  • IPTV, 인터넷 전화 등 인터넷 가입자에게 제공되는 서비스가 지속적으로 증가하고 있으며, 서비스 종류의 증가와 동시에 통신 사업자가 제공하는 네트워크 속도의 향상에도 불구하고 서비스 사용자의 불만이 증가하고 있다. 이러한 불만의 원인은 인터넷을 이용하는 모든 서비스가 네트워크 자원을 공유하기 때문에 특정 서비스의 품질을 확보하지 못하는 현상의 발생에 기인한다. 따라서 인터넷 사업자의 입장에서는 인터넷을 이용하여 다양한 서비스가 이루어지지만, 해당 서비스의 품질을 확보하는 것이 중요한 과제로 등장하였다. 본 논문에서는 IPTV 서비스 환경과 유사한 실험망 환경을 구축하고, HD급 영상 데이터를 멀티캐스트스트리밍 방송 서비스를 통해 네트워크상에서 트래픽 부하에 따른 IPTV 수신영상품 질의 변화를 살펴보고, 영상품질에 따른 네트워크 측정요소의 임계치를 도출한다.

A Video Quality Control Scheme Based on Content Characteristics for Improving QoE in DASH Environments (DASH 환경에서 QoE 향상을 위한 콘텐츠 특성 기반의 비디오 품질 조절 기법)

  • Recently, the web-based adaptive streaming service, DASH (Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP), is receiving more attention. However, existing network-based and buffer-based video quality control schemes in DASH environments make oscillation of segment throughput, causing degradation of the quality of experience (QoE) with frequent quality changes and playback interruptions because these schemes do not consider the content characteristics. In this paper, we propose a C-DASH (Content Characteristics based Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP) scheme in order to improve the QoE in DASH environments. The C-DASH scheme performs seamless and smooth quality control based on the segment throughput, buffer status, and segment size of the content. Based on simulation results, it is confirmed that the C-DASH scheme can improve the QoE, when compared with the existing quality control schemes.

The Relationship between Service Quality and Relationship Quality of Music Performances (음악 공연의 서비스 품질과 관계 품질 간의 관계)

  • Consumers' interest in performance art is increasing with the advent of the 'culture era', and there is a need for marketing strategies for market base expansion and research in order to achieve this. Therefore, the aim of this study was to empirically establish the effect of service quality factors perceived by consumers during musical performances on audiences' relationship quality. Research results showed that the quality of the physical environment and of results, i.e. service quality, affected commitment and satisfaction, and quality of interaction had a significant effect on satisfaction. Moreover, commitment and satisfaction with relationship quality had a significant effect on loyalty. This study confirmed which service quality elements were considered important for audiences' commitment and satisfaction when attending musical performances, and thus suggests opportunities to understand audiences' consumer behavior and better improve their relationship quality.

  • ITU-T G.1000 표준에서는 통신 서비스 품질(QoS: Quality of Service)을 다음과 같은 4 가지 관점에서 정의하고 있다: (1) 고객의 QoS 요구사항, (2) 서비스 제공자가 약속한 QoS, (3) 서비스 제공자가 제공한 QoS, (4) 고객이 인지한 QoS. 그러나 G.1000은 프로세스 표준이 아니므로 위 4 관점에서 QoS는 서비스 관리 프로세스 표준에 포함되어 구현되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 위 4 개의 QoS를 프로세스 관리 표준인 ISO/IEC 20000 의 어떤 프로세스에서 구현해야 하는지를 제시한다. 본 연구에 따라 IT 서비스 관리 프로세스를 구현하는 기업은 ITU 의 QoS 요구사항을 자동적으로 실행하는 것이 된다. 또한 본 연구 결과는 IT 서비스의 심사모형 국제표준 작성에서 QoS 반영을 위한 기초 자료로 사용될 수 있다.

  • In this paper, I evaluated the throughput of various multimedia traffic by using computer simulation over wireless LAN environment based on 802.11e MAC protocol. The number of mobile terminals which generate various traffic and have different Internet QoS varies to improve the reliability of performance evaluation by simulation. Therefore, we investigate throughput of traffic that each mobile terminal generates. I expect that the result of study will be utilized as a fundamental data to control priorities of various types of traffic in case of formulating a scheduling policy supporting a variety of Internet QoS over wired and wireless networks.

  • This research addresses familiarity and degree of using Internet site and trust building to affect service quality in e-commerce. We assume that the familiarity and frequency of using Internet site affect perceived service quality of customer. Also it assumes that customer's trust building intermediates their relationships. Several hypotheses are set to test these assumptions empirically. Consequently, the results show that familiarity of using Internet site affects customer's perceived service quality significantly except for tangible. Also it is found that degree of customer's trust building intermediates the relationship between familiarity of using Internet site and customer's perceived service quality significantly. For gaining good trust of customer in Internet site, we suggest that familiarity should fit into customer's needs.

  • The current paper aims to analyze the influence of users' self evaluation of e-service quality and others' word-of-mouth(WOM) on customer satisfaction and revisit intention in a family restaurant web site. The research model includes the constructs of service quality, WOM, customer satisfaction, and revisit intention. This study examines the hypothesized model using data from 175 college students around the Seoul metropolitan area who have visited a family restaurant as well as used its web site during the last three months. The findings show that service quality has a significant impact on customer satisfaction and a full-mediation effect between WOM and customer satisfaction. In addition, customer satisfaction has a significant influence on revisit intention. Family restaurants need to have an effort to manage service quality factors and social influences such as online WOM in order to use a web site as a tool of customer relationship management.

  • The objectives of this study identify the factors that affect the quality of MTS services, to determine the effects of these service quality factors on customer's satisfaction and customer's loyalty. The results are as follows: First, The Four factors, i.e., tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, and assurance, represent statistically marginal significance in explaining the relationship between MTS service quality factors and customer's satisfaction. Second, The Five factors, i.e., rapidness, tangibles, responsiveness, empathy, and assurance represent statistically marginal significance in explaining the relationship between MTS service quality factors and customer's loyalty. Third, There are some differences in assurance/period of utilization, empathy/period of utilization in using MTS services according to social statistics. This article provides the paradigm of new convergence on IT and finance.

  • Recently, broadband access networks have been competitively deployed all over the world with the development of various multimedia services for such a network. ETRI(Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute) built the FTTH(Fiber-to-the-Home) service center to develop a next-generation equipment and a high-quality service/platform as well as to promote domestic industry in the field of optical communication. The FTTH service center has a variety of test equipments such as FTTH standard testbed for a BMT(Bench Mark Test), a network operation center, and IPTV service equipments. Also, ETRI deployed a new type of commercial optical access networks cooperating with ISP(Internet service provider). In this paper, we analyzed the quality degradation appeared in QoE(Quality of Experience), when IP data broadcasted from the FTTH service center is transmitted to subscribers through the commercial optical access network. Moreover, we proposed a noble solution to address this problem.

  • 초고속해상무선통신망은 연안으로부터 100km 까지 전국 3해안(동 서 남해)에 LTE(Long Term Evolution) 통신 체계를 구축하여 항해 중인 선박(어선, 소형선박, 상선 등)을 대상으로 해상 e-Navigation 서비스를 제공하는 것을 목표로 한다. 본 논문은 초고속해상무선 통신망의 품질검증 기준이 되는 연안으로부터의 통신서비스 제공 거리, 전송 속도, 전송성공률 및 커버리지 기준 등에 대해 검토해 보고 각 기준 수립을 위해 고려되어야 할 주요 쟁점 사항을 논의해보고자 한다.
