  • Frequency resource value is growing bigger more with the development of the wireless communication. But Frequency shortage phenomenon is risen seriously because the need of Frequency resource is very many compared with the supply in an information society of the future. So we need Cognitive technique Radio which is taking the attention recently to use Frequency resource not to be not using efficiently. We propose efficient Dynamic Spectrum Allocation method in IEEE a 802.22 WRAN environment of CR foundation in this paper. To share spectrum more efficiently, we presented some Dynamic Spectrum Allocation technique to apply the Variable bandwidth, Mobility and verified this through the result of the simulations.

  • A multi-spot-beam satellite is an attractive technique for future satellite communications since it can support high data rates by projecting high power density to each spot beam and can reuse a frequency in different cells to increase the total system capacity. In this letter, we propose a resource management technique adjusting the bandwidth of each beam to minimize the difference between the traffic demand and allocated capacity. This represents a reasonable solution for dynamic bandwidth allocation, considering a trade-off between the maximum total capacity and fairness among the spot beams with different traffic demands.

  • A dynamic bandwidth allocation (DBA) scheme, an inter -optical network unit (ONU) bandwidth scheduling, is presented to provide quality of service (QoS) to different classes of packets in Ethernet passive optical networks (EPONs). This scheme, referred to as TADBA, is based on efficient threshold reporting from, and adaptive polling order rearranging of, ONUs. It has been shown that the network resources are efficiently allocated among the three traffic classes by guaranteeing the requested QoS, adaptively rearranging the polling orders, and avoiding nearly all fragmentation losses. Simulation results using an OPNET network simulator show that TADBA performs well in comparison to the available allocation scheme for the given parameters, such as packet delay and channel utilization.

  • In the network with small cell radius, a mobile terminal which has large mobility should perform frequent handover. This requires that handover mechanism must be done fastly. The currently existing method for handover uses an algorithm in which the bandwidth corresponding to the adjacent cells is supposed to be allocated. However, this method leads to the problem of requiring bandwidth allocation for many-unknown cells, due to the lack of information toward moving direction in mobile terminal. In this paper, we propose an efficient dynamic bandwidth allocation algorithm for solving those problem above, based on both path rerouting handover and soft handover mechanism with wireless ATM. As for the QoS, it has been shown that proposed algorithm shows better performance than that with static bandwidth allocation algorithm.

  • Due to advance in multimedia applications and integrated Internet services, the optical access networks have been actively studied. In particular, Ethernet passive optical network (EPON) has received much attention due to high bandwidth provision with low cost. In EPON system, the data transmission is carried out in two directions: downstream (from OLT to ONU) and upstream (from ONU to OLT). The downstream data is broadcasted to every ONUs, while the upstream data is point-to-point transmitted between each ONU and OLT, where the uplink is shared by all ONUs in the form of TDMA. The bandwidth allocation algorithm is required to efficiently manage the bandwidth on the uplink. The limited algorithm was proposed to enhance the capability of dynamic bandwidth allocation. In this paper, we propose the adaptive limited algorithm to enhance the shortcomings of limited algorithm. The adaptive limited algorithm enhances the dynamics on bandwidth allocation, and at the same time controls the fairness on packet delay. Through the computer simulations, it is shown that the adaptive limited algorithm achieves high dynamic on bandwidth allocation, maintains a good fairness on packet delay between ONUs, and keeps the fairness on the bandwidth on the demand basis.

  • This paper presents a spectrum sharing and allocation problem in multiple network operators(NOs). Most of previous works as to dynamic spectrum allocation(DSA) schemes have presented the DSA gain achieved by utilizing the time or regional variations in traffic demand between multi-network operators(NOs). In this paper, we introduce the functionalities required for the entities related with the spectrum sharing and allocation and propose a spectrum allocation algorithm while considering the long-term priority(or fairness) between NOs, the prioritybetween multiple class services, and the urgent bandwidth request. It was shown that the proposed algorithm with priorities between multiple class services could sustain better satisfaction ratio(SR) than the fixed allocation schemes or one without priority under different traffic patterns. Therefore, we conclude that the proposed DSA with priorities between multiple class services and network operators could provide the fairness between service classes of network operators and effective negotiation procedure for urgent bandwidth request by users.

  • In this paper, we propose a dynamic bandwidth allocation scheme for the transmission of VBR video source through ATM based BISDN. In order to efficiently evaluate the required bandwidth, the characteristics of the VBR video sources generated by the MPEG coder are analyzed with variations in the number of GOP and quantizer scale. The required bandwidth for VBR video source is estimated by a prediction algorithm using scene and frame correlations as well as the statistical properties of the VBR video source. Scene correlation represents a strong correlation among the adjacent slices in a frame, and frame correlation represents a strong correlation among the frames. The statistical properties based on the traffic parameters of video sources such as peak rate, average rate, and standard deviation of source are determined through simulation. The performance of the proposed bandwidth allocation scheme is evaluated in terms of the over-allocated bandwidth, bandwidth utilization, and cell loss rate with variations in the quantizer scale and the number of GOP. It is shown that the results of simulation based on the proposed scheme are superior to those of the conventional methods.

  • In this paper, we propose a scheme for dynamic allocating network bandwidth based on the playback buffer levels of the clients in a distributed mobile multimedia system. In this scheme, the amount of bandwidth allocated to serve a video request depends on the buffer level of the requesting client. If the buffer level of a client is low or high temporarily, more or less bandwidth will be allocated to serve it with an objective to make it more adaptive to the playback situation of this client. By employing the playback buffer level based bandwidth allocation policy, fair services can also be provided to the clients. In order to support high quality video playbacks, video frames must be transported to the client prior to their playback times. The main objectives in this bandwidth allocation scheme are to enhance the quality of service and performance of individual video playback such as to minimize the number of dropped video frames and at the same time to provide fair services to all the concurrent video requests. The performance of the proposed scheme is compared with that of other static bandwidth allocation scheme through extensive simulation experiments, resulting in the 4-9% lower ratio of frames dropped according to the buffer level.

  • In this paper, it is proposed a bandwidth allocation Scheme based on Bankruptcy theory in Distributed Mobile Multimedia Network. The proposed scheme is guaranteed a minimum allocation. So, the minimum quality of each service are guaranteed. Therefore efficient and fairness network can be configured. The performance evaluation results indicate that the proposed scheme has good performance than other existing schemes by the fairness index and the Erlang blocking formular calculation. The minimum bandwidth of the proposed scheme can be applied to other techniques of a priority based bandwidth allocation scheme and dynamic bandwidth allocation scheme.

  • Long-Reach PON (LR-PON) is a broadband access network using passive optical network (PON) technology which the reach is extended to 100 km or higher. A major challenge in LR-PON is that the propagation delay between OLT and ONUs is increased by a very significant amount. To effectively and fairly distribute the upstream bandwidth dynamically in LR-PON, we propose a new periodic and multi-thread polling based dynamic bandwidth allocation (DBA) algorithm. We compare the proposed algorithm with traditional DBAs and show its advantage on average packet delay. Numerical results are analyzed under varying offered loads.
