AN ALGORITHM FOR MINIMAL DYNAMIC FLOW

  • FORD and FULKERSON have shown that a stationary maximal dynamic flow can be obtained by solving a transhipment problem associated with the static network and thereby finding the maximal temporally repeated dynamic flow. This flow is known to be an optimal dynamic flow. this paper presents the remark that temporally repeated flows may be not optimal for a minimal dynamic flow and an algorithm for such a flow. a numerical example is presented.

This flow is known to be an optical dynamic flow. This paper presents an algorithm for second best temporal1y repeated flows. A numerical example is presented.

  • Although the cone type venturi flow meter is superior to another differential pressure type flow meter in precision, the venturi is installed at the pipe as an L beam, so that the dynamic load due to drag force and flow-induced force is generated in the flow meter. In this paper we propose a methodology to evaluate this dynamic load directly by using stain-gages attached on the venturi and we discuss about the dynamic characteristics on the basis of flow-induced vibration theory.

  • 지능형 교통체계(intelligent transport systems)의 구축이 점차 널리 확대됨에 따라 교통류의 실시간 모형화(online traffic flow modeling)의 중요성이 증대되고 있다. 교통량-밀도 관계는 주어진 교통량, 밀도 상황에서 교통류의 행태를 나타낼 뿐만 아니라 거시 교통류 모형의 결과에 많은 영향을 미친다. 현재까지 교통량-밀도관계에 관한 대부분의 연구는 그 관계식을 규명하는데 그치고 있다. 상류부와 하류부의 교통 상태에 따른 교통량-밀도관계의 시간적 변화는 교통류의 모형화에 반드시 고려되어야 할 특성이지만, 현재까지 그에 대한 연구가 폭넓게 이루어지지 않고 있는 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 한 지점에서의 교통량-밀도관계가 시간의 흐름에 따라 분석되었고 states diagram으로 표현되었다. 동적 교통량-밀도관계 (dynamic flow-density relation)는 states diagram으로부터 fuzzy-logic을 이용하여 유추되었고, 거시 교통류모형을 실시간으로 응용할 수 있는 기초를 제공하였다. 동적 교통량-밀도관계를 거시 교통류 모형에 이용함으로써 교통류의 실시간 모형화 과정에서 발생하는 모수추정 (parameter calibration) 문제를 완화하였다.

Dynamic PIV Measurement of Swirl Flow in a PC Fan

  • The dynamic particle image velocimetry (PIV) is consisted of a high frequency pulse laser, high speed cameras and a timing controller. The three velocity components of flow downstream of an axial flow fan for PC cooling system are measured using the dynamic PIV system. An Axial flow fan has seven blades of 72 mm in diameter. The rotating speed is 1800 rpm. The downstream flow is visualized by smoke particles of about $0.3-1\;{\mu}m$ in diameter. The three-dimensional instantaneous velocity fields are measured at three downstream planes. The swirl velocity component was diffused downstream and the change in time-mean vorticity distribution downstream was also discussed. The spatio-temporal change in axial velocity component with the blades passing is recognized by the instantaneous vector maps. And the dynamic behavior of vorticity moving with the rotating blades is discussed using the unsteady vorticity maps.

PIV 측정 흐름형태에 의한 타원형 날개꼴의 동적 실속 특성 연구 (A Study on the Dynamic Stall Characteristics of an Elliptical Airfoil by Flow Pattern Measured by PIV)

  • An experimental investigation on the static and dynamic stall characteristics of elliptic airfoil was performed by PIV velocity field measurements. The flow Reynolds number was $3.13{\times}10^5$ and the reduced frequency of the pitch oscillation ranged from 0.075 to 0.125. The onset of static stall was caused by boundary layer separation which started at the trailing edge and progressed toward the leading edge. However, dynamic stall was caused by the vortex shed at the leading edge region and the flow field showed a vortex dominated flow with turbulent separation and alternate vortex shedding. The increase of reduced frequency increased the dynamic stall angle of attack and intensified the flow hysteresis in the down-stroke phase.

  • The change of flow stress due to dynamic recrystallization during hot forming process is investigated. A series of mechanical tests has been conducted at various temperatures, and constitutive relations and recrystallization kinetics were formulated from the test results. The effect of dynamic recrystallization to the flow stress was implemented to a commercial FEM code by conditioned remapping of state variables. The datum strain of stress compensation was optimized to minimize the overestimation of forming loads. Suggested datum was formulated as an exclusive function of critical strain for recrystallizalion and validated by mechanical tests and microstructural observations.

  • Dual-cooled fuel with inner and outer flow channel was proposed for high burup, next generation nuclear fuel design. The annular cylinder of dual cooled fuel has higher structural strength compared to the conventional one, but also have concerns about flow induced vibration due to an additional flow of inner channel and the difference of flow velocity in between inner and outer channel. In this study, the dynamic stability of flexible, annular cylinder was evaluated according to the flow variation and compared to the that of the conventional PWR fuel rod. Centrifugal and Coriolis force by the additional flow in the inner channel were added in the dynamic equation of flexible beam in uniform, external, and axial flow. Complex eigenfrequency was calculated by the finite element method. Stability margin of annular cylinder compared to the solid cylinder and change of the dynamic characteristic are presented and discussed as a analysis results.

  • In this paper, the static and dynamic characteristics in the sensor tube of a mass flow controller(MFC) were studied by experiments. In the sensor tube of MFC. the difference of temperature between inlet and outlet was necessary for calculating the mass flow rate. Therefore, the relations among flow rate, heat generated by heating wire. and sensor location were investigated to find optimized condition. Finally, the relation between sensor voltage through analog digital conversion(ADC) and flow rate in the sensor tube can be represented. Based on this study, static and dynamic characteristics of sensor tube can be used for design of mass flow controller.

AA5083 합금의 고온유동응력 및 연신율에 미치는 압연온도와 패스변형량의 영향 (The Effects of Pass Strain and Rolling Temperature on Flow Stress and Flow Strain of AA5083 Alloy)

  • Different pass strains and rolling temperatures were applied to understand the effects of pass strain and rolling temperature on flow stress and flow strain of AA5083 alloy. The specimens were prepared by conventional casting process followed by hot rolling. Hot torsion tests were conducted at temperature ranges of 350 to 52$0^{\circ}C$ under a strain rate of 1.0/sec. During the process, hot-restoration mechanisms, dynamic recovery(DRV) or dynamic recrystallization (DRX), of the AA5083 alloy were analyzed from the flow curves and deformed microstructures. It was found that while the rolling strain per pass and rolling temperature have little effect on the folw stress, they have significant effect on the failure strain. The DRV was responsible for the hot restoration mechanism of the hot-rolled specimen. heavily elongated grains and small subgrains containing dislocations were obtaned during the hot deformation. This was due to the presence of Al6Mn precipitate in the alloy.
