The differential equation, which can determine the dynamic critical loads for low parabcoic arches, is derived in this study. The dynamic critical loads of the parabolic arches subjected to a concentrated step load are nummerically analyzed for the changes of load positions. In cases of arches with different end conditions (both hinged, fixed hinged, both fixed), the effect of end conditions and that of the rises are investigated in detail. The summary of the results are the following: 1)The snapthrough does not occur when the rise of arch is very low, and the bifurcation appears clearly as the rise of arch increases. 2)The regions in which the dynamic critical loads are not defined for the both ends fixed are broader than that for the both ends hinged. 3)For all case, the load positions of minimum dynamic critical loads exsit at the near position from the end hinged. Thus, the results obtained in present study show that the magnitude of dynamic critical loads, the load positions of minimum dynamic critical loads and the regions in which the dynamic critical loads are not defined depend on end conditions of arches.
In this study, we have investigated the flow rate effects of Ag nanoparticle (NP) suspensions on the progress of the cell cycle by using a microfluidic image cytometry (${\mu}FIC$)-based approach. Compared with the conventional "static" exposure conditions, enhancements in G2 phase arrest were observed for the cells under continuously flowing "dynamic" exposure conditions. The "dynamic" exposure conditions, which mimic in vivo systems, induced an enhanced cytotoxicity by accelerating G2 phase arrest and subsequent apoptosis processes. Moreover, we have also shown that the increases in delivered NP dose due to the continuous supply of Ag NPs contributed dominantly to the enhanced cytotoxicity observed under the "dynamic" exposure conditions, while the shear stress caused by these slowly flowing fluids (i.e., flow rates of 6 and $30{\mu}L/h$) had only a minor influence on the observed enhancement in cytotoxicity.
Background: Although visual examination and palpation are used to assess shoulder motion in clinical practice, there is no consensus on shoulder motion under dynamic and static conditions. This study aimed to compare shoulder joint motion under dynamic and static conditions. Methods: The dominant arm of 14 healthy adult males was investigated. Electromagnetic sensors attached to the scapular, thorax, and humerus were used to measure three-dimensional shoulder joint motion under dynamic and static elevation conditions and compare scapular upward rotation and glenohumeral joint elevation in different elevation planes and angles. Results: At 120° of elevation in the scapular and coronal planes, the scapular upward rotation angle was higher in the static condition and the glenohumeral joint elevation angle was higher in the dynamic condition (P<0.05). In scapular plane and coronal plane elevation 90°-120°, the angular change in scapular upward rotation was higher in the static condition and the angular change in scapulohumeral joint elevation was higher in the dynamic condition (P<0.05). No differences were found in shoulder joint motion in the sagittal plane elevation between the dynamic and static conditions. No interaction effects were found between elevation condition and elevation angle in all elevation planes. Conclusions: Differences in shoulder joint motion should be noted when assessing shoulder joint motion in different dynamic and static conditions.
This paper deals with the dynamic characteristic analysis on Linear Induction Motor(LIM) considering load conditions. The analysis on the electromagnetic characteristics is processed to derive circuit parameters, and dynamic modeling for the analysis is performed considering load conditions for speed and thrust dynamic characteristics.

Purpose : This study aimed to compare the effect of two conditions (visual and kinesthetic) of motor imagery training on static and dynamic balance. Methods : Fifteen patients with post-stroke hemiparesis volunteered to participate in this study. Two motor imagery training conditions, for 10minute trials, employed with audiotape instructions. Measurements were performed at pretest, posttest and 1-hour follow up in both static and dynamic balance. Results : Measures were significantly different both static and dynamic balance tests between treatment conditions (kinesthetic imagery more than visual imagery) at the pretest, post test, and 1-hour follow-up (p<.05). Measures of both static and dynamic balance tests, for both conditions, improved significantly from pretest to posttest (p<.05), and was maintained at 1-hour follow up. Conclusion : This study showed that both imagery training applications were effective treatment strategies for both static and dynamic balance. When comparing the two treatment conditions, kinesthetic motor imagery training was more effective than the visual motor imagery training in static and dynamic balance.
Korean High Speed Train (KHST) has been tested on high speed line in JungBu site since it was developed in 2002. The KHST figured 7 cars was modeled for dynamic simulation with Vampire program. and the data acquisition system was used to test successfully the on-line test for proving the dynamic performance of KHST. The comparison between test and simulation results for dynamic behavior of KHST was tried in this paper and it was very difficult because the environmental conditions and running conditions have an effect on the test results and these conditions are unable to be modeled for dynamic analysis. Also the parameters for data acquisition system for test are usually not same to simulation conditions. Therefor, in this paper the acceleration data after filtering with low pass filter below 1Hz were used to compare between test and simulation results because the low frequency range is useful to evaluate the dynamic performance for railway vehicle system, so as steady state curving acceleration. The results show that both are similar in low frequency range.

Structural boundary condition is very important as a part of a structural system because it determines the dynamic characteristics of the structure. It is often to experience that experimental measurements of structural dynamic characteristics are somewhat different from the analytical predictions in which idealized boundary conditions are usually assumed. However, real structural boundary conditions are not so ideal; not perfectly clamped, for instance. Thus this paper introduces a new method to determine the non-ideal structural boundary conditions in the frequency domain. In this method, structural boundary conditions are modeled by both extensional (vertical) and torsional elastic springs. The effective springs are then determined from experimental FRFs (frequency response functions) by using the spectral element method (SEM). For a cantilevered beam experiments are conducted to determine the real boundary conditions in terms of effective springs. Dynamic characteristics (analytically predicted) based on identified boundary conditions are found to be much closer to experimental measurements when compared with those based on ideal boundary conditions.

This paper presents the criteria for setting the dynamic operating mode of BESS(Battery Energy Storage System) in the bulk power systems. ESS has been expected to improve the degraded dynamic performance of the power system with high penetration of the renewable resources. While ESS is controlled in steady state or dynamic operating mode for its better effectiveness depending on the operating conditions of power systems, the criteria for setting the dynamic operating mode for the transient period needs to be robust enough to cover all the different conditions. The proposed criteria consider the varying conditions and the operating practices of the bulk power systems.

Welding variables and conditions in gas metal arc welding (GMAW) effect on the weld quality and productivity, extensive research efforts have been made to analyze the welding variables and conditions. In this study dynamic behavior of GMAW system is investigated using the characteristic equations of the power supply, wire and welding arc. Characteristic equation of wire is modified to include the effect of droplets attached at the electrode tip. The dynamic characteristics of arc length, current, voltage with respect to the step, ramp inputs of CTWD was simulated, seam tracking procedure using arc sensor was simulated with variable V-Groove geometries and weaving frequencies. From results of simulation, some predictions about dynamic characteristics of GMAW and welding process are available. The proposed simulator and results appear to be utilized to determine the proper welding conditions, to be improved by considering power supply dynamic characteristics.

The dynamic characteristics of composite tool bars depend on the clamping conditions such as clamping force, stiffness and surface characteristics of clamping parts as well as the basic structures. Therefore, in this work, the effects of clamping part conditions on the dynamic characteristics of cantilever type composite machine tool structures with clamped joint were investigated because the cantilever type machine tool structures are ideal cases for composite application to increase the natural frequency and damping of structures. New design of the clamping part was developed in order to improve shear properties of the clamping part and dynamic characteristics of composite tool bars. From FE analysis and Impulse response tests, dynamic characteristics were obtained with respect to the clamping part conditions of the new design.
