겹판스프링댐퍼에서 측면틈새에 의한 감쇠력 조절 (Control of Damping Forces by Side Clearance in Leaf Spring Damper)

  • This paper describes that the leaf spring damper (LSD) developed by authors can be controled by side clearance between side covers and leaf springs. The test rig and two prototype dampers with different side clearance were manufactured. Experiments were performed to investigate the effects of side clearance on the damping of the leaf spring damper. The stiffness and damping coefficients are obtained from the displacements and the reaction forces generated by rotating the eccentric shaft. All dynamic coefficients are plotted with the excitation frequency which is adjusted by rotating speed of the shaft.

벽식마찰감쇄기의 개발 및 R/C 골조구조물에의 해석적 적용 (Development of Frictional Wall Damper and Its Analytical Applications in R/C frame Structures)

  • 본 연구에서는 R/C 골조구조물에 대한 내진성능개선 방법으로서, 벽식 마찰 감쇄기 모델을 새롭게 제안하였다. 기존의 감쇄 장치가 일반적으로 브레이스 부재 형태를 취하고 있으나, 브레이스형 감쇄장치는 시공상 강골조구조물에는 적용하기 용이한 반면 R/C 골조구조물에 적용 시에는 R/C 구조부재와 감쇄기간의 연결 문제, 감쇄기와 R/C 부재 연결부에서의 응력집중으로 인한 R/C 구조부재의 파손 우려 등의 단점이 있다. 제안된 감쇄기는 감쇄기 연결부의 R/C 구조부재 파손 및 구조물의 P-Δ효과를 줄이는데 장점을 가지면서 감쇄기로서의 역할을 발휘하도록 한 테프론 슬라이더와 R/C 전단벽 조합형 감쇄기이다. 제안된 감쇄기의 내진성능개선 능력을 평가하기 위하여, 감쇄기의 수치모델을 고려한 R/C 골조구조물의 비선형 동적해석 알고리즘을 제시하였다. 지진하중이 작용하는 기존의 10층 3경간 R/C 골조구조물에 본 감쇄기를 적용한 수치해석 결과, 시간이력거동 및 층간변위의 억제에서 탁월한 제어효과를 나타내었으며, 저층 기둥 부재의 소성힌지 발생 및 구조부재의 손상을 감쇄기의 소산에너지로 억제하여 줌으로서 구조물 내진성능개선에 효과가 우수한 것으로 평가되었다.

동흡진기를 이용한 유연 구조물의 강건제어 (Robust Control of Flexible Structure Using Dynamic Vibration Absorber)

  • Hybrid mass damper systems have recently been introduced as a dynamic vibration absorber to exploit the benefits of both the conventional tuned mass damper system and the active control system. A hybrid system is programmed to function as either a conventional TMD or as an active system according to the wind conditions and the resultant building and damper mass vibration characteristics. This paper deals with the design of the robust controller for the control of the flexible box structure. The control algorithm was devised based on $H_2$(LQG) robust control logic with acceleration feedback and to improve the capability of the controller Kalman Filter was accepted for the system. To test the ability of the robust controller using the linear motor damper system, performance tests and simulations were carried out on the full-scale steel frame structure. Through the performance tests, it was confirmed that acceleration levels are reduced down.

Seismic fragility assessment of steel moment-resisting frames equipped with superelastic viscous dampers

  • The superelastic viscous damper (SVD) is a hybrid passive control device comprising a viscoelastic damper and shape memory alloy (SMA) cables connected in series. The SVD is an innovative damper through which a large amount of seismic energy can dissipate. The current study assessed the seismic collapse induced by steel moment-resisting frames (SMRFs) equipped with SVDs and compared them with the performance of special MRFs and buckling restrained brace frames (BRBFs). For this purpose, nonlinear dynamic and incremental dynamic analysis (IDA) were conducted in OpenSees software. Both 5- and 9-story special MRFs, BRBFs, and MRFs equipped with the SVDs were examined. The results indicated that the annual exceedance rate for maximum residual drifts of 0.2% and 0.5% for the BRBFs and MRFs with SVDs, respectively, were considerably less than for SMRFs with reduced-beam section (RBS) connections and that the seismic performances of these structures were enhanced with the use of the BRB and SVD. The probability of collapse due to residual drift in the SVD, BRB, and RBS frames in the 9-story structure was 1.45, 1.75, and 1.05 times greater than for the 5-story frame.

자기 베어링 시스템을 가진기로 이용한 스퀴즈 필름 댐퍼의 동특성 계수 규명 (Identification of Dynamic Characteristics of Squeeze Film Damper Using Active Magnetic Bearing System as an Exciter)

  • The dynamic characteristics of an ell-lubricated, short squeeze film damper (SFD) with a central feeding groove are derived based on a theoretical analysis considering the effect of a groove, and identified experimentally using an Active Magnetic Bearing (AMB) system as an exciter. In order to get the theoretical solution, the fluid film forces of the grooved SFD are analytically derived so that the dynamic coefficients of the SFD can be expressed in terms of its design parameters. For the experimental validation of the analysis, a test rig using an AMB as an exciter is proposed. As an exciter. the AMB represents a mechatronic device to levitate and position the test Journal without any mechanical contact, to generate relative motions of the Journal inside the tested SFD and to measure the generated displacements during experiments with fairly high accuracy. Using this test rig, experiments are extensively conducted with various values of clearance, which Is one of the most important design parameters. in order to investigate its effect on the dynamic characteristics and the performance of the SFD. Damping and Inertia coefficients of the SFD that are experimentally Identified are compared with the analytical results to demonstrate the effectiveness of the applied analysis. It Is also shown that the AMB is an ideal device for tests of SFDs.

MR 댐퍼를 이용한 철도차량 승차감 반능동 제어 (Semi-Active Control for Improving Ride Comfort in Railway Vehicle by MR Damper)

  • Recently the maximum speed becomes the most important performance in high speed train. But the speed up of train will not give the passenger good riding comfort. The semi-active suspension system by using variable damper with hydraulic solenoid valve is used to solve this problem. But the variable damper with hydraulic solenoid valve requires tank for supplying fluid. In this study, the MR(Magneto Rheological) damper was considered instead of hydraulic variable damper in order to improve riding comfort. Dynamic simulation was conducted for semi-active suspension system with MR damper was made by using Matlab-Simulink S/W. According to control strategy of MR damper for improving ride comfort in railway vehicle, The riding comfort of the railway vehicle with semi-active suspension system was analyzed and compared with conventional suspension system by using the program.

복합 슬릿-마찰 감쇠장치가 적용된 철근 콘크리트 특수 모멘트 저항골조의 내진성능 평가 (Seismic Performance Evaluation of Special Reinforced Concrete Moment Resisting Frames With Hybrid Slit-Friction Damper)

  • This study develops a new hybrid passive energy dissipation device for seismic rehabilitation of an existing structure. The device is composed of a friction damper combined with a steel plate with vertical slits as a hysteretic damper. Analytical model is developed for the device, and the capacity of the hybrid device to satisfy a given target performance is determined based on the ASCE/SEI 7-10 process. The effect of the device is verified by nonlinear dynamic analyses using seven earthquake records. The analysis results show that the dissipated inelastic energy is concentrated on the hybrid damper and the maximum interstory drift of the SMRF with damping system satisfies the requirement of the current code.

  • In this study the flow rate-to-pressure difference characteristics of short-tube type damping orifices for a aircraft door damper were investigated by CFD analyses. For the verification of the CFD analysis results the actual performance of a door damper was measured and compared with them. and The dynamic response of door damper is Simulated using ADAMS. it's performance is evaluated comparing to the experiment result of door damper.

복합구조 댐퍼를 적용한 고 감쇠 폴리머 콘크리트의 진동 특성에 관한 연구 (Vibrational Properties of High Damping Polymer Concrete with Hybrid Damper)

  • 구조물을 구성하고 있는 콘크리트의 경우, 진동에 대한 감쇠성능이 작아, 구조물에서 발생하는 다양한 진동 문제를 해결하는데 어려움이 있으므로, 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해, 최근 폴리머 콘크리트와 복합구조 댐퍼를 혼합하여 댐핑 성능을 크게 증가시킨 고 감쇠 시스템에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 한편, 폴리머 콘크리트는 배합 시, 시멘트와 물을 사용하지 않아, 경화시간이 매우 짧고, 물리적 특성 및 동특성 등이 매우 우수하여 진동저감이 요구되는 건축구조물에의 폭넓은 활용이 기대되는 구조재료이며, 복합구조 댐퍼는 파이프 관 내부에 위치한 쇠구슬의 충돌에 따른 운동에너지 소산과 점성유체의 에너지 소산 방식을 통해 진동을 저감하는 구조시스템이라 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 폴리머 콘크리트와 복합구조 댐퍼의 물리적, 동적 특성을 일반 콘크리트와 비교하였는데, 물리적 특성의 경우, 폴리머 콘크리트가 탄성계수 및 강도 특성에서 상당히 우수한 결과를 보였으며, 특히 인장강도는 6.5~10배 이상 큰 차이를 보였다. 또한, 동적 특성의 경우도 폴리머 콘크리트는 일반 콘크리트 대비 동적강성은 25%, 감쇠비는 약 3배 정도 증가하였으며, 복합구조 댐퍼는 동적강성은 비슷한 경향을 보였지만 감쇠비는 3.5배 이상 증가하여, 일반 콘크리트보다 진동 감쇠성능이 우수한 것으로 나타났다.
