With the increasing deployment of distributed generators in the distribution system, a very large search space is required when dynamic programming (DP) is applied for the optimized dispatch schedules of voltage and reactive power controllers such as on-load tap changers, distributed generators, and shunt capacitors. This study proposes a new optimal voltage and reactive power scheduling method based on dynamic programming with a heuristic searching space reduction approach to reduce the computational burden. This algorithm is designed to determine optimum dispatch schedules based on power system day-ahead scheduling, with new control objectives that consider the reduction of active power losses and maintain the receiving power factor. In this work, to reduce the computational burden, an advanced voltage sensitivity index (AVSI) is adopted to reduce the number of load-flow calculations by estimating bus voltages. Moreover, the accumulated switching operation number up to the current stage is applied prior to the load-flow calculation module. The computational burden can be greatly reduced by using dynamic programming. Case studies were conducted using the IEEE 30-bus test systems and the simulation results indicate that the proposed method is more effective in terms of saving electric charges and improving the voltage profile than loss minimization.

Recent experimental studies have been shown that strain gages can be employed to determine either static or dynamic stress intensity factors $K_{I}$ wiht relatively simple experiments. However, it does not usually provide a reliable value of stress intensity factor because of local yielding and limited regions for strain gage placement at the vicinity of the crack tip. This paper attempted to define a valid region and to indicate procedures for locating and orienting the strain gage to determine static toughness $K_{Is}$ accurately form one strain gage readings with respect to varying loadings. The strain gage methods was used for compact tension specimens made of Polycarbonate and PMMA(polymethyl methacrylate). Series expansions of the static and dynamic strain fields are applied. Strain gage orientation and location are then studied to optimize the strain response. Especially, in the dynamic experiment, the specimen employed is an oversized Charpy V-notch specimen which has been modified to provide significant constraint with a large elevation of the flow stress. The impact behavior of the specimen is monitored by placing strain gage near the crack tip. The dynamic toughness $K_{Id}$ is determined from the strain time traces of this gage.e.
The objective of the study is to evaluate the feasibility of the dynamic behavior of slope through both 1 g shaking table test and numerical analysis. Accelerometers were installed in the slope model with different types of seismic waves. The numerical analysis (ABAQUS and DEEPSOIL) was used to simulate 1 g shaking table test at infinite boundary. Similar Acceleration-time history, Spectral acceleration (SA) and Spectral acceleration amplification factor (Fa) were obtained, which verified the feasibility of modeling using ABAQUS and DEEPSOIL under the same size. The influence of the size (1, 2, 5, 10 and 20 times larger than that used in the 1 g shaking table test) of the model used in the numerical analysis were extensively investigated. According to the similitude law, ABAQUS was used to analyze the dynamic behavior of large-scale slope model. The 5% Damping Spectral acceleration (SA) and Spectral acceleration amplification factor (Fa) at the same proportional positions were compared. Based on the comparison of numerical analyses and 1 g shaking table tests, it was found that the 1 g shaking table test result can be utilized to predict the dynamic behavior of the real scale slope through numerical analysis.

The proposed model to predict the bridge load carrying capacity uses the impact response spectrum. The spectrum is based on Euler-Bernoulli beam and the center of the bridge width for the moving load location. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the eccentric moving load effects on the impact factor and response factor. For this, this study considers 10 m width and two-lane simply supported slab bridges and performs the moving load analysis to investigate the variations of peak impact factor and corresponding response factor. The numerical results show that the eccentric load increases both the static and dynamic displacements, but the impact factor is decreased since the incremental amount of static displacement is bigger than that of dynamic displacement. However, the difference of the impact factors between the center and eccentric loadings is small showing less than 0.5%p. In the response factor, the eccentric loading increases both the static and dynamic response factors, compared to the center loading. The difference of the response factor is only 0.18%p. It shows that the eccentric loading has very small effects on the response factor, thus the impact factor response spectrum which is generated based on the center moving load can be used to determine the response factor.

The response of a bridge can be influenced by span length, bridge's surface condition, vehicle's weight, and vehicle's velocity. It is difficult to predict accurate behavior of a bridge. In the current standard of specifications, such dynamic effect is defined by impact factor and prescribed to consider live load as to increase design load by means of multiplying this value by live load. However, it is not well understood because the Impact factor method differs from every country. Dynamic, static and pseudo-staitic field loading tests on PSC-I girder bridges were carried out to find out the dynamic property of the bridge. This paper is aimed to figure out actual dynamic property of the bridge by using field loading test. An empirical method based on impact factor is widely used and also argued. Displacement and strain response measured from the tests was compared with one from the empirical method. The former seems to be reasonable since it can consider actual response of a bridge through field tests.
This study analyzes the effects of trade globalization and financial globalization on consumption classified by type(durable, quasi-durable, non-durable and service). On the other hand, trade globalization and financial globalization were decomposed into OECD common factor, regional factors, and the idiosyncratic country-specific factors by time-varying dynamic factor analysis. The characteristics of OECD common factor, regional factors, and the idiosyncratic country-specific factors of trade and financial globalization were analyzed. Furthermore, the influences of these factors on consumption by type were analyzed. The analysis shows that globalization has negative effects on consumption. In particular, we found out that the idiosyncratic country-specific factor of Korea in trade and financial globalization had a statistically significant negative effect on consumption. We can infer that the globalization affecting consumption can be attributed to the idiosyncratic country-specific factor, which is economic choice rather than uncontrollable global trend. Accordingly, to solve the sluggish consumption problem caused by globalization, it is necessary to require not only domestic consumption expansion policies but also the efforts to resolve economic polarization problems to be able to stimulate consumption.

Purpose : To collect beam data for dynamic wedge fields using conventional measurement tools without the multi-detector system, such as the linear diode detectors or ionization chambers. Materials and Methods : The accelerator CL 2100 C/D has two photon energies of 6MV and 15MV with dynamic wedge an91es of 15o, 30o, 45o and 60o. Wedge transmission factors, percentage depth doses(PDD's) and dose Profiles were measured. The measurements for wedge transmission factors are performed for field sizes ranging from $4\times4cm^2\;to\;20\times20cm^2$ in 1-2cm steps. Various rectangular field sizes are also measured for each photon energy of 6MV and 15MV, with the combination of each dynamic wedge angle of 15o 30o. 45o and 60o. These factors are compared to the calculated wedge factors using STT(Segmented Treatment Table) value. PDD's are measured with the film and the chamber in water Phantom for fixed square field. Converting parameters for film data to chamber data could be obtained from this procedure. The PDD's for dynamic wedged fields could be obtained from film dosimetry by using the converting parameters without using ionization chamber. Dose profiles are obtained from interpolation and STT weighted superposition of data through selected asymmetric static field measurement using ionization chamber. Results : The measured values of wedge transmission factors show good agreement to the calculated values The wedge factors of rectangular fields for constant V-field were equal to those of square fields The differences between open fields' PDDs and those from dynamic fields are insignificant. Dose profiles from superposition method showed acceptable range of accuracy(maximum 2% error) when we compare to those from film dosimetry. Conclusion : The results from this superposition method showed that commissionning of dynamic wedge could be done with conventional dosimetric tools such as Point detector system and film dosimetry winthin maximum 2% error range of accuracy.
The dynamic modulus of hot mix asphalt can be determined according to the different combinations of testing temperature and loading frequency. The superposition rule is adapted to get the master curve of dynamic modulus for each hot mix asphalt. There are couple of different methods to get the shift factor which is a key for making the master curve. In this paper, Arrehnius, 2002 AASHTO, and experimental method was employed to get the master curve. Evaluation of dynamic modulus for 25mm base course of hot mix asphalt with granite aggregate and two asphalt binders(AP-3 and AP-5) was carried out. Superpave Level 1 Mix Design with gyratory compactor was adopted to determine the optimum asphalt binder content(OAC) and the measured ranges of OAC were between 4.1% and 4.4%. UTM was used for laboratory test. The dynamic modulus and phase angle were determined by testing on UTM, with 5 different testing temperature(-10, 5, 20, 40, & $55^{\circ}C$) and 5 different loading frequencies(0.05, 0.1, 1, 10, 25 Hz). Using the measured dynamic modulus and phase angle, the input parameters of Sigmoidal function equation to represent the master curve were determined and these will be adopted in FEM analysis for asphalt pavements. The shift factor and activation energy for determination of master curve were calculated.
Rubber materials are extensively used in various machine design application, mainly for vibration/shock/noise control devices. Over the years an enormous effort has been put into developing procedures to provide properties of rubber material for design function. However, there are still a lot of difficulties in the understanding of dynamic characteristics of the rubber components in compression. In this paper, the dynamic characteristics of rubber materials for anti-vibration under compression were investigated. Dynamic and static tests for rubber material with 3 different hardness were performed. In dynamic tests, non-resonance method, impedance method, was used to obtain the complex modulus(storage modulus and loss factor) and the effects of static pre-strain on the dynamic characteristics were investigated. Also, a relation equation between linear dynamic and nonlinear static behavior of rubber material was discussed and its usefulness to predict their combined effects was investigated.

This paper documents an experimental study of dynamic response of reinforced concrete beams following instantaneous removal of a bearing column. Four half-scale specimens representing two-span beam bridging across the removed column were tested. The test boundary conditions simulated rotational and longitudinal restraints imposed on a frame beam by the neighboring structural components. The gravity loads were simulated by attaching mass blocks on the beams at three locations. Dynamic loading effects due to sudden removal of a column were simulated by quickly releasing the supporting force at the middle of the specimens. The experimental study investigated the load-carrying capacity of beams restrained longitudinally at the boundaries and dynamic impact on forces. The tests confirmed the extra flexural strength provided by compressive arch action under dynamic loading. The tests also indicated that the dynamic amplification effects on forces were much lower than that assumed in the current design guideline for progressive collapse.
