워터제트 선박추진용 사류펌프의 설계 및 성능해석 (Design and Performance Analysis of Mixed-Flow Pumps for Waterjet Marine Propulsion)

  • The hydraulic design optimization and performance analysis of mixed-flow pumps for waterjet marine vehicle propulsion has been carried out using mean streamline analysis and three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics (CFD) code. In the present study, the conceptual design optimization has been formulated with a non-linear objective function to minimize the fluid dynamic losses, and then the commercial CFD code was incorporated to allow for detailed flow dynamic phenomena in the pump system. Newly designed mixed-flow model pump has been tested in the laboratory. Predicted performance curves by the CFD code agree very well with experimental data for a newly designed mixed-flow pump over the normal operating conditions. The design and prediction method presented herein can be used efficiently as a unified hydraulic design process of mired-flow pumps for waterjet marine vehicle propulsion.

  • 본 연구에서는 연속계의 진동모드를 구하여 일반질량(generalize mass)을 유 동하였으며 집중, 분포질량 변경에 따른 일반질량 변화량을 산출하여 감도계수를 구하 는 새로운 연속계 감도해석 방법을 제안하였고, 타당성을 검증하기 위해 외팔보, 계단 보에 적용하여 감도계수, 고유진동수, 진동모드, 전달함수의 변화량을 예측하고 이론 치와 비교하였다. Fig.1은 본 연구의 흐름도를 나타낸다.

  • The shock absorber is a part having a direct influence on the ride comfort, stability and dynamic load prediction of a vehicle. Thus, a rationally modeled shock absorber should be required in the dynamic analysis of vehicles. This thesis presents a modified model, based on Worden's hyperbolic tangent function, in order to fit experimental data on the velocity-damping force of a shock absorber. The hyperbolic tangent function correctly indicates the characteristics of a shock absorber. and has the advantage of containing physical causality. To evaluate the method, comparative evaluations of the linear model. the 5th polynomial model and Worden's model were carried out. The function presented in this paper is not only simple but also makes it possible to estimate the function coefficients easily and visually. In addition, it has the advantage of containing physical causality. Lastly, it effectively models the damping force of a shock absorber.

  • This paper derives the generalized stiffness to find dynamic characteristics and its derivatives of a continuous system. And a new sensitivity analysis method is presented by using the amount of change of generalized stiffness and vibrational mode caused by the variation of stiffness. In this paper, to get or detect appropriate results, cantilever beam and stepped beam and stepped beam are used. Deviations of sensitivity coefficient, natural frequency, and vibrational mode are calculated as result, and compared with the theoretical exact values.

프랙탈 보간에 의한 진원도 모델링 (Roundness Modelling by Fractal Interpolation)

  • There are many modelling methods using theoretical and experimental data. Recently, fractal interpolation methods have been widely used to estimate and analyze various data. Due to the chaotic nature of dynamic roundness profile data in roundness some desirable method must be used for the analysis which is natural to time series data. Fractal analysis used in this paper is within the scope of the fractal interpolation and fractal dimension. Also, two methods for computing the fractal dimension has been introduced which can obtain the dimension of typical dynamic roundness profile data according to the number of data points in which the fixed data are generally lower than 200 data points. This fractal analysis result shows a possible prediction of roundness profile that has some different roundness profile in round shape operation.

  • The end-milling force behaviour is very complex and it is related to a de-noising phenomenon, so it is very difficult to detect and diagnose this static cutting force phenomenon. This paper presents a new method of filtering of end-milling force in end-milling operation using filter bank technique, based on the wavelet transform. In this paper by comparing the history of end-milling force using wavelet filtering the fundamental end-milling property of the wavelet transform is well reviewed and analyzed. This result of wavelet transform using filter bank shows the possible static prediction of end-milling force with severe dynamic properties such as chatter in end-milling operation.

  • This paper studies the effect of pad at initial stage and wear during braking on the dynamic contact pressure distribution. Wear is influenced by variable factor (contact pressure, sliding speed, radius, temperature) during dynamic braking and variation in contact pressure distribution. Many researchers have conducted complex eigenvalue analysis considering wear characteristic with Lim and Ashby wear map. The conventional analysis method is assumed the pad has smooth and flat surfaces. The purpose of this paper is to validate that wear rate induced by braking is considered for the precise squeal prediction. After obtaining pad wear from experiment, it is incorporated with FE model of brake system. Finally, the comparisons in fugitive nature of squeal will be carried out between the complex eigenvalue analysis and noise dynamometer experiment.

  • In this paper, we assume that the dynamics of DC motor and nonlinear load are unknown. We train the inverse dynamic model of DC motor and nonlinear load using the neural network and construct speed control system based on the traind dynamic model and current control mode. Speed prediction scheme using neural network is also proposed the alleviate the time delay effect caused by the computation time of neural network. Simulation results show good performances of the control system. Finally, hardware configuration of the control system is outlined.

현장 축소모형 말뚝 시험을 이용한 선단지지력 예측 (Evaluation of Point Bearing Capacity using Field Model Pile Test)

  • 현재까지 많은 경우 아직도 실무에서의 말뚝 설계는 주로 경험적 지지력공식만을 이용하고 있다. 시공 후 말뚝의 지지력 확인은 품질관리 차원에서 실시하는 동적시험 및 정적시험 등을 통하여 가능하나 이는 시공 중 또는 시공 후에만 가능하다. 지반 조사단계에서 간단한 시험을 통하여 각 지층별로 말뚝의 선단지지력을 예측할 수 있다면 경험식이나 정적공식에 의한 예측보다 신뢰성 있는 말뚝의 설계가 가능할 것이다. 본 연구에서는 지반조사 단계에서 실시 가능한 간단한 막대형 축소모형말뚝에 대한 동적시험으로부터 실제 말뚝 지지층의 선단지지력 예측 시험법을 제시하고 정재하시험과의 비교를 통하여 예측된 선단지지력을 검증하였다. 시험 결과 축소모형말뚝시험과 정재하시험을 통해 예측된 단위극한선단지지력은 유사한 값을 보였으며, N값에 의해 예측된 단위극한선단지지력은 현장시험에 의해 측정된 단위선단극한지지력의 약 50%정도로 N값에 의한 지지력의 예측은 매우 보수적인 설계로 비합리적이며 비경제적인 말뚝설계가 됨을 알 수 있었다.

  • An end beam is one of the most important structural members supporting uncovered freight under in-service loading. In general, it needs to endure over 25 years. However fatigue fracture has occurred at dynamic stress concentration location of the end beam because user's specifications demanded high speed and vehicle manufacturer made the uncovered freight car with comparatively low strength and stiffness. For durability analysis, finite element analysis is performed to evaluate the problem of uncovered freight structure and local strain. The uncovered freight car was operated on actual problematic railroad line to measure dynamic stress versus time history on the critical part from which a crack is initiated often. Rainflow cycle counting method was used to estimate fatigue damage at dangerous area under operating condition. Therefore, this study shows that analytical fatigue life at the end beam can be predicted on the basis of S-N curve and structure analysis and has a fairly good correlation with experimental fatigue life.
