  • e-Marketplace is a business concept which is importantly considered in the area of marketing. e-Marketplace provides the public field in which multi-purchasers can efficiently trade with multi-suppliers. Supply Chain Management(SCM) is being widely acknowledged by the development of information technology. SCM is well known as one of the key issues lately. The complexity of supply chains and the associated potential opportunities for gaining a competitive edge by designing a product and process to support supply chain management can be significant. In order to achieve successful implementation of supply chain management system, companies should understand some barriers in implementation and set up effective and integrated information system. Standardization of logistics is needed through the unification of EDI, Bar Code, Pallet and so on. It's effect is magnified on Efficient Consumer Response such as efficient store assortment, efficient replenishment, efficient promotion and efficient product introduction. International logistics management is the integration of key business processes from original suppliers to end user that provides products, services and information that add value for customers. e-Logistics is being used in managing the international logistics. In this study, three basic e-SCM models for the strategic implementation of supply chain management are suggested. Among them, the virtual company can be the best one we can develop in order to cope with the individualized customer needs.

  • In the real world, business processes are very complex and composed or heterogeneous business activities. As the advent or the Web services enables business processes to be Integrated and to be automated. It makes enterprises integrate heterogeneous business processes from different business partners as well as their internal business processes. To support recent trends in integration of business processes, BPEL, WS-E and WS-T specipications have been established since 2002 WS-C and WS-T describe the reliable business environment including compensation (undo) or completed business processes. The compensation of business processes is a basic requirement for automation or business processes among business partners. Systems implementing these specifications, however, very rarely exist. It's not only because those specifications are developed recently. but also because they are not perfect yet. In this paper, a new business process transaction management, which complements the deficiency of WS-E and WS-T, is suggested. Furthermore, the new approach proposes the business logics for supervisory coordinators which manage serial and parallel business gates The modification or traditional WS-T specification and the simplification or WS-E specification make business processes managed effectively.

  • Data dictionary is a collection of meta-data, which describes data produced and consumed while performing business processes. Data dictionary is an essential element for business process standardization and automation, and has a fundamental role in ERP application management and customization. Also, data dictionary facilitates B2B processes by enabling painless integration of business processes between various enterprises. We implemented data dictionary support in SEA+, a component- based scalable ERP system developed in ETRI, and found out that it's a plausible feature of business information system. We discovered that data dictionary promotes semantic, not syntactic, data management, which can make it possible to leverage viability of the tool in the coming age of more meta-data oriented computing world. We envision that business data dictionary is a firm foundation of adapting business knowledge, applications and processes into the semantic web based enterprise infra-structure.

  • With the boom of platform businesses, digital transformation has become the most important topic for businesses. Digital transformation has now become the most urgent strategy for survival, from a strategy considered as an option to choose in the past. Many companies are desperately seeking the ways to be digitally transformed. Even though there have been many studies on digital transformation, most of them are on strategic and conceptual model levels based on simple case analyses. In this study, we analyze the benefits of data integration and network effects from it, based on platform business model at the core of digital transformation. The change based on platform can be categorized into the internal one for the integration of data and better decision making, and the external one for the expansion of the businesses and better prediction of consumer behaviors through the integration of external data sets by the platform business model based enterprises. While the progress for digital transformation is not mature enough yet, financial industry is one of the most promising industries for the change and realization of the aim of it with its relatively much more advanced IT infrastructure. Many companies are making various efforts for the integration of external data, and if the good results can be accomplished, financial industry will contribute to the advancement of digital transformation in other industries as well. For "My Data" project by Korean government, we suggest the data structure and transaction of data (of Korea) should be advanced and established more quickly.

  • In this article we review the metaphor of service-oriented architecture for enterprise computing. In typical definitions service-oriented architecture appears as a single message and a consistent roadmap for building flexible software system landscapes. But it is not. Different communities have elaborated different SOA (service-oriented architecture) concepts to address different problem areas, i.e., enterprise application integration, business-to-business, business process management, and software productizing. If software architects and software managers are aware of these strands of SOA when talking about SOA in their projects they can avoid misunderstandings and detours better. This article contributes a clarification of the different strands of SOA concepts and technologies and their mutual dependencies and identifies particular SOA concepts as instances of more general software engineering principles.

  • The evolution of transaction-based business model is upon us. The business models of many e-Marketplace in their early stages have typically been based on transaction fees. Many e-Marketplaces have even called out transaction revenues as a core element of their business plans. The transaction business represents the most simple of business models, but it does not provide a long-term sustain able advantage. For buyer's convenience, wide selection and test price hold appeal. For suppliers, the extended global market reach and direct access to customers and consortiums of customers is powerful. To maxmize leverage of these new e-marketplace, you must from both a buyer perspective as well as a supplier perspective. Also required is a strategy that takes in account all of the various e-Marketplace transaction standards and one that allows the easy accomodation to new e-marketplace as the market change. These new e-marketplace will need to be factored into the sales channel strategies. To be successful, integration with these e-marketplaces should occur at a complete business process level. This study explored independent and industry-backed current and future business models that are emerging in the B2B electronic market industry, as well as value -added service models for the Net market maker industry. E-Marketplaces will evolve into digital work environments in which real industry collaboration can occur.

  • International trade has been changed from traditional trade to e-trade due to the fast expanding of information technology like e-marketplace, EDI (Electronic data interchange) using Internet since mid of 1990's. e-Trade, as a new trade method, could handle every trade procedure such as market research, contract, customs clearance, logistics and payment using IT like internet without restriction of time and space. The evolution of transaction-based business model is upon us. The business models of many e-Marketplace in their early stages have typically been based on transaction fees.
