to increasing learner's commitment and satisfaction. Finally, we have examined the mediating effect of learner's commitment between the characteristics of e-learning system and learner satisfaction. We have conducted a survey on the employees having experience in using e-learning systems for learning, and collected a total of 93 responses. The results of a statistical analysis show the following: First, expression and interaction affect the learner's commitment. The results indicate that a learner should engage in e-learning and ultimately be more committed on it when there is a coherence in design and organization of learning contents, and when the system offers various multimedia options including audio, sound, image, graphics, etc. Second, leaner's commitment leads to higher learning satisfaction. Finally, our results show that the commitment plays a mediating role between learner characteristics (expression, control, and trust) and learner satisfaction.

E-learning is the application of e-business technology and services to teaching and learning. It use of new multimedia technologies and Internet to improved the qualify of learning by facilitating access to remote resources and services. In this paper, we show a computer-based test system, which is carefully designed and implemented. The system consists of a contents delivery mechanism, computer-adaptive test algorithm, and review engine. In this papepr, we describe what are points to be considered when design and implementing a computer-based test system. In addition, this paper shows how to control the bias value for computer-adaptive algorithm using real data.

In this paper, we propose an Recommendation System for supporting self-directed learning on e-learning marketplace. The key idea of this system is recommendation system using revised collaborative filtering to support marketplace. Exisiting collaborative filtering method consists of 3 stages as preparing low data, building familiar customer group by selecting nearest neighbor, creating recommendation list. This study designs recommendation system to support self-directed learning by using collaborative filtering added nearest neighbor learning course that considered industry and learning level. This service helps to select right learning course to learner in industry. Recommendation System can be built by many method and to recommend the service content including explicit properties using revised collaborative filtering method can solve limitations in existing content recommendation.

If an instruction system understood the interest and activeness of a learner in real time, it could provide some interesting factors when a learner is tired of learning. It could work as an adaptive tutoring system to help a learner to understand something difficult to understand. Currently the area of the facial expression recognition mainly deals with the facial expression of adults focusing on anger, hatred, fear, sadness, surprising and gladness. These daily facial expressions couldn't be one of expressions of a learner in e-Learning. They should first study the facial expressions of a learner in e-Learning to recognize the feeling of a learner. Collecting as many expression pictures as possible, they should study the meaning of each expression. This study, as a prior research, analyzes the feelings of learners and facial expressions of learners in e-Learning in relation to the feelings to establish the facial expressions database.

In this paper, the research has been done to develop the inclination test items to form the desirable online learning community in which social interaction may be maximized, dropout rate lowered and learners' feeling of isolation eliminated. Once developed, the inclination test items have been classified into homogeneous ones and heterogeneous ones. And on the basis of the results of this research, Intelligent agent based Inclination Test Grouping e-learning System(IIGS) has been developed, which can perform automatic grouping of online leaning community by intelligent agent. The results of this research with 1,000 teachers in reality by means of developing the grouping system have shown that 151 groups are automatically formed. Among them, 34% have shown very high degree of learning satisfaction and intended to maintain the groups in the future.

A high-speed Internet has brought a rapid spread of Web Based Distance Learning(WBDL). Even though the WBDL was considered a new methodology to overcome the limitation of a traditional education, it evolves not as alternatives but as strategic augmenting tools for a traditional face-to-face education. The WBDL systems accommodate diverse services such as e-Learning, e-Mentoring, and Blended Learning in order to give satisfactions to learners and increase the learning effectiveness. This study suggested the WBDL system's and learner's characteristics as two major affecting factors, in which two independent variables were respectively selected. A mediating effect of learning motivation between the independent variables and learning achievement was empirically tested. The interactions between the WBDL sysrem and learners were also tested on the view points of the moderating effects between the learning motivation and the learning achievement. The results showed that the mediating effects of learning motivation and the moderating effects of the system interactions were statistically significant.

The present thesis aims to analyze in consideration of recent changes in teaching environment in the universities the commercial digital contents and e-learning courses provided by the libraries, and to propose the ways to encourage university library service needed under the current situation. A survey of professors and students upon the quality of commercial digital contents service provided by the libraries in I University was made to measure its influence upon e-learning courses. The quality of commercial digital contents service provided by libraries was measured through Digital Library Service Quality Index (which will be referred as DL-SQL Model from here), which is used as a model to examine the Digital Library Service, with partial adjustments of 4 levels (information system service, digital books service, customer service quality, and customer community service) and 7 components (search possibility, an exclusive organization and interface, accessibility, digital books, customer support service, personalized service, and customer community). Among the library services in regard to digital contents, "customer service" and "customer community service" were analyzed to have stronger influence upon e-learning teaching and studying than quality-based service for "information system" and "digital books". Consequently, it is concluded that customized information service provided by the library for the professors who teach e-learning courses and their students is more influential to supporting e-learning courses than quantity pushing service through purchasing commercial digital contents, upon which the direction of digital contents policy to provide library services for e-learning courses should be based.

This paper aims at studying the new SCORM based e-Learning system and self-course design method. To construct this aims, we have researched the merits, shortcomings and characteristics of the previous LMS(Learning Management System) and we have researched the merits, shortcomings and characteristics of SCORM(Sharable Content Object Reference Model). SCORM was suggested ADL (Advanced Distributed Learning) to elevate the reusability of learning contents. Also we have researched the related researches of SCORM, SCORM based LMS and case studies. This paper suggests the level based self learning and course design and the system based on SCORM. This system has elevated the effectiveness and satisfaction of the learners.

The object rye of this study is to analyze the relationship of the main variables - perceived usefulness (PU) and perceived ease of use (PEOU) - wi th self-efficacy and IT service quality. In result, we show that IT service quality effects on PEOU and PU, and computer self-efficacy effects on PEOU.
