  • This work addresses the optimization controller design problem combining the AI evolution bat (EB) optimization algorithm with a fuzzy controller in the practical application of a reinforced concrete frame structure. This article explores the use of an intelligent EB strategy to reduce the dynamic response of Lead Rubber Bearing (LRB) composite reinforced concrete frame structures. Recently developed control units for plant structures, such as hybrid systems and semi-active systems, have inherently non-linear properties. Therefore, it is necessary to develop non-linear control methods. Based on the relaxation method, the nonlinear structural system can be stabilized by properly adjusting the parameters. Therefore, the behavior of a closed-loop system can be accurately predicted by determining the behavior of a closed-loop system. The performance and durability of the proposed control method are demonstrated by numerical simulations. The simulation results show that the proposed method is a viable and feasible control strategy for seismically tuned composite reinforced concrete frame structures.

  • The spherical steel bearings (SSBs) has been gradually replaced traditional rubber bearings and extensively applied to high-speed railway (HSR) bridges in China, due to their durability and serviceability. Nevertheless, SSB is generally simplified to the ordinary constraints in the finite element model, which cannot reflect its detailed mechanical characteristics, especially its seismic performance. To provide a more precisely simulation, an innovative and simplified finite element simulation method is proposed and the combined element group is developed in ANSYS. The primary parameters were determined by means of the performance test of SSB. The finite element model of SSB applied to a single-span HSR simply supported girder bridge was established through the proposed method. The seismic performance of the SSB was further investigated. A shake table test was conducted to evaluate the accuracy of the proposed simulation method. It is found that the numerical results could have a good agreement with the experiment, namely, the proposed method is feasible and efficient.

  • As a disk drive becomes widely used in portable environments, one of the important requirements is durability under severe environmental condition, especially, resistance to mechanical shock. An important challenge in the disk recording is to improve disk drive robustness in shock environments. If the system comes In contact with outer shock disturbance, the system gets critical damage in head-gimbal assembly or disk. This paper describes analysis of a HGA(head-gimbal assembly) in micro MO drives to shock loading during both non-operating state and operating state. A finite element model which consists of the disk, suspension, slider and air bearing was used to find structural response of micro MO drives. In the operational case. the air bearing is approximated with four linear elastic springs. The commercially available finite element solver, ANSYS/LS-DYNA, is used to simulate the shock response of the HGA in micro MO drives. In this paper, the mechanical robustness of the suspension is simuiated considering the shock responses of the HGA.

  • In country, for 2002 World-cup the peak is to construct soccer playground. the stabilizing method by additives is mainly applied of permanent improvement for bearing capacity of structure foundation and for strength, durability and transformation of road pavement layer except for construction machine's trafficability and bearing capacity. This study is on soft ground improvement of $\bigcirc$$\bigcirc$ world-cup stadium field. construction field constitutes of very various layers and after construction the lawn grass should be planted on the surface of the earth and in addition, chemical effects should be limited from improved ground layer. Mixing soft clay in field with three domestic representative additives, it evaluated the unconfined compression strength. In the results, after curing during 28 days the objective strength has been obtained on about 5% combination ratio.

  • The heavy duty diesel engine must have a large output for maintaining excellent mobility. The compacted graphite iron (CGI) is a material currently under study for the engine demanded for high torque, durability, stiffness and fatigue. In this study, three dimensional finite element model of a heavy-duty diesel engine was developed to conduct the stress analysis by using property of CGI. The FE model of the heavy duty diesel engine section consisting with four half cylinder was selected. The heavy duty diesel engine section include cylinder block, cylinder head, liner, bearing cap, bearing and bolt. The loading conditions of engine are pre-fit load, assembly force and gas force.

  • Wind turbine gearbox is a complex mechanical system that includes gear trains, shafts, bearings, and gearbox housings. All these component are interacting with each other therefore changing certain design parameter will affect other components. RomaxDesigner enables a reduction in development period by simulating the full gearbox system. The gear pairs, bearings and shafts are represented as analysis objects and the complex components are modelled by means of reduced stiffness matrices. The software allows durability analysis and advanced contact analysis including the effects of system misalignments in gear and bearing. In this paper the 2MW wind turbine gearbox was model led and a study on optimum design was conducted

  • A slewing reducer consists of two planetary gearsets which require a good load distribution over the gear tooth flank for enhanced durability. This work investigates how the bearing characteristics influence the load distribution over the gear tooth flank. A complete system model is developed to analyze a slewing reducer, including the non-linear mesh stiffness of the gears and the non-linear stiffness of bearings. The results indicate that the type, arrangement and preload of the output shaft bearings greatly influence the gear mesh misalignment, contact pattern, face load factor, gear safety factor and lifetimes of the parts.

  • Seismic isolation has been considered and utilized in various industries as a way to prevent huge damage on to structures by large earthquakes in various industries. The laminated Laminated rubber bearings is are most frequently used in seismic isolation systems. The structural Structural safety could not be assured unless the performance of the rubber bearing is not guaranteed for the life time of the structure under the consideration that the bearing is a critical structural member to sustain vertical loads in the seismically isolated structure. However, there are few studies on the deterioration problems of rubber bearings during their service life. The long term performance of the rubber bearings was not considered in past designs of seismically isolated structures. This study evaluates the long term performance and creep characteristics of laminated natural rubber bearings that are used in seismically isolated buildings. For the this study, a set of accelerated thermal aging tests and creep tests are were performed on real specimens. The experimental results show that the natural rubber bearings would have a stable change rate of change for durability under severe environmental conditions for a long time.

  • This paper conducted a study on the application of ceramic materials for bridge bearing that can complement the durability of PTFE, a conventional bridge bearing friction material, and exhibit low coefficient of friction and friction behavior without lubricant. The ceramic material was zirconia (ZrO2), and the friction behavior was evaluated according to the roughness coefficient. The roughness coefficient was divided into 0.8 and 0.027, and the average coefficient of friction was calculated to be 0.16 under 15 MPa surface pressure. Afterward, ceramic was made into friction material and applied to the bridge bearing, and performance comparison with PTFE bridge bearing was conducted through compression test and friction test. In the compression test, the ceramic and PTFE bridge bearing showed ideal compression behavior depending on the load. No fractures or defects were observed in the ceramic bridg bearing, but lubricant loss was observed in the PTFE bridge bearing. The average coefficient of friction of the ceramic bridge bearing analyzed through friction behavior was 0.16. The inherent material properties of the physical and chemical properties of ceramics, the excellent mechanical properties derived from the performance evaluation, and the coefficient of friction of 0.16 suggest that it can be considered as a friction material.
